Brittany, welcome to the podcast. Thanks. Thanks for having me. I'm looking forward to it. Yes. Me too.

I am so excited to dive in to this topic of AI and how it is impacting the freelance industry and, specifically, like, how freelancers can capitalize on it and use it to their advantage in their business and in helping their clients.

But before we dive in to all the fun stuff that is AI, I'd love if you just introduce yourself to everyone listening who maybe hasn't hasn't had the honor of meeting you yet.

Yeah. So I'm Brittany Long. I, used to be an award winning educator and then decided that was not the life path, career path that I wanted, but I still really wanted to help people.

That's always been really important to me. And so I went into VA work and into freelancing and eventually copywriting.

And that's kinda where I landed for a really long time. I loved what I was doing. I loved copywriting. I loved email marketing, and I thought, okay. I I could probably do this the rest of my life.

And then ChatGPT came out, and I thought, well, this will probably be like Jasper and Jarvis and, like, all those other AI tools that I've used before that I'm not really worried about that aren't that good.

Except then, I tried chat GBT, and I was like, crap. This is gonna change everything. And I thought, well, I could either pivot now and just run into it and lean into it, or I could be scared of it and kind of put my head in the sand.

And I really wanted to put my head in the sand, but I had missed an opportunity a few years prior that somebody had given me this really great idea.

They encouraged me to do it. They were always already successful at it, and I didn't. And I always think back to that moment, and I'm like, when another opportunity like that comes up, I wanna first be able to recognize it.

And then second, I wanna lean into it and run run with it instead of, you know, looking back at it years later and regretting it and regretting not taking action on it.

So when I tried ChattGPT and I realized how much better it was than anything else that was, like, out there about AI, I was like, alright.

This is it. This is that opportunity. I'm going to run with it right now and, see what happens. And that's that's kinda how it all started for me. Wow. So what was the year?

Like, when did you go into VA? When did you go to copy? And then when did you transition? Like, just timeline it out for us because I think that's so cool for everyone listening here. Like, guys, she started where you are right now.

Probably listening, not so much loving her teaching career anymore, realized it didn't fit the lifestyle she wanted, made a change, got started VA work, pivoted into copy, pivoted into email marketing and automation specialized there, and then pivoted again.

Like, how encouraging to see the the different phases your business can take and how like, where you start isn't where you're gonna be forever and that there's always new opportunities, new ways to grow, new ways to hone in and really leverage your unique strengths and talents.

I just think that is so, so inspiring, Britney. But But I'd love to hear, like, the timeline so people can kind of see.

Oh, okay. Cool. So I think, what you said about, you know, you have these skills, I think that's spot on. But sometimes when you're in the middle of something else where you like, it's hard to see the way out sometimes.

And that's kind of where I started, where I had taught for two years, and then I had a cancer scare. I thought I'm literally gonna die because that's what they told me.

And then I went to a specialist, and they're like, I don't know what they're talking about. Like, they're the they were like, it's precancerous. It's localized. We can get it with one minor surgery.

You'll, like, you'll be out this afternoon if we get it taken care of. And so but it was, like, a two week period in between there that, I thought, like, I might be dying, and it completely changed how I viewed work.

And so up until that point, I was like, teaching's okay. I like it. I'm good at it. I maybe it's what I wouldn't do forever, but I'll figure it out, you know, later. I I was like, I have more time. I'll figure it out later.

I'll figure it out later. And then when I had that cancer, I was like, what if I don't have later? And that was a really pivotal moment for me because I thought this is this is my one life, and I want to go after it.

So it was just this pivotal moment for me where I I was like, I have to either continue doing what I'm doing knowing that that life is fleeting and that I am turns out immortal, like or no.

Wait. Immortal. Not immortal. But, I I just kinda had to come face to face with that, and that's when I really started looking for something else besides teaching.

And for two years, I basically complained and whined and was like, here's everything that's wrong with it.

Here's all the reasons I don't wanna do it. But I wasn't really taking action on doing something different because I was super scared.

I was like, what if this is the only thing I can do? What if I'm not good at anything else? What if, you know, I don't have the skills for anything else?

And how am I even gonna get into something else? And so I, like, basically just complained and complained and complained. And then I started going to, meetup for for marketers.

And I think, like, listening to your podcast, doing things like that are so important for people that want to get into another career, because it starts to open you up to new ideas and new possibilities, and then you can start to take action.

But, I'll never forget, I was telling somebody about how I wanted to leave teaching, how miserable I was.

And this person was like, Britney, nobody's holding a gun to your head. Nobody's forcing you to stay in this into teaching. You can leave if you wanna leave. And I was like, no. I can't because I, like, listed all the reasons.

I need the insurance. I need this. I what else am I gonna do that's gonna make this much, which is not it was not a lot, but it was a lot to me at the time. And, he was yeah. Like, you can keep doing it. That's fine.

But you need to acknowledge, like, it is your choice to continue to be in this career. If you want to choose to be in it for a while longer and have it be that thing that's funding you while you explore something else, that's fine.

But start to acknowledge that you're choosing it. And that, like, completely changed my life because all of a sudden, I wasn't being forced to do something and I didn't have to do something.

I was using it as basically, like, my sugar daddy to fund, you know, trying new things and figuring out what I what it was that I wanted to do.

And so in I think it was, like, '20 I wanna say it was 2018 that I left teaching, and then I went into, VA role. And I did that for I was doing, like, VA sub, graphic design sub. I did that for about six months.

And then, the person I was working with they had this, like, shake up in their company, and a bunch of people left. And she was like, do you wanna take over those roles? And there was, like, five or six roles.

And I didn't know how to do any of them, and I said yes, which was maybe the most terrifying thing I've ever done is was saying yes to that, because I was like, I don't know how I'm gonna figure it out. I just have to figure it out.

And the really cool thing was I didn't have time to, like, play it around in my head. I didn't have time to be like, what if I can't do it? We just I just had to figure it out because that was literally the only option.

And so I learned how to Google everything, how to look up YouTube for everything. And, so for four years well, for the first six months, I was doing, like, BA graphic design work.

And then after that, for the next, like, three and a half years, I was doing copywriting and email marketing and helping run this multimillion dollar company, with somebody else.

And so, I learned that I was a lot more capable than I thought. And so because of that experience, now anytime I go into something, I'm like, I can figure this out.

It's just a matter of time and resources. Like, finding the right person that can help or the right resource that can help, but I can do I I do, like, I could do almost anything at this point, because I have that experience.

I was able to do all these things that I'd never thought I'd be able to, and I didn't have time to second guess.

Yeah. That's that, like, experience of, like, where you learn and you just wow yourself, that is such a powerful moment to hold on to and, like, come back to every time you start to have that doubt.

And I just wanna say for those of you that are listening that are kind of stuck in the place where Britney was for two years, like, complaining and not doing anything about it, if it's the fear of, like, but I don't know this yet.

I want you to think about what have you not known how to do in your life, but you did it anyway, whether it was your choice or it it happened to you and you figured it out?

Like, when we become moms, if if those of you listening are a mom, you have your first baby. Most of us have no idea how to care for a baby or how to be a parent.

It's something you learn on the go. When you face a challenge, when you face a struggle, you go to Google. How do I how do I help my child sleep through the night? How do I get rid of the pacifier?

How do I introduce solids? Like, there's resources out there for almost anything you need need to do. And those moments even what like, going back to teaching, I had no idea how to manage a classroom or use any of the software to teach.

They didn't teach you any of that in your education programming. At least for me, it was all, like, theory and hypothetical and, like, here's how you plan a lesson, but it was very little.

Here's, like, actual experience hands on. You were kind of just left to figure it out, that first that first day, that first year.

And so think back into what you've done prior to, what you've learned, what you have accomplished, and hold on to that. And let that be like, oh, yeah. I I can figure things out. I am smart. I am a problem solver. I am very capable.

I like to, now like, knowing that now, I try to intentionally put stuff into my life that is challenging for me that I know will be hard for me to do because I want to continue to build that muscle level, like grit and resilience and proving to myself that I can stuff.

And I would recall stuff, even like little things that are really weird, but I would recall, specifically, my grandma knew how to whistle with her fingers, and I always thought that was really cool.

So I learned how to do it just because I was like, that'd be anything.

And then there's, so there's this thing that people will say is a genetic thing where you can roll your tongue where it's like you, you know, go like that and it kinda makes like a u shape.

And, yeah, that exactly. And it's apparently genetic. Like, only some people can do it. And I remember learning about that in school and thinking, I wonder if it really is genetic because at the time, I couldn't do it.

And so for me, this is such a silly example, but it's like something small that I put into my life to prove to myself. And so for months, I practiced it until eventually I was able to do it.

And so now anytime I think of something like, well, maybe I can't do this because nobody I know has ever nobody I know has, ever done it or, you know, we all have those or maybe you all don't, but I I do.

Those, like, old money mindset things from, you know, old family, things that we just kind of pass on or have been passed on to us.

I I use that as an example to, like, challenge myself of I know that people say you can't do this if or I know that I thought I can't do this because, but I can roll my tongue and that's genetic and I couldn't before.

So maybe I could do this too. And so, like, I look for things that give me proof that, well, maybe I can do this thing too.

Yeah. That's incredible. And so that just goes to show, it's not so much what you know that determines if you can start a successful service based business as a freelancer.

It's a % more important your natural skill set. If you are if you're naturally determined, if you have grit, if you have resilience, or are willing to really grow and test those muscles, you you can start a business.

You can grow it beyond your wildest imaginations of what you're picturing in your head right now. It's those soft skills that are way more important than, do you currently know how to use AI?

Do you currently know how to do email automation or some specific VA task? All of that can be learned when you have determination grit and that resilience.

Yeah. Totally. And that actually brings me to when I started learning AI. So Chargebee team came out. Yeah. It came out to the public 11/30/2022. By, like, December 6, I had decided I'm gonna learn this.

And I know that for me to commit to something, if I'm getting paid for something, I will commit to it, and I will, like, be the best at it. And so I think it was, like, December 6 or that next week where I was like, alright.

I'm going to release a low ticket membership on this. It's gonna be $9 a month, and it's gonna be me learning how to use it, and I'm sharing what I learned. Like, it wasn't anything fancy.

It wasn't anything, you know but it was just like, I'm gonna learn how to use this and I'm gonna show other people as I'm learning so that I can make sure that I stick with it because I'm getting paid for it.

So I know I'll stick with it if I do. And, that's, that's kind of how everything happened with really moving into AI, because I was really first to the market on doing something like that.

That was like a low ticket membership. Yes. I remember I remember that, and I'm like, she's crazy. I'm not following that. Like, AI, that's going nowhere. Maybe that was wishful thinking. I'm feeling like, I don't have the energy.

I'm old. I I don't have the energy to learn something completely new. Those of us that have been in the online business since, you know, 2016, '20 '17, even before that, like, things used to be so much easier.

And it was, like, one challenge after the next, one big roadblock or industry shake up, and I'm just like, I don't have it in me.

But I don't know. This, in January, I've I've been kinda, like, following and like, oh, that's cool. That's she's she's stuck with it. But, like, I don't need that. I don't need that. And then just this January, I was like, oh god.

I think it's time to it's time to open and stop putting my head in the sand and definitely lean into this. So now I feel like I'm playing major catch up, but it's better better now than two years from now, I guess.

Right. And there's a lot, like, at the beginning that, worked differently than it does now. It works so much better than it did before. And so one on one hand, I got to learn early and be first to market on that, and that was awesome.

And there but there was also a lot of challenge with the challenges with that. And so now it's much easier to use. It's even more user friendly.

And so if you're listening to this, just getting started with AI, this is a great time to get started. And in fact, like you said, I it's way better than starting two years from now. So, like, today today is the day.

Like, get started on it today, because I really think we're gonna see huge changes and shifts in, how people are doing work and how people are hiring within the next three years. So the sooner you can get into it, the better.

So what was it like transitioning into, like, being in copywriting? Were you when you went into AI, were you still doing copywriting services? And, like, how how did that kind of, aid in your the services that you are providing?

Because, like, if I remember correctly, back then, everyone was pretty negative copywriting wise against AI. Like, oh, it all sounds very robotic. It's terrible. There's no personality. It's just it's not good, so don't worry.

Yeah. So, I found that for most people that weren't copywriters, it was pretty bad, because, you know, if you're not trained as a copywriter, you don't really know what to ask or what to look for.

But I was able to figure out pretty quickly that it could add a lot of personality. It could sound like me if I did a certain way. And so that was just from lots and lots of practicing and, like, using it every single day.

But honestly, the hardest part wasn't so much getting it to write like me or sound like me. The hardest part was feeling judged by other people, for using it, specifically for copywriting.

I felt like there was other copywriters that were judging me. There's other business owners that were judging me. And, like, every day I would see from people that I really respected, oh, I'm never gonna use AI.

Oh, people that use AI are just, like, people that want to sell NFTs. They're just looking for a quick buck. And so, like, all of these things like, that was definitely the hardest part.

Out of everything that I've done with AI, that's been the hardest part. And, I kept going because I knew that like, I just had this feeling in my gut that, AI was not going to go away.

Like, once it was out of Pandora's box, it was not gonna go away. And, it it just really felt like this was gonna be a huge shift in the world, and I knew I should stick with it.

And so, trying to navigate, it's and people were worried about jobs for a while and stuff like that too. And so trying to navigate, like, how do I share what I'm learning? How do I show people how to use it to make it sound like them?

And how do I help people basically not lose their jobs to it? Like, it felt like I it felt like I couldn't keep quiet about it because I knew it was gonna have this huge impact.

And everything in me was like, don't say anything about it. Don't do anything with it just because I I, you know, I didn't wanna be judged by other people, and I didn't wanna feel like I didn't belong.

And so it was just a really interesting time, but it helped me get thicker skin and helped me, you know, feel more, certain in my convictions and stuff about, like, this is gonna be something that really changes things for people.

Yeah. So what are can you go over some of the top tools, like, that you would recommend, business owners, service providers be aware of and start using? Like, what are some because sometimes I get overwhelmed. Like, I've used ChatGPT.

Is that the one that used to be OpenAI? It's still OpenAI. OpenAI is like the parent, and then ChatGPT is a specific tool. But ChatGPT is the one that I recommend that people start with because I think it's the easiest to use.

It's like the most user friendly, easiest to use, and there's just so much that you can do with it that if you haven't mastered that, it doesn't really make sense to add on all these other tools.

So, ChatGPT is the first one that I recommend starting with.

It has, like, I have a copywriting GPT. So now people on my team, like my VA, for example, can use the copywriting GPT to write an email that sounds like me and then have it review itself also.

And because I've trained it on how I write and trained it on how I review and given it a rubric, which is totally the teacher in me.

But because I've done those things, it it will write like me and sound like me. And so there's only very minor, like, lookovers that I need to do.

But there's just so much you can do with it and so much you can learn from it that that's where I start. Even something like let's say you're doing sales calls and you're like, man, I hate sales calls or I'm not good at sales calls.

There's a feature in the app in ChatGPT that you can, like, like, talk to it back and forth. And so sometimes I'll ask it to help me practice my sales calls.

And so I'll be like, okay. I have a sales call coming up. Here's who it's with. Here's a little bit about them. Can you pretend like you're them? And we'll just go through the sales call. And so it helps me practice that.

It helps me practice my presentations. I've even used it to, we have these pocket doors in our house. And my I have a four year old, and she pulled the door and she just pulled it a little bit too hard, and it went off the track.

But there's something sticking out that I could not figure out how to get back in. And so in ChatGPT on the app on your phone, you can also do a video.

It's almost like a, like a televisit, something like that. Like, if you're doing a doctor's office, a televisit. But it's like yeah. It's like with a handy person. And so I did a I did the video, and I was like, alright.

Here's what I'm looking at. Here's what happened. How do I fix this? And I was like, oh, here's what you need to try. And I was like, I tried that. It didn't work. It was like, okay. Do this instead.

And it told me exactly what to do. I did it, and I fixed the door in, like, five minutes. And so, I mean, like, I wouldn't have even been able to call someone, get them on the phone, get them scheduled in that amount of time.

And so there's just so much you can do with ChatCPT that a % that's one that I would recommend starting with.

So, like, what does so it does more beyond than just copywriting? Oh, yeah. Absolutely. I mean, anything you need to figure out at all.

Like, for example, I'm just gonna pull it up so I can tell you a few of the things that I've done with it recently. So I have, it's tutoring me in Spanish. It's helping me with some automation. I use it as my health coach.

So, like, anything that's coming up for me health wise, I put it in there. And then I have it for marketing, of course. I also use it to, help me find different things, like, on the Internet that I can't quite find what I'm looking for.

I ask it to help me maximize my revenue. I have questions every once in a while about contracts. I'll put it in there and ask it to help, me understand what I'm looking at in the contract.

If I get an error, like, I got a five twenty error, and I asked it to help me figure out what it was saying to me, what it meant, all of those things. So I use it literally I mean, for meals, I'm making some pasta sauce tonight.

And I say, you know, like, give me a recipe for pasta sauce that's like Michelin star worthy. I wanna make it in the crock pot. I want this and this. I don't have this thing.

I do have this. And it it just helps with all of that. So literally, like, from the time I wake up to the time I go to bed, I use it for everything. And is it free? So there's a free version, a $20 version, and a $200 version.

Most people will get the most out of the $20 version. Most people don't need the $200 version. I use the $200 version because I use it so much, and I train on it. So it makes sense for me.

But for most people, the $20 version is gonna be perfect. If you're just getting started out, the free version is great to start with, but you're gonna run into you'll you'll get better results with the $20 version.

And what does the $200 version do that 20 can't? And is that monthly? Oh, yeah. Monthly. Mhmm. So the $200 version, there's a few things it does.

One, you get access to, like, all the new stuff. So anytime something new comes out, it goes out to the $200 version first. So, again, that's why it's important for me to have that as I'm training people.

But then it also gives more access. So there's different models in chat GPT. There's one called o three, which is more like technical. If you're trying to figure out something with coding, that's gonna be a good one to use.

And then there's four o and 4. 5, and those are great for copywriting. But because 4. 5 is the newest one, that is one that you only have, like, a certain amount of access to.

Or there's a tool called Deep Research where it, like, scours the depths of the Internet to find everything for you and, like, compiles it into a report.

You only get 10 of those per month on the $20 a month plan. But if you're using a $200 a month plan, it's basically unlimited.

So, you basically get more access. And then the other thing that's different is there's a tool called Sora that's by OpenAI. And with Sora, you can create, like, short videos.

If you have a $200 a month one, you can put your face into the video, and it'll make, like, a short, like, five to ten second video of you, like, you know, you from the picture moving, which can be great for social media and stuff like that.

But if you're using the $20 a month version, you can't put your face in it.

Okay. And so what other are there other tools then that you would recommend, or is chat g b t kind of, like, the main that we should look at? Yeah. That's definitely the main one.

Others that I use every day or most I I would say every week, maybe not every day. Gamma. App, I love that one for presentations. That is probably my favorite one right now for presentations and also for creating lead magnets.

So basically, what you what I do is I put in the slide text that I want, which tags ubt helps me create, and then it takes the slide text and turns it into a slide deck.

And it's really quite beautiful. It does a good job, and it uses, an AI tool to create the images for you as well.

So not only does it create slide deck, it also creates these new images too that you can put in there. So gamma dot app is a great one. I use HeyGen and 11 Labs a lot too. 11 Labs, is my voice clone, so it sounds like me.

I use it for podcast episodes. I use it for sending voice messages. I use it for a lot of things, especially for those of you that have kids that are in school right now and they're bringing lots of germs home.

Every year, like, twice a year, I lose my voice for, like, a week and a half. And it's super frustrating, because it used to be that it would just, like, stop me in my tracks.

I wouldn't be able to do anything Even though I would feel better, I my voice was, like, croaky and froggy, and it was terrible. And so I wouldn't wanna record, you know, podcast episodes.

But with this, I can record the podcast episodes still because it sounds just like me. Like, to the point that sometimes I can't remember if I actually recorded it or if it was the AI recording.

Like, it's very, very good. So 11 is what I use for that. And then I also use HeyGen a lot, which is h e y g e n, and I've used that to create my video clone.

So So then I pair my video and voice clone. I've used that to help me create, YouTube videos, reels, and I sometimes I just don't feel like getting that, putting up makeup on, and, like, getting ready for the day and stuff like this.

So with Hagen and Eleven Labs, I'm able to create videos and stuff even when I don't feel like creating videos, or feel like getting ready or I have a lot going on.

So those are the tools that I'm using most frequently right now. There's plenty of other AI tools out there too. Artflow is one I use for AI images.

Artflow is great because it's easy to use and easy to get started with. There's lots of ways to create AI images, but, if you're just starting with AI images, that is my favorite tool to use and recommend.

Okay. So ChatGPT doesn't do image creation? It does. But if you want to actually look like you, then I would use Artflow. And you can actually use Artflow for free too. Oh, cool.

Wow. So my next question is I'm curious your thoughts on, like, how this is how AI is going to impact and change the job markets. And I know this is all hypothetical and prediction based, but I'm curious what where you see this going.

And, specifically I mean, I'm I'm curious about, like, broad, like, employee roles and traditional jobs and all that as well as, freelance freelance roles and how this could kinda speak to the freelancers who are worried like, oh, AI is gonna take all our jobs.

Yeah. So first, I think that it is genuinely a valid concern. Like, I have had that concern as well. I totally get that. And I think if you are learning how to use AI, I think that puts you in a really good position.

So the people that I see most often getting replaced right now by AI are people that are, either unwilling or unable to learn AI or to, like, get into it. They're like, no. I don't wanna learn. I don't wanna learn. I don't wanna learn.

Those are the people that I see that that those that I'm working with, the clients that I have, are saying I need to replace this person because they're not willing to use AI, and so we can't move as fast as we could otherwise because of it.

So the first thing I would say is start learning AI.

Start learning it today. And then, the other things I'm seeing, like, across the board, there are companies, especially because we have a capitalist society, which in a lot of ways is good, in some ways is bad.

But because we live in a capitalist society, the companies that can replace people with AI and with automations and with robots, I think we're gonna see more and more of that in the future.

And I know you might be thinking, oh, crap. Like, that sounds really scary. And, this is one of the reasons I think everyone should have a business.

Everyone should have something that they're like, some kind of freelancing, because that that puts you in charge. Instead of somebody else deciding your fate, as far as your work goes, it puts you in charge.

And so, if you're listening right now and you haven't started your business yet or you don't have a side hustle yet, this is a great time to get started on that.

Like, today is the day. Congratulations. You are now a business owner. Like, get started. But I think, I I think we're gonna see a lot of job loss. But whenever there's job loss, there's also a lot of opportunity too.

So I do think we'll see, I do think we'll see more factory positions available for people working on robotics. And this is a little bit further down the line, but I do think we'll see more robotics in a lot of companies.

I think we'll see people, that know how to use automations and how to set up automations doing really well, and people that know how to implement AI and implement it well, I think we'll see that too.

Because what I'm noticing is a lot of my clients, they don't want to be the ones prompting AI. They don't wanna be the ones setting up the automations. They want those things done, but they don't wanna be the person doing it.

So they know AI can help, but they'd rather hire someone that knows how to use AI, knows how to do those automations to do it for them instead of them learning how.

So a lot of the especially small small to medium businesses, they're not necessarily looking to replace people completely, but they might be looking to cut hours.

They might be looking for more of, like, the one off hires or the, like, project based hires where they can get the automation they need and then either move on to the next automation, which is where you would have some reoccurring revenue, or, or be like, okay.

I'll come back, you know, for another automation in the future. So that's what I'd be looking at as a freelancer is how can I help people make money and save time by offering automation and AI services?

Mhmm. But it also fits like, if that's I don't know. If someone's in online business management or if they're in marketing, there's still going to be a need for those roles.

Like, me as a business owner, like you said, I don't want to take over in Learn AI and feed it and then look at the output and then manage that.

I don't want to do that. I don't care if it's used to like, how we get the final product, but I don't want to be the one to sit down and do that.

So that's still going to be a retainer based service that if you are in marketing, if you're in social media, it it would behoove you to start learning how to use this to help your clients lead them maybe and or just help you, keep up and and run your business.

And think about it too. Like you said, you don't really care how you get from point a to point z. You just want to get to point z.

And so as somebody that like an OBM, for example, a business manager, a project manager, think about how you can use AI and and what you're doing to be able to do things faster because that's kind of the goal.

Right? Because, like, we don't wanna spend all day every day working. Or if you're like, no. I do wanna spend all day every day working.

Like, I wanna do head down. I love you know, I I just wanna do more and more, then it allows you to take on more clients. Or if you're someone that's like, man, I just really want to have evenings free.

I wanna have afternoons free. Like, yesterday, I went to the Springs in the morning, and I like, I didn't need to be at my desk because AI is working for me, and we have some other things in place.

But if you're in if you're in that position where you're like, I just don't wanna be working all the time, this gives you a way to kind of get things done faster so that you have more free time as well, which I think is important.

Yeah. Absolutely. Absolutely. So it's not coming to take all the jobs. I think there's more opportunity potentially with AI in having a freelance service base.

If some of these smaller companies are they still need work done. They still need help Knowing this tool and how to use it, how to leverage it is going to set you apart from other candidates.

I agree. And I think, I think the other thing I'm seeing too with a lot of my clients is that they're able to get more done in less time.

And so now especially the clients that are, like, multi passionate, now they're thinking, what else could I add on that's gonna bring in revenue?

And so that's kind of where I'm thinking of, like, think about how you can save them time, but also think how you can make them money.

So if you help them get everything set up so that it's running pretty smoothly and you need to spend less time on something or they need to spend less on time on something, then that might be a time to introduce like, hey.

I know you also have been interested in this topic also or doing this business as well.

Here's how we can do it and how AI can help us do both of them and both of them well. And so it's a way to introduce entirely new stream of income for them too, which, is I mean, people love that. Yeah. Absolutely.

So how can, a freelancer service provider leverage AI to run their business? Not necessarily, like, how to help and serve their clients, but is there is there ways that this can help them leverage and run and grow grow their business?

For sure. So the first thing that I would do is a time study so that you can actually see what you're spending your time on.

I recommend doing time study for fourteen days, but almost no one that I recommend that to will actually do it for fourteen days.

So four days is the minimum I recommend, four days. And what I'll do is I have a spreadsheet where it's like every fifteen minutes, I have where I can write down in the spreadsheet what I did.

And so I'll have a spreadsheet a sheet up on one tab or on one, screen doing my stuff on the other screen.

And so then I'll write down both personal stuff and also my business stuff as well. And, for every fifteen minutes for four days, I write down everything that I've done.

And what I find usually is that there's definitely some stuff that is being like, time that's being wasted where I'm like, I don't even know what I did during that time.

Like, doom scrolled. I don't know. But the other thing I is that there's a lot of stuff that I'm that I'm, repeating that could be automated.

There's a lot of stuff that could be done faster with AI. And so starting with the time study really gives gives you a clear picture of what you're doing that AI can help with and that automations can help with as well.

So I always start there. And then I look at the day and I think, I always ask myself now, can AI do this for me instead, or can AI help me do this faster, easier, or better?

And it that's, I mean, that's why I use it pretty much all day. So I'll kinda give you a breakdown just on what I did so far today to kinda give you an idea of how I've already used AI today.

So I, woke up and my kiddo was sad about something, so I went to AI to help me give me some ideas on some things that might help with that. And then I looked at my house and I said, we need to do some cleaning.

So I had to come up with a short chart so that, we each have something we can do, and I asked it to gamify it too so it was a little bit more fun. I know that if chores are fun, I'll get them done.

If they're not, I probably won't just to be honest with myself. And, so then the next thing that I did is I dropped her off. I came up with some video scripts for some videos I was doing.

I did the videos. I'm using the videos then with HeyGen to create other videos. And then after that, I, went to the store, had Chad GPT help me come up with a, shopping list, got the stuff back.

As soon as I know this podcast episode, I'm going to make, some pasta sauce using a recipe that Chad GPT came up with for me.

So just in the few things that I've done already today, ChatGPT has pretty much been integrated into every single piece of it.

The other things too that were happening without me doing anything is I have an automation set up that will send me an email with, new updates and AI every day.

So I got that without, you know, having to do anything again. I also have an RSS feed that helps create content for me. And then, also, whenever I, upload a video, it will automatically create content for us as well using chat g b t.

So all those things are happening behind the scenes. Wow. That's incredible. And it's not even it's it just turned 12:00. Like, it's not it just turned to the afternoon.

So a lot yeah. It's just in every part of my life at this point. Yeah. I felt so much resistance. I remember seeing you say, like, it saves you so much time with meal planning and grocery, like, list building and all of that.

And I'm like, I kind of like that, and my kids are picky. But I also spend so much time on Saturday, like, oh, no. Not this.

I'm out of ideas. Then doom scroll on Instagram forever. What you were saying was, like, you like that part. So for me, anything that I like doing, I just keep doing that myself. If I don't wanna on it, then I don't use it for AI.

I don't use AI for it. There's some things, like, some emails that I send that I just wanna send because I enjoy writing those emails. So if there's a that you're like, but I love this, then don't use AI for that.

That's totally fine. But, like, you were saying your kids are picky. So in chat g b t, you can create a project, and you can give it basically instructions of, like, here's the things my kids like. Here are the things they don't like.

Like, don't ever suggest these things. And even something like that where it's, like, helping you come up with new recipes that you haven't done before, that include only the things that your family likes.

Like, that alone can save so much time if you want it to save you time. If that's something you enjoy doing, then, obviously, don't, you know, don't use it for that.

Okay. Awesome. What is Fathom Notetaker? I see it on here. I see it every time I'm on Zoom. I'm like, I how can I even take in the two seconds to Google what this is and how it how it can help?

But I was like, okay. She's here. I'm gonna ask her. Yes. So I use Fathom to, basically, it records this the session, and then it will summarize the session.

It'll also give me the transcript. I can also type in questions like, oh, what did Mikaela say that we're gonna, you know, talk about? Or what did what did she say about this particular thing? I can just type in the questions there.

And then, at the end, if there's any action steps, it'll put what the action steps are. And the reason I really love it is because I set up an automation so that because I have clients that I work with.

So I set up an automation so that as soon as the client call is done, it will automatically send them a recording, so I don't need to remember.

And then also because it sends them the recording, they can also access the homework, anything that we said in there that they wanna revisit.

So instead of having to remember that administrative task of, like, oh, I need to remember to send this to them or them saying, hey. I can't find it.

Can you send it again? They can just search in their email because it automatically sends it, like, literally seconds after the call ends. Oh, wow. That's incredible. And you set that up in the Fathom tool, like, that automation?

No. I I set the automation up in Zapier or Zapier. Oh, okay. Okay. Okay. Got it. Tracking. I know Zapier. That was one thing that I was like, I will never be able to learn. I could never do a Zap.

That's so crazy making one software talk to another. That's I can do Zapier. So Yep. I feel like, at least for me, when I started using it, it was really I found it really challenging, and I felt like kinda the same thing.

I was like, I don't know if I'll ever be able to learn this. And then I left it for a while, and then I came back to it like a few months later, and I was like, alright. I'm gonna try again. And it was so much easier.

I was like, why why did I think this was hard? But it's like that just that first time, it's almost like learning a new language. And then once you're kind of exposed to the language, you're like, oh, I I remember that word.

Right? You know, remember this thing. And so now you're building on the foundation instead of starting from scratch. But I totally felt the same way at the beginning. Yeah. So I'm gonna ask me to wrap wrap up.

This has been so eye opening. I'm excited to kinda dive into some of these tools. For where can people go to come and learn from you, learn with you, how they can really start leveraging AI in in their life and and and their business?

So the best place to go is on Instagram and YouTube. It's women thrive with AI. That's the best place to start.

I have a lot of tutorials there, a lot of good resources there. You'll be able to see my my video clone, and you can tell me if you think it looks like me and sounds like me. But those are the best places to go.

You can also email me, brittany,@impactdrivenai. com, and I'm always happy to help. Yeah. And you've got for people that really wanted to take a commitment into learning this, you have your your membership.

Tell us more about, like, how that works. Yeah. So we have, AI Copy Club, and that's actually what I started way back in the day, a few years ago now.

So we have lots of great resources in there. But it's especially if you wanna learn how to use AI to write copy, write better copy, without it sounding like AI.

That's the best place to go. It's $9 a month. We're actually about to raise the price here soon, but it's really, really affordable and, we just help you.

I mean, copy is, like, such a huge thing. Right? Like, if you, look at reasons people don't sell their offer, one of the biggest reasons is copy is just not there.

It's not good enough. It's not compelling enough. And so it shows you how to do things quickly, do copy quickly with AI, but also, do it well too.

And that's from, like, my copywriting background. And then we have AI 200 k that's more general that helps you, like, walk through every single step of here's how to basically AIify your entire business.

And so we have that as well. Okay. Awesome. And we can get those on your website? Yep. Absolutely. And I can give you the links as well. Yeah. We'll put those in the in the show notes for sure.

Alright, Britney. Thank you so much. It's been so great catching up and just learning more about AI and your transition from teaching to VA to copywriting to now being the leader and the front runner in this AI new new era we're in.

Thanks so much for having me. It was great.
