On October 14th, 2016 Shawn Higgins, his son Trevor, and Trevor's uncle Will were hunting in the Siskiyou National Forest in SW Oregon when Shawn vanished. Shawn knew this section of the forest like the back of his hand. He had been in the area many times as a teenager skipping school to hunt turkeys. Searchers spent 11 days looking for Shawn without finding a single piece of gear or clothing that belonged to him.
