Tom & Joe discuss 'Matthew 26' and the different interpretations that can be found within the second-half of this chapter. We interpret the meaning of having a strong spirit, but weak flesh and how to overcome this. There is also a discussion on whether if you live by the sword, do you actually perish by it as well? Or can you be spared if used justly? Both St. Hilary and St. Rabba offer different opinions on this. The discussion then continues on the power of God and the importance of fate, when Jesus says that his death must come to pass for the greater good of the world.
The closing point from Joe is one that is very profound, and makes you appreciate friendship and brotherhood on a deeper level, where it is said that Peter, after denying Christ three times, was forever changed and lived with sadness in his heart until the very day he was crucified upside down.
