Land of Eem is a tabletop roleplaying published in partnership with indie game publisher, Exalted Funeral. and is about adventurers exploring and discovering the remnants of a forgotten better age. Described as The Lord of the Rings meets The Muppets, players portray lore-seeking travelers, fortune-seeking pioneers, and adventure-seeking heroes in a time devoid of them. But for all its post-apocalyptic doom and gloom, Land of Eem is tonally quite lighthearted and droll.
Dungeoneer Adventures is a fun, middle-grade fantasy adventure series from Simon & Schuster, about the only human kid attending the adventure school, Dungeoneer Academy. The books are packed with illustrations and available at Target, Barnes & Noble, and Amazon, or you can ask for them wherever books are sold.

From a chance encounter with Sven the Yodeling Troll to a daring escape through a portal with the legendary Eye of Ek, our 63-episode Land of Eem Actual Play campaign has been nothing short of a whimsical TTRPG journey. This finale retrospective dives into the wildest moments of Riley and Galen’s adventures across the Mucklins—and the unforgettable cast of characters that grew out of dice rolls and chance encounters.
As we flip through George’s meticulous GM notes, we relive every twist: installing Sklunch as ruler of Orch Die, accidentally creating a nemesis by destroying Shade Wand’s witch lab, and forging lifelong bonds with NPCs like L’Barry Barriton and Zona Imbach. What began as random encounters blossomed into cornerstone relationships that shaped the world around us.
Thanks to the sandbox nature of Land of Eem, our choices built thriving settlements, sparked corporate rivalries between SPL and Azimuth Corp, and turned a simple yacht into a legendary home (complete with infinite noodles). We braved the Dirt Nap Dunes, navigated epic battles, and eventually fled with one of the world’s most coveted treasures as level 10 adventurers wielding legendary artifacts.
This episode is both a love letter to our campaign and a celebration of what makes Land of Eem a family-friendly RPG: lighthearted fun, meaningful consequences, and the joy of emergent storytelling. Join us as we laugh, reminisce, and roll dice one last time to seal the fates of beloved NPCs.

Campaign Recap Introduction
Speaker 1Hey, hey, happy Saturday, gentlemen, happy Saturday.
Speaker 2Pretty classic. Today we are rehashing our like 63, 64, 63 episodes.
Speaker 3Yeah, yeah, 63 or 64. That's, that's wild weird stuff.
Speaker 2You know we're recapping the entire campaign because we ended it suddenly last week. We want to give it a good send-off. We're going to go over George's copious notes because he has a ton of them. We're just going to hang out, we're going to talk about the campaign. Probably also going to talk about game mechanics, playtesting, maybe things that we learned over the course of the campaign, that type of thing. You know, we'll get George and James's thoughts on their classes. Yeah.
Speaker 1And all that good stuff and if I mean if time permits, we should also like resolve some npc stuff with roles. I think that'd be really fun figure out what happened, what happened to these folks? What happened? To these guys, there's a lot I've forgotten and george's notes is gonna really like it's gonna be amazing to go through there's a lot in the notes where I'm just like I don't know that I remember any of this.
Speaker 3But that's fine. Fine, that's the point of being here.
Speaker 1I am most excited about partially constructed sentences that have little nuggets of what was there and what happened, and then trying to decipher them or awakening our brains to remember Also those who are just joining us.
Speaker 1We're talking about a campaign of Land of Eam. That's our RPG that was inspired by the Rickety, stitch, stitch and gelatinous graphic novel series. Um, you can download the game for free at land of eemcom it'sa. It's a beta version and you'll also get updates on the upcoming uh kickstarter and uh plug over, let's hang. Where can I find that? Every time you say that?
Speaker 2every time you say that, every time you say that.
Speaker 1Sorry my throat. Whistling at the end of Ben Costa. Breathe deep man Breathe deep.
Speaker 3Yeah, george, phil, phil Phil time.
Speaker 2Phil time. Every time you say that it sounds like we just made a game based on someone else's thing. Oh that's thing, oh that's yeah, that's a good point.
Speaker 1Rickety says you. A graphic novel series created by Ben and myself inspired our own game that takes place in the world of EME, where Rickety dwells and who wrote Land of EME, who really wrote it.
Speaker 3You know um, you know canon. I think the gelatinous grew wrote Land of Eam.
Speaker 1Who really wrote it? You know Canon, I think the gelatinous goo wrote Land of Eam, that's my belief.
Speaker 2With a heavy dose of P Gandy Gannerman. Yeah, p Gandy Gannerman, gnome Loremaster. Oh Anyway, sorry for that aside Story. Georgie boy, why don't you dive into your notes? You're? Going to dive in and, as James said, we'll like you know, like all right, what happened to this thing. Let's see.
Speaker 3Let's see. So do we ever title our campaign?
Speaker 2No, it's campaign one.
Speaker 3Campaign. It sucks, let's see. Do we ever title our campaign? No, it's campaign one Campaign.
Speaker 1Sucks. How about just something simple like the adventures of Riley and Galen?
Speaker 2Makes sense Makes a lot of sense.
Speaker 3All right, let's see. Should we go through all the items? No, we can do that. We can do later let's do the yeah let's, let's start. I have very little memory of it all it all begins around the crack, like so many things in land of beam uh the first things in life yeah and life.
Speaker 3the first thing I have written down is geargar, who I, I remember was a dwarf and he was a big wig around the crack. I have Beast Snatcher. I think he was stealing people's beasts. Oh, that's right. And then there was a Red Tooth, yaljet Clan, causing trouble, and then that was the beginning of my boxing career.
Speaker 1What's the beginning, right, I'm going to restart my camera, but I'm still here.
Speaker 2that was the beginning of my boxing career Right, yeah, I'm going to restart my camera, but I'm still here. I think what happened there was um. That's not the very beginning of the campaign, but that's what I figured. That's just the first notes I have, cause it was uh as I recall, the first thing that happened was you guys were leaving Krogland headed South. That's right, I see. And then I think you went to Marshgate and Sven the Yodeling Troll was like bothering everyone.
Speaker 3Yeah, sven, the Yodeling Troll was bothering everyone.
Speaker 2Yes, and so we went into the quagmash. Yeah, and you convinced him to like start a bridge at the crack.
Speaker 3Yeah, that's why we had to go to the crack. How funny it's. Uh, maybe I wasn't thinking of taking notes originally, and then I started to do it yeah, I mean, the first time we played was very uh off the cuff I mean expecting it to be a giant campaign correct me if I'm wrong.
Speaker 1Sven, the yodeling troll was a random encounter, yes, uh yeah which then became an, became an NPC that we would go and visit several times.
Speaker 3He was our buddy, you know. We owe him our many riches, our bank accounts, because of him.
Speaker 2And then Girgar. He was like what was the deal His? Deal was he was getting bored and he wanted a new hunt. Yeah, he was like.
Speaker 3Oh, he was hunting us.
Speaker 1Yeah, he was hunting us, because man is the most dangerous game, of course.
Speaker 2So he gave you a head start and then he chased you into the quagmash. Yep, oh, and that's all good. I feel like L Barry Burriton was with you by then.
Speaker 1Yes, he was a random encounter. We met him. Like also, he was a random encounter.
Speaker 3You see, what happened is is people are in a different place on my list, so they aren't necessarily all woven in there.
Speaker 1that's funny, um, but yeah, I want to read every person in a row and see if I can survive it.
Speaker 3Like for the amount of randomness, like well, I kept updating the list so I kept crossing people off, so I think people would just disappear. But uh, we'll go back for some goodies. Um, let's see. All right, so that is. I think my favorite memory from there is is boxing with the ljx, just like beating him up.
Speaker 2You do have an affinity for boxing things, yeah yeah, I always say can I punch them?
Speaker 3and then can I called shot punch them Is my next question.
Speaker 1Right in the brain.
Speaker 3Let's see Along the way. When we were going back to Marshgate, we encountered a small group of pocket fiddler spiders, and that's all I have written down about that Just a small group of pocket fiddler spiders pocket fiddlers, by the way.
Speaker 1So one of my favorite parts of the beginning of the campaign was the conflict that we had with geargar in quagmash because it led to meetings glunch.
Speaker 3Oh yeah, yeah, this glunch is the best he had, heart man that yeah, sklunch, um.
Speaker 2And then there was like a battle with muck men and gear gar and he like tried to because the muck men were going to attack marsh gate or something. And he like kind of like we like the two conflicts together yeah, we created like watch our enemies destroy each other's yeah, but that's when elberryry barryton got separated from the group. We thought he was dead yeah, and then you guys took sklunch to orchstai and like met l barry barryton again in the crowd.
Speaker 3Yeah, yes, because we were separated from him and that was a big issue. He had lost him.
Speaker 1I remember making jokes that he was like Kurtz in like Dark of Darkness, tahara, tahara.
Speaker 2Are you an?
Speaker 1assassin.
Speaker 2And then at Orchstire I remember you guys propelled Sklunch into power with his battle against the big Orch yeah.
Speaker 1One of our finest moments in the campaign.
Speaker 2I think it was. I'm trying to think yeah.
Speaker 3I mean, I remember all this. I'm surprised I didn't write more of that down. But again, I guess this was in the beginning of when we started playing. Is that the whole Sklunch thing was just an epic arc Skl down. But again, I guess this is the beginning of when we started playing. Is that the whole, the whole sklunch thing was just an epic art?
Speaker 1yeah, he was with us for a long time, but the was skunch with us when we blew up the witch's house oh, no, that I think, was he too afraid of us yeah, maybe, but like remember, like there was.
Speaker 3He did travel with us a lot.
Speaker 2It's all relative, I think, though. Yeah, I guess it's true. It felt like a lot in the beginning. It was probably like four sessions.
Speaker 3Yeah, it was the entire first season. It was the Sklunch arc.
Speaker 2I don't know if he was with you, with the witch?
Speaker 3I don't know either he was with you with the witch, I don't know either. Yeah, how funny. So all that stuff was gotta be multiple episodes. And then we we had uh, the next note I have is D Ichabod Icky Lundy lunch date tomorrow in Marshgate that we kept putting up. That's so funny.
Speaker 1We now don't give me. We were meant to have lunch with that guy multiple times throughout the campaign, or?
Speaker 3yeah, that was it just a?
Speaker 1running gag that we always had, like a lunch this is.
Speaker 3This is the first mention of it, and I think we just like kept reminding ourselves we need to go have lunch with this guy and it like became like stretched out.
Speaker 2It was a random encounter where, like, there's a gnome on the road.
Speaker 1Yeah, yeah, yeah, it was a discovery right.
Speaker 2It's like a positive yeah I think l barry barreton might have been in the cage l barry, because I remember that being like something I've seen in a previous campaign too yeah.
Speaker 3Yeah, nominate Cage Right. This is all over the place. I don't know if this is actually the results of the lunch date, because I have a couple of bullet points below it. The last tree in the used to be forest. The green gallivanters are trying to think of something to save it.
Speaker 2There was a contact, J Spinky.
Speaker 3Nabernutty withty with no notes. Yeah, he was just telling you to go to the last. Yeah, so I think this is actually the last tree.
Speaker 2Right, that's something you never did, and so yeah repercussions of that will be rolled right now wait, wait.
Speaker 3We sent, no, no, we sent lundy to go there and we said we'd meet him.
Speaker 1I feel like we several times we tried to skirt it by sending people to go help. There was Lundy, and then we sent the logjam Gundam to. Yeah, that's true, we did. So that'll be plus one.
Speaker 2I don't know, I'm just going to give it a flat roll because, yeah, that's true, we did so. That'll be plus one, yeah, yeah, yeah, I don't know. I'm going to give it a flat roll because you were told on many occasions what to do. There was one thing he had to do was get a dryad heart.
Speaker 3Yep, it has to be given freely and the stump witch up north was in possession of one versus. We could persuade a river dryad in the river country, but yeah, those fell by the wayside.
Speaker 2So this flat roll is all based on the mech. I forget his name, the Wisp.
Speaker 3I'm sure I have it somewhere.
Speaker 1Oh yeah, Johnny Appleseed.
Speaker 2Here we go. It's a seven Success with a twist. Oh yeah, johnny Appleseed. Yeah, here we go. Seven. Success with a twist.
Speaker 3Maybe the tree itself died, but rose. I guess sprout is already starting.
Speaker 2I feel like that would be a failure. Yeah, it's a failure with a plus.
Speaker 1The tree lives but the twist is many green gallivanters died. The wisp animates it. Now the wisp is turned into a beamkin.
Speaker 2I'm going to say the tree is still alive, but the wisp has been corrupted by the force within.
Speaker 1Oh geez.
Speaker 3Okay, okay.
Speaker 1I get like a Mecca Godzilla out there.
Speaker 3Yeah.
Speaker 1Trees out doing the opposite. Corrupted wisps. That's terrible. Yeah.
Speaker 3So yeah, then the next note I have is I think this is more of a general note was searching for serpent men who were outside our town, and then I have act. It's probably the first time we kind of started to bring up the eye of ec and then we heard there were sightings in the quagmash. Um, let's see. This is followed up with get rid of shade wand the witch. I don't know if that means we need to get rid of shade wand. That's yeah.
Speaker 3I think we hadn't gotten rid of shade one yet no, we blew up her house, though we like destroyed her labs, so maybe that was we had gotten rid of her um, you didn't get rid of her.
Speaker 2No.
Speaker 3Well, like she. Yeah, she became like a.
Speaker 1I remember joking that we like created a substantial villain for ourselves because we destroyed her operation, but then fled immediately.
Speaker 2That's one thing that I never successfully weaved back in. Yeah. I was always waiting for her to start cackling and rematerialize or something yeah, I was always waiting for her to start cackling and rematerialize or something.
Speaker 1What happened was, you guys went to her like hovel and she has a giant cauldron and you like made it blow up in like a huge geyser oh yeah, I think we like dumped a bunch of stuff together, like or maybe that was a different quest she was was producing witch breath that was emanating all throughout the Quagmash.
Speaker 3So here's something interesting A little bit farther down there's a witch breath passage to Gator Maze. I feel like that's what we took right.
Speaker 2Yeah, you guys went to Sinkhole.
Speaker 3Yeah, we went to Sinkhole At some point. This is where we pick up Zona Inbok. I don't remember how we picked up Zona Inbok.
Speaker 2I don't remember it was a random encounter.
Speaker 3Really God.
Speaker 2That's Well. I mean, it makes sense.
Speaker 1This entire campaign came out of the Mucklin sandbox setting, so it's like not crazy that there's a lot of random encounters that have been essentially forged long-term relationships over the course of a year's worth of gameplay.
Speaker 3I'm pretty sure his name is even in the encounter. Really, I'm pretty sure I love the idea that someone else in their campaign will come across their own version of Zoni M'Bach. It'll be one of his sons.
Speaker 1We are many, we are a legion.
Speaker 2Yeah, he is a Mucklin's Quagmash Discovery. You meet a mushroom named zona imbach. You're the first outsiders they've ever met and would like to observe you, if you don't mind that makes sense why he's following us.
Speaker 1Yeah 60 quests later would like. He's writing articles for Dungeoneer Magazine in Bogtown. That's great.
Speaker 3It's fun stuff. God he's such a fun part of the whole campaign.
Speaker 2He's a fun guy, if you will, he's a fun guy.
Speaker 1Yeah, he is.
Speaker 2Thanks for setting that, george, that was great you know that's what I do.
Speaker 3I'm just looking out, set them up, knock them down. Um, wow, you're my Conan O'Brien. Uh, there is a slarm eel king parentheses clench dragons.
Speaker 1I kind of remember this king parentheses clench dragons. I remember this was that?
Speaker 3feel like that was like a mess of a thing in in down in sinkhole. Like we went in and there was a mining operation plagued by slar mules and then we didn't we lock it into a. There was a cage, those were slurp worms. Okay, the slurp worm queen. Oh, that's next.
Speaker 1Yeah the slurp worm queen this is all together. Because three lines later I have slurp worm problemos solved.
Speaker 3So that was when we locked the slurp worm. Queen Wait wait, wait.
Speaker 1That's what the note actually says.
Speaker 3I wrote Slurpworm problemos dash solved. That's awesome.
Speaker 1I love it.
Speaker 3And then there was Drum Dangdower, who I think might have been something in Sinkhole, and then there was a Spithra named Ezrak Leem yeah, he's the foreman the foreman. Yeah, so they were getting plagued by slurpworms and then we were able to trick the queen into getting inside a cage and then throwing it in the elevator and dragging it up and bringing it outside Right, let's see Then.
Speaker 3Witch Breath Passage to Gator Mage uh, gator maze. Okay, so then that was, that was part of somewhere deep in the minds, right, there was a, a passage. Yeah, there was like with witch breast emanating out of skeletons as well.
Sklunch's Rise to Power
Speaker 1Skeleton miners yep just make a note that gator mage is also awesome and we yeah, I'm the gator mage babe come on there's one fan art of gator mages, like there was fan art of, like, alligator loki.
Speaker 3It's like the same, the same energy you know gator mage canon. Uh, lillian gar a boggart was one of the puddle jumpers who were conservationists. We encountered her at some point in this part of the quest.
Speaker 2I don't think anyone's telling you that you should not kill the slurp worms that tracks.
Speaker 3That's probably why we tried to put it in the cage and get it out of there. Right. Just slurp worm, Apologies you there, Right? Just slurp worm, apologies, you know. Wow, there were some rumors of Sarpathic coming out of the Quagmash, so questionable where it was from. Like was it from the Underlands? They had been seen near Marshgate, and those are just some more rumors that we heard While we were heading towards the witch. We meant Wego the vampire, who we convinced to join us.
Speaker 1You are about to buzz in the flies to him.
Speaker 3Yeah, go ahead.
Speaker 2There was also a gnome. Does that come next?
Speaker 3Next line P Mibby Wopdittle. Yeah, I don't did you. Does that come next? Next line p maybe wop diddle? Yeah, I don't, I don't. I remember the gnome sacrifice.
Speaker 1Reading the names like really just delights me every time like, because like part of it is also like.
Speaker 3you have said a name to me and then I have tried to spell it out phonetically in a way that it makes sense to me. They're not always like All these gnome names are just off the dome. Yeah, they're off the dome, baby.
Speaker 2That's how you get P-Middy whopped at home.
Speaker 3What do you mean? There's a P Walter Mitty. Isn't that a Ben Stiller movie?
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 3Or something.
Speaker 2Maybe that's in the recesses of my brain, yeah.
Speaker 3I do remember, though, that didn't Wego start to turn on us and then P Mimby Wapdittle sacrificed himself, yeah, like, and then we were blinded, or something like that. Riley was blinded briefly, I had might've been where I got hearing damage. Okay, I think there's some lasting injury yeah. There is like a massive explosion of power. I do remember that that's not in the notes, but that's just like pulling at my brain strings.
Speaker 2Yeah, but he survived, I think, did he.
Speaker 3Yeah, didn't he tell us to run basically, while he held him off? We basically got separated.
Speaker 2I feel like he might have gone with you to Shade Wands, except he didn't go inside because he was oh, because he had no beef with her right. There was some reason where he was like it was sort of like his Organa, the Unicorn thing in Grimley Wood. Like I cannot go beyond this point, His Organa.
Speaker 1The Unicorn is in Rickety Stitch Book 1. Rickety Stitch Book 1 reference.
Speaker 3Written by James Parks and Ben Costa.
Speaker 2Yeah, you know, we're not just making a game inspired by someone else's stuff.
Speaker 1It's our world. You can check it out. Land of Eamcom.
Speaker 3They're making the game inspired by their own stuff At some points.
Speaker 1It makes us sound like we're lunatics, I think based on is a better. Yeah, there's a better way of We've waffled on how to present it like that, like from the beginning. You know, I don't know this takes place in the same world as rickety stitch. So if you like land beam or if you like rickety stitch, check them out.
Speaker 3You like anything we're saying right now. You'd like that? All right, um. Next was there was a minor I think this might have been a random encounter who told us about a rumor that there was a war between orches and muck men going on to the north. So this is we had already left quag or um orch die and, like you know, I think we returned to orch die. If I'm not mistaken, that was part, that was what it was.
Speaker 3We were bringing him back home I know what happened yeah, okay, go ahead, because I I have like figments of it, but not entire thoughts.
Speaker 2I think at one point you talked to big orch right and oh you to go to shade ones, andade Ones, and in return.
Speaker 3They would help fight the Muckmen. Yes, because were we trying to save Marshgate? That's what it was. Yeah, oh See, all the notes eventually make sense.
Speaker 2So Sklunch was still with you?
Speaker 3He had not taken over big orchid. He hadn't taken over from big or because that's coming up, um, but sklunch, I don't know that he was still with us, didn't he stay in orchid I?
Speaker 2I don't think so.
Speaker 3I think he went with you to like build his courage was he with us when shade one died or when shade one became like? I think he might've actually been there.
Speaker 1Yeah, there was like something about like we were trying to build his legend, like he could challenge Bay or two and others.
Speaker 3Right the legend of scrunch.
Speaker 1Well, really book series in 2040.
Speaker 2So at this point, l Barry barryton is still missing. You still have no idea where he went, because I remember you found him, like during the battle of big oh with him, with him, yeah, yeah, yeah, he was like in the mud.
Speaker 3No, I remember there being, there being a muddy Elberry.
Speaker 2Berry, I think James used like old chums.
Speaker 3Oh, that's right. Oh right, you willed him back into our world.
Speaker 1While I still have that power. Speaking of power, that's a power that I wish I kind of took, that I kept. Oh, instead of like letting it go, Well not really, instead of I don't know, it would have been helpful.
Speaker 3Yeah, it was a good creative ability I had intended, if we ever got beyond level 10, I intended to get it again. Yeah, circle back around for it.
Speaker 1Yeah, spend.
Speaker 3XP on it yeah 40 XP yeah 40 XP unlike. Totally worth it um, the next line I have is which, with a subheading reawakening the gloom. I have no idea, that shit would have been? Yeah, I mean, I imagine so, but is it? Is it that we blew her up already, or is she trying to reawaken the gloom?
Speaker 2Yeah, that was her goal. Okay, she's like creating her own concoction of gloom.
Speaker 3This is an interesting line next, because I think it. I think it'll explain itself, but it says it must have been when we were having a campfire convo. Galen just wants what's best for Riley and is worried that she'll fall into old habits when she sees that cape again.
Speaker 2Whoa Wildar, wildar it's, gotta be Wildar baby it's gotta be Wildar. Man, he took a turn, didn't he? Yeah?
Speaker 1I mean he went to like you know About 40 pounds when he came to the next D.
Speaker 3He was like Fat Thor, but we never saw the redemption arc. Yeah, yeah he was like Fat Thor, but like when Riley and Galen are off in Eppley. Maybe that's when he becomes the hero that the you know Mucklins deserve.
Speaker 2He mounts FB.
Speaker 3Yeah, yeah, he takes FB in my stead, hmm. So yeah, I guess I don't know if that was the first mention of Wildar. He was in our backstories at some point, right Like that's probably why we brought him up, and started yeah, and then we must have just like, can't fart it out yeah, probably uh, let's see. Is it the kobold in quotes? The old place, which must be a location? Uh, in the drippy downs, a warlock searching for a can of sport. Sport, what sporg. I like that.
Speaker 1You knew exactly what it was supposed to be yeah and a sporg, and then there was the name we need like a little bit of hints to like reawaken what it is, because I do know what everything is but it's all dormant it's so much that I can't remember it, unless you know I get a walk through yeah, I think that we met.
Speaker 3Is it the kobold and he gave us? These are just some leads, and the next one is nameless lake. There are fell mog outriders that have been disappearing while searching for something, so those are just probably both rumors that we may or may not ever have followed up on I think we did pursue that because that's how, uh, the red axe man, that's how like you got your axe is like that, oh that was nameless lake.
Speaker 3We ran into the jail of the red axe. Yeah, nice. Um. Then the next line is or Orch died, big Orch died, chaos in the power vacuum. So this is definitely when we get Sklunch into power, right?
Speaker 2For your puppet regime.
Speaker 3I mean we never abuse that, you know we want him. What was best for Sk puppet regime? I mean we never abused that, you know we. Just we wanted what was best for Sklunch. A small orc could be big orc too, you know, he's got big, big heart.
Speaker 2Yeah, that, that makes sense, and you never did go back to visit him.
Speaker 3Yeah, it was always on my, like my list.
Speaker 1Let's roll to see if we're still friends or foes.
Speaker 3Yeah, Well, let's roll to see if Sklunch is still in power, and then let's also roll to see if.
Speaker 1Burberry. Burrington is here. I need him to be in power. That would be rough if he wasn't.
Speaker 3I think, it's more Burberry.
Speaker 2Burrington will give him a plus one.
Speaker 3That's what I was going to say. I think that having him there is going to make it yeah.
Speaker 1He's his worm tongue.
Speaker 3Yeah, yeah. Another seven. Swimming in sevens man, I'm going to use two quest points to make that nine Wow.
Speaker 2So he is still in power.
Speaker 3But you know, there's rumblings, there's conflict and, uh, he's got some ride gonna be another, another, yeah, fight for I'd like to believe that he's already fought off two assassination attempts and has furthered his legend. But it was actually elberry baritone who kills these people in the night. He's like gone full feral gnome. He's a king's master. Yeah, yeah, yeah, exactly exactly. He's just found new purpose in life.
Speaker 1Protect the king at all costs he went from this like woodland gnome yeah now he's. Now he's like he's in the imperial court. He's trying to make, make it happen.
Speaker 3He only speaks in.
Speaker 1Orc, it's Game of Thrones out there.
Speaker 3Yeah, thumps his chest a lot.
Speaker 1Lord. Varys, or whatever. That or his little finger? Is it harem, oh jeez, harem of Orches, oh it's rough.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 3Moving on.
Speaker 2I'll make a note of that. Oh, my God.
Speaker 1I'm going to die.
Speaker 3We in our travels. After that, we met two quartals, odd and Dwin, who gave us an Egg of Insight.
Speaker 1I remember the Egg of Insight. I do not remember the Quartal interaction.
Speaker 3Yeah, I remember the Quartals. You traded the Egg of. Insight right yeah, we traded the Egg of Insight later to Wazinski.
Speaker 1Yeah, Wazinski, oh right.
Speaker 3Yeah, it was to sweeten the deal. Oh yeah, that's coming up.
Speaker 2That's coming up, the inside it was a powerful very powerful, yeah, and that was so.
Speaker 3That was a big trade it felt, I mean, like it felt like it was giving away a lot, but it was an easy way to, um kind, make that in that pot.
Speaker 3Yeah, but let's let's make our way over to that. So so we found out at that point that crazy Ernie had locked himself in his mansion. So we must've gone back to Marshgate Marshgate, right. Because it says Vera is seeking his patronage, she's worried something's going on with him. We must have gotten okay. So this fast forwards a little bit because it next says gail ribaldo bogrell, medicine maker, that's sweating profusely and is somewhat of a grifter.
Speaker 2Yeah, so because we're inside inside and it was a random dungeon that, yeah, really pushed you to your limits.
Speaker 3Yeah, that was like three seconds yeah, right it was exhausting and, like we as players, were exhausted by it in a you know, an inappropriate way. Um, although it was your love interest I was gonna say this is the beginning of of galen's many like dumb love interests. It never amounted to anything because, I as a player would never like go that far with it, but she was a little bit crazy.
Speaker 2She was like, wasn't she like a little bit like bat caca. She's a little stalkery.
Speaker 3Yeah, yeah, that got awkward. And then she did, she or did she not try to, and this may have happened by going with with zoning.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1I was going to say.
Witch Breath and Sarpathy Encounters
Speaker 3I can't remember if this has happened more than once, but it definitely happened.
Speaker 1God, I was just about to say it feels like it's happened more than once to me, but like I don't know why that is oh.
Speaker 3God, I love it. It's so good.
Speaker 1That's funny.
Speaker 2Just like zone in boxach, like acting like kip from napoleon dynamite yeah oh god.
Speaker 1Oh God.
Speaker 2That's classic. So in Crazy Ernie's mansion you discover that he was captured by Serpathy.
Speaker 3Yes, the note in Crazy Ernie's closet references that. It says got no legs but ain't a broken chair. Sure got teeth but ain't got no hair Down down to a temple by the the sea. Someone come and help little old me now. Is that, is that like already in the the sandbox or did you make that up somehow on the spot?
Speaker 2I added that part.
Speaker 3I wasn't on the spot, but it was you'd planned a little bit because I think we like found out to the sandbox. It's in the sandbox now. Oh, it's in the sandbox now.
Speaker 2How exciting canon canon uh, yeah, a lot of this stuff is like you know, some of this is there, but then, like, based on our play, I'll like add stuff to it's awesome.
Speaker 3Then I just have. I think at this point we were kind of waffling between Vera the math magician who was, with unassailable co and taskmaster done do, who was from SPL I don't know if we were we were trying to figure out who we'd return crazier into Right. I think that was the yeah, cause they're you know they're rivals rivals.
Speaker 2Yeah, because they're you know they're rivals, yeah, rivals, and they offered you different things and it would have helped them better establish control over marsh gate.
Speaker 3Um, something that makes me sad is that we I don't know that we ever followed up on this, but in our travels to the next location we found a love letter to marla from nam uh expressing regret and sorrow, and he feels that he may have died in vain on an errand for the stain of munch. We did not resolve that I don't I think that's just been.
Speaker 3That's in my pack we never even went there to that no, like we filed it away and we were debating like figuring out a way to deal with it.
Speaker 1But if we pursued every thread, we would be playing this campaign for seven years yeah, yeah, it's just like at some point we had to triage what's really important.
Speaker 3Yeah, um, yeah. So that was just a random thing on the way to where we're going, which was actually um and I don't know if this was. Well, here's the thing, right. This is when we find encounter old noggin, aka lumply pender goose, who was a goblin by the hell growth mine. And then he said to us in I quote lord orfong, he did it and then he said to us in, I quote Lord Orphan, he did it.
Speaker 2So some, somehow you were, did you get sent to Hell? Growth Mine.
Speaker 3I don't like a room it must have. So yes, it was probably a rumor, but I don't know why we were following up on it. Hmm, up on it, but I know that he had like lost his dang mind and, yeah, was telling us that like he was the rightful owner of spl right, um, he said, oh no, azimuth corp I don't know, that
Speaker 3he knew that yeah right, we discovered that yeah, we found official paperwork from the Azimuth Corp, a now-dated big player with a city and dunk built around their corp, firedamp 2, whatever that means. It says sabotage by SPL. However, there's no hard proof. And then we found Regal Munduple's sketchbook and T Orfang's cufflinks which was like I think that was like a really really high search check or something to find T or Fong's cufflinks.
Speaker 3T or Fong's, because it was like very much pointing at like you know, yeah, so at this point, with Old Noggin in tow, we must have gone to SPL, because the only thing I have written next is just the words goblin resourcerer. And I remember like thinking that was the funniest thing when we were like walking through their human resources department or whatever resourcerer yeah, uh yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2So you went back to spl. That's when you met elmo, who was in the suit. Oh yeah, I got.
Speaker 3I got notes on this, I got this. So vice punisher destina. Brink, that's a thing now. Uh, was in ski beef with brink. This is brink's baby initiative to take down grimly wood. Need lumber to supply tunnels close off the crack. Preserve crack as a historic monument question mark.
Speaker 1So I think that was our plan it might have been I don't know what that means really that means like since the beginning we've been trying to make crack its own like city. We've been like funneling resources and people to that location.
Speaker 3Yeah, um our homestead ended up being in the crack yeah, it's pretty crazy like I love that the crack became just like a place of I don't know like to always return to, and it was consistently growing as a, as a concept like sven, building a bridge.
Speaker 3Like creating a business, the, the jacks like, yeah, forming a society where you are the alpha right, uh, yeah, this is where we were sneaking around in there and met elmo, who was in the orfong suit. He would just go into meetings in this orfong suit and sit there menacingly and then leave without singing Because Lord Orfang, I guess, was dead. But they were still running the company. Except for Wazinski, I guess right yeah.
Speaker 2But then, yeah, so you talked to Elmo once you guys were in the room. I think you're rooting around in the files and you found the proof that Noggin was the owner of Asmuth Corporation.
Speaker 1So it's like owed reparations.
Speaker 2Oh, and also the proof that Orfang destroyed the company Destroyed the company.
Speaker 3Yeah, we make a deal, as this cufflink was literally there. It was literally him in the holy growth mine with a candlestick. Um, we make a deal with wazinski to give her an egg of insight in exchange for her helping stop destina's brink. Um, she tells us we need to go to log jam and stop something within two months to disrupt a shipment of goods for destina's master plan.
Speaker 2And then this is yeah, go ahead well, there was something before you talked to wazinski. You guys put on I think you both put on the costume yes, that's right oh, that's right, we wore the suit?
Speaker 3we did wear the suit. Didn't we say there was like a voice changer or something? Because I remember we spoke as yeah, or like riley was doing some trickery check I think she was on your shoulders, because it's like a tall costume yeah yeah, it's like bumped your head on the scene two kids in a trench coat kind of thing?
Speaker 2yeah, definitely two kids in a trench coat are you like bumped into the door as you guys were leaving?
Speaker 1Yeah, oh yeah, and like no one would laugh or something. It's like so awkward, I love it, it's funny, oh man, yeah, so that's when you guys needed to go to log jam, did you?
Speaker 3do that later. We did that substantially later, right? Yeah, yeah, because we went to dunk.
Speaker 1Yeah, we went to. Yeah, we went to dunk. And that's how. And that's how we get the, the whole sarpathy Temple and the Golden Wyvern stuff. Yeah.
Speaker 2Just for reference here, you guys were at SPL HQ and then you traveled all the way over here to Dunk.
Speaker 3Yeah, we went down to the river and sailed up it, I believe.
Speaker 2Oh yeah, because you went to mucklin's harbor to drop off old noggin yeah, well, we're close.
Speaker 3So we traveled south to mucklin's. Well, let's see, found a massive saw with adamant teeth covering growth not made by spl gray-eyed gargoon who had the boggarts of munch forge him a saw at the dawning of the dungeon era hundreds of years ago. So we get that saw working again. I think we wanted to bring it to the crack. Um, we traveled south to mucklin harbor via way of bog watch old boggart woman yeah, in armor standing outside yeah oh my gosh.
Speaker 3This is a very short sentence on what happened. So um trungle was an old boggart woman. She's reporting vandalizing rapscallions on the way to dunk on the bridges. Torch adopted orch son. Maybe we can escort in their way back through lockdown. Drop them off. I don't remember if we actually escorted them, but paladin ponderwald, a bulwark, and claudia his chicken I remember this escorted us south to Mucklin Harbor, and dies in combat with pirates.
Speaker 2You guys were assaulted by pirates in the middle of the night. That was a rough loss.
Speaker 3We lost him and that's where we got Claudia yeah.
Speaker 2What a life she lived.
Speaker 3What a life she lived. She got transmuted, combined with the lizard who breathes fire and mutagen all over her. Yeah, uh, secret of the use baby. Yeah, um, then there's a couple of different things, like goddy worth farthing. Uh, goblin traveler we happened upon from beasel birth. Marshall viner ah, he was a felmug knight and owner of black, of the black galleon in. He was a Felmug Knight and owner of the Black Galleon in Mucklin Harbor. So I guess at this point, yeah, we had gotten as part of the deal with Wazinski, we paid off Noggin and we were escorting him with his wheelbarrow yeah, he was like the richest guy in Mucklin for a half hour, yeah, right until he got to Malkin harbor and bought a giant ship yeah
Speaker 3and we hear the. This is the first we hear of the rumor of wally of waffles in warg fame and him stashing a treasure on terror island. There's a little, a little uh nugget to lead us down that road later. Um, at this point we go up the river, we meet Urchley Murgle. She's a quartal sellsword with shackles around her ankles and all she cares about is this golden wyvern in the high wilds which is extremely poisonous and still on the loose. There's Shelly the captain, and then, oh God, okay, so we get in trouble with troggles, we're sailing up the river and we get like basically, your notes are getting like really uh, more detailed by this point yeah, this is.
Speaker 3This is where. This is where we're starting to get in, like everything is being.
Speaker 1This is about the time where it becomes work.
Speaker 3Yeah, yeah I gotta keep up with this.
Speaker 1We gotta take this seriously now.
Speaker 3Yeah, it's a little bit easier to follow this now, but yeah, the the troubles or we, we have to get off the ship. I don't remember why, but I know we end up encountering troubles. Yeah, I think I don't know.
Speaker 1I think the river ends. It's literally on the map the river. I think the river ends. It's literally on the map.
The Journey to Dunk and the Sewers
Speaker 2The river. There might have been some reason why I think it was just dangerous.
Speaker 3It was dangerous. I think that, oh, you know what that must have been. The note about Reports are vandalizing rapscallions on the way to dunk. Maybe that was.
Speaker 3Oh maybe Just a reason they wouldn't go far. I can't remember. But what's interesting is we ran into trouble with troggles. I have. Uh, the next thing is ok, the troggle, so we must have encountered one. And then loka, his mate and leader of their tribe, was kidnapped by ek and we're like, hey, sarpathy, we got to deal with this. Turns out it was Unda who was poisoned by Ek and terrorizing other tribes, and that was in the cave in the High Wilds. No, no, no. This was like maybe in. Let me go to the map.
Speaker 2This is where you know.
Speaker 3Yeah, this is where we nuke the whole clan from orbit with a seed of hurricanes. This is awesome. We leveled like three hexes.
Speaker 2It was because you guys snuck into a pretty hostile situation. There was a cult of Ek and a bunch of troggles who were about to sacrifice Loka and maybe some other troggles.
Speaker 3Right right.
Speaker 2And if you didn't do that, you guys were probably dead, probably dead.
Speaker 3There's a lot of times we're probably dead and then, like I, you know, pull an item out of my backpack. It's like a power, and we use that inside a closed space, which was not a good idea not a good idea, but it worked it did work um. So we reunited loka and ak and we never we never heard from them again. Did we have like a a life day celebration in their village or something?
Speaker 2I think everything was destroyed. Man man Like all the X's.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2After that you went to Dunk.
Speaker 3Yeah, first Bridge, underbridge, sky Hill, boulder Hill, we go to Sky Hill. I guess those are just the regions of Dunk right. Yeah, those are the districts. Yeah, the districts, Districts yeah, there's a toll tellers thing where we start getting into issues, graham Hamba. There's a big tellers thing where we start getting into issues, graham Hamba. There's a big mayoral race going on. He's worried about his chances. Opponents are gaining headway.
Speaker 2Let's roll to see what happened.
Speaker 3Oh, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2Now you guys did absolutely nothing for that, so let's say it's minus two.
Speaker 1That's rough.
Speaker 3Graham Hamba is lynched. He did not.
Speaker 1He did not win.
Speaker 2So for the next Campaign, dunk is taken over by SPL.
Speaker 3That's crazy.
Speaker 2To put into power Bottomless harangue, who's just a puppet bottomless harangue.
Speaker 3Did you roll that? Or you've been sitting on that wonderful name for a long time I love that name. That's always. That must have been who he was running against. I see, yeah wow.
Speaker 2So like, yeah, all the, all the toll teller stuff is going out, going out the window going out the window the mace window um, there's a couple different things.
Speaker 3Like you know, grendy from frumbly prove she's behind a local vandalism. I don't know that we really followed up on that. There are three town wardens captured in the sewers. Um head constable dima bonkwell, I think, asked us to follow up on this, or we volunteered to. There was a reason we decided to do this, because, um, there were also maintenance workers disappearing and serpathy sightings in the sewers. There's the name glyph smuckleberry, with no context um I think that's just.
Speaker 2Uh, I think he's like a worker yeah, it's probably a worker.
Speaker 3Um, we end up somehow getting a map of the sewers. We meet a person named foreman bum goo who we must be rescuing in the sewers or something, or like he was probably running out of it as we were going in I think he's outside the sewers was he outside the sewers, okay, but I don't know who glyph schmuckleberry is.
Speaker 2Yeah, I I don't, nobody knows, glyph Schmucklebear is.
Speaker 3Nobody knows, this is where we first meet, or not first, but the only time we encounter Ilgath the Inkpot Spider. This is why every time. I think an Inkpot Spider, because he says he's had thousands of sons and they never call him a right. So I ask every. Inkpot spider if they're ill gas.
Speaker 1Never paid off.
Speaker 4Never paid off Even if they were his kid they hated him, it's fine.
Speaker 3Um, after all, that's kind of resolved. We go to Dunblock circus because they have a caged Sarpathy. Zeal the Prophet.
Speaker 2Well, you skipped over a whole part where you guys fought Sarpathy in the sewer Not important.
Speaker 1The whole sewer.
Speaker 2Golden Wyvern was also down there, and then you flooded the sewers.
Speaker 3That all happened, that's true. I wasn't sure if that came later, but yeah um so that pushed the wyvern out into the river yeah, he went farther south and ursley was in like really pushing for us to keep hunting it down.
Speaker 2Right, or she was like gonna drink or hunt that thing down yeah, I guess she got drunk while you guys, yeah, pursued the other thing yeah, that all makes sense which was going to Dunlop circus, discovering yeah he had a Sarpathy right they're packing up and leaving dunk, and we talked with Gandrilla the incredible didn't didn't Dunlop run off to Jurggerg.
Speaker 3They're packing up and leaving Dunk, and we talked with Gandrilla the Incredible Didn't Dunlop run off to?
Speaker 1Jurggerg with Zeal the.
Speaker 3Prophet yes.
Speaker 2Yeah. This is where you let out Linda the Manticore.
Speaker 1Yep.
Speaker 3Oh, I wish something had become of that.
Speaker 2Oh, Linda Flew off. See what happened to Linda.
Speaker 3Yeah, let's see. Did Linda make it back to her?
Speaker 2family. Give her a plus one. You know she's a manticore.
Speaker 1Was she going to Skrocknest Mountain or something?
Speaker 3Yeah, we were somewhere in that region Thunder Bluffs.
Speaker 1Yeah, I think Something like that.
Speaker 3Another seven. Wow, it's just getting, you know. Well, at least it's not a minus one. Success with a twist, she gets back to Thunder Bluffs. She's hunted, oh, by who's the guy? The guy.
Speaker 1She's on the run what was his name?
Speaker 3dunlop, yeah, yeah, dunlop, let's see. Oh, and then gandrilla the incredible, who's a spithra, I think tells us to go after denlock, or so it just gives us its information. Um, along the way, we encounter lelaine the shrimp it's a random encounter who turns clamp eggs plus rocks into bread.
Speaker 1That's right.
Speaker 2Lelaine. We ate that bread for a while.
Speaker 3We ate that bread for a while. Indeed, clam bread, this is clammy. This is where we steal Starfell ore from Weldar and the Hammer on our way through the Drippy Downs.
Speaker 1Yeah, one of our finest moments.
Speaker 3I think what's the best part is that we thought they weren't that tough.
Speaker 1Yeah. We were so successful stealing from them and escaping and humiliating the hammer that we were like oh, we got this. These guys are.
Speaker 3These guys are yeah, all of it oh my gosh pushed him into the crater or something and then yeah, and then we like rolled away, we rolled really well.
Speaker 1It was like it was like they caught him totally by surprise, pushed him in, like he like was falling and yeah halo monger, welcome to the stream.
Speaker 3We're just recounting the uh the campaign we we finished up last week hey how's it going?
Speaker 2um, yeah, so I don't even know where we are in the campaign. This is.
Speaker 1This is probably season two I don't know yeah guys maybe I think it is still season two and we've been talking about it for an entire hour and we're not close to being done.
Speaker 3Yeah, this is. The notes are getting just much more detailed now. Oh no. Well, yeah, this is season. Okay, that's fine, it's all good. Um, let's, we'll press on uh welder and hammer. So we press, uh, press on baby. Uh brang, thirk, mundred, mundra, the kerg and old work rival that was the mine off.
Speaker 3Yeah, a mine off had the mine off like a whole line a mine off that oh my gurg. So we, yeah, we got to your gurg and we met. That old work has accomplished much in twerk society. Oh yeah, so mundred. Mundred was going to settle the dispute and he said the dispute between Riley and Rangthir was going to be a mine off which Riley humiliated him in.
Speaker 2Let's roll to see if Rangthir was ever able to come back from his humiliation.
Speaker 3Yeah, his exile or whatever. Yeah, I think so. No, no, he's dead in a mine somewhere he's taking the long walk.
Speaker 2He's out in the desert just like, yeah, the wind's battering him is yeah he's definitely a super villain this yeah, yes, he is yeah just like a banished work yeah, slighted by the world.
Speaker 3um, next is it just says crog, a whole way of life is a farce. Didn't actually build anything from the ground up. Has a museum at Krogland, I don't know.
Speaker 1It's just the story of Krog.
Speaker 3Yeah, it must be. Next, there's a hierophant Three heads, four arms, spawned by Queen Sindranath. I don't. I don't know that we encountered one.
Speaker 1I feel like we might have you definitely saw it when you went into the temple we saw it when we went into the temple. That was another really hairy situation that we barely survived but this isn't even at the temple yet.
Speaker 3This is, I think, a rumor yeah, this is me.
Speaker 1Yeah, this is actually. I think this is right before oh, you know why?
Speaker 3this is because we had retrieved zeal and we were going back to dunk. Yeah, so maybe zeal was telling us about that. Because next, I have highlighted linda, the off to the thunder bluffs. So when we came back is when we must have released blunder bluffs. Blunder bluffs, yes, thunder bluffs is uh, world war, wow, wow.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 3Wow. Wait so so oh, no, no, no. You know what I'm so sorry, ben, because next is jail of the red ax, so we must've made our way down to what happened to zeal.
Speaker 2I forget what you guys.
Speaker 3I don't remember, didn't do it. Do you let get, let go? No, do we do with zeal?
Speaker 1let get, let go.
Speaker 3No, I don't remember what happened to zeal that would be something that I probably should have written down I know that this is right before the red axe, though yeah and then when did you encounter the hammer again? Yeah, that's a good question. I mean, he must just not have, because he came back and kicked our butts and then we were all humbled by it and then we got away.
Speaker 2We were camping one night and he waylaid us yes, was that not on the way back down, or was it later?
Speaker 3that sounds like the way back down, um, but I also may just not have written that down at all. It was too humiliating. It was too humiliating, yeah.
Speaker 2Yeah. So that was like really good. That felt good as a GM when you thought that you could just slam that he'd put you in your place. But it wasn't like he killed you or anything it was just he destroyed us.
Speaker 1It was totally humiliating.
Speaker 3We literally had to just like give up. Wait, didn't we give up something to him? Maybe it was zeal.
Speaker 2Maybe it was zeal. I think that it. Yeah, that's what it was.
Speaker 3That makes a lot more sense. Yeah, cause I remember like getting basically one shotted and having like a hit point left and we just had to be like give it up, whatever you need, man.
Speaker 2George's distaste for that is reflected in that it's not written down. It didn't happen that way.
Speaker 1I'm not remembering this.
Speaker 3I refuse, I'm not remembering this. I refuse I am the ultimate PC. I just closed my eyes, put my head in the ground. Anyway, we definitely go back after Dunk and we go south to the Nameless Lake and the Sarpathy temple. Yes, so we see the hierophant, which is just weird how I have it written down.
Speaker 3So I don't know why linda the manicore was like at that point highlighted no, I think zeal probably told you about it like boasting about what you're gonna face yeah, um, as we're scouting out the nameless lake and the temple, uh, we meet jail of the red axe, the of the cloven tongue, felmog knights, uh, is she so? She might be poisoned, because the next line is singed by prevent them, throng we to fully cure yeah, she was poisoned.
Speaker 2Uh, she had found the entrance to the temple yeah, oh.
Speaker 3This is where we learn of the differences in the felmog knights. The cloven tongue want to pull the sarpathia because they think they're powerful but, like weldar and the Hammer, want to control them, yeah. And then we encounter Karul, the Sargog, guardian of the shrine at the Unnamed Lake, and Jaila perishes.
Speaker 2Yeah, in this in the shrine there's a giant snake who was pretty formidable, and Jayla was incapitated.
Speaker 3Wow, permanently Incapitated.
Speaker 2I don't think that's a real word. I know that's not a real word.
Speaker 1It's an inside joke. It's an inside joke. It's something we say to each other Incapitado, but because we're just hanging out as buddies. It's not a real word, it's an inside joke.
Speaker 3It's an inside joke, it's something we say to each other Incapitado, but because we're just hanging out as buddies.
Speaker 1it's like gotta forget that there's people that are thank you everyone for watching as well.
Speaker 3Yeah, it's. It's hard to filter sometimes you know.
Speaker 2Anyway, you know, I should probably explain where that comes from.
Speaker 1We used to go to Heroclix tournaments and there was this kid who would pronounce the incapacitate power as incapitate. And so we started to do it, and have done that ever since.
Speaker 3It's physically impossible for you guys to say incapacitated. I've never heard you say it. I'm like it's like you have to really concentrate to say it's only embarrassing when we're like working with publishers. So then the guy, the, the hero gets incapitated and uh, you know like what? Yeah?
Speaker 2start looking at the contracts, thinking but they didn't, it didn't, it was a great decision and uh, let's move on, okay.
Speaker 1Shout out.
Speaker 2Okay.
Speaker 3Simone, you know Jayla dies the car rule. Jail is findings. She sketched out the lake and landmarks. There's dwerg fishing on the West side of the lake, constant battles between the scum Sears and star Pathy, who, I think we make a deal with the scum Sears. There's an unmarked wagon from the North that dropped off crates from the front of the shrine which we find out has come from dunk, I think there's a blacksmith there that we never followed up on, and a giant three-headed serpathy comes to the shrine every week.
Speaker 3Um, we meet olkaroth, who I think is one of the scum seers, says glirganus will reward us with a boon. Uh, we, yep, we follow up on the wagon. There's tiny inscription on each sword, insignia of the blurg smith of dunk, and it's a person we sold weapons to. Um, by this time we've made our way into the sarpathy temple and we get captured, because that's something that happens to us constantly. Yeah, uh. But the next line is we escape the 10 villagers. We, because, because I just highlight, it's only highlights we, the 10 villagers we rescued are from all over the mucklins, some were experimented on. We rescued crazy ernie. Um, we find out their plan, maybe to or we think their plan, maybe to sow fear and discord amongst the people with no rhyme or reason. Um, this is kind of glossing over the massive battles in like running around in.
Speaker 3The guys were running around underwater temple and I think riley got incapacitated yeah I did, yeah, and you had to play archley for like yeah yeah, it was like it was close to ending.
Weldar and the Hammer Conflicts
Speaker 2Yeah, yeah, there was one, many times one point where you guys separated and Riley tried to do something but she just ran into a group of Serpath and you're like, okay, let's end it right there.
Speaker 3She tried to run through the other side of them, like sliding into their legs or something, or head straight into danger, as your characters want to do, yep, and then you get captured, because this is like a really bad check so instead of going through the rigmarole of trying to fight them, you just surrendered and played urgently that was good.
Speaker 1I mean we I don't know, we sabotaged anything. Right, yeah, surrender. Riley Sprinkle.
Speaker 3I remember it being very difficult To navigate down there, but we got captured and then we like broke out, and then we would just like disable the cages and get out, and then found our way to their Armory. I feel like we blew it up.
Speaker 3Yeah, there was definitely An explosion there was definitely an explosion that Cracked the ceiling and there was water starting to flood the temple. We were able to kind of like trail of clues, our way out of it by using creative powers. I think, yeah, um, but instead of writing all that down, I fast forwarded to after all this happened and, uh, I said, we run into a troop of actors who aggressively make us watch their play, I become a crazy critic. That's so funny.
Speaker 3I write things like that down. I gloss over all the stuff. I'm like, yeah, I'll remember that that was a big deal.
Speaker 1Let's write down this troop of actors where I become a critic. This is a really example of like making a game that you want to play that sort of thing, happening is hilarious to me.
Speaker 3I love it. Somewhere along the way we run into Mindy plaster pot bog real apothecary has an eye patch. Comma joins us. She's from river country Like us.
Speaker 2This is another love interest that I just like, don't yeah don't like let happen it's like two fog roll women yeah, I'm scared of another gale, just your dummy thick legs.
Speaker 3Dummy thick legs, yes, uh, this is a slightly resentful line. I think that I've written next it we finally slew the golden wyvern and got nothing.
Speaker 1That's the most George thing ever.
Speaker 5That's like that's thermonuclear George. That's terrible the rage comes through and we receive nothing.
Speaker 1Oh man, oh God.
Speaker 3Nothing about how we slew it or where, or what.
Speaker 1I thought we flooded the sewers or something crazy. It was another.
Speaker 3That was earlier.
Speaker 2Oh yeah. You tracked it in the wilderness. It was a hard fight. I remember yeah. Mm-hmm, and you got nothing. I think it's yeah, a checkbox completed right.
Speaker 3I think it was like Urshley took the head. We finally fulfilled our promise to her in a way, and then there was, like I don't know, that we ever had followed up on a reward or anything for it.
Speaker 2I don't know if there even was one yeah, I think he might have tried to find its horde or something yes, and it didn't work out.
Speaker 3Yeah, for stuff for one reason or another, like I think our search checks just failed, the, the sub, uh, the sub um line says need to schlep the body back to dunk. So I imagine we need to go back to dunk for you know, kind of tie that up. Um, we did. We then go to edinhorn, so I guess we're crossing back over the mountains and I think we're going to stop by.
Speaker 2I want to say we're going to stop by the tree I me too yeah or I think in between, then mindy falls into the mud, ruining her dowry dress. Oh yeah, so I move that.
Speaker 3That's in my Oathbreaker section, which is just completely separate, because I was trying to keep track of that. I promised Mindy that I'll find a way to cleanse her dress. We think one galope milk will do the trick. I failed to complete it and it's kind of a mess. The next thing in that little line is I get some milk soda from the guy Gaspar and that's it. I never follow up on it. I think that, yeah, I meant that I get one galope milk. Yeah.
Speaker 2You had an encounter with Ettons.
Speaker 3Yeah, we find out that groups of Ettons are called Sounders and only one, non-etton, has won a wrestling contest. Why is that a line I wrote because there's a chance. Oh, do I wrestle them? I probably want.
Speaker 2I probably wanted to, but like you wanted to, yeah, sometimes it's called Howling Hill.
Speaker 3They make fun of prey before they kill them. We find a bandit dangling from a cage.
Speaker 1I remember we rescued him make fun of prey before they kill them. We find a bandit dangling from a cage. I remember we rescued him Make fun of prey before they kill them. It's awful, but it's also childish awful. They make fun of it before they kill it. I remember yelling insults back and forth. They make fun of it.
Speaker 3They tease it. We rescue this bandit and he travels with us for a while. I don't think anything becomes of it.
Speaker 2We separate after we get to the bones no he led you to a small.
Speaker 3A treasure, right oh?
Speaker 1right, actually, I do remember this yeah. He led to the horde. Classic yeah.
Speaker 2It was like his bandits, fellow bandits that abandoned him and he wanted to get back at them.
Speaker 3Yeah, bandits that abandoned him and he wanted to get back at them. Yeah, so we split his. I don't remember what was in the horde, but I do remember I think it was not a very good horde, but yeah well, like I think part of it was like we were really. We were becoming, becoming under a time crunch but we wanted to somehow fit it in like we couldn't get.
Speaker 2I couldn't give it the treasure james probably less, less maniacal about it than me, but oh yeah, because you had a certain amount of days to get across the Mucklins, to get to Log Jam.
Speaker 3Yeah, I think that the contention was we had spent so much time, we were coming up against Wazinski's deadline. But we do. This is where we find the need. The heart of the dryad has to be given freely. The stump which, up north, is possession of one. I think this is so we do. Stop of the dry, it has to be given freely, the stump which, up north, is possession of one. I think this is so we we do stop by the tree, yeah.
Speaker 3And then it was. That was why we went through Ed and horn and then we we have a brief encounter there and then Hardy's hideaway. I don't know where that would be, but it's probably on the way back. We meet hideaway. I don't know where that would be, but it's probably on the way back. Hardie's Hideaway was probably in the Horde, maybe I don't know. We meet Obi Dundee. The password is Pumpernickel. He has jobs for rogues like us.
Speaker 2That sounds more like a city.
Speaker 1The old place. The old place is a site or like a lair or something like that. It's not a city.
Speaker 3Well, Hard Hardy's Hideaway.
Speaker 1Hardy's Hideaway, I think, is a random encounter that we pursued.
Speaker 2Yeah, it was like on a map or something.
Speaker 1Yeah, it's like in a note.
Speaker 3Or maybe yeah, you find a note that says you know pumpernickel and then you can. That's right. That was just the thing we found along the way, so we don't find the place.
Speaker 2We found someone's secret password. The old place.
Speaker 3I see Salty Scuff and the Brave Goblins. I think they're a band, A Braylon band member family founded band were eaten by wargs.
Speaker 3Some of these are just like kind of monty python yeah, to be clear, these are just like I slam things down in the middle of a quest and I don't really like edit or understand what I'm saying. We get a bucklers of the buckler. The goblins grin. I think we forget that we own that. If you attack and miss the nest, attack is minus one and it lasts at the attackers or at the enemy attacks.
Speaker 2That's interesting, oh yeah, those are wallies. You met that band oh okay.
Speaker 3So then we yeah, that would make sense that we would go from the tree back to the road because we would move faster, theoretically. Um, we get some rumors uh, there's some felmog recruiting for fire damp, which which we ignore. But then we find the rumor that tortoises are sick and dying, and quick stop, and no one knows why. Um, let's see, I guess we go to oh, we're bringing crazy Ernie back because we go to SPL find another last tree. So there must be just be another tree guarded by the old Gonzo Boggart green gallop banter. We booby trap it and give him some stuff.
Speaker 2That's a random encounter, random discovery.
Speaker 3Yeah, we hand off crazy Ernie at SPL, get five gold pouches and our relationship with was in ski and we we hear rumors that lots of workers leaving from log jam brink is paying good money to expedite her jobs, even though they're backed up.
Nameless Lake and Temple Exploration
Speaker 3So we're heading farther east along, but then we get into the dirt nap dunes, that's where things go sideways yeah, the only line I have really doesn't do it justice but just says fight olgos, the black main, I die, get a crazy scar on my face yeah, this is where galen, this is bad this is a bad area, yeah yeah, this is where you get the the a little bit of ptsd from.
Speaker 1Yeah that fight and yeah like you, carry the sorrow with you for several sessions right it was.
Speaker 3It was just like everything in the dirt nap dunes was miserable. We kept rolling, uh, like sixes or bumps in the road, and then we would be going a different direction and we could just never get out of it yeah, they're.
Speaker 3Nap dunes is a dangerous area we would make like one square hex of progress and then we would go the wrong direction and like lose all of our progress and it was like it was demoralizing as a pc. But I think like globally, if you look down, it was. It was very appropriate for that region and and it created good tension in the the campaign. But it was tough to get through I think I totally agree, cotton yeah and uh galen galen should be dead, I think.
Speaker 3I think if we were not playing a streaming campaign, galen, I think galen would have been dead because there was a couple there's did I there was like there was some plot armor in this one. This was where the I think we used some plot armor there were just some allowances of powers I think yeah, definitely. I think yeah, definitely, cause I think this was like it didn't. It felt rough, um, and we, we, we played it, we played it out, I think, in a way that worked well enough yeah. Um it was tough though.
Speaker 3It was that that.
Speaker 1That reminds you that there's only two of us instead of like four.
Speaker 3Right yeah.
Speaker 1So the fights are, the fighting is tough yeah, it is infinitely more punishing.
Speaker 3Um, similarly punishing would be the almost on our. We're almost to quick. Uh, quick, stop, and we fight some poltergeist and almost die, again killed my poltergeist it's just like a quick blurb fight. Some poltergeist almost die, but get to crick stop uh we yeah, so once there a couple different things.
Speaker 3The waterways are polluted. They've already been infected, so this is about the tortoises. I imagine they have a cough and yellow green moss um crick's end Market. There's Ofra Prancy I don't remember if she was just giving us information. We find information on Cade Cateran, toughest bounty hunter in all of EM. Boba Fett, status wanted for murder. Powerful River Baron put a bounty on his head, so we're going to pursue this because we can get ancient coins out of the deal. And then we find out that there is pepper the huge, a bounty hunter, who's now pursuing us. He's a boggle and wears shining armor. I think that the the other black mane wolves put a bounty on us uh, they came up again for killing.
Speaker 3They put a bounty on us for killing olgos I don't know if that's true.
Speaker 1I don't think it was them, but like I do remember that the I remember the wolves were like up again came up again.
Speaker 3I swear they put a bounty on us for some reason.
Speaker 2I feel like they came up later I don't.
Speaker 3Maybe it is.
Speaker 2Maybe it's like maybe the wargs would like have that capacity all right, we'll see what walking into like some office and being some see what the notes bear out.
Speaker 3Oh, no, no, no, we're in a wet sign. They maybe they just said that they were gonna get us in the future. Um, but I do remember. I do remember them coming back. I like the idea that they put a bounty on us. They like scraped together some like old possessions from people they killed I just love the idea of them filling out paperwork in some dusty office somewhere. Popper in here, popper there.
Speaker 2Slobber covered yeah.
Speaker 1I know, do we have any time in the near future? Yeah.
Speaker 3Mindy's parents live here, rascleton yeah.
Speaker 2So then we must have gotten to rascaltan, right? Yeah, you to rascaltan, I think. I think people just noticed you guys, uh like pepper the huge.
Speaker 3I think that makes more sense. Yeah uh, this is uh good no I was gonna say. This is where the only thing I have written down is mindy's parents have a gilded dagger they found in the trash.
Speaker 1And I kept trying to make that into a murder weapon?
Speaker 2Yeah, they never considered that.
Speaker 3Yeah, it was just a lovely find.
Speaker 2Family, heirloom.
Speaker 3We never pursued it. We yeah, I think we have it. They gave it to us for rescuing their daughter.
Speaker 1I thought it got used or like sold or something. I thought something happened.
Speaker 3Something along those lines. We might've just bartered away. Because it was worth money. In Rascleton we go to a place I don't know if this is random or not, I feel like there was a conversation around it but it's called the Soggy Jimbo, where Honest Jim Dahlstaff lives. Yeah, that's. I think it was like a, a bar or a tavern of some sort.
Speaker 1It's like a rascal bar.
Speaker 3Yeah, it's involved with the rascals, a rascal 10, a group of rogues like Robin Hood and Mary men. We meet Rolfy Peabody oh we meet Rolfy. Peabody, oh yeah, the Boggart smuggler of sorts, and I think we employ him, oh yeah, because, uh, cause, you want to go down the river. We got to go down the river, and then this is where we have like a lovely little moment of the firefly festival. Um, along the way, Portals are dancing.
Speaker 2Go down that road. I want to roll for Mindy and her life Uh.
Speaker 3Oh, after being rescued, life, uh, oh. After being rescued, no, after being uh sullied, sullied, it was.
Speaker 2It was her dress. I didn't even you know she has a minus two because I didn't never fulfilled his oath and yeah, put her in a bad place with uh her suitors what didn't I just say hey, let's find a laundromat for her, or something?
Speaker 1You tried, you tried to get out of this many times. That is a terrible role.
Speaker 2And she has a terrible life with a horrible husband.
Speaker 3All because of a dress.
Speaker 1And there may or may not be a bounty on galen's head she lives the life of a popper yeah, and it's all my fault she steals the family's life savings to hire kate the bounty hunter wow, wow, kate catering going up is really funny concept.
Speaker 3Yes, um, I love it. Uh, the firefly festival was beautiful. I get a jar of fireflies that we use intermittently to light places up. We pull in the log jam. There's massive structures with workers still working hard even at night using the old ways of lumberjacking. Um, the massive structure is owned by gretch, has a monopoly on lumber shipment, but no one's seen him. We have to figure out why the lumberjacks are leaving and then also figure out how to redirect or hijack just to bring slumber shipment. But the Gretsch-O-Maticus is shut down. Foreman Barkin and a taskmaster from SPL I think we encounter them. And don't we convince Foreman Barkin to give us some of his like to divert lumber as a form?
Speaker 3of payment if we can fix the Gretchimaticus.
Speaker 1Something like that. Something along those lines I know that we do get it. We do work on a deal to get the lumber out of there.
Speaker 2Yeah, I don't know that it was a legit deal we were going to steal it.
Speaker 1Yeah, I think we were going to steal the lumber Because we were gonna steal it deal. Yeah, I think we were.
Speaker 3Yeah, steal the lumber because we were gonna divert it away from brink, yeah, um, we felt, just convinced him that you could help yeah, I think that is true. I really wish I hit the guy with the boat.
Speaker 2That's the guy that we gotta deal with that's peabody, that's peabody, I think you just talked to the foreman like we can help you out, because I still remember you guys sneaking out.
Speaker 3We headed in at night to the Gretchimaticus we found out that the Will-o'-the-Wisp was kind of. I wrote Liberator equals Will-o'-Wisps, so I imagine there was like this Liberator thing. Or is that me putting a name on something?
Speaker 2No, that's right. The liberator the wisp is who became the johnny apple seed mech? Yeah, like riley made the mech for him to go around shooting johnny, so the wisp took over the gretchen maticus because it's a horrible machine of destruction and there are gremlins in there. People like the workers were captive and whatnot. The Wisp had taken over the actual machinations machinery and was eating people and stuff. So what'd you guys do? You guys went in there, we went in there, we took a look around on catwalks, yeah. Do a little dance.
Speaker 3Make a little love.
Speaker 2Blow up things, yeah, um, there was a conveyor belt battle, yeah that was kind of fun getting sucked in like yeah, you're kicking them back down the conveyor belt into the mouth.
Speaker 3Ultimately, we like convince it that we can help.
Speaker 1We did some convincing, and that's how Johnny Appleseed was born.
Speaker 2That he could do more good by planting seeds.
Speaker 3Yes, let's roll Ben. Let's see how much good he's done. Has he reforested? The used to be forested all Did he get stopped along the way has he made a positive impact. Yeah.
Speaker 2Well, we already determined that he made it to the last tree, but you want to see, but leading up to that point, okay, give him a plus one. Yeah, yeah, hey.
Speaker 3Did a lot of good on his way.
Speaker 2Um. He's known as a green gallivant, or hero in lore. Yeah. Uh, but he mysteriously disappeared when he went inside the fissure in the. The last tree, last tree, hmm, in the last tree.
Speaker 3Last tree. I want to say that there are tales of him leaving a trail of bandit bodies in his wake, with trees growing out of their chests. What. Anyone who tried to stop him got a tree in the chest.
Speaker 3It's just like saying to everyone he meets the ends justify the means um, next, I just, I mean I fast forward and I say we pull into turf. We're held up at a checkpoint on our way to the junkyard and this ben is where I have highlighted wanted poster with our faces on it for killing olgos the black man. And that's why I said the wolves came back and must have put a bounty on us because there was a wanted. How would there be a wanted poster with our faces on it for killing oligos the black man?
Speaker 3they did it I don't know, that's weird it's wild, weird stuff, war, but like I remember laughing about this because it was like a ridiculous concept, I'm all for it. I think you might have taken that down wrong. How dare you?
Speaker 1How dare you? Don't take this from me. It's possible. I wasn't listening closely.
Speaker 3But, we were wanted for killing Olgos the Black Mane.
Speaker 2I don't know if that's the reason why you were wanted. That's my point, but I I don't remember this at all I mean it was written.
Speaker 3Written down, man, it's canon now let's roll it yeah, let's roll, let's roll, let's roll, let's roll let's roll. Six and up six and up the, the wargs. It's absolutely true. Dice roller doesn't lie, yeah they put together the legal. Uh, that's amazing they went to legalzoomcom, put a bounty canon 12.
Speaker 1It's a canon I.
Speaker 3I agree, ben. I agree that that sounds like dumb and not like something you'd make up, like. I totally agree with you.
Speaker 2But for whatever reason, I interpreted it as a very I've been like a random encounter or something Like the players see their faces on a one.
Speaker 3That must have been what it was, because that sounds very familiar. The players see their selves on a one.
Speaker 1I'm pretty sure that is a random encounter.
Speaker 3Would you think you were joking that? It was like about. Maybe you were joking it. It was like about. Maybe you were joking it is for killing all ghosts.
Speaker 2I think that's a you thing. That's like what you wanted it to be 100%.
Speaker 1It's like when George DMs himself.
Speaker 3I don't know what reality is. Half the time I just like Blank out. Blah, blah, blah, lars, the dratch waves. Oh, we're gonna say, are we?
Speaker 2no, I was saying that we should probably, uh, speed things up cool, uh, I can go faster because we're almost a session or to season three. You guys head down Black Row, people chasing you. I remember that.
Speaker 3Yeah, this is where Riley loves flying.
Log Jam and the Wisp Connection
Speaker 2Yeah, I think the Riverwatch were alerted to your theft. That's what happened, oh, interesting.
Speaker 3Right, because the Riverwatch were chasing us down there, there. And then we pull into the spill where we see lars the dratch who and this is a quest wants us to come with a cool nickname for him. I don't think it ever happens. Uh, we meet winston the bugbear, vulner of the giant. We kill him in the ooze, we loot the cave. This is where the guy was making all those crazy experiments, right?
Speaker 2in the spill giant with the ooze. Yeah, and that's where claudia got merged with right the lizard and where he also met that gabe yeah, gabe, the monk fairy creature yeah, yeah, yeah, who just kind of like disappeared yeah, thankfully he's gross everyone kept telling us to get rid of him yeah, everyone kept telling us to get rid of him.
Speaker 1Let's roll it, let's roll it does Gabe? Die or does he open up a Norks Noodles franchise? Yeah failure.
Speaker 3With a plus, gabe's not quite dead he lives, but his mind is mush.
Speaker 1He's a tortured creature. Gabe's not quite dead. He lives, but his mind is mush.
Speaker 3He's a tortured creature Praying on rats In the sewers of Dunk.
Speaker 2I think the fairy dies. Oh, it's sad.
Speaker 3The monk creatures as well.
Speaker 2Now there's like a floating dead fairy.
Speaker 1The fairy is absorbed by the monk Slowly. Nutrients Pull into.
Speaker 3Marshgate SP fairy is absorbed by the mung slowly nutrients. Um, pulling a marsh gate spl is taking over the city. We make a deal with taskmaster dundoon. Gave him info in exchange for diverting next. Uh, db dexedina brings next shipment to mucklin harbor. I think that that became kind of a mess. I'm not sure that it all worked out the way we thought it was going to work out. Um, we leave marsh gate, find a stone golem created by magicians. His master is Tully Hooch from Eppley. Tully Hooch, I mean, you know, I don't know why I have written in like first letter capitals, zoned out a little dabble, do you Like? I don't know if that's the title of a book by Zona Imbach or something.
Speaker 1Zoned Out a Little Dabble.
Speaker 3Do Ya? I don't understand. It doesn't make any sense. There's no context. We have a shipment that Sarpathia are interested in. They attack us and we throw one over the edge. We get back to the craft, so we see a gelatinous goo named jert. This is like a metal finding dude who was in the adventurers guild or something I don't remember he went to dungeoneer academy right yeah, no, no. Jert the gelatinous goo, an accomplished rare metal finder. I think he went with mitch. Do we have mitch at?
Speaker 2this point. Oh yeah, he went with mitch to dungeoneer academy.
Speaker 3That's too funny at some point yeah, oh man, um spen has a new problem. Yellow jacks are scared of a new witch, char the chicken foot witch. Um, we go onward, we see a goblin kid, roy Roy. Oh, we must do the small dungeon. Yeah, because there's murgatodes, kaleidoscorpions, leeches, mushrooms. Crunch, the wug gets into the water and locked out. He's the wug who's in her kitchen, right, yep, yeah, get a plumed helmet. Strike a deal with Chara for 0.5% of the bridge's profits taken out of sven's negotiating business deals.
Speaker 3Yeah, of our deaths chara will be cursed for a fee. Riley has a goat head that's right.
Speaker 1That's right.
Speaker 3I had a goat head for I couldn't't speak yeah, uh, the crack in is a thing now I guess we stay there for a night um we head out.
Speaker 2That's where you got cursed, galen.
Speaker 3I can't remember yes, probably because his, his solution didn't take you don't write down your own curses, but you wrote down riley no, no, my curse is written much higher, much higher it's, it's in my actual like penalties thing.
Speaker 1I have a curse section Um, but yes, I am to the character sheets right Curses.
Speaker 3Uh, we head out from the. Uh, the crack need to set up an accountant. Dunk, we do that. Later somehow Come upon the bones of the largest warg, who is bigger than Olgos, half buried in the dust. The skull looks at us menacingly, there's a twinkle in its eye and it's the arrow. It's a golden arrow that Claudia uses to great effect in many combats in the future. We pull into Marshgate, roll into the Sour Skull known for its huzzah tournaments, and Riley can't help herself.
Speaker 1Yeah, I got a gambling issue.
Speaker 3Again, there's Pez Tamir Ribaldo, who had a thing with Gale Ribaldo I don't know what that is, the Witch Market of Beelzebub question mark. And then we see Weldar speaking with Taskmaster Dundoon, and then just an arrow, and then we get away with his gauntlet. Yeah, I think we still have pursued you for a second but somehow we stole his gauntlet and then we run into Lars the Dratch and then the next line is nonsensical. It says happy, happy, day, day fish.
Speaker 2What that was? A random encounter on the river. There was like a fish going happy happy day.
Speaker 1Oh, that's right, that's right. Happy happy day day.
Speaker 3Like a big mouth bass.
Speaker 1Like a big mouth bass. That's amazing. That's now my favorite encounter of all time.
Speaker 2Then you guys go to Beasleberf where you meet the underground cartoonists. Uh-huh.
Speaker 3Run into a comic book dude Brian.
Speaker 5Park. Yeah, that's wild cartoonists Run into a comic book dude. Brian Park yeah.
Speaker 3Yeah, is this where we get the pins, the rickety stitch and gelatinous? They're valued in some circles. The last line I have before season three is Malva's cauldron droopy face goblin. I don't know. I think that I'm trying to get decursed.
Speaker 2Yeah, the witch that will decurse, you.
Speaker 3Yeah, do you guys want to go over session three at a later date, or season three rather?
Speaker 2No, I think we could finish it, let's just we want me to power through. Yeah, you know, give the the broad strokes. Season three cause season four isn't long at all.
Speaker 3No, oh, I don't even know if I make a season four delocation. Hey the Pebble, who do you have to thank for it? Well, you have these two guys, james and Ben. That's who you have to thank for Rickety Stitch.
Speaker 2Ah well, thank you the.
Speaker 3Pebble.
Speaker 2Yeah, we're the authors and we're just talking about our game, which is based on Rickety Stitch, called Land of EMRPG, and we're kind of rehashing our entire campaign that we just finished. Oh well, thanks, we appreciate it.
Speaker 3Yeah, no kidding, and thanks for going to the stream. You guys should put that in the back of the book.
Speaker 1Remind me to write a letter to random house we're gonna use that as a quote uh, thank you very much.
Speaker 2Um where were we? We uh season three.
Speaker 1You guys season three warfrat row.
Speaker 3Is that in beaver still bogtown? So this is where we have Dungeoneer Magazine, flea Greenbeck II, who's father started it, the Shane Shandar. There's Delora Nabarats, goral, gangrew, cheeseburger, fisherman Alley, snipes and Kidnappers.
Speaker 1All these different areas. I'd like to pause for one second just to make a shout out to the Cheeseburger Fisherman. All these different areas, just to make a shout out to the to the cheeseburger fishermen Bucket, yeah.
Speaker 3We joined forces with Shane Shandar. After some shenanigans in, where were we again? Bogtown.
Speaker 2Bogtown, yeah, bogtown, he's in Bogtown yeah.
Speaker 3This is where we cobalt whistled the the never rats there's a guy in the sewers um but I think the big reason was sona imbach wanted to go to dungeoneer magazine right and sell the stories I think, yeah, um, and this is where we get, or he's been sending the stories to dungeoneer magazine and publishing without us knowing, and that was part of it. Right, right, um. And then their other person they publish about is shane shander, and we joined forces with him to take it.
High Wilds and Scrockness Mountain
Speaker 2Take on the scarlet worm yeah, because he was in need of a big story, because his latest endeavors were not exciting yeah, um, long and short of it.
Speaker 3shane spills the beans when we camped about the Sarpathia. He has some information and then all I write is we killed an effing dragon. I remember it like launching. Did Shane get launched onto its head? Or something like that, and somehow we slew this guy.
Speaker 2Yeah, like Shane Shandar didn't do much other than like be a meat shield.
Speaker 3Yeah, he just soaked hits while we were doing all the work, but it was amazing, we got some goodies, I think. Uh, we find out that this is where we start to get more information about the serpathy spreading across galabag strand, that they've gathered several eyes of ek, um, and then there's just a line that says Gideon Munchhausen, headmaster of Dungeoneer Academy.
Speaker 2You can find this in Dungeoneer Adventures. That's a shout out to us.
Speaker 1Our new series Dungeoneer Adventures. Check out landeamcom for more.
Speaker 3If that ain't the perfect setup for a plug, I don't know what is Willard shrimp engineer on a skiff with smoke bombs? Mr trap smoke bombs us. This is like where we start dealing with this guy who keeps mr and the punking gang. Yeah, I hate that guy he became our arch nemesis for like a half hour for, yeah, for like a brief moment, he like, and then we get involved with a punking gang, meet some beamkins. Am I I getting ahead of myself? Oh, this is where it says just one line.
Speaker 3Shane Strander has been, oh good.
Speaker 1I recall using the beamkin Like we were trying to.
Speaker 3We were pretending to be one.
Speaker 1Yeah, we were trying to convince them that a beamkin was attacking them and they panicked and we stole the thing and ran out of there, but you're forgetting.
Speaker 2You went back to bog town, ran into sir halnar.
Speaker 1That's right, magnate, that's right who was mad at you down that dog does got his or his heirloom in his, uh, the dragon tooth thing yeah, we were trying to get the dragon spear thing yeah from the pumpkins to try to avoid the duel that I had with them, because I bumped into him and picked him off in the street yeah yeah, so you went to the punk gang, the pumpkin patch, and uh drew them out of their oh no, that's actually I had.
Speaker 3It's that's coming up. We were, yeah, we were all close. I just there's one line where I wrote I smell terrible, um riley, but yeah, riley bumps into a man in red armor, sir helen of the red dragon's bolt, spear, worm, scissors of swashbuckling, third ring. The hunchback has taken the brunt of sir helen's rage, so we're like we're just in it with the felma, we're talking to them, we're like at their. Yep, yeah, we set off the pumpkin feels meet a beam kin, old King neck, dark spirit. Pumpkin has a terrifying find a vampire. He's looking for purple, shiny trim amulet. Uh, recover it. Yeah, we recover the dragon's bolt and use up all its charges and show up six hours late to the duel.
Speaker 1Six hours Yep.
Speaker 3Yeah, six hours. Yep, yeah, then we spent many quests trying to rectify that. Yeah, we, we talked to countess baroness kazadar, we want to go to the stone to recharge the weapon. Um, find more information about how the dragon's boat was forged by skarn, a dragon who ruled an area in a film. Hog how another is a failure in his family's eyes. Oh, this is where we run across the trio of bulwarks pursuing the neck donkey strangler. Yeah, yeah, there's Humdy, there's hooch and Lieutenant captain, yeah.
Speaker 2We lose another hooch as a previous Tully.
Speaker 1There's two people in the sandbox named hooch. Tully hooch, an ancient. There's two people in the sandbox named Hooch.
Speaker 2Tully Hooch, an ancient wizard from Eppley.
Speaker 3And then just Hooch who's a?
Speaker 1He's a bulwark detective.
Speaker 3Bulwark yes, exactly, we capture the Nakedonkey Strangler and deposit him at Waffles. I'm promoted to a paladin and then immediately lose a hot haunch challenge and I'm wounded.
Speaker 2Two of those guys died.
Speaker 3Yeah, that's Hooch and Humdy.
Speaker 1The Nakedonkey Strangler was much more formidable than we expected.
Speaker 2What was the other guy's name, captain?
Speaker 3Lieutenant Captain.
Speaker 2Lieutenant.
Speaker 3Captain. First name Lieutenant. Last name captain.
Speaker 3This is where my notes kind of Leap, because we head up to the stone. Basically, we see Pitchwing, it blocks out the sun. We get to Scrocknest Mountain. We're looking for Alistair Jadly, his lost wagon of shipment. We meet Countess Fiora and the sorcerer Jaldir who needs a Scrockwing egg for an experiment. He works for the Gloom King. Kind of a big deal. Kind of a big deal. Yeah, riversart gives us a bunch of different things he wants us to get. There's an imp, and then it says Weldar gets us out. He's beginning to question things. Everyone's acting different due to the sarpathies. This is the beginning of welder is I don't want to say redemption art, because he's still going downhill after this. Um, but he, he changes his, uh, his tune. We get out of the the stone, uh, camp makeup, and then we're besieged by a blemmy named our blemmy.
Speaker 2I loved our blemmy.
Speaker 3Our blemmy was great.
Speaker 2Our blemmy was great Like are the most fun to role play as a gym. Yeah, cause they're like really dumb, unpredictable. It just caused trouble.
Speaker 3They just want to eat everything and everyone. Yeah, that's great. Um, we get to. We're going up the scrofnest mountain, encounter a bugbear hunter, pull grub, who we befriend, and who's great? Uh, we engage in combat with firebeak the pterosaur. We're we're wounded severely, but wound it severely and then regroup it, and then Wazinski is gone. Why would that be in the middle of all this? Oh wait, we were. Oh, there's an SPL mine off on the mountain, so someone must have told us Wazinski is gone.
Speaker 1She's not around.
Speaker 3She's off on a big operation. It says we rescue a troll, wooden foot, zolg and kill fire beak. Uh, there's fangle. I don't know where that is, this crisis of faith?
Speaker 1spider. Spider, his name is oh, that's right.
Speaker 3We trick the harpies somehow it works he eats them. We put the flying machine on a sled.
Speaker 2Because at some point we had gotten a flying machine, we crashed into that cave you got the flying machine in the scrockness yes, yeah and got it working, flew it out, but like and that's what we got, galen gotten like, captured or like grabbed by the scrock wing or something riley jettisoned fuel to burn it, but then yeah, it was strafing run, it was what ended up happening was this galen or riley flew directly into a cave where the giant inkpot spider's web was, and it got caught up right yes, so you made a deal with the spider to get the harpies to like, lure them into his webs.
Speaker 3Yeah, and he, we do it and he eats them. We get the machine back, find pull grub and our blemy and head to bull bugbear village where there's a big celebration for pull grub. And then it says yeah. Time to head back to the stone. And then I have a solo quest where I meet Leslo adjuster. There's a Ram gore encounter. He wakes up at night and you send him out for the Ram gore. We go to Fort Bulwark. There's a captain, miss creep, bounty hunter. That's a werewolf werewolf, yeah Right.
Speaker 2Yeah. Can I travel with you? Oh, also. You gotta chain me up. Oh, by the way. So you locked him up In Fort Bulwark While you got the cure for him at the stump.
Speaker 3That makes sense. That all makes sense. Cobble and lumberjacks running from a beam kin must be a random encounter. There's a bog roll junkmonger who visits the witch who rescued him from a spider web, some mergatoad, with the witch sitting next to it, much like Jabba's palace. Oh, this is all inside the stump. There's Jabba's palace.
Speaker 5Just reading what this is all inside the stump Um uh there's.
Speaker 3Yeah, just reading what I wrote, you know there's there's pig. Wish the work we I barter and succeed with a twist. There's a I'm, I'm curse free in the morning and I have a potion for Leslo on a two day timer. Um, and I find a welcome lost in psychopedia of facts. Encyclopedia of fun. Oh no, yeah. Encyclopedia of fun. Fictinia by Jane Morton Dinglehausen, and return it to Rascleton.
Speaker 1Jay Morton Dinglehouse. I mean, I'm mean just just reading what I wrote, man, just reading what I wrote. Hearing george read the names just kills me.
Speaker 3Oh, it's like the first time I ever hear him oh man, um pulgar becomes a bulwark, somewhere in this I think we, when I return to, uh, the fort bulwark, um go back to riley head down, get ambushed by our uh harpies. Um, oh yeah, we have. We find a bulwark overlook site for the stone, we break into the stone to meet up with welder and then we broker a piece with hell, nor the red somehow. Uh, this is where we trick the imp into letting us into his master's things. We throw the drippings of his experiment on the egg and it hatches, and we, like run away as everything starts to crumble around us classic riley galen yeah the chaos strategy yeah, then hell
Speaker 2used the thing to create a huge chasm as you guys are running out that's right, he had a, he was helping us out.
Speaker 3After we give him back his recharged dragon's tooth. Um, next quest. It just says next quest wall-e's and 3x hot failed or hot haunch failed challenges. So I think weldar and the two of us us are at.
Speaker 1Wally's and we all fail. Yeah.
Speaker 3Um, this is where we kind of start to find out about the black candle eating, the Serpathy fell mugger supplying warships in the Scallywag strand, and we find out about the treasure of old Frick's the cruel and Wally and his map. Or we get a treasure map from Wally, yeah, um, but the hammer busts in and finds us, so we rally and throw a food fight and flee to the crack, throw a food fight.
Speaker 3Yeah, definitely a food fight, and that's how we get out of there. Along the way to go into the crack, I find a white. I look for a white flame herb to die. Well, there's armor white. It's just like, like smearing I just like smear crap all over his armor and he's just like. I don't even want to wear this anymore, it's just bird crap.
Pirate Adventures and Terror Island
Speaker 3Yeah, oh, yeah, this is where. Oh, so I'm looking for that. And then we leave the crack media homing pigeon lady named Chelsea, who we send a message to derail the hammer and send a message to noggin to prepare the ship. I randomly find that white flame thing and then I fail at dying Will's armor. He's fat, thor now.
Speaker 2You guys also sent a randomly encountered vampire after.
Speaker 1Yeah, oh yeah yeah. Unwanted attention also sent a randomly encountered vampire after yeah, oh yeah, yeah, unwanted attention.
Speaker 3Regal looking fellow shows up parentheses wampir, his name is marthal, and then I put in parentheses martholomew, probably a note, just for myself, it's a good one, but yeah, we send him after after. Whatever happened with that? Let's find out roll it. I don't know if it went well he failed to.
Speaker 2You know, kill the hammer.
Speaker 1Mm-hmm, but you turned him into a vampire. You turned him into a vampire.
Speaker 3Oh God, I love it.
Speaker 2You made him his thrall. Mm-hmm.
Speaker 3There's not much written from here to the end of the campaign, so let's get through this and you can fill in what I'm glancing over. Oh wow, we wrangle used to be tiger for Jocko, so this is when we're by that little lake. Can you scroll down on the map, ben?
Speaker 2I wrote a note just now. The hammer is a vampire. Now love it uh amazing.
Speaker 3Yeah, it's really funny. Um, we're by boiling lake, we're helping eat at a bringle boot with quicksand sign painting. Um, somehow along the way we end up having a wrangle. It used to be tiger for jocko, who I think is some kind of dwerg, or someone from Camp Mudbank. Yeah, we go to Urga in Camp Mudbank for lumber, but she tries to drug us and then we agree to do gladiatorial combat for lumber. That is something I wrote. We went like yeah.
Speaker 3So we like have this whole thing where we're gladiator pit fighters, we like free one of the tigers or something and it runs up into the stands and we destroy the whole operation.
Speaker 2Definitely don't.
Speaker 3It was a chimera, okay, that's much bigger.
Speaker 2You freed Rangoonie, the crab rack.
Speaker 3Yes.
Speaker 2Rangoonie. We became part of your crew.
Speaker 3Yeah, I can't believe I didn't write down, I must just added him to the list.
Speaker 2Yeah, so after that you went to muckland harbor we interview people for the galleon troll.
Speaker 3With a boggle on his shoulder, he's looking for people to sail the sea. We find an enormous or a crab rack getting fitted for an enormous hat, which ends up being Quark. Some peg-legged dude and just a bunch. This is probably where we meet Mindy Ironshod at Portal smoking a pipe, wearing armor like Mako. There's Thrang. I don't know if we get him yet.
Speaker 1Like Mako. No, I think we do get Thrang. Yeah we do.
Speaker 3There's a blind with linell, oh, linell, yeah, sorry, I moved her down to the ship's crew, linell par and wash human sailor, who's clearly blind but is excellent at her craft. And then, yeah, that's kind of where we're at. Uh, where did we scroll back up? Oh, uh, we're on the water. On the first mate, we ran into a bog girl and a hermit who sells him a calculation crab. Uh, running, ran into, yeah, clam calculation claim I like that.
Speaker 3I wrote calculation crab. Uh, we ran into a derelict ship with gremlins aboard that we let run into the rocks. On Shipwreck Island we discover a pirate on an island, shelly and his coconuts. We convince him to go be a lighthouse keeper, discover some partial ruins on an island, land on Lookout Island, abandoned for decades after a tidal wave. We find the Daggerheart Pirate's Cove and come across a crew of fishermen who ran into Old Sinker, a sea chimera. At this point we take this information north to Hornswoggle. Meet with Captain Verima Woodenfoot for pirate court. She's a top heavy goblin, which is apparently the only descriptor for her. She obviously has wooden feet, but the top heavy goblin's. All I wrote down. Um, we help boggles load their cannon onto the ship. They're one of the cyclops crews. Uh, head to the pine box. Meet with pirate corp or uh court. I, I am the captain. Now I guess I'm the captain of a ship. We set sail after some shenanigans and hornswoggle we meet Swirl, who coats our ship in slime, making us move faster.
Speaker 2I feel like we need to go over the fact that your ship is a pleasure yacht, that Noggin has put together. Yeah.
Speaker 3Noggin has created he's literally on a cruise. We got two Lews. Your ship is a pleasure yacht.
Speaker 1That not together. Yeah, not created Like he's, he's literally on a cruise.
Speaker 3Yeah, we got to lose one for number one, number one for number two, two guys holding chamber pots.
Speaker 1It's a small theater with standup comedians.
Speaker 3Yeah, and there's an infinite North noodle machine that somehow finite Um cause. Nothing's really infinite, but yeah, yeah People are eating too much, except for possibilities.
Speaker 2Yeah, so then you make it down to the lookout island.
Speaker 3Yeah and Ben, I only have five more lines written. Big parrot flies out of the ship towards the lighthouse wearing a pirate hat.
Speaker 2Well, there's a big battle before that.
Speaker 3Yeah, written. After that I have big battle. We sink the biggest ship.
Speaker 2Yes, yes. And then the pirate flies out of the sinking ship to the lighthouse. Ah, full disclosure. That's the captain of the dagger. Full disclosure. That's the captain of the dagger hearts, the captain is a parrot. Yes, what yeah, oh my god, it explains so much, so I can never capture him the idea was, after that, the pirate flew to terror island and met up with the Daggerhearts there. I see.
Speaker 2Because that ship that you initially saw going west, that had Thrang on it. Oh get out that makes sense. That island, or maybe it had been captured by them at some other point, because we marooned him, but he gave them that information. He was going to betray them, though Never really panned out, because you guys sent that giant dinosaur after the whole deck of hearts.
Speaker 1Yeah that was beautiful.
Speaker 3Yeah, I mean. All I have left written is island shenanigans. We find a worm, find an imp, push a pterosaur egg down the hill.
Speaker 2Pterosaurs can't see you if you don't move well, you guys got to terror island, yeah, and found out quickly that it was like super dangerous when it blinks almost killed.
Speaker 3You bought a blinks, yeah, an invisible predator cat so hard to fight, yeah, and then, yeah, you encountered that imp who was the minion of olfrex.
Speaker 2I think that worked out pretty well. That was fun. Yeah, it was just like a random encounter yeah wandering creature, an imp who is definitely worked out. But then he got eaten by the pterosaur.
Speaker 3Because he moved.
Speaker 2Yes, it almost was Wildar.
Speaker 1Yeah 50-50 shot. That would have been the worst end. Worst end to elba, to welder, after everything he's been through I mean I still somehow would have been okay with it.
Speaker 3I mean it would have been like what are you gonna do? It's that's the land of yin baby, that's my name.
Speaker 2so I mean the campaign ended when you guys entered the volcano with the Felmog and Sarpathia forces after you were all looking for the Ivek and the treasure of Ulfrex. But you guys found it first and you used your Curio of Infinite Doors. Your relic, the legendary item that you got at 10th level, yeah, relic, legendary item that you got at 10th level, yeah, and we create a portal to epily. When you found that tapestry from epily in the in the horde yeah, the tapestry of the griffin heart, I mean that's.
Speaker 3It was an amazing find. Yeah, like to just open and we escaped with the eye of ec.
Speaker 1It was just the perfect way to end the campaign.
Speaker 3Yeah, I mean many, many random relics lined up, the Curia of Infinite Doors where you can place some object in it and then go to its point of origin and then getting a relic from Eppley, Like just infinitely impossible.
Speaker 1Only Frodo had one of those. You know what I mean, as you guys explain this entire story.
Speaker 2The bog roll junkmonger goes oh, that's one hell of a tale oh god, I forgot that's one hell of a tale.
Speaker 3I love it. We hide. What do we do? Now. I don't know, riley, what do you want to do tonight?
Speaker 1same thing we do every night, pinky, trying to take over the world. What do you want to do tonight? Same thing we do every night Pinky, trying to take over the world.
Speaker 3Sorry, I set it up. That's what I was setting up the.
Speaker 1Pinky and the Brain campaign.
Speaker 3I think we got to make our way back Back to the shack when it all started. We're going to go back home.
Speaker 1Got to get back Back to that past.
Speaker 2All right. Well, you guys are like somewhere way off the screen.
Speaker 1We're like two whole Muckland maps away. Yeah.
Speaker 3That's true. I mean, I love it. I love the idea that out there somewhere, riley and galen are level 10 first of all, and they are just do-gooding across the lands with the eye of, they know, the sarpathy keeping it safe.
Speaker 1They can never yeah they can't return home.
Speaker 3They know the sarpathy. Are going to start clearing out of the Mucklins and moving north. Right, I mean that's that they're going to pursue the Ivek because they can see vaguely where it is right.
Speaker 1Yeah, there's like a.
Speaker 2It's here. It's here, o'reilly and Galen in Harpsedge. When it's destroyed, whoa. Spoiler alert I mean it's been out for a while. It's true, that's true.
Speaker 1I love the idea of Riley and Galen being NPCs in Harpsich.
Speaker 3We gotta survive.
Speaker 2Let's see if they survive. Ultimate.
Speaker 3GM move man.
Speaker 1It cuts to them in the rain, running from like freaking knights, like arrows riddling their bodies. Yeah, I love the idea of them making their way to harps edge. That's great well, listen.
Speaker 2Um, gotta end the stream now, but uh, you know we've we're not going to start the new campaign until the new year, just because it doesn't make sense to so the next couple times in December. I think we could keep talking about this stuff, make new characters, maybe talk about game design stuff.
Speaker 1Yeah, that sounds like a blast. I can't wait to make a new character. I want to be a rascal.
The Eye of Ek and Campaign Conclusion
