Awana is a global nonprofit organization, fueled by the generous support of individuals, churches, and organizations as well as resource sales to accomplish our mission of equipping leaders to reach kids with the gospel and engage them in lifelong discipleship.
Jerry and Angie Berheim have served as Awana Missionaries since 2006. Before coming on full time with Awana, they served as Awana Ministry Directors at their church and served as Ministry Team members with the Awana Missionary at that time.
The journey that God has led them on has been incredible, to say the least over the past many years. Jerry and Angie have been blessed with the opportunity to serve Southern Idaho and Central and Eastern Oregon. They partner with 72 Awana Club Ministries from the Grand Tetons in the East stretching West to the Three Sisters Wilderness area in Oregon and hundreds of beautiful miles and people in between.
Jerry and Angie are blessed to partner with so many faithful servants of the Lord who carry the same passion they do. Reach Kids, Equip Leaders to Change the World! They feel their calling in Awana is to provide encouragement to the bride of Christ, those faithful leaders who serve every week. They love to share when people ask “What is your job?” It is entirely simply Atta boy, Atta girl you are doing a great job keep leaning on the Lord, and we will serve Him together.

Rev. Dr. Andrew Kukla
Lead Pastor
Andrew is the Head of Staff at FPC Boise. He has the privilege of working with a great team and walking alongside our special community in downtown Boise. He affectionately thinks of us as "a quirky family who has a lot of fun taking their faith seriously." Andrew is active in supporting Mission and Adult Education at FPC Boise. He is the primary preacher here and gets to deal with all the institutional stuff that no-one particularly loves. His greatest joy in church life is watching connections within the community grow and flourish. It's exciting for him to see people recognize what a vital and important part of our lives a community of faith can become.

Jim Gentle
https://thebucketministry.org/meet-the-team/
Jim was born in 1956 the second son of a young US Air Force
family and moved many times as his Dad transferred from one assignment to another .
Having to make new friends from so many different backgrounds pointed the way to a career in sales . In fact his first sales job started at the age of 6 when he walked the county roads going door to door selling greeting cards.
A commission check was a great motivator to learn the skill set needed to become more than your brothers or friends thought possible . It turned out to be the providence of God at work .
He and his wife got married right after high school . Three kids , five grandkids and just short of 50 years together . Guess the sales skills came in handy .
In 1989 Jim started in automobile sales , loved it and made it a career lasting 31 years . Funny thing , it wasn’t about a love for cars, it was a love for people that created that career .
Searching for a way to create significance over success God led him to The Bucket Ministry . He started out making donations but God had a bigger vision . Pastor Matt asked him to join a mission trip to Kenya.
“Next thing I knew I was out of the boat and standing in Nairobi Kenya . I had always dreamed of the chance to go to Africa but it never included the Kibera Slum . “
That trip changed everything .
He just came back from the Kenya Extreme Expedition and is headed to Kenya again in March and July of 2024 .
“I like to think of this as being in service to the KIng ” Being in fealty to the KIng means to do as He commands , go when He says to go and give it your best daily . The plan of the King laid out for you before the foundation of the earth will be greater than you could ever imagine” !
As Dave McDonald says : Have the courage needed to just get out of the boat !
Favorite Verse:
“For I know the plans that I have for you declares the Lord , plans for prosperity and not for disaster , to give you a future and a hope . “ -Jeremiah 29:11

With simple and plain persistence, he earned his Ph.D. from the University of Wyoming and has distinguished himself in the field of helping individuals live up to their potential. In 1997.
