Your Money, Your Rules | Money Mindset, Money Management, Abundance Mindset, Budgeting, Spirituality
Ready to stop avoiding your money?
You might look financially successful on the outside, but inside you feel anxious about money, unsure of what’s “enough,” or exhausted from trying to get it right.
Even with wealth on paper, your nervous system can still feel scarcity. You’re not the only one, and you’re in the right place.
Hi, I’m Erin, Spiritual Wealth Coach, former Certified Financial Planner, and CFO.
I created this podcast to help you build true financial confidence, not just more financial knowledge.
For years, I chased numbers in the bank account, outsourced decisions to financial advisors, and still felt guilt, pressure, and never “enoughness.” I didn’t realize I was stuck in a scarcity mindset.
What changed everything was realizing that money isn’t just about strategy, it’s about relationship. To feel safe and empowered with money, I needed nervous system regulation, emotional safety, and an abundance mindset.
On this podcast, we go beyond budgeting and financial planning.
We talk about money mindset, wealth embodiment, nervous system safety, and creating money systems that feel good to use, so you can stop spiraling in shame, ground into your worth, and experience real financial freedom.
If you’re ready to trust yourself with money and create wealth on your terms, this podcast is for you.
I’m so glad you’re here.
Let’s dive in.

In this episode, we explore Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) as a practical way to calm money anxiety, loosen the grip of rumination, and give your inner voice permission to finally speak the truth you’ve been avoiding.
By the end of this episode, you’ll have an understanding and a framework for when to tap, what to say, and how to notice your body’s signs of release, like yawns or tears.
What you’ll learn in this episode:
- Why fight/flight blocks money mindset shifts
- How EFT bypasses the mind and settles the body
- Why starting with “negative” statements matters for release

Today I'm going to share a snippet of a previous episode that I released on EFT, which is called Emotional Freedom Technique. It is a what some also refer to as tapping because I think that tapping or EFT is such an effective somatic tool that can help you release money fears and stress and just overall just calming the nervous system, moving the energy that is in your body. And obviously you have to use it for it to work. But what I have found with myself and so many clients of working with people is that I think a lot of us are actually in fight or flight and we don't even know it. And so when clients come to me, you know, they want to change their relationship with money. But until we have actually kind of released some of that underlying, what I call like the pantry, until we've gotten some of that out, until we've moved some of that energy, you know, it would be like going and, you know, taking a shower and then going and putting dirty clothes back on after. It's like you've got to move that energy. You have to release some of that energy to then believe new things, embody someone who is abundant and calm and peaceful in their nervous system. So I think what I like about EFT is that you really get to use it to, it just bypasses the mind. Um, it really gets into the body. And I think it has been extremely helpful for me, other clients, to really allow your nervous system to calm, to, to calm itself, to release the energy. I am going to put the entire video clip that I did on YouTube. It is already on YouTube. I'm going to put that entire video clip in the show notes for you. So all you have to do is click on the show notes link, and that will take you to the YouTube video that I did with Noelle and I, which is the EFT practitioner. And then you can watch the video so you can actually see how EFT works, why it works, and how to use it to support you. So let's dive into Noelle and I discussing how to actually use EFT.
Noelle:So tapping, especially if you're new to it, we can keep it very simple. And so literally you'd just be tapping all 10 fingers together. And so I said, Oh, it's easy. But then I get a little OCD about it where you want to make sure that you're tapping with some oomp, okay? Oomp in there, and you want to see if you can get the very tops of the fingers tapping together. You want to make sure your pinky and your thumbs are in the process. So this is option A. Then you got option B, which we could call the karate chop point. So you make like a kind of like hand. And then you're just tapping on the pinky side edge. And then you have the third option, which is to do the body tapping, you're running the gamut. And so what we're doing is we're catching kind of like all the hot spots in the top half of the body. And when you run the gamut, you're actually hitting the hot spots. When you're tapping with the fingertips, just finger tapping, it's kind of a catch-all where because all of the meridians they end in the fingertips. This is why that works so well, and that's why this also works so well. So I would always recommend this if you're just getting started. However, we can go through the actual gamut of the tapping points. How do you feel about doing that? Yeah. Sure. Okay. So you start at the top of the head. And you can use both. Or you can use one or the other. And then there are gonna be some spots where it's awkward to use both hands, but but you start at the top. Just do it for a breath or two. And you're gonna move to right above your eyebrow. So Erin's doing it with oh, she's doing it with one hand. You can do it with one or both. It doesn't matter. It's the effect is going to be cut on both sides. Then you're gonna come to your temple. And then a little bit more gently under the eye.
ErinGray:And just so for everyone that's listening that you're not watching on YouTube, like it's you are you're not doing it super hard, but you're for sure like tapping enough to where like you feel it, you know?
Noelle:Yeah, and then you're gonna come to the piltrum, so right underneath the nose. And then you're gonna go to the chin. And then you're just doing like a mid-tempo tapping, 10 or so taps. We've probably done 20 by now. And then you're gonna locate your collarbones, like that area, but there's gonna be that dip. There's like a soft little soft spot there, that's what you're tapping on there. Then you're gonna find a rib cage, so like right at the breastbone.
ErinGray:I always say like underneath my bra strap for women, right? Like is that going to your breastbone first? Okay.
Noelle:So um like your sternum? Sternum, yes. And then underneath like the armpit. So yeah, the armpit or the bra. And so that's it. And then you start again at the the top of the head.
ErinGray:So let's dive into because you start off when you're doing this, and I always advise like or suggest, I should say, suggest that if you're new to EFT, work with someone, you know, and if Noelle resonates with you, reach out to Noelle. But like work with someone for a couple of times to get you to understand like where are you tapping and getting the feeling and like the actual process of doing it. And so I think a lot of times what holds people up is because you actually start, when you start tapping, you actually start tapping and saying, and I'm air quoting the negative parts, right? The things that you don't want to think. Yeah, that you don't want to say. Thank you. I'm like, what is the word I want to use? Yeah, that you don't want to say. So, like, let's say we can use my example for last week, right? Like I was saying, like, what were some of the things that we were saying so that people can understand? Like it was about saying what I wanted to say, feeling love no matter who, like being feeling safe to say what I want to say, even if people disagree, right? Like that's kind of what we tapped on. So some of the some of the like, like, let's just use a what would be the air quotes negative things that I wouldn't want to, that I would want to start with, and that sometimes we don't necessarily want to say, because I think we've been taught in the self-development world, right? Like, oh, well, don't focus on the negative, don't focus on the negative vibration, stay positive, stay blah. And that is true long-term, right? That is true as a baseline emotion. If you are feeling fear, if you are feeling anger, if you are feeling stress, if you are feeling resentment on a consistent basis, then what that does to your body and your cells and what you are attracting is going to be more of that. And also in order to clear and let go of some of that in your subconscious, you say those things to release them. So the things that I was that I was focusing on from a negative, I'm trying to remember like what were we talking about from a negative air quotes. I'm saying negative, because I don't believe in positive or negative, but like a vibration-wise, right? Like the energy that that was holding was a lower vibration emotion.
Noelle:So like basically you're you weren't wanting to revel in a good feeling moment while other people's situations are not good. Yeah. Whatever comes up in your head, you know, the the mean girl version of us in our head, when we think we, you know, you have that moment, something happens throughout the day, and we find ourselves just ruminating on it, ruminating, like, why did I do that? Why did I do that? Why can I say this? That mean girl is who you want to have the microphone when you start. And so start even though, and then you just you bring up the word vomit, you bring up like the irrationality of the situation and how you're feeling. And like Erin was saying, this is really triggering, but this is the whole point. We do want to feel the trigger and give it some validation that it comes to the surface as the first step of changing it. So, in that situation, some things were like, I don't want to talk about this, and I can't really say what I'm thinking because how am I feeling this way, you know? Yeah. You know, so things like that, just the fears that that you're having running in the mind. This is your time to speak them out. And so what I've been saying to clients lately is we're always going to have, especially if you are more cerebral, you are you do resonate with the mental energy more. And if you've been doing, you know, your fair share of healing work, we get into this, oh, you know, puppies and rainbows, like kind of nice. It wasn't so bad, you know. I can't say how I really feel. Like it's a very therapeutic, nice cover-up. You know, we're trying to make the situation nicer because we have an understanding. We're like, yeah, we know that that person probably had a bad day and a bad start, you know, and they're not a terrible human being. We don't want to do that in tapping. That's not what we're doing here. You really want to give yourself permission to get a little irrational, upset, like upset, like your five-year-old self. Yeah. So you're gonna forget the intellect that you are now, the rational human being, and you want to take it back to the five-year-old fear because that is what is causing you to still be triggered right now. That part of you didn't get dealt with back then. Absolutely. You just say whatever comes up that even feels scary to say, and this is an important piece with tapping. You just say what you feel. I don't even want to talk about this, I don't want to do this. This is stupid, this is not gonna work. Tapping my fingers together, this is not working. You know, you say what's coming up, and so a big part of this is resistance. And the way resistance works, it's very sneaky. It's a very sophisticated um system within within us that we don't really know we have and knows us very well. So as you're tapping, this is another reason why we're like, just tap here, so you can concentrate on the verbiage and putting your energy toward finding whatever you need to say these things out loud, these scary things that you don't want anyone to know that you're thinking, just say them, you know. But that takes so much energy. So we want to focus there because there is gonna be resistance. You're trying to heal and get over something, and your resistance is like, no, that's not safe. That's new territory. We don't do new. Yeah, she thinks it's safe. We don't know. We don't know. We could get hit by a bus by doing this tapping thing. We're not doing it, we don't know what's gonna happen. So we want to speak that. Whatever's coming up for you, you speak it, you know? And I I don't I don't wanna sound like an insensitive bitch. You speak it, speak it with a tapping. Yep, and then I deeply love and accept myself, anyways, which I know how it sounds. But we want to consider that again, this is not supposed to make sense to or rationale. We want it to make sense to the part of us that's still hurt and stuck and does not feel like it's safe to be seen.
ErinGray:Yeah, because the five-year-old, the seven-year-old, the 10-year-old, the 12-year-old, whatever age it is, that that wasn't okay to feel what they needed to feel, right? Like we are, like you said, bypassing the mind, bypassing that conscious and getting into the subconscious, getting into the body, getting into that little kid that didn't, wasn't validated, wasn't seen, wasn't heard, and and you are doing that for yourself now. And so yeah, yeah. So I highly recommend you go and you watch the entire YouTube video. We break down, you know, how EFT works, why it works, how to actually do it, how it explains meridians in the body. Um, and if you want me to bring Noelle back on the podcast to dig into EFT more, I would be happy to. Just send me an email at support at generatealifewell lived.com and let me know. So my intention for you is to always develop and to have a toolkit for you, right? Like there are the mindset exercises we need to be doing. There are the somatic, the body exercises that we need to be doing. And then there is that spiritual connection that we also need to be doing. So start to develop to have a um things in your toolkit that you can use, not just when your nervous system is feeling heightened, but also regularly, right? On a consistent basis. Because when you are using these somatic practices on a consistent basis, the refractory period that you are able to come back to calm and peaceful is much shorter when you are doing this these somatic practice practices on a consistent basis, right? So you are able to return to that parasympathetic state that we are all meant to live and thrive in on a much faster, easier time period. Okay, I hope this was beneficial for you. Let me know if you want me to have Noelle back on the podcast to dive into EFT more and play with this. Start to use this, see if this is helpful for you. Energy looks all different kinds of ways. Sometimes I'll cry, sometimes I'll burp, sometimes I'll yawn. There's all different ways to move that energy, but just start and practice it and see how your body feels. Okay, I'll see you in the next episode.
