In this episode, we explore why doing the work first matters, how honoring a body-led “no” builds trust, and why consistency doesn’t have to mean pushing through. I share how travel opens insight, creates energetic shifts, and offers clarity when we allow space instead of force.

In this episode, we explore:

  • Honoring a body-led no over mental chatter
  • Redefining consistency as congruence with your values
  • Teaching and coaching from lived embodiment, not theory
  • Creating spacious days for insight, receptivity, and clarity
  • Designing business rules that fit your nervous system
  • Reflection prompts to notice force versus flow
  • How travel and space can catalyze energetic shifts

Erin Gray:

Today on the podcast, I actually want to share a little bit about what is going on with me, let you see kind of behind the scenes. I know I teach a lot on the podcast, but today I really want you to take what I'm talking about in terms of embodiment and apply it to your life. So let's dive in. I don't know if I mentioned this or not, but I will be in Maui next week. And I wanted to share some things that have been kind of coming in for me and recognizing what is going on in my body. And I want you like to take what I am saying and see like how does this apply to you? You know, one of the things that I could do is I could push myself, I could batch record. And typically I do batch record two to three episodes a week to, you know, for the for the next week, but that doesn't feel in my body right now, that doesn't feel good to me, authentic to me, with an integrity and alignment. Like when I ask my body, do I want to batch record before I go? I get a no. And one of my values is practicing what I preach and and going first, doing this work for first. And for me, growth is not pushing and doing more and working while I'm gone and batch recording. Like that is all the stuff that I call Aaron 1.0 used to do. I used to bring my laptop on vacation. I would work and we would do, I would do payroll, and there would be all of these things that I would still be doing or pushing myself leading up to some type of time off. And when I asked myself and I asked the body, like, is this actually what you want to do? I got to know. And I think some of our biggest work and work that I do with clients is really tuning in and listening to your body and trusting that what the body is telling you is far more intuitive and going to get you where you want to go than what the mind wants to do. And I know and I have been sensing for the last couple of weeks that there are big things that are going to be coming down the pipe while I'm in Maui. Obviously, reflections after when I come back home. And even leading up to it, it feels like an energy shift. And I want to honor that and I want to be fully present for that. And me batch recording and getting things out just because someone has said along the way that this is what you're supposed to do and you're supposed to be consistent with your podcast, which I do feel like that I am consistent with my podcast. And I also think that I'm very real. And I want you to also not that you need my permission, but I also want to, I guess, give you permission, but also you give yourself permission to follow your knowing and your intuition. Now, part of the reason why I called this podcast Your Money, Your Rules, because it is about not just your money doing your money your way, but it's about doing life your way on your own terms, following your intuition, returning back home to yourself, honoring your knowing, listening to your body, having your body be your compass and your guide. And that means running your business the way that feels good and intuitively, you know, correct for you. And that might look different than business advice that you have received in the past, or maybe what maybe what your business bestie is doing. And so for me, it is important, like one of the values that I have is to go first, is to embody and to teach from embodiment, not in theory. Like, hey, I'm always a big one or proponent. Like, I will not coach you on anything I have not gone through myself because I can't teach it from an experiential place. You know, it's one thing to teach in theory, it's another to be like, hey, I've been where you've been. Obviously, your journey might be different than mine, but like I have walked your path and I know what that feels like and how it feels in the body and things of that sort. And so honoring that and listening, you know, and and teaching from that place or coaching and mentoring from that place feels true and authentic to me. And and being a product of my product is something that is very important to me. So when I have been sitting with this and I asked the body on numerous occasions, you know, do you want to do that? Do you want to batch record? I gotta know. And the mind wanted to be like, yeah, but you know, you're supposed to be consistent. And like I heard the mind chatter, but then I went back to the body and I was like, Yeah, but body, yes or no? And it was a simple just no. And I think what is being asked of me right now is to slow down even more, to not push, to be in alignment with what I teach, to honor my body to my knowing. Like this feels like next level for me. And so I want you to think about where is your body asking something of you and you are going against what your body is asking? Where are you asking your intuition something and you're going against your intuition? And how can you connect even more to your intuition and follow it? So I'm gonna be gone next week. There will be no episodes. I have several well-watching trips scheduled, lots of probably walking on the beach, contemplation. Maybe I'll get in some surfing. I like to surf um with someone just because I have such profound respect for the ocean. And on the one hand, it's nice to go surfing by yourself because it's just you and the ocean. And also it feels good because I'm I'm not going with my family or anyone. So I'm literally there like by myself. It feels good to go with someone to be, yeah, just with someone. Like it feels like when I say responsible, what I mean is just like it, it just feels like the the true thing to do. I might get some e-foiling in. I don't know. I have definitely just left it open, a wide schedule, and just really be able to tap into my body and to flow and to really see like what comes up for me that week. Allow a lot of receptivity, downloads, kind of just wake up and let's just see like where the day takes me, besides, you know, a couple of well-watching trips and things of that sort. But I've left my schedule completely open and just allowing what is meant to come to me. So while I am away, I invite you to reflect. Where are you forcing things in your life when your body is actually asking for more flow and ease? And where could you follow your knowing and intuition more instead of pushing against it or resistance? So I'll be back that first week of February. I'm sure I will have all of the downloads. I I always get so many profound ahas and thoughts that I, you know, that occur to me as I am traveling. It's like I love travel for so many reasons, new environments. It really increases my capacity to have like my body just loves to travel. It is actually rejuvenating for me in like life force giving. And so I'm sure I'll come back with all the episodes, all the aha's and things of that sort. And while I'm gone, spend some time thinking about where am I, you know, like for you, ask yourself, where am I forcing? Where am I pushing? Where am I running my business from a place of what someone told me I should do then versus what my body is actually telling me? So I love you. I will see you that first week of February.
