Episode #186 Laura Ordile Hypnosis, Color, And The Subconscious: Practical Paths To Real Change
What if change could feel easier than you’ve been told? We sit down with hypnotherapist and color coach Laura Ordile to explore how subconscious work, NLP, and energy practices can loosen old loops, quiet anxiety, and turn insight into lasting action. Laura shares why hypnosis became her “practical” choice, how early protective parts can keep us stuck, and what it takes to update those patterns with compassion instead of force.
We dig into common myths—no one can make you cluck like a chicken without consent—and focus on what actually happens in a session: integration, not erasure; movement, not suppression. Laura explains the “root-and-weed” model of trauma, how NLP unhooks intense emotion from memories in minutes, and why emotions are meant to pass through rather than define our days. For the skeptics and the curious alike, she offers grounded examples: easing IBS and chronic pain, untangling anxiety, and helping habits shift when willpower alone falls short.
One of the most surprising tools is color. White for clarity, blue for truth, green for abundance—anchoring your intention with a visible cue trains the mind to gather the right signals from the world. We also share how to choose a practitioner you trust, what red flags to avoid, and why falling asleep during deep work can be a sign your system finally feels safe. The core message is simple but powerful: you’re never too broken to heal, and the moment you take a step, the path steps back.

SPEAKER_04:Hello, my wonderful listeners. Tracy Seawright, and this is Ready Set Reiki. Today I have a wonderful guest, Laura O'Deal. Now, she is a master in hypnotherapy, specializing in guiding individuals through transformative life changes. Certified in neurolinguistic programming and life coaching, she leverages her intuitive abilities to bring clients to their happiest and most successful selves. As a certified color coach and infinite possibility trainer, she incorporates the power of the subconscious into her approach to personal growth. Based in Montana, she finds joy in the scenic countryside and cherishes moments with her family and friends. Laura, welcome to Ready Set Reiki. Thank you so much. Thank you. I'm so glad to be here. All right. Well, I am so excited to find out, you know, the ins and outs of uh certified color coaching and infinite possibility trainer. This is, I think you're the first here on the show. So let's begin our journey together. So tell us a little bit about yourself.
SPEAKER_02:A little bit about myself. Well, you heard a little bit about it in the introduction. I live in Montana and uh thankfully I get to spend time with my family here and uh my kids and grandkids and puppies and kitties and all the fun things. And I am a huge sci-fi fan. I love sci-fi. And I have been working in energy work in some way. But you know, I guess you look back and you kind of go, well, okay, it's been there all my life. But and recognize it and and start to understand and play with it a little bit. I think I kind of had that moment about, well, gosh, it's 20-something years ago now, uh, when I figured out that intuition was a real thing and could be used and could be worked with, and it kind of snowballed from there into all of the things that I decided to dip into. Some I thought would be too complicated for me over the over the path of learning. But as they say, the right teacher came at the right time, and I was able to kind of dive into those. And with hypnosis, I this is this is so fine. People laugh at me for this, but I was doing all the wonderful woo things, the astrology, the intuition, the color work, all of this energy work that was in there. And I thought, I need something really practical. I want something, you know, to to really put into play that's practical. And so I chose hypnosis. And for some people, they're like, that's your practical choice. Yeah, for me, that was my practical choice. Yeah. And it's all kind of come together. Uh, you know, they say all roads lead to Rome, and and I think eventually we all kind of find that all those different paths that we're on come together and you're able to work together in in Rome or in that little hub that combines them all and lets you see how related so many of them really are.
SPEAKER_04:Right. It's amazing as you take that healing journey going along and you're picking up these different types of modalities, and then you find that just right one for yourself. But you're able to have those other modalities to be of service to other people, but you're not realizing it as you're going through, you know, the motions here. It's like, why do I why am I called to this? Why am I called to that? And you may not necessarily like it so much, but you'll find, wait, I get this now. It all makes sense why I chose to do this or was pulled to do this, because in some way it's helping you do what you're doing now. So it's just an amazing journey, isn't it?
SPEAKER_02:It is, it really is. It's it's something that when you come to that understanding, when you come to that moment of like, oh, well, I see how this is the same almost energy work as this is. It's just a a little bit different way of getting there, or a little bit different way of doing something. And so when you see those things and you're like, oh, that's that's this, or this is that. And then and then you're able to go, oh, okay, well, we're gonna get there regardless. Right, right. So it's whatever I'm comfortable with, whatever I feel good with. Uh it and it doesn't have to be, I think you and I, you know, we spoke for a minute before we hopped on, and you said something that I believe immensely that it's not about gifts or that something is there. It's about what you choose to access and and what flows easiest for you. So people often say, You have a gift, or you have this. It's like, no, no, no, no. We all have access to all this information out there. You just choose what flows easiest for you. You might have a particular way of being in the world that article cards work good for you, or mediumship is a good thing for you, or and and however that energy moves through you and feels comfortable is how you should how you should play.
SPEAKER_04:Right, right. Well, and the lineage of my family, I would say that my grandmother had the ability, um, you know, psychic ability through dreams and everything. My mother, you know, would color herself as a Christian. And so for her, this is a no-no. But my mother saw things in dreams, my mother knew things, but she would shut it down. Like she was against me doing the yoga, she was against me doing sound bowls, she called them demon bowls, you know, and so she was against all that. And but just imagine what she would have been capable of if she was open to that experience with it. But it was something, and now, you know, I have it, I see it in my daughters, and they have this ability as well. And I'm not approaching it as the way she did. I said, well, you know, listen to it and find your right path. But she was like, absolutely no. Like, I don't know why you're doing this. This is not of God, this is not of the light. So, you know, a lot of people have that culturally created self where they're not open to these things, where they're okay, let me just try it. You know, Reiki is something that does no harm, right? You know, other modalities as you study, you're trying to be a service. So it all comes back to kind of when I say to her, it comes back to what Jesus wanted to do on earth, help others, right?
SPEAKER_02:Well, I think I actually, yeah, I I have come to truly believe I went through uh a lot of when I grew up, I went through a lot of different versions of uh churches, Christianity, religion, all these, a lot of different ones. And and I learned through that, that was one of my biggest epiphanies, I think, in life, that's continued, is that it's it's so much simpler than we try to make it. And and I think, and I and that's no offense, if you have a religion and you're comfortable with it and you find that it's a good way for you to go, then that's your path. But I found that that it it is simpler, and and the people that build some of those things and those rules, they did the best they could at certain points, but it was to try to uh they they brought a lot of humanization and rules and things. Jesus was this incredible master, and he tried to tell people about the energy of the world. If you look at what he said and how he said it and the things that he said, he was incredible, he was connected to the energy of our universe in a way that we're all meant to be connected, and he tried to tell people that. And people said, Oh, you're amazing, and he's like, No, you're amazing too. But they they just couldn't quite grasp it, and so he got you know put into a position of of um deity, I guess you would say, right, and uh, but he had incredibly smart, smart words of for everyone all along the way, right?
SPEAKER_04:And I mean, and I have just learned, and I'm sure you experience the same thing in my journey of life that my intuition has usually been spot on. And when I don't listen to it, I end up coming to realize, man, I should have listened. I mean, just think about it. It's like, yeah, you shouldn't go down that road, right? Don't get into that car, like, don't take that job. It gives you those little warnings and it'll teach you, you know, how to navigate through life if you trust it. And so shutting that down, you know, can really hinder somebody. So you can frame it as a gift, but it's, you know, you can look at it as God, Jesus helping you navigate through life, right?
SPEAKER_02:I think well, and and a lot of people will say intuition is a sixth sense, but it's not, it's actually a first sense. It's the sense that comes and and then uses all the other senses to provide you that information to help you. And and everybody's a little bit different in their senses of what they recognize best or feel most comfortable in. Some people will see things, some people will have dreams, some people will just know. Oh my goodness, or some people will hear actual words, or they'll hear a song and it'll just resonate somehow differently. The words, one line in a song that just feels so different in them. And they're like, Oh, that's that's something. And when they feel that, that's something, that's intuition, that's guiding you. And how many times have you walked by something or done something, you know, walk by a glass on the counter and thought, oh, I should move that? And you don't, and then you walk by again and it goes pow, you know, it gets knocked over, it goes on the ground, it does something, and you do think, oh, I knew it. I knew I should have done something. Recognize that, recognize those feelings because that's the that's the key right there. People often ask, how do I recognize intuition as opposed to random thoughts or fear or something like that? And and if you notice in the moment, oh, what what what did that feel like? What was that? Where did where did that come from in my body? How did I feel that? And you start to play with that, have fun with that, and and do little things to boost your intuition, you'll recognize it a lot quicker and a lot easier, and you won't go down those roads that are and sometimes that's that's a hard thing when you have to say, I know that's what you're telling me, or I know that's what you're saying, but I feel something different, and I have to go this way. I have to do something a little bit different.
SPEAKER_04:Absolutely. So you work with a subconscious. So tell me when did subconscious work come into your life? When did you have that pull to go into that direction?
SPEAKER_02:Specifically, it came in about six years ago, uh, when it came into learning hypnosis. And and I was doing all of these things and and I felt really good about it. I actually had a corporate job at that time. Um so I was doing a lot of stuff just kind of on the side and and learning along the way. And and I'm also I'm I'm very practical. I want things to be useful, and everything I do is useful. It gives people information to use, but I wasn't having like an active role in helping someone, if that makes sense. I could give them information, I could give them direction, but if they were struggling with making the change, I didn't specifically have a way of helping them flick that switch or or change the channel or do whatever it is that they needed to do. And so I wanted something that was that was in that realm and more quote unquote practical. So I chose hypnosis. And people laugh. It's like hypnosis was your practical yes. Yes, hypnosis was practical. And once I started diving into that, uh, and I chose it specifically for one reason as well, because the person I was talking with that was teaching it would talk about how he could go in and help people that were in the military, that were uh in in police, that were in things where they could not articulate or explain what the what the problem was. It's like they because they weren't allowed to speak to why they were struggling. And and so he was still able to go in and help them in ways that changed everything for them going forward. And as I learned about that, it's like, yes, yes, because I come from a military family and I've seen a lot of things. And in the process of that initial learning, I've come to learn through more in-depth training with PTSD, with CPTSD, with trauma, that it's not just the military, it's not just the the um first responders and people like that that have those little anchors of trauma within. I've learned so many people have so much going on inside of them that they don't realize that there's that little hook inside of them that's holding them back, that's causing the migraines, the IBS, the stuckness in their life. And just by going in with the subconscious, we're able to go in and kind of reconcile the things that they might not even be aware of. It could have happened when they were a year old or earlier. I've had people that that it happens earlier in life. Uh, one person I worked with went back to uh some issues when they were actually in the womb. And and they they understood, they were, you know, far enough, they were hearing and and and now they were able to understand what it is they were hearing, kind of what was going on, what the difficulty was. And coming up through that, it was like, oh, and so it goes in and kind of hits the reset button and allows us to move forward in a way that we would never be able to. Because what happens is there are moments in life that, and there's usually an initial moment that kind of plants a seed of a weed that then starts to grow as we go through life, and it has this little sprig and that little sprig and this one. And what happens is people come in and they'll fix one thing, and so they clip off the little top of that weed and then they clip off, but then something else grows, something else grows, and until they go in and get that seed, that root, and get that out, all of these little things are gonna keep coming back, and we have little versions. Have you ever seen those little dolls, the little one inside the other? Yeah, we have little versions that from the time we're tiny, our subconscious is protecting us from the time it's created, from the time we're created, it's protecting us, and it's establishing like a hard drive and a computer, how to do that. So from the time we're born, or just before, actually, to about seven years old, it kind of establishes the operating system that we're going to be running off of in our life. And so it goes into that mode and it protects us along the way. Well, if you're a year old and your parents have this big fight, this little version of you goes, Oh my goodness, you know, that's like a little trauma for this tiny version of you. And so your subconscious comes forward and goes, I've got you, I'm gonna protect you. And it creates this little tiny warrior version of you that allows that moment and you move forward. A few years later, you know, you start school, you get bullied, here comes your subconscious. I'm gonna protect you, I've got you. Again, creating another little version of you, you move forward. So it's you've got all these little versions that have been built to protect you inside of you, but unfortunately, they might be living in a moment that is traumatic, kind of stuck in a loop. And so, what I do is I go in, and your subconscious knows everything about you, it's been there all along. So I don't have to know when that moment was or what that situation was. I go in and have the conversation with your subconscious, and it goes back and says, Oh, that's right here. And then we're able to kind of bring uh a consensus back together to allow you to clear or integrate that version of you back in so that you're whole, you're right, there's nobody fighting against you. Because that little version of you often um I explain it a couple different ways. One way is it as a puppy. Uh, if you've ever had a puppy, that puppy comes up and wants attention. I want attention, I want attention. And if you don't give it attention, it runs off and it pees on your carpet and it chews up your shoes and it does not go well. But if you give it attention, you have that lifelong friend that's there with you all along the way. The thing is that that little version of you, that puppy, is often in the driver's seat. If it wants to in your subconscious, it can come in and it can go, you know what? I'm gonna give you pain in your life if you don't pay attention to me. So the other version is like an angry teenager. You've probably been an angry teenager, or you've had one. And when a teenager gets angry, they can be vicious. That's just the immaturity and the and the level of of things, they they throw everything they can and and they don't care because they don't realize that, oh, I'm actually hurting somebody, I'm doing something. If you have that angry teenager driving the bus saying, we're gonna go this way, we're gonna go this way, and I'm not gonna let you move forward, have what you want, live in the way you want until I get what I want, we need to do a little bit of negotiating. And I so I often term myself as a hostage negotiator in that situation. When there's, you know, when you're having chronic illness or you're having um something really difficult going on, uh, anxiety, anger, something like that that's out of control in your life right now. It's not about you might need to find a way to get through it in a moment, but it's not about um just. Managing it. It's about clearing it for me, getting rid of it so that it doesn't take over your life. And we're all meant to have emotions. We're all meant to have anxiety, anger, frustration, happiness, joy, all of it. But we're never meant to be stuck in it, living in it on a daily basis. We're meant to experience it, allow it to flow through, move on. That's the human experience. So I would never want to take away your emotions. I just want you to allow them to move through you in the way that they're meant to. That was a lot. I said a lot right there.
SPEAKER_04:Very good, very good. But it was needed. So this will help someone. So very good. So what as you're out talking to people, and you know, you've been doing this for a number of years now. What do you find is a common misconception about subconscious work?
SPEAKER_02:That there's a couple of them, especially when it comes to hypnosis. Uh, people will feel like um uh that I am gonna somehow take over and do things in their mind that they they don't want to happen, or uh I'm gonna implant something that's going to hurt them or cause them to, you know, cluck like a chicken or something like that. I don't know because they have that version of it that is stage hypnosis. And something they need to remember, everyone needs to remember, is that those people gave permission. They gave permission to just have fun, to just play, to just see what's gonna be there. But at the same time, you see the power of hypnosis that goes in and says, I'm open, let's change things. Okay, let's cluck like a chicken. Well, I'm not gonna make you clock like a chicken. I'm gonna go in and say, let's find the road to happiness. Let's find the quickest, easiest, most complete way, because your mind is connected to all the energy that's out in the world, and it's gonna find it way better than I could. Let's find the way that's gonna help you change the habits that you have, to lose the weight that you want, to stop the habits that that you find, you know, destructive in your life. Let's find a new path. And your subconscious can find that path. I'm just the initiator that says, Hey, how you doing? Let's have a conversation because this isn't working anymore. We need to reprogram, take this line out, and you need to add in whatever it is that's going to be added in. So so another thing is that people think it's only about deleting stuff, getting rid of stuff. It's often about adding in things too, confidence, motivation, um, the feelings that we want to feel in life. It's about changing the perspective of how you see things so that you can find that center and that peace. That's my goal for most people, is to allow you to go, oh, yeah, that difficult thing is happening, but I'm okay. And I'm gonna move through it in an okay way. I'm not going to fall apart or live in anxiety or live in worry. I'm gonna be okay. And so that no matter what happens around you, I can help you to feel okay in that. Because you already know how to do that. I'm just kind of hitting that little reset button that says, navigate this a little bit different. And and some of the other things that kind of happen there is what if I can't be hypnotized or I can't make those changes, or what if I do it wrong? What if I don't do it in the way that it's supposed to be done? And I tell people, for me, as a hypnotist, you can't do it wrong. You just can't. Because most people experience hypnosis and and and tapping into the subconscious on a daily basis. It's running everything you're doing. You're breathing, you're talking, you're operating a car. You're how many of you have driven down the road and all of a sudden you're almost home and you're like, wait, what happened? I I don't remember, you know, the last 10 minutes of something. That's hypnosis, that's going into that state. Or you're hyper-focused in a movie and you're feeling it, and you're and you're there, and then you jump because something's that's hypnosis, that's that focused state, and allowing yourself to just kind of go along for the ride. So whether someone is out of it in in the process of working with the subconscious and they just drift, I don't care if you fall, honestly, I personally don't care if you fall asleep because you're still gonna be hearing and you still come up out of it when I when I bring you out of it. Uh, but I don't care if you're asleep halfway out of it, drifting in and out, or if you're very aware through the entire process. Whatever it is that your mind and body are ready for and will work with. And oftentimes when they come in for the first time, they do kind of because they don't know what to expect. They do stay at that more aware point of I want to know what's happening. I want, I want to know what you're saying. I don't want you to say anything I don't like or that I'm uncomfortable with. And I I do a whole session that kind of introduces them to hypnosis and to how it's gonna go. And so that they can tell me, you know, I did great through the whole thing, or I didn't like this one part. That was a little uncomfortable for me. Then I can change that. It's great.
SPEAKER_04:I had a hypnosis past life uh regression, and I had heard many different people saying different things. So when I showed up to it, I was all tense and it took a little while for me to relax and then drift off into sleep. So yeah, so it's great to hear this version of it. So it kind of breaks down these misconceptions so that you're able to comment confidently. And I see a lot of similarities or hearing a lot of similarities between what you do and what Reiki does, because Reiki does no harm. It's helping moving that energy, it's helping you get unstuck, it's giving you the tools, it's helping you make friends with the ego, right? And it's helping shed those layers of that culturally created self. So, all right. So you help so many people get unstuck, you help them through transformation in their life changes. But what has been the biggest challenge or struggle you have faced in your own healing journey?
SPEAKER_02:In my own healing journey uh was trying to make it more complicated or trying to think that that there had to be something more that I was not doing or that I, you know, I needed to do or wasn't doing correct, or or or something like that, instead of kind of relaxing into it a little bit more and just saying, okay, let's see what happens with this. Let's give it a little time, let's see how this goes. And to know that sometimes it does take a little bit of repetition or a little bit of uh more than one and done type thing that is gonna allow the pathway in your brain to change, to move in a direction. I think NLP and hypnosis and working with the subconscious in any way is a great shortcut. Instead of climbing the mountain and trying and trying and making it so hard to move to, and that's what I was doing in life was I was climbing and and and really trying to force my way into things and force my way into what I wanted. And and finding the subconscious was like finding this little tunnel underneath that that mountain and just going opening the door and going, here's the easy way, let's go this way. And you get to the same place and it just allows things. But yeah, you are gonna, you are gonna still, I still listen to hypnosis recordings pretty regularly. If I'm if I'm feeling a little bit of something here or I want to boost something there, maybe I'm uh I want to boost my business or I want to boost my income. I'll listen to things that that go, oh, okay, so that's the center of attention that we want right now. That's the focus. And I remind my my unconscious, my subconscious, same thing, to here's my focus right now. Let's focus on this. Or if I need healing of a certain kind, I bring that into focus. And that's often where color can be a super fun, quick way to do it. Because when you initiate color, I actually learned color through energy work to work with it as an energy. And I realize, of course, energy are our our subconscious is energy, it's connecting to energy because that's information. And so I I use it all the time now as a great way for people. So if someone wants to bring clarity into their life, they can do a little tiny activation, which is like an intention, to say, I need clarity, and I'm gonna initiate white as the as the way to clear things, to bring clarity. And then we've given our subconscious an anchor, and you literally can bring in like a sheet of paper, a white sheet of paper, or a white shirt, or something that says, Here's my little reminder, my anchor, so that my subconscious knows this is what I'm doing right now, this is what I'm focusing on. And then also, unconsciously or subconsciously, however you want to say it, uh, every time you see white out in the world, your subconscious goes, She's looking for clarity. We're gonna go find that information out in the universe that's gonna bring her clarity, and we're gonna and we're gonna do that little cheat code and bring it in, and you'll have that moment that goes, Oh, that's that's what that is, and you move forward. And so those colors are a wonderful way to do that. You know, blue, blue is a great way to bring in truth and wisdom and open the door for that if you're really in the moment of I need to know my own truth, or green, great for communication, uh, business, abundance, all of that. You can activate green and bring that in. So there are these amazing ways to bring about all of these things that we want.
SPEAKER_04:Right. And that's some great offerings there to, I'm gonna try that out today. So white clarity, it's happening. I love it, I love it. So you had shared a little bit about how, you know, when you need that little boost, you you listen to others, uh, whether it's um, you know, with business or things going on in your personal life. But when it's time for you to get that subconscious tune up, what qualities do you look for in someone who does subconscious work?
SPEAKER_02:What qualities do I look for? I look for um well, I know so many now. I just know and trust. Yeah, someone that I I know I've maybe followed even on social media for a little while, uh, that I've chatted with a little bit, that I know kind of how they're going to work or what they believe, and that it doesn't, because there are people out there in the field that I do that I would not go to that I don't see the comments they make, or I see the information that they put out, and it's like that just doesn't set well with me or doesn't ring true for me. Um, or they're I have to say, some people, you know, they're too abrasive, they're too whatever it is. Uh, I want someone who's no nonsense, but not a jerk. And and and some people don't care if you're a jerk, they're like, oh, they get it done. And uh, but I know I would come up against that person and and probably end up challenging, that's not gonna work for me. But I also need someone who's who's um not super fluffy and not specific. If I need something specific or I need to move forward in a way, I I don't need you to just tell me, well, we'll just we'll see how it goes and what happens and and and you know, trust. And it's like, well, okay, but I need a little bit of direction to move forward. So I have to find that happy medium for me. Some people might feel okay because they don't, they they do need just the lightness and and the energy of feeling light because they're so heavy in their own heart right now. They need to lift, they need to be in that moment, and they should look for that, the lightness that's there. Um, and I I trust people that have the practical and the woo side because I do believe in the energy that's out there. I do believe in all of the different connections. Personally, I want to be careful because I don't want to um I don't believe um in the negativity of the energy. So I'm careful to not look for someone who's going to um dwell in the negativity that might have a s a huge amount of negativity. We all have things that we carry, we all have things that we do um have our mind go in a in a direction that would be considered negative, but I believe that we can clear that pretty quickly and find a new path. I don't think that uh that we need to dwell in the negativity of things. So I'm careful about that for me personally.
SPEAKER_04:Okay. I had an uncle that, you know, wanted to stop smoking. This was quite some time ago, and no, this was successful. That what worked for him. So if someone's listening to this and they're like, well, I'm stuck, I've tried this, I've tried that, perhaps this is an avenue to explore. What are some red flags that you would tell them as they're looking for that particular person to help them?
SPEAKER_02:I gosh, you know that's hard. But uh just because there's so many different versions of how people work with hypnosis, some people really do like work in the spiritual side of it with with past lives and future lives, and and really being on the spiritual side, and there's so much fun and interesting things there that you can expand and go on, you know, going to the in-between time and and all of these. If you if you do need that, that that a life path type thing, go in that. Uh, but if you I don't ever absolutely guarantee the work that I do. Um, if you are someone who is at a place that wants to stop smoking and you're willing and ready, yes, absolutely, I want to work with that person. And I will say, I will do everything I can. You just have to be willing. But if someone comes to me and says, Well, so-and-so wants me to quit, my wife wants me to quit, they want to quit. I won't work with them because it's like when you're ready, when you know that it's for you, then come. But there are people out there that will say, Yeah, I'll work with you, it doesn't matter what the situation is, what that to me is a bit of a red flag because not everyone is in a position where they're ready for that help. So it's going to be frustrating for both sides. And then someone will just say, Well, you know, no. And if someone won't talk to you for at least a few minutes, uh, to me, that's a red flag. If they won't give you their time ahead of time in some way, shape, or form, then I won't, I would not work with them. You know, I have a free 20-minute call that that you're able to kind of come come and have a conversation with me. Some people charge a little bit, they might charge, you know,$25, something like that. That's fine. I understand that. That's absolutely great. Um, but if they won't have that pre-conversation, then then to me, I would that would be a red flag. Always be willing uh and have someone willing to talk with you about can we connect? Do you think you can help me in this situation? You know, is it something that you do regularly and be able to ask questions? If they won't answer questions for you, find someone else. Very good.
SPEAKER_04:I've been in the last few weeks um watching a gentleman on TikTok and uh very sweet, great sounding voice. Uh, and he'll guide us through these 20-minute experiences. And uh the hook that got me is he said, come on, join me. It's like you're sleeping with a hypnotist. So I was like, and so he calls himself the Hugh Hefner of hypnosis. So very sweet, very playful. And so he's like, and so he'll say, Come on, my little bunnies, you know, for for Hugh Hefner. So that's kind of what it got me. It's like, oh well, this is interesting. And sure enough, he puts me to sleep. So, but I I like that little playful side as well. So I've been listening to him for a few weeks now, and uh he's on TikTok.
SPEAKER_02:Um and that connection is that connection is super important, and that's what I mean. You know, if you're following someone, finding someone interesting, uh, and of course, if you're doing subconscious work or you're doing something with hypnosis or something like that, you have to be okay with their voice. So find a record or experience something, you know, that that that allows you. Sometimes my hypnotic voice is a little bit different than the voice that I have. So, you know, I have stuff out there that you can go listen to that that helps you go, oh, okay, I would be okay with that. But if it's the if it grates on you, oh my goodness, that will never work, you know.
SPEAKER_04:So yeah, yeah. I have another teacher that, oh goodness, I've been with her for about five years and met her through um over with COVID happened, and she does yoga nidra. And at this point, as soon as she starts, and in the practice of yoga nidra, that is that subconscious work as well. And that's that invitation that you're awake and aware and not fall asleep. But I tell her, man, you knock me out. I mean, she plays sound bowls in the middle. I don't even make it to that, but I think that's just how my body works that I have to be kind of knocked out to do that subconscious work. So yeah.
SPEAKER_02:And for me, that's okay. The work that I do. That's okay because the work that I do is often so deep that I want you to be relaxed. I want sometimes for people who have had trauma in their life, any any bird, big trauma, little trauma, whatever you want to call it, it's trauma. And so they've had trauma. Their body doesn't remember how to relax completely. On guard all the time, it's it's on alert. And it and so if I can get to that point where they can just simply relax, that's a huge change. And things happen there that are amazing and magical, like nothing else.
SPEAKER_04:Because I'm always go, go, go, go, go. So when I have these experiences, whether it's a Riki attunement, Yoga Nidra, hypnosis, I'm I'm out. And I when I've done trainings and they share in the group, they'll be the other people in the class. They'll have these amazing visions. I had this. There was, I saw Jesus, this happened, this happened. And then I'm usually the last to share because I'm like, yeah, I was out. It's just a fuck all sorry. It's like yeah, and that's just how it works for me. Like it's like, we're knocking this girl out. So what advice would you give someone who's just entering the work? Uh, this work, you know, you said you were in the corporate world uh and they decide this is it, I'm either retiring, I'm I'm choosing to move forward in this. So, what words of wisdom can you give them as they start their uh journey into this work?
SPEAKER_02:First of all, I want to tell everyone that no matter where you're at in your life, no matter what you're doing, if you do if you're struggling with something physically, emotionally, mentally, you're never too broken to be healed. You're never too broken to be healed, and you do not have to learn to live with any of the crappy things that you think you have to learn to live with, because we get told that a lot in life. You just have to learn to live with that, work around it, adjust your life, you know, do those things. Most of the time, no, you don't. No, you don't. And if you want change, if you want to move into something different, start by hitting the reset button. Start by going in and clearing the clutter and clearing it away. I I do that often with entrepreneurs who are stuck or who are ready to go to a new level, ready to move up. And they just want to make sure things are there's nothing in the way that's gonna stop them because they want to, they want to hit the ground running, they want to move forward, they want to have progress. And I allow that, I open the door for that. And if you have something, you know, in the in the way as you're moving forward, moving into something, it can be overwhelming, frustrating. It can feel like I made the wrong choice, I I don't know what the heck I'm doing. Who am I to do this? You know, all the all the fun stuff that comes up when you step into something new, I'm never gonna get it. And if you can go in, clear that and kind of boost yourself a little bit in the beginning, bring in a little bit of confidence, bring in a little bit of motivation, and and have that there for you to help you along the way. It's gonna be so much easier. So, so if you want to make it a little bit simpler, a little bit easier, then do that. If you want to go the hard way, hey, go everybody wants to do it a little bit different. Some people do want to take the hard way, climb the mountain, feel every little accomplishment. Some people want that magic of opening the door and going and getting where they need to be and still feeling the accomplishment, having the success, having those things in your life, but going like, wow, that was so much easier than I thought. And that's me. I like that one. And so I and that's fine. However, you feel good in your life, do it that way. But if you want to avoid a lot of those little traps and a lot of those things, kind of come into that alignment first, hit that reset button to begin with, and then see how things flow and go and and see where you need to make little adjustments along the way. Great advice.
SPEAKER_04:So, what services do you offer? And where can everybody find you?
SPEAKER_02:Uh, it's probably easiest to find. Well, I'm all over the place under my name, and it's L-A-U-R-A-O-R-D-I-L-E. It looks like Laura or Dial. It's Laura or Dial. And uh, so that's my website, and you can find a lot of information, and there's a tab there that says freebies. So there's about four things on there that you can get for free. Uh, I'm under my name on I think all of the social medias on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, all of those. I do have a podcast called The Change Gang, and and so that's out there, and that's also on YouTube that will come up when you search my name, so you can listen to it. It's on Amazon, Spotify, all the all the fun places. Um, and I was trying to think where else. Where else, where else am I? I am also uh there are a couple of recordings that you can go listen to. I have a couple on my own website, but there's another website called Catch PTSD. And it's C E C H Catch P T S D. And you can look my name up on there, and there are two hypnosis recordings on there. Uh, one is is a little bit of just that that initial one that I talked about. I think the the negativity clearing. I think that's the one that's on there. There's two. I know there's two. And so you can kind of get a feel for those are longer versions. You can find a couple uh of shorter ones. There's one that's uh to boost your success that's on my website that you can go grab. There's the color one. Uh there's a color guide with a tiny activation that's on my website. I always love to share that one with people because it is super fun. And so you can find all those.
SPEAKER_04:That's me. There you go. Beautiful, beautiful. Well, that ends our first part, and I'm going to continue to guide you into the I'll guide you into our second part, which is from social media and from our listeners here. So if you're ready, we'll go to the first one. Number one, can hypnotherapy really help people transform their lives?
SPEAKER_02:Absolutely. Absolutely. Uh, I've seen it happen more times than I can expect. I saw it happen in my own life, uh, with some of even just the bad habits or some of the things that I wanted to clear, but also in that moment of feeling okay and feeling good at the center. Because I used to have a lot of anxiety, I used to have a lot of different things, worry, you know, my brain took me in a lot of different places. And now I still go, oh, I don't like that situation, but I'm able to kind of go, okay, but we're gonna move through it. Okay, I'm gonna move through it in a way. But I have seen it in incredible situations. It clears IBS, it clears chronic illnesses like fibromyalgia. It can help change the energy level of people and bring that into a place that that changes everything. I actually, my mentor, I love the story that they tell, I won't go into the whole story, but there was a person who stuttered all of their life stuttered, and they went through the sessions with this person a couple of sessions, and I think it was three sessions in, and they came out and they were talking, and all of a sudden, both of them realized that this person was no longer stuttering. Wow. That that's the amazing part of working with the subconscious. It's the it's the control panel in in our whole life, and when and you you have access to that, and you're able to change things in ways that you would probably find incredible. So, yes, absolutely. Beautiful.
SPEAKER_04:Number two, can you tell me how a certified color coach can be of service to someone trying to transform their life?
SPEAKER_02:Yes, on the color color coaching part, as I explained a little bit before with color, it's a great way to kind of immerse yourself in the in the energy or direction of change that you want to make. So uh if you really want to change some of the relationships or kind of come into an understanding of that deep love and the interaction, or maybe you need a healing in the relationship that you're in in some way to try and help reconnect. There's a great process, you know, of color, and it's going to be red, that deep, beautiful love that kind of comes in. And and with color coaching, I bring in different exercises and different ways for you to really kind of immerse yourself in that color for the week and see and understand. And again, you're activating that little kind of, it's like that little cheat sheet in your subconscious that says, Oh, okay, we're gonna use that color as the as the instigator to process that change. So every time you see that red, yourself is going, oh yes, we're working on that. Let's find an answer. And it reaches out into the universe with all the inform, you know, the koshwork records, if you want to call it that, whatever you want to call it. And it brings that information into the gateway of your subconscious, and then it will bring it out into the conscious and the knowledge and and allow you to understand, oh, okay. It'll bring different things and help you move in a way in that energy that lets you feel it differently and understand it differently. That's what color coaching does, and it does it through the process of a different color, perhaps every week. So you're you're moving into the energy of this one this week, and you come to the realization and the understanding, and then you move into this next one in the next week. And it's a beautiful, gentle, easy way to kind of move through. I won't say that it's not significant because I, when I did it, I cried. I, you know, I had these responses to things that I I didn't even understand at the time. And you know, all of a sudden I'm starting to cry as I'm talking about something, and it's like, oh my goodness, what's that about? You know, and then you're able to kind of go from there and understand and learn. So it's beautiful.
SPEAKER_04:Okay. How would one become a certified color coach?
SPEAKER_02:Well, I did it through an amazing man named Dougal Fraser, who a friend introduced to me, and he is uh like a color intuitive, and he has a journey that he talks about and explains, and he's written a couple of books, and I you're gonna laugh, but my friend told me about him one time she was listening to something, and I had to go find him simply because I loved his name. It was it was like, I don't care what he has to say, I just need to go hear it because I love Fraser. It was like, okay, I'm there. And I connected with him, and he just he's so kind and he's so amazing. And there are different ones out there, but he's the person that I went through. Uh, he has a great, I think it's a six-month program, if I remember right.
SPEAKER_01:Okay.
SPEAKER_02:And and he go through and he works through all of these colors, and they're all kind of he's grouped them in a way that says, here are the colors that are gonna work with relationship. We're gonna work through relationship now with self, with people, with you know, whatever it is that maybe the earth or whatever. Here's the the ones that are gonna work business or career-wise. We're gonna work with these colors, and then you know, the next group. So you go through these, I think it's three different groups, if I remember right. Uh, three or four, pretty sure three. And so you're focusing in these different areas that maybe you do want to be just a business coach. So you might only use these three colors with someone that you're working with that really, but it guides you in how to help other people, the questions that you ask, the exercises, and you go through the experience yourself so that you understand what that experience is that you're giving to someone else. If that makes sense.
SPEAKER_00:Did you catch all that?
unknown:Okay.
SPEAKER_04:So our next question is can your background in neurolinguistic programming help with life coaching?
SPEAKER_02:Yes, absolutely. So NLP is this amazing thing that uh it kind of it's how we see the world and oftentimes the emotions emotions connected to it. So that's where NLP comes in and it will be this immediate kind of quick change with phobias or uh with things like that. Because what it does, it it will go in and it will find the emotion, that connection to the situation. So say you're afraid of spiders, it's gonna go in and and and you're you probably remember like, oh my gosh, this was this horrible experience with a spider. I remember that. And what it does is it kind of unhooks the emotional connection. You still remember the experience, you still remember everything, but you're not, you don't have the fear or the angst or the anxiety around it. It lets you view it more as an observer, and so your perspective on spiders changes. It's like, oh, I don't, I don't have to be afraid. I might not want to hang out and you know, pet them, but I don't have to be afraid of them. And so it really alters our perception of our world. And I often the work that I do, I do a little bit of both, but I believe that the hypnosis that I do integrates NLP in in the sessions that I do so that it does bring that change about in a wonderful, quick way. Uh and and even just NLP on its own, when I do some of the sessions with just NLP, brings about this incredible fun experience that all of a sudden we go, wow, how how did that work? What what was that about? You know, because you're you're instantly allowing the subconscious to kind of step forward and go, oh, okay, what are we doing? Let's let's let's do that real quick. And and it does that change almost instantly. I mean, within a few minutes, you know, you have this change of what's happening because it has changed your perspective going forward. Does that make sense? Check your mic. Check your mic, I can't hear you. You can't hear me. It shows everything's fine on my end. It's showing everything's fine on my end. You went away a few minutes ago.
SPEAKER_04:Sorry. Let me try to jump out again. Yeah. Okay. Can you hear me? Yeah, I can't hear you at all. I I can hear my speaker, but yeah.
SPEAKER_00:Are you there?
SPEAKER_04:I'm here. Okay, I can hear you now. All right. All right. So it was um, how can your background in neuro uh linguistic programming help with coaching?
SPEAKER_02:Neurolinguistic programming is this amazing thing that changes perspective. It changes perspective on the world and the emotions that we connect to them. So that's where a lot of people use NLP for phobias, for for kind of that quick fix on things, on shifting something really quickly. I love using it for for those things, but um, but I also think that NLP is is integrated into hypnosis in a wonderful way. But there might be an instance where let's say you're afraid of spiders and and you have that, oh my goodness, yes, I had this horrible situation with a spider. And and that's instant fear, angst, anxiety, all these things. What NLP does is it goes in and it kind of unhooks the emotional connection to that experience. So then you look back and go, oh, oh yeah, I did see that spider. But there's no fear, there's no angst, there's no anything. You might not go, you know, make friends with the spider, but you're not gonna have that instant scream or that instant fear that comes in. Flying, heights, things like that, all that. That's a great place for NLP to step in and do that. It also kind of brings together when there's conflict, you know. We often say, yes, I want to lose weight, but I want to eat cake too, you know, and so it kind of brings those two parts of us together that says, excuse me, let's find a a better way. Let's find a new path where nobody, neither side is going to object to this new path. And that allows that to go forward in a way. And that's NLP. It kind of uses anchoring like like the color to allow the subconscious to do a lot of work in an extreme extremely short period of time. So it it's like this little shortcut that goes in and says, Oh, we're gonna go right here, right now, we're gonna do this, boom. And people are amazed at that they come out of these, you know, little moments after doing some NLP work and they're like, Oh, oh, I can think of that horrible moment without feeling crappy, without feeling uh upset. I can I can think about that and I'm I'm okay. Beautiful, beautiful.
SPEAKER_04:Thank you for sharing that. Well, that is our last question. And as we've been talking, is there something you may have forgotten to share or something you want to share with the listeners? The floor is yours.
SPEAKER_02:No, I don't think so. I said most of it. You know, one of my most important ones is the part about just remembering that you can be okay, that you're never too broken to heal. And know that uh there are people there. And don't and don't worry if you don't connect with the first person that you reach out to, that's okay. Keep looking because you are going to connect. Because if you have a willingness inside of you, then the universe is going to respond to that. They're going to bring you know the information and the people to you that are gonna help do. And and I truly believe that. If you so many people are saying I'm just waiting for a sign, I'm waiting for that, you know, next thing, I'm waiting for well, you need to kind of get up and move because yeah, while you're sitting on the couch waiting, the universe is sitting next to you waiting as well. And until you get up to anything, the universe is gonna sit there and wait for you. As soon as you make a move, it's in motion and it's gonna go, okay, I've got you. I'm gonna bring more and more and more. And the more awareness that you have, the more you notice, the more awareness that you're open to, the more you'll be brought. Awareness changes everything.
SPEAKER_04:Right. It makes me think of um, you know, Fred Rogers had said his mother always told him to look for the helpers. And look is an action. It wasn't to wait for the helpers, it was to look for them. So, and that involves, you know, looking, going around, researching, things like that. So um, yeah, they're out there. And if you continue to walk along the path and continue on the journey, they'll show up at the most unique times or the perfect time. And even if you're getting frustrated, where's the helpers? They'll show up. Be patient. So, well, thank you, Laura, so thank you so much for joining me and taking time out of your busy schedule uh to take this Ready Set Ricky journey with me. Well, thank you so much for having me. I enjoyed the conversation immensely. Wonderful, wonderful. All right, thank you, my uh wonderful listeners.
