Ready for the Rapture…But Not the Gym
Pastor-D gets dressed for the gym. Whether he actually makes it there is another matter. But that raises a surprisingly good question: Are we doing the spiritual equivalent—looking ready for Jesus without actually living ready?
This week on Thinking Out Loud with Pastor-D, Joe and Pastor-D go from questionable ’80s expressions and 12:30 a.m. pizza-and-Bible-study sessions to a much bigger question: If Jesus returned today, what would we wish we’d taken care of yesterday?
Jesus told His followers to stay dressed, ready, and keep their lamps burning. But what does that look like on an ordinary Monday? Can we be ready without being afraid? And why do we keep trying to hide things from God—as though the Creator of the universe hasn’t checked that particular drawer?
We also explore the surprising picture of a Master who serves His servants, how to recognize God’s calling when your next step isn’t clear, and whether being comfortable has made us spiritually sleepy. When the world feels increasingly hostile to our faith, how do we stand firm without treating people of other religions as enemies?
And finally: What do you think Jesus will say to us first when He returns?
Come for the laughs. Stay for the questions that might follow you home. No gym membership required.
