Hello and welcome to the Cybex Hot Mom Walk podcast. Cybex started this series as a recent study found that 80 % of women at three months postpartum say they feel more alone than ever. Designed to help mitigate feeling isolated, the Cybex Hot Mom Walk podcast series aims to help moms across North America cope with the feeling of isolation and the huge identity shift that comes with

Welcome to the last episode of season two of the Cybex Hot Mom Walk podcast. The finale. Can you believe we're in the last episode? No, I can't. And I'm feeling really emotional about it. It's kind of sad, but it's been so much fun. It honestly feels like just yesterday that we started this whole process, that we had the mama mentor search, that we were going through applications and voting. And here we are. watching those entries roll in. Yeah. Yeah. We were there from day one

Now here we are in the last episode. For this season of the podcast, we hosted something really special called the Cybex Mama Mentor Search. And the goal was to take the Cybex Hot Mom Walk further across Canada. And we held this contest where moms could submit video entries explaining why they wanted to be a mama mentor. And we got amazing submissions. And a part of the winnings was getting to host their own podcast.

leading a Cybex Hot Mom Walk, and then one special mama got a chance to win a trip for her family. Yes, and today Chloe and I are joined by the top three winners of the contest, and we're going to be having conversations with them about what this experience was like, how they felt recording their first podcasts, how they enjoyed hosting their walks in their communities, and we're also going to be hearing from the grand prize winner.

and she's going to be sharing with us where her and her family are going on the trip that they won. So shall we introduce? Yeah, absolutely. So we are here with Ashley Roberts. Hi ladies. Good to see you again. And we are here with Teresa Hudson. Hi. It's nice to see everybody for the first time. And we are here with our grand prize winner, Jenna Christie. Hi, Jenna. Hey, stoked to be here. We're stoked to have you here. We are so thrilled to have you, mamas here. And I want to talk about this whole experience from

you know, submitting your videos to getting selected as our top three winners, hosting your own podcasts and leading your own Cybex Hot Mom Walk. I'd love to hear about the experience from each of you, but let's start off with Teresa. How was this experience for you? It was interesting. I clearly have zero experience in podcasting. And yeah, the first episode I actually just recorded by myself. You killed it. thanks. I didn't know scripts. I was just like...

I got to sit in my bedroom and chat. And then I just told my story and that was cool. And then I got to interview a couple of friends, Allie and Sam, who are amazing moms that live in the city. I loved that story. yeah. They're the best. Honestly, if you don't follow them, they're so fun. They're sweet and kind and just the best moms going. And then I interviewed a pelvic floor physiotherapist, which isn't out yet while we're recording this, but it'll be out when people are listening to us. And I think that's great for every single woman.

whether you've had a child or not. So yeah, she's got some really great tips and tricks that she will, she'll fill all you on in on. But yeah, it was good. It was just like having conversations with a microphone. We had some wine. It was great. I think pelvic floor tips and tricks are, I'm waiting for that one. I actually brought in my pelvic floor physio to my last Cybex Hot Mom walk. And like when we met up at the park, she did like a one -on -one of like pelvic floor health. And I

I wasn't surprised, but like a lot of women and moms don't know anything about pelvic floor health. And I get it, like I didn't either. So I think I can't wait to hear that podcast. Like don't push when you pee. Yeah. That's the biggest one I took away from it. Don't rush your pee. Don't rush your pee. Don't rush your pee. Like, did you know, okay, this is like going off topic now, but like, did you know that once you've given birth, if you've had

tearing that you should do like massages on your scar on the inside. Did you guys know that? No, I did not. had an episiotomy. So yay. I had to go see my pelvic floor physio a lot. I'm sure you did. man. Jenna, you had some really awesome podcast themes. You talked about being like, you're not just a mom. You talked about

the feeding journey. So what was the experience like for you doing your podcast? It was interesting. I really enjoyed it, but there was a definitely a learning curve. I feel like I create a lot of content online, but the type of content I create, I can like redo the same line over and over again until I like it. Podcasting is like you got to commit and you got to say what you want to say. And I thought it was funny to like two episodes I was by myself and I would like sit down here and film and I'd be like, OK, like how much do we have? I'm

two minutes, like I have so much time to fill, feel like. But it was so much fun. And then I had my last episode with the founder of Moms Niagara, which is a really good episode too, that's about finding your village. But overall, I loved it. I can talk forever. I thought it was, had a great time. Can I tell you how much I loved when you did the episode of Mom Goals and you said chasing your dreams while you're chasing kids? Like I wrote it down, I was like, yes.

So good. I love that. thank you. You're welcome. Thank you so much. And last but not least, Ashley. I love that you brought in the guest every time and your husband. I remember when we first met you on a previous podcast episode, you said that you were going to talk about things that you and your husband fought about. So I was just like, well, so you're waiting to hear what the fights were.

But that podcast episode was so great. Like I learned so much about you and it was nice hearing like your husband's perspective. He's such a team player. Yeah. Having him tell the birth story. Like, I just love that you did that. It was really cute. And then like your mom, her advice to other grandmas, like being like, just don't say anything. I that was how my God. I should introduce her to my mother. Sorry, mom.

Yeah, was, you know, truthfully I was really intimidated at first, like how am going to record a podcast? You know, it was the best place for sound in my house was on our closet floor and we don't have a big closet. So like I invited people into the closet and we chatted and we did the same thing. We had like, you know, a glass of wine here and there. And, you know, the chat with Hayden was actually like a really nice reflection of the journey we have been on and like the last six months with a child, which I don't think you get to do.

a lot, like I wouldn't just sit down with him and like, let's just talk about the last six months. So that was a really nice journey to reflect on. And then my mom and I are very, very close. So that was just an easy chat. We were like laughing our heads off at each other. So it was really fun. And then my third episode is with some mom friends who I also invited to my closet floor. And it's a two part episode, one with Raksha, who is a Cybex mama mentor. I think she was the early bird prize winner.

And a top 10 finalist. And a top 10 finalist. so she, I met her for the first time and invited her over to my house and was like, do you want to hang out in my closet with me? And she was like, I'm down. love that. Yeah, so fun. And then another one of my mom friends, Jill, who's known me since Ivy was like four weeks old. So it's just been like a really nice journey and a nice reflection point. Way more fun than I thought it was going to be. That's awesome. I love that. Were there any like unexpected moments that either of you had during the podcast, whether it's like with a guest or by yourself, anything that just

memorable that stands out. think like a big thing for me with Hayden is we were like learning things about each other and I was like we went through this together. Like how did we not know this? How did I not know that he thought doulas were for dads? How did he not, you know, how did he not know that I was terrified throughout the entire pregnancy with Ivy? And so that was like really interesting to know that like, you know, as much as we were together all the time, we're not sharing all the things. So that was like kind of fun.

I found it very cathartic to tell my story, like just in one sitting. Yeah. And just go through how my journey to become a mom was. I felt that too. Like that came through. Yeah. And like I talk about it all the time because I'm a huge advocate for infertility loss and the IVF community. So I do talk about it, but I've never told it like beginning to end in one complete sitting. And it was, it was, it felt really good to just get it out there and yeah, chat about it. And it's also so important. You

You share so vulnerably and so honestly, and that's going to make such a huge difference for other women experiencing very similar things that you did. Yeah, because it's super sex. Yeah, of course. But if you hear somebody else, it sometimes makes you feel a little less alone. Absolutely. Yeah. What about you, Jenna? I know how honest.

I could be here, but you can be as honest as you want. The one I did very honest, very honest. The episode with Mom's Niagara actually cut out halfway and I didn't really know her. I only invited her over. We just met. Obviously we're friends now after the podcast. So I had to have her back over and re -film the last part of the episode. I don't know if you'll be able to tell when you listen to it, but that was one kind of interesting memorable moment when I'm like, can you come back? I don't want to do the, you know what mean? I really want this episode to go live. So we made sure we made it happen.

I don't know if you'll actually be able to tell. Technology, right? Yeah. You got it done because you're a mom and that's what moms do. Right. She brought her, she had the second time she had to bring her daughter. We had her like on the couch. like, so I don't know you can also tell there's a three year old in the room, but you probably can't. And then the formula one was really, really cool to see how many moms, you know, in my circle reached out to be like either like I had no idea.

this you had such a hard time with like accepting all of this or you know, this is exactly what I needed. I had the same thing and like I didn't know that they, you know, had the same experience I did. I had a pregnant friend be like, call, she called me and was like, I haven't talked to her in forever. And she called me and she was like, thanks so much for this episode. Like I had no idea. I'm sorry. I couldn't support you through that. And I just told you, know, I'm glad you were able to listen to that now and like kind of prep before you have the baby and know that there are other options out there and they're all great options.

That was a great episode. sent that my cousin just had a baby and she wasn't able to breastfeed and was very hard on herself about it. And then that episode came out like at the perfect time. I was like, you need to listen to this. Like it was, yeah, it was really good. Would you guys say that the reaction from like your friends and family, the community has just been like amazing with all this? Definitely. I just feel like you guys are famous. Yes. So famous. my God. Halle famous. No, not at all.

But yeah, it was cool to just have people listen to like my story and Allie and Sam story and just like people who didn't know like what happened or how it went through, like even family members, like, you know, like the fringe family members, like aunts and uncles and stuff like that. And then be like, my gosh, wow, that's a lot. And I'm glad you made it where you are. was was cool. It was lightning. And Ashley texted me and was like, I listened to your podcast in the grocery store. And I started crying in the in the aisle. And I was like,

I'm so sorry. felt so bad. I just like my heart was breaking for you. But it was nice that it touched people. Yeah, it was really a beautiful story. I think what was interesting too, I had when I the episode with my mom, I had a lot of mom friends who judged me and be like, same, my mom is the same. She like hates that we swaddled the baby. She uses the same terms. And it's just so funny because I'm like, what's that going to be like in 40 years when Ivy's having kids and, you know, I'm now the grandparent. So I think it was really funny

a lot of people were like, my mom does the same things. It's the same way. my gosh, what is your mom called the swaddle again? Straight jacket. Straight jacket, straight jacket. I was laughing so hard. I think that every mother thinks that their grandchildren's feet are cold. my gosh, like get off it woman. Like, why doesn't he have socks on? I don't know, because it's July and it's like 36 degrees. Yeah. my gosh. Zip it, Donna.

We did the like solids from six months on. So we'd be giving him like a hunk of steak and he'd be gnawing on it. And my mom was like mortified. She's like, why didn't you puree it? Why can't we feed him? And like he feeds himself. And she's like, no, my gosh. And she's like, well, when he's at grandma's house, we do it this way. I'm like, okay, that's fine. You can do it that way. Teresa, let me tell you a little something. My son is four and a half.

And my parents still question the size of the food on his plate. So I hate to break it to you. He be eating purees until he's 15. In the presence of grandparents. Okay, so on top of also getting to record your podcasts, you each got to host your own walks in your community. So I want to know all about how these went. Actually, why don't we start with you? How was it? How did it feel? Yeah, it was great. So I hosted

the walk in Etobicoke and partnered with Christine from Gym and Juice, which is a family -friendly gym. And they're really focused on building community. can bring your babies to any of the classes. And it was a real hot, Cybex hot mom walk. It was about like 35 degrees. I actually remember the day you did your walk thinking, my gosh. It was like one of the hottest days and like the first hot day. So like no one knew what to do. So we had like fans and cooling cloths for the babies. And we actually shortened the walk a little bit.

But honestly, the best part about it was we went back to Jim and Juice and Christine and the team at Jim and Juice had set up this like beautiful balloon arch and like all this food and we just hung out with the babies in a circle and like hung out with moms for like an hour and a half and chatted. So the walk was wonderful, it was great to get outside, but it was also really nice to just like chat and hang out as a group of moms and babies and it was really, really fun. my nose just got all tingly when you were saying that. I get emotional every time I hear about moms doing the...

the circle time and the time together to share every time. That was great. that's so lovely. Jenna, what about you? Yeah, so I had my Cybex Hot Mom walk at Heartland Forest in Niagara Falls. it was beyond what I could have imagined. think I was mainly shocked about the turnout of people I just, I didn't know in real life. they, know what I mean? Whether I met them on social media and get to meet them in real, like in person was really cool.

I chose Heartland Forest because there is a brewery across the street. So after the walk, and actually the day I found out like three days before my walk that I called Heartland Forest to see if I could reserve a pavilion. And they're like, are you with the mama market? And I was like, no, I'm with the Cybex hot mom walk. And apparently there was a mom market going on the same day. after the

There was like a market. looks like I went above and beyond for these months. my goodness. my gosh. did not set up the market. your secret. Don't take the credit. Yes you did. Yes you did set up that market. People were asking me. was like, no, this is separate, but like more than welcome to shop. And we kind of promoted each other. she's just too modest. So yeah, after the walk, the moms were able to shop a little bit and then we

across the street at the brewery for some lunch and they had a big field the kids were playing in. Our photographer was there and she was fabulous and got photos of all the moms. I loved it. It was so much fun. that sounds like Is that something that you added to it, the photographer? Because I saw that on your social.

Yeah, that was like something I really wanted to make sure we had there. feel like moms are always taking pictures of their babies and never get pictures with their babies. we made sure each mom got like a little mini session and Carly and photography did an incredible job with these photos and each mom got to like got a couple to choose from. It was just so great. that's so beautiful. I love that. Thank you. Please just send a photographer to follow me and my children around at all times. Honestly, so good. And what about you, Teresa?

I copied Jenna and got a photographer as well because I was like, that's a fabulous That's a good idea, yeah. I called her the proof of mum photographer. And then our walk was, it was great. The weather was terrible. It was raining and unfortunately I couldn't reschedule because I'm here in Ontario now. But last minute I was able to swing a little room at the park that we were meeting at in Dartmouth.

and it was beautiful, brand new building they just built to overlook the lake and extremely last minute I was like, I should bring those floor things for the babies, know, like the puzzle pieces. At like 7 a I was like, chuck them in the car. We had no space and thank God I did, because that's where everyone hung out. All the babies were on the mats. The moms were in a circle around eating snacks, chatting and a couple of moms, lot of people I had like Jenna, had never met nor knew and it was pretty cool that they came and some of the moms I had were in

my tribe that supported me through my four years of infertility that I had never met in person, but had talked to online. So that was pretty special. So this is what facilitated you getting to meet up with all of these people that you made relationships with online. Yes, and we got to meet, our babies got to meet. It was awesome. Cybex making dreams come true. Yeah, and then our little Cybex hot mum walk, just like Ashley, we made it a tiny bit shorter due to the weather, but it was still lovely. We walked around the lake and...

It was great. Yeah, it's so amazing. think the walk is like so important, but I noticed like when I host my own Cybex Hot Mom Walk that it's like the catch up, the chatting. Yeah. We always like stop at a park and like we say we're going to stop there for 20 minutes to catch up and like just chat about life or whatever. But nobody ever wants to leave. Do you know what mean? Like everybody wants to stay and talk for hours. And a lot of the times what we end up doing is we walk back to the mall, mine's in a mall, and then we go to the food court.

We got a coffee and we sit there for another hour. It's just having other moms around that you can just like commiserate with and celebrate with. It's such, it's so important. And I didn't realize that before I became a mom, but it's, it's amazing. And I'm so happy that you guys got to experience what that feels like to host it. And hopefully, you know, there's opportunities to, you know, do it again sometime for sure. I even had one mom say that she had met another mom who had the same

same age as her and they exchanged phone numbers and they're gonna have play dates. And I was like, that's so awesome. That's adorable. Just complete strangers, but now they can have play dates that live close to each other and they're gonna be at the park and stuff like that. I love that that's what comes of the walks. Like, so Chloe and Ivy each hosted 12 walks at our West Coast kids stores. And we all, have like a group chat.

with all of the moms and like my phone is just constantly blowing up. It's like, does anyone want to go here today? Does anyone want to go? It's like, it's so nice that people are able to create those relationships. Yeah. And have you know, I don't know if your moms are doing this Alex, but like right now we've paused the walks for the summer, but my moms are still all meeting up at the mall. yeah. So in time to get together. I'm like, I love it. I just love it. It's so nice. It makes my, makes me feel fuzzy inside. I love that. I'd love to know if there's ever been like

funny or memorable moment from either the walks or doing the podcast, just this entire experience that stands out for you guys. I have one. So the day before my walk, of course, I decided to think of a project that must be done. So I wanted to have a big Cybex balloon. So I went and got this like giant balloon. I went to the sketchiest store I have ever been to to get it filled with helium. I like it was ended up being so I had this giant balloon. I paid a bunch of money for this balloon and then

cricketed out the Cybex Hot Mom Walk logo and I was going to put it on this balloon and I was getting my husband to hold it and as I was peeling the vinyl off, it popped, smoked them in the lip and like it was just, was so mad because I spent so much time and I was so excited to have this balloon and everybody walked in. So I made a little sign instead. So that's just like kind of a one -off, but I have a better one too. just about the day of the Cybex Hot Mom Walk, there was a woman who had her two -year -old.

and she was carrying her two -year -old and we did through like, was a kind of like a, almost like a paved hike. And she was carrying her two -year -old the whole time. And I was just like, and it was a hot day. It was a really, really hot day. And afterwards I was just like, like, aren't your arms sore? She was like, yeah, whatever. And then we did the draw and she was the one who won the Cybex stroller. So, it's nice. Yeah, so she's really, really excited about that. Yeah, no kidding. After that long of carrying your two -year -old.

Yeah, and it wasn't, we did not shorten our walk. It was pretty long. We were walking along the Queensway and we had people coming out of stores being like, what is happening? What is going on here? And so we were just sharing with them that it was like Cybex Hot Mom Walk and they were like loving it. They were like chatting to the babies, chatting to the moms. That was really fun because it even, you there's a community of moms, but also there's community around moms as well. So it was like really cool to see everyone out and they were all coming on the street like three or four store owners like popped outside like what is happening? They love babies.

They love them strollers and babies. And yeah, there was a dragon boat competition at the lake before us and it was like seniors. So the seniors were just like blown away with all these little babies and very excited. And of course we didn't see people on our walk, but we saw a lot of ducks and my child really wanted to play with the duck poop and pick it up and see if he put it in. He was, he was everywhere. I was like, no. And I'm trying to like host the walk and he's picking up the poop. But one really funny story that happened during the contest.

So my partner, he was voting for me as he should, and he voted every day and I was asking him, like, yeah, know, everybody really likes the video when Clark comes in at the end and he says, mama, and he's on my lap or whatever. And he was like, Clark's in the video. And I'm like, you haven't watched the video? And he was like, well, it's been on, but I didn't really pay attention. I was like, my gosh, like, are you serious? Like all these random strangers are watching my video and voting for me.

And the person I live with, the father of my child, hasn't watched the video. So I thought that was pretty funny. He was like, but I'm still supporting you. I'm like, okay. He just logs in and just presses vote every day. Yes, I was like, my gosh. Such a guy. Alex, do you have one? There was a moment on our walk that I loved. One of the moms on her first time coming, she forgot the bottle for her baby.

And she was beating herself up about it so hard. And it was so beautiful to see every mother there be like, hey, it's okay. Like you have so much going on. There is so much on your mind. And I think her baby was pretty new as well. So it's one of those moments where it's like you feel embarrassed and you're frustrated with yourself. Cause you know, you're trying to remember a thousand things and.

It was actually, you it's not a funny anecdote, but it was just a really beautiful moment to see all of the moms come together and be like, hey, like, it's okay, we've got you. Like, I can, you can have this formula if you need, like we can go to the store and grab a bottle. And everyone just kind of teamed up to, to support her emotionally and also to support the baby and her, her partner ended up coming and bringing a bottle and it was totally fine. But I just felt like it was a special moment. It was kind of, you know, just kind of piggybacking on what I was saying about how moms take care of moms.

It was a beautiful little moment. I think too, bringing everyone together in person, like the Cybex Hot Mom Walks have, it really shows that moms do support moms. I think a lot of the time you go online and you see a lot of like mom shaming or judging, you know, every now and then, but sometimes those voices are louder and it's only one or two. But when you get all these 30 moms together for a walk, they're so supportive of each other. it's much more common to have a mom support you in whatever way you choose to raise your child.

than it is to have the opposite. And I think having the Cybex Hot Mom Walks where everyone comes together physically and meets, I think is huge for moms in the mom community. I agree. All right. So as winners, you guys got the chance to host your own podcast, lead a Cybex Hot Mom Walk. But one of you gets to go on a very special trip as our grand prize winner. And that is you,

Where are you going? Tell us everything about the trip that you've planned. Yeah. So there was a lot of back and forth and trying to decide what we wanted to do. And ultimately, we are going to the Club Med in Charlevoix. It's Canada's only all inclusive resort. I'm drooling. Drooling. We are so excited. Like they do like a winter season and we're going to obviously be going in the summer. leaving in August, but they have like mountain biking and hiking. And I've heard nothing but incredible things. There's actually somebody at my

who's been twice and she's like, my gosh, you're gonna love it. We can't wait to go back. So we're over the moon. We're counting down the days so we get to go on this trip. That is so exciting. And they have childcare, so you guys will have a little bit of like, like a loan adult vacation time, but then also family vacation time, which is so nice. That's what sold me. We were kind of like, you know, when we were going back and forth, when we found out about the Baby Club Med, they're like, did you want us to take that off? I was like, no, like keep that on. Cause I think that, that's a hard thing about traveling

such young kids, like if you can't have somebody else come with you, like, so we're really happy to kind of, know, and she'll have a great time. She loves playing with other children. So we're really excited about that. Do they have like when you get there, like, is it like completely set up? Do you have everything that you would need like for children? Yeah, they have like a little room of like with little like snack coaches for the kids and like formula machines and bottle warmers and cribs. It's it's it's insane. Like you don't even have to pack your own

but I'm sure you will, LaCoyne. I don't have to, but I absolutely will be packing my brand new Cybex stroller. Of course. Yeah, they do have those, but yeah, we'll bring her on. Gosh, those of you listening, you can't see, but my jaw is just like... That just sounds like the dream. Especially if you're traveling, like imagine you were traveling with like a family of four, like four children. What a dream that would be as the parents. So much less to bring with you. You're to have to report back and tell us everything.

Yes, when are you going? I'm leaving August 10th, so I'm sure I'll be sharing lots of it on social media and so you can kind of get a little insight of the trip there. I'm going to your account right now to follow all stories so that I don't miss a moment. We're going for a week. A week? my goodness. Now my mouth is on the floor. Right.

That's amazing. deserve it. I want to go skiing there this winter. I just looked it up when you said it and I googled it and I'm like, this looks amazing. And if you ski, like your rentals are included, your Lyft tickets are included, like going in the winter would be like a whole other experience, which I'm sure now I'm going to have to do after experience this summer. Absolutely. And then you can leave your kid at the daycare and go skiing, which is like always the problem. Only one of us can go at a time. I didn't even think of that. That's amazing. Are you guys going to go into Quebec City and explore a little

We fly into Quebec City, so I'm sure we'll do a little bit of exploring there. Fab. have the best time. Thank you. Yeah. Also, your Cybex Koya fits in the overhead compartment because I'm in Ontario and I just brought it with me and it fits right above your seat. So it was perfect. It didn't we didn't have to wait for gate check. We didn't have to like come out of the airplane and wait in the thing for them to go grab our stuff that they just chucked underneath. OK, that's a super hot tip because you also would have flown on

pretty small airplane if you were coming from Halifax to Ontario. So if it fits on a smaller airplane, like that puppy fits on any plane. Actually, the flight attendants were like, my gosh, that's amazing. When I folded it, they were like, the technology. was like, I know. And then I just chucked it up top and they were, yeah. that's unbelievable. it's perfect for traveling. I'm not even joking. Like folding up my Koya, my Cybix Koya is like my party trick. I'm just like, watch me, like one hand.

It's a purse now in my car. And then opening it up like to like turn it into a stroller. like, I feel like a magician with like a baby on your hip. You're like, look what I can do. And when it's folded as a backpack, you still have access to your zipper pocket. Yeah. Genius. It's so good. These Cybex engineers. It's also really good on cobblestone and like all terrain.

Like that. It's so smooth. Yes, because you took yours to the UK. Yeah, we were in London, like on cobblestone with it, and it was amazing. I was like, this thing is incredible. Yeah. Everyone needs one, I tell you. How was that trip? It was great. I think Jenna said in last episode, it looks a little different traveling with kids. It looked a little different, but it was really fun, and she was a champ. She's a great traveler. She loved her stroller. She was in her stroller all day, all the time, and

just toured London and did all the things. It was great. My koya goes everywhere I go. And I love it because I just leave it in my trunk. Yes, it's the car stroller. Yes, it's the car stroller. Right now, takes up no space. Right now, when I've got both kids, I have to use the gazelle because my son is at that hole, doesn't fit in the stroller phase, but gets tired really quickly. So the sibling board is so clutch. But when it's just Luna and I, I'm just like tooting around in the koya. I leave it in the car. I don't have to worry about

I'm with her and I need to go grab groceries. And then it's like, I don't have my stroller with me. I always have my stroller with me. yeah, it's the best. Everyone needs a Cybix Koya. And when they get to the toddler stage and they think they can walk the whole way, but you don't want to like have to hold the hand and push a stroller. You can just like backpack it and hold the hand. And then when they get tired, you're like, shooching. And then it's a stroller again. I haven't thought of that. And it's the best. So I want to ask you all, how do you feel as a mama mentor?

I was completely shocked and overwhelmed, but like honored at the same time. It was really cool because I put my entry in and then all the teachers in my school started voting every day and they had alarms on their phones to vote for me every day. And my dad and my father -in -law and like all of the people, they're like, we have to vote, we have to vote. And I was like just shooting for top 10, which is still amazing.

And then when I got picked for top three, I was like mind blown. And then all the amazing side back skier. Yeah, it was, it was cool. The podcasts were really cool too. I was very intimidated. Like I think someone said earlier, but once you got rolling and started chatting, it was really neat, really fun just to blab about motherhood. Alex cried while we were listening to it. The guy ugly cried. was so, like just touching and beautiful. But when you're a son, like almost as if on cue, like you paid him to be like, mama.

I like the perfect time. was just so like, I was like, what? What a beautiful moment. It was funny too, because I just recorded it like in one take because I'm just that person. don't, I don't ever edit anything, which I apologize to the editors of the podcast because I really don't ever edit anything ever. And he just, I was like, well now I can't edit it because I was too cute. He just came over like, mama.

wanted to sit with me, so. I mean, listen. He's the best. If the children are in the podcast, that makes it all the more real. Like, that's our lives right now, so. So special. I think upon reflection, like, I was really worried I would lose myself on Mat Leave. And I don't know if you listened to some of the feedback I got from my mom and from my partner of the type of person I am, but I was just like really concerned I'd lose myself on Mat Leave. And I thought this whole experience was a great way to

grow and develop individual, but through the experience of motherhood. So it's like added this other dimension to motherhood for me. And so I really, really enjoyed it. And I think for me, when you share your experience, you can only hope that that helps somebody. You have no idea what someone is going through. You have no idea what they have been through. And so my hope is that through what we've shared and through what we've gone through, someone finds some levity or can laugh or can be like, I've been there with my mom or my partner.

And so, you know, if nothing else comes of it, that's what I hope people get from it. And for me, that was such a joy. What did you find out about yourself in Matleaf? Since you were worried about losing yourself and obviously you haven't. That you are capable of more than you think. I think and you don't have to do it all. You know, and I think on one of my podcasts with I think the one with Hayden, I talked a little bit about like, I had to do all the laundry. And he came home and was like, you have to do no chores. You know, like you can do it all.

Or you like don't have to do it all. And so I think I take that into every day and I'm like, what is this day going to be like? And, you know, we figured out how is she doing? What do I need? And then how do we work that together so that we can both find what we need in life? my God. That just made me all like goosey. Nose tingles. I would say I feel I'm so grateful. This experience has just been incredible. And I think a lot of the content, you know, I create.

was to bring mothers together and just be able to use this as a way to amplify my voice even more. And the connections I've made at my Cybex hat mom walk and just through people listening to the podcast, it's just, it's been beyond what I thought it was going to be. So I'm super grateful. We also have a chat between each other as the winners. And that's kind of nice that we can chat with each other about motherhood and ask questions and kind

You know, we've listened to each other's podcasts and then been like, my gosh, me too. Like I felt that way too. So that's been pretty cool too. Now we have some new friends and everyone's welcome to come to my house for a lobster boil. Anytime you want. my God. Come on down. You can come to Halifax. We'll go down and meet the fishermen and get some lobsters. You should never tease Chloe and I with a good time. Okay. I'm a maritime.

Everyone is welcome. Kitchen parties. We will have beers. We'll have a Kaylee in the kitchen. Well, I was going to say. What's a Kaylee? What's a Kaylee? It's just a kitchen party. It's game. Yeah. Yeah. And I was going to say, when you come to Toronto, like, could we all try and orchestrate a quick lunch maybe? that'd be nice. Do you think that I'm staying in the fun distillery district. gosh. That's a lot of fun. So listen, I'll come meet you. We'll go to Balzac's. We'll get a coffee. We'll go to a brewery, have a beer.

always down for that. All right, we'll be in touch. Cybex Uniting Moms all over Canada. Yeah, Cybex Uniting Moms. And it's nice because now we have a connection to each other. And yeah, we've learned a lot from each other, too, I think. Well, I hope anyways. I also just want to say, like, I don't know if I would have taken the time to reflect on the journey that we went to if it wasn't for Cybex and much to like what Jenna said, like, I'm so grateful to Cybex and their whole team for this opportunity. It's just been like such an incredible

time. And as Teresa said, we have our Cybex hot mom chat in on Instagram forever. it's interesting because I think Chloe and I have talked about this on previous podcasts, but I also feel like this opportunity has been really healing for both of us because we didn't get to do any of this stuff with our firsts. And I still like we talk about it. We still mourn that. But this for me was so special to like weekly.

be able to go on walks with other moms and then come in here and chat with you guys about your experience as new moms. Like it's been, it's been really special. So I'm grateful to have been able to meet all of you guys through this. It's been an amazing opportunity. I've met just meeting so many moms in the, community that I live in. And it's, we've already talked about like, my gosh, like what are we going to do when, you know, we go back to some of people have already gone back to work and we've just had

a cupcake for them because it's been their last walk and they're not going to be there anymore. But it's it's truly friendships that I believe are going to just surpass this time and like be friends for a long time. I'm grateful for this. You know, when you hear like you hear people talking about how like their moms met in Lamaze class and now they're besties, it's to be like 20 years from now. like our moms met doing like the Cybex Hot Mom walks and now we're still friends. think it's so true.

It is so true. I love that. But you know what I just honestly I just love about motherhood is that people's experiences are so different yet so similar. Yeah. You know, and I love like talking to a mom for the first time like, how was your birth and just hearing birth stories. birth story. I love a birth story. I love hearing about like sleep training, all the stuff. And I just think it's like the best common denominator is being a mom.

It's like, you're a mom? Sweet, let's chat. And moms take care of moms. You know? Like moms take care of moms. Yes. Well, we just want to say congratulations to you guys once again. Like it has been such a pleasure meeting you and following this journey with you guys and just learning about you guys in your podcast and seeing your walks on social media. And even though the contest is over, there's still going to be a lot more Cybex Hot Mom

and Cybex Hot Mom Walk podcast coming up. So definitely stay tuned. Yeah, absolutely. And I just, you know, just to piggyback off what Chloe just said, it's been so nice, like from the beginning of the contest to now getting to know you all and, you know, listening to your podcasts and your stories, your stories were all so touching. And I'm just, yeah, it was a wonderful experience and Jen, I'll be following along on your trip.

That is for sure. And I'll be staying in touch with all of you on social media. In fact, do you guys want to share your social media handles? Great idea. So that all of the listeners can follow along with you guys. Ashley, how can people stay connected to you on social media if they want? So my Instagram is Arobor14. So feel free to follow me there. Amazing. And Jenna? My Instagram is jenamac. And Mac with three A's. It's my maiden name. Or if you search Jenna Christie, I should come up. Cool.

And Teresa? Yeah, and I'm East Coast IVF mom. I used to just be East Coast IVF for years and years and years and I got to add the mom. that's a good story. gosh, I that. Stop making us cry. I know, honestly, everything about it is so touching. Yeah, yeah, it was a long haul.

love the mum at the end of my username on Instagram, so feel free to follow me. I love that. Message me if you are going through the struggle. For sure. No matter what you're going through, I've probably been there and if I haven't, I know someone who has, so yeah. That's so beautiful. Chloe, my sweaty friend, what is your Instagram handle? The sweat movement. I am your sweaty mom friend. And mine is completely... That's kind of gross. I love it though. Your sweat... No. You're my sweaty mom friend. to that.
