It's just something so different about when you had that first baby and you breastfeeding, even though it's you you pumping now, but it's still it don't matter, just knowing that you nourishing their entire life, like, and that bond is just so different. You ain't gonna want to be away from your baby.
SPEAKER_05No, and then and then it's like I am trying to exclusively pump, but like he's been cluster feeding these past two days. So I've been doing both, I've been breastfeeding and pumping because he just promoted he's not giving you because breastfeeding, breastfeeding is gonna help.
SPEAKER_02I mean, breast breath pumping is gonna help, but him actually latching on and and and pulling from you, it tells your body exactly how much milk to really start making. And and it it's just it's just so different. And if he's sick, you know what the the the saliva in his glands, it it once it gets into your nipple and your body absorb it, it's gonna start making everything he needs for him to stop being sick. Like, it's such a beautiful thing, breastfeeding, man. It is it's it's so crucial. And I I really wish and pray that every mom who has a child give it a chance. Just give it a chance because even if you only do it for a month or two months, that that initial breastfeeding that you're doing, that colostrum that they get, that coats their stomach for the entire their entire life. You know, like it's it's so essential. It's so if they sick, it'll help them recover so much faster than having to give them any meds, especially if you want to go the holistic route. It's just such a beautiful thing.
SPEAKER_05And Mark be trying to mom guilt me, y'all. He be telling me that, oh, why are you not breastfeeding? Why are you just pumping? That's not even what you're supposed to do. The baby's supposed to bond with you. That's not even real breast milk that you're doing. What?
SPEAKER_02Like, well, you could you could definitely do both, and that's what I was gonna tell you. If you were trying to ask you if you have problems with latching, because the way Janet would call you every day to make sure you latching that damn baby, like she is she's she was uh a breastfeeding counselor, she breastfed all four of our kids, she's still breastfeeding Jasmine. She fed she bestfed uh Avi for two years. Wow, uh yeah, Avi would not get off. Like, Avi wouldn't get off. Aaliyah was was like 13 months, Jalen was 15 months until she was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. Avi was um until two, and then Jasmine, she's one and a half now, and she's still breastfeeding. Um, I think I think for every woman, you should probably try doing it for like the first like because I I want to do it at least until I go back to work. Because I don't want to be trying to worry about pumping at work and all of that. And I'm going back to work once he's that's July, that's whatever. He's gonna be about almost five months when I go back to work. So that's how long I want to try to do it. Or even work. I might even still pump at work because at my job, I could just go into the nurse's office. I got a cooler in there, I can pump, you know what I'm saying? Legally, they can't tell you you can't, so you can pump every two hours, and you could make it work if you want to, but um, yeah, I definitely wanna I definitely want to keep doing it. To the moms that don't, there's no shame because Mark is shaming you, and I and I and I know it's Mark is shaming you to the moms that don't, there's no shame.

SPEAKER_02The problem is they can't stop smoking and drinking. That's what it is, that's why they're not doing it. Well, and that's now that's bad because I don't know nothing about that. Because uh uh a mom gonna sacrifice, she don't care. She's gonna stop.
SPEAKER_05But this is the thing, this is the thing, also. People used to think that well, I I don't I don't know about smoking. I can't like smoking is different because that literally stays in your system. Um, and it goes back. Yeah, a lot of people pump and dump, but but pumping this is the thing about alcohol, right? So people always thought, you know, you can't breastfeed because the alcohol, when you drink, right, the drinking becomes only a percentage of your blood alcohol. That's why you have a blood alcohol level, right? Blood alcohol content. It's so minimum. And then let's say you have one drink, that one drink is out of your system in one hour. So, and then even if that is a small, tiny percentage. So you don't technically have to pump and dump. Like you can literally breastfeed your baby and he'll be fine.

SPEAKER_02Yes, no, that's the best, bro. Whenever Jasmine would start, would start like looking like she was gonna get like a little diaper rash or something, uh-huh. And it would just put a bath, take one of her frozen milks out and put it in the bath water, gone. Yeah, skin blemishes, gone.
SPEAKER_05I did not know that. My baby has like skin blemishes on his face really bad. I think it's because the detergent I used on my bed sheets, and you know, he's just on my bed, he started breaking out.
SPEAKER_02No, no, put everything that you have in in the the newborn um stuff. You your your sheets, your pillowcases, wash all your shit and all his stuff in the newborn stuff. Trust me, that's what we do. We had nothing but drift everywhere, and then we got some other natural shit. But do we wash our pillowcases, we wash our bed sheets and all that because yes, I have sensitive skin. So most of my kids have sensitive skin. You know, so yeah, and if the face blemishes, if you freeze some of your breast milk, take it out like a little piece, and then rub it on him. You rub it on his cheeks, rub it on wherever it's at. It works.
SPEAKER_05Okay, because I was just gonna I got a bottle now in the refrigerator that I was gonna put in his bath tonight, yeah, and rub him down with that because I don't like that. But and that's the thing. If you're gonna freeze it, if you're one of those people that are afraid, oh I had a drink or something, don't don't waste that milk, pump it out and use it for a bath. So, like he said, freeze it, put it on your face. Like it's very good to use, like it's it's excellent, it's excellent.

And then um my my um because my hospital, I had a um uh a last consultant, and she was like, No, you first of all, women who already have children are gonna produce more milk naturally anyway, yeah, and faster, and faster, and then you're only a week postpartum. So you producing a ounce or two when you're pumping is it's great. Like that's not bad. Stop looking at this.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, and there's so many ways you can increase your milk, bro. I promise you, you hit Janet up, she gave you a whole recipe. She had you eating cookies and and drinking this and all that, and coconut water, uh, mother's milk tea, and all this other good stuff. It's really good for you.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, I'm gonna, I got so what I had did was I ordered this, I ordered um brewer's yeast, which is supposed to milk a mix, you know, it that's what they make the the lactation cookies with, the brewer's yeast. I ordered it, and of course that's the one thing that the shopper said it was out of stock of. I'm like, you just didn't feel like looking for a yeah bitch. And then I'm your bitch, you know, it's it's someone was like in the the mom group I'm in, they're like, yo, brewer's yeast is naturally in a beer. So drink, I drank a beer and I had mad but I'm like, no, I'm gonna try something else, but yeah, it's not things that you can that you can try out or whatever. Um, that like Ali said, I might have to hit up Janet because I my milk is more now that I like I'm latching more again, I'm getting more milk. So it really is about latching. Like you have to latch a couple times a day.
SPEAKER_02So your body, your body will know automatically the way the baby is latching onto you, how much milk for your your breast to produce. Other than that, when you pump it, it's artificial. You know what I'm saying? It's not the same as the baby actually. It's something about the them sucking in their saliva, like it's something about that that that that um connection that just your body's like, okay, boom, my baby needs this. It's beautiful, man. It's amazing when you think about it. Like, for real, it has to be divine. Like, it's just no, it's it's no way the way a baby starts as something so microscopic, turns into this little tiny human, grows and develops, and the mom has everything that that baby needs to sustain itself until it's old enough to actually eat something else. Like, yeah, that's very beautiful.

Like she really would like when people will be going through it, they tired, they can't get no sleep, baby cluster feeding. She's one of those people you could call and she helped you, you know, talk you through it. Calm down, bro. It's a lot of stress on new moms. Like a lot of people don't know the like a really colicky baby cluster feeding, not sleeping, just gassy and and just angry, just crying, baby waking up every hour. You ain't sleeping two days, you ain't get to wash your ass. Like, bro, it's it's it's tough if you by yourself, it's tough if you don't got no no help. It's tough if you're not, you know what I'm saying? Like it it get there. That mental battle, especially you still going through changes with your body, and then all the extra hormones and shit left over, and you're not pregnant no more, but you still look and feel like looking pregnant, and your body slowly changed, like that shit is a lot, bro. And then you don't want to do it no more. You get tired of it, and you like, damn, you know, I gotta keep sacrificing my body. This baby just keeps sucking me dry, and you that shit draining, you know what I'm saying? Like, if you're not, if you're not hydrating, you're not taking care of yourself, that shit is draining. That baby is literally drinking life out of you, you know what I'm saying? Like, so I I commend every every woman who breastfeeds, who pumps, who who does whatever, going that extra mile and and putting themselves through that because that's a lot on the on the mind. So re reach out to somebody, talk to somebody, you're having struggles, latching. It's so many people in so many ways. Google it, YouTube it, do whatever. Reach out to somebody you know who got a billion kids, do something. But it's I I am pro-breastfeeding all the way.
SPEAKER_05That's a fact. The second week, I definitely started feeling like, okay, maybe I'm experiencing postpartum depression. But somebody told me that it's not postpartum. I was experiencing something called baby blues. You know, it's just my body adjusting to this new normal, and you know, just getting used to everything.
SPEAKER_02Because I'm like, yo, you don't feel those sludges no more, you don't got that baby kicking inside you no more. You still got a little bump. You can't do shit. The baby needs you constantly.
SPEAKER_05They need you, especially at nighttime. I'm like, yo, I can't even because it's like y'all, y'all know I'm always used to going to sleep at a certain time, getting my rest. So I'm like, yo, I'm up all night. He hung out.
SPEAKER_08All over.
SPEAKER_05Yo, it was so crazy. And I'm like, yo, what is going on? And then I feel like during the day, I just don't have time to do anything because I'm literally attached to the wall, pumping like every two hours, and then I'm doing it for like 40 minutes. So it's like literally, I'm doing it. I feel like I'm doing it every hour. Like, I don't have a break. But excuse me, now when you get like um, you get a hang of it and you get a rhythm going, you get a schedule going, like it becomes part of you, so it's not it's not overwhelming. And then just like Ali was saying, all the benefits, and you see all the things that it does. Like, I started to see the things like he said, like your body will signal something. If the baby is sick, it'll send something. I was speaking to somebody else I know, my cousin's cousin. Um, she hit me up. This was just yesterday, matter of fact. She hit me up and she was asking me how you know how he's doing because she just had her baby three weeks before I had mine. And she was like, Yeah, my daughter, she's but she was in the shelter. And I was like, Wow, that's you know, that's tough, like to deal with or whatever. And she was like, Yeah, and um, she said that her baby, she said my baby just caught caught a cold, and I feel so guilty and I felt bad or whatever. And I'm like, Are you breastfeeding? She said, No, I'm doing formally. She said, I couldn't do none of that shit. She was like, and then she was like, like, she said, I gave my baby some type of medicine. She said, she said, I didn't even ask the doctors if it was okay, I just gave it to her. Hell no, hell no. She was like, and I'm my baby sleep through the night. She goes down at like nine o'clock and she stays. Like, I'm like, whoa, you're doing things a lot differently.
SPEAKER_02No, bro. Those those the people you gotta you gotta watch out for, man. Listen, I I I'm one of those when my kid was born, I couldn't sleep. I'm I'm waking up going to the crib. I was staying and I'll just be checking on him all night, like making sure he breathed in. Um, she hasn't seen Prince yet, but she says because she when I had him, she had just got back from out the country and she didn't want to be around him. So now she's about to go out the country again. I think she's going to Bermuda for her birthday.

SPEAKER_05Like her birthday is the end of September. So she said for my birthday, she's gonna come see him before she goes out the country again. So um, I'll see her soon for my birthday.
SPEAKER_11But um I hate that. I ain't gonna lie. I hate that when I be talking shit on this podcast, and I feel like the family members I be talking shit about, they listen, and I don't know they listen. I'm like, God damn, I thought I was trying to talk shit in peace. I didn't know you listened.
SPEAKER_05I sent this Mark, I sent the screenshot to the group chat yesterday. What she said, she said, I listened to your I listened to your latest episode. I'm glad you're okay. I think what happened was because I don't think she listens. I think what happened was uh my cousins Angel and Bree listened last uh week when we spoke about the wedding.

SPEAKER_05And a lot of people, like a lot of my family didn't know what I was going through when I I delivered, so I guess that was their first time hearing it, and they probably told her, like, oh, did you know what I mean?

Uh bro, I turned around so fast, I was like, What? He was like, Yeah, man, I was listening to your podcast, man. You guys are so funny and so real. He said, Who's that girl who's had like the she sounds like she has a a young voice? I'm like, Oh, CC? He was like, Yeah, man, she's funny as hell. I'm like, Thank you.

We had a customer, we had a client, we had a client who was sitting, we had a client who was sitting in there, right? For some weird reason, bro, I don't know what happened. Trueist network went down for like almost two hours, bro. When I say the network went down, I mean our app wasn't working, our computers wasn't working in the branch. Um, nobody could sign on. We couldn't do no transactions, like we was down. So, so some some older white dude came in, he asked, and we told him, you know, you could wait it out. We don't know when it's gonna come back up, but unfortunately, it's nothing that we can do right now, and it's not like you can go to another branch because it's not just us, it's all of us in the South Carolina region right now. So, you know, we apologize. So Braden was on lunch. He comes out when Brady walks out. Mind you, Roy's in training. He's not even like he knew what this white guy sees him, and he sees the one white guy working out of all the black people there because everybody else that I work with is black. And he goes, like, look at him, oh thank god, somebody here who could do something. Like, nigga start pouring his life out, complaining and telling him what's going on, like, you know, you know, thank you so much. Like, you know, what where would we be without you? We like, bro, and he can't do shit for you. And I'm just laughing because I'm like, yo, it's crazy because all the black people in here told him the same shit, and he was just mad as hell. But as soon as this white guy walked out here and said it, then old Billy Joe was happy as fuck. I said, Yeah, nah, this shit is funny. And I mess with Braden every day, bro. So, Braden, shout out to you for listening. But you know how I get down. Oh my gosh. Y'all are crazy.
