Speaker 2:Welcome to the Good Neighbor Podcast. Are you in need of a detailing company? Well, one may be closer than you think. Today I have the pleasure of introducing your good neighbor, Giovanni St Ville, with Supreme Detailing Company. Giovanni, how are you doing today?
Speaker 3:How are you doing, Garfield? I'm good, I'm good.
Speaker 2:Thank you for having me Listen we're excited to learn all about you and your business. Tell us about your company.
Speaker 3:Well, I've been in business three, three and a half years and they it's basically we do car detailing, mobile detailing, to be exact, where we come to you and the comfort to your own home or your job and we detail your car so how did you get into this business?
Speaker 3:Well, I was working at Home Depot and I was placing an aisle full of pressure washers. And you would say the story's kind of crazy because you know, I've told it so many times I've been in the aisle full of pressure washers and I came up with an idea where I wanted to start a pressure washing business at first, and that's what I was doing. It was called St Shine Detailing, but I didn't get into the car detailing game yet until I saw a commercial on my TV of car detailing. So that's really why I named it St Shine Detailing, because I knew I wanted to do either one of the two or just one.
Speaker 2:So I just went with car detailing what are some of the myths and misconception of detailing, because I know y'all get really particular. Okay, I'm serious about your craft okay right, right.
Speaker 3:So a lot of people think car detailing or car washes. They're not car washes. Car washes is something you can go inside and scrub your car with a brush or whatever chemicals that they use and not to bash the car wash companies, but they just mess up the cars and that's why they end up finding us as detailers to fix the mistakes of car washes and stuff like that. So the differences are the pricing is way different. With the car detailing it takes a lot longer to clean somebody's car At the body and at the wheels, and a car wash they clean your car like quick and it's just like they didn't even do anything. They just cleaned it, probably used the same rag and, you know, just hit it one time Us. We take our time and we get into the cracks and crevices of the car and we make sure that every detail is spotless so that it's presentable.
Speaker 2:So if you care about the details, you need the detailing company. Right, Right, right, Listen when you're not so busy running your business, Giovanni, what do you like to fund?
Speaker 3:Well, I like to work out, I like to play basketball. Of course I like to read and you know, I just like to be in my word. I'm actually a Christian, I like to be in my word and you know, just, you know, in tune with my spirit and stuff like that. So that's a lot of things, you know. That kind of helped me throughout my day to do everything, all in order with what I just said.
Speaker 2:So you got to get your head right first.
Speaker 3:Right that helps you get your head right.
Speaker 2:Of course, let's change gears a little bit. Life often throws us curveballs. Let's talk about a hardship, one struggle, something that you can look back and today say you're better and stronger because of that. What comes to mind?
Speaker 3:Well, when I was first starting in detailing, there was a few detailers in the game that I knew of and when I was starting it I really didn't, you know, know too many people that were doing it, other than the select few that I knew of, and the struggles of just finding my craft and finding the niche in the game, rather than just trying to find look at different YouTubers and stuff who do it and just try to find my own way, and stuff like that. So, and also, you know, finding clients was another thing that was like hard for me, because, yeah, um, to get clients back in the day was easy for me because all I had to do was lower my price and then that brings them in. But then when you set the price at where you're really valued at, that's when a lot of people tend to step back. So I had to learn the different aspects of the business, you know, try to kind of avoid, you know, those kind of clients and then find the ideal clients for the business. So those were the hardships.
Speaker 3:And also, you know, trying to find the right target audience of people who actually need my services, because we're not, we're not in the game to, you know want to. You know, just do somebody's car and go home. We actually want to do somebody's car, build a relationship with that person and then, you know, have them here with us for the long run. This is not just a one hithitter-quitter type of thing. We actually in this to build relationships and, you know, keep building relationships, so on and so forth. So those were the struggles that I had to go through when first starting out with the business and those are the struggles that you know I had to overcome to get where I am today too.
Speaker 2:Okay, you said a lot there. You had to hone your skills and find that target audience that value your services.
Speaker 3:Right right.
Speaker 2:Okay Now, Giovanni, I want you to leave our listeners today with one thing. We would just bring it down to one single thing they should remember about Supreme Detailing Company. What should they remember?
Speaker 3:Supreme Detailing. It's a supreme thing. If you guys want your cars detailed professionally, want your cars detailed precisely, want your car detailed to the most spectacular thing that you've ever seen, ever, you call Supreme Detailing. It's only a Supreme thing. And also, we do this because we actually like seeing difficult situations get cleaned up, because that's how things and that's basically life. When you're in a tough situation, you have to go through a certain process where you have to Clean yourself up or not clean yourself up, get yourself cleaned up, and then now you're, you know, like kind of like a flower, in a type of sense. So what I would leave with the audience today is believe in yourself, believe in everything that you want to do in life and believe that you can accomplish it, because once you do that, then you're there is there a number or website you'd like to share?
