Speaker 2:Welcome to the Good Neighbor Podcast. Today I have the pleasure of introducing Aaron Hawken and Nemo with Hawkeye Entertainment Fellas. How are you doing today?
Speaker 3:Hi, we're doing great, and yourself.
Speaker 2:I am well. I'm well'm well listening. We're excited to learn all about your company. I'm not sure if it was aaron, you're the the manager, and nemo, you're the talent uh, uh, I'm actually our uh, we uh, aaron's the manager.
Speaker 3:I do a lot of the creative production side of things. Um, we a lot of the outreaching as far as networking and where we try to be at as far as locations. Aaron does the same as well. Definitely, we're independent ran, you know. I mean it's a blast. I think our rules play key parts into what we do right now.
Speaker 2:So how did this all come about? How did you get into this business? Tell me.
Speaker 4:Well, yeah, I'll take that one. So I have a background in organizational management, business management as well as just like event organizing. Business management, um, as well as just like event organizing. Um, my, my, we're cousins also, by the way. Uh, nemo has been djing, entertaining, singing since what you were 15, 13, like, um so around around 2020. Um, when I moved back home, we started working together. We started working on projects, doing events, doing shows, all kinds of things, working with people in event tech, and eventually we decided to go ahead and just launch a formal business, and that's where we came up with the idea of Hawker Entertainment business, and that's where we came up with the idea of Hawker Entertainment. That's why we created it to give a formal business entity to the activities and projects we were already doing.
Speaker 2:Yeah, so what are some of the myths and misconceptions?
Speaker 3:You know, I think sometimes when people see that you're an entertainment company, they think really big already. They think like you've got like a you know, this huge studio area where you're doing and like putting on like you know whether it be a podcast or you're doing studio sessions or stuff like that. And I think a lot of it, especially with us being our entertainment company, is a lot of people don't understand how much Hawkeye does as far as outreaching to finding the venues and the places and the podcast studios to really work with, especially with the artists that we help right now and trying to get them more out there to the bigger media world. And I think sometimes, you know, we put out our flyers and we put out our events and a lot of people see them coming so quickly. So oftenly they're just thinking, man, like you know they got a whole, you know working machine. But I mean this company it'd be nothing without the artists that work with us, without our secretary help that we've had.
Speaker 3:I mean like it's, you know this is real independent. It's one thing you're working on something part-timely and you're not focused on it all the way. It's another thing where you're hands-on and we're touching everything, we're working with the artists. We work with our artists and communicate with them in a way to make sure that their legal sides of things I don't think people understand just how much on the legal side of things we've had to make sure it's secured as far as what we were doing as well too. Like it's kind of people see entertainment and they think that we're just gonna, we're gonna put something on or we've got something for them to come to, and I don't think they understand just how much real work goes into how we entertain and the type of quality of entertainment that we're trying to provide to people.
Speaker 2:Sometimes so, fellas, when you're not busy, you want to jump in? Go ahead.
Speaker 4:Sorry, I just wanted to address two quick misconceptions I think we get a lot.
Speaker 4:One is that when people hire us for a DJ service, a lot of times they think that maybe it's only going to be hip hop or R&B or something like that, when the reality is is we have a broad range of music that we play.
Speaker 4:From that we know anything and everything, from country to metal to pop, whatever it is, you know, we can play it all. To pop, whatever it is, you know we could play it all. Uh, and then the other misconception I wanted to put out there is people think that they see entertainment and they think that we're just an entertainment company. But really, really, you know, we're an outsourcing company. We offer business management and consulting services for small businesses. I've helped set up several small businesses here in the area as well, as you know online creators and artist management and also just editing services for people locally, so that you don't have to use any of these like Fiverr or other programs for people that you know might not be on the same page as you. So we offer a lot more broader services than just entertainment and that's.
Speaker 2:You know, oftentimes people miss so when you're, you know two are not busy running your business. Um, what do your guys like to do for fun?
Speaker 3:aaron, you want to go first, or?
Speaker 4:yeah, yeah, I mean, I play a lot of pool. That's mainly what I do. I play a lot of pool, um, and just uh hang out with friends, watch sports, that kind of thing, you know yeah, it's the same for me, just about pool.
Speaker 3:Um, I've just started getting back into the working out phase of things again with my health, so that's been fun. I mean, I DJ. I do enjoy DJing, so it's nice to do that in my spare time, to get some practice in and whatnot. I love basketball and stuff, so that's pretty much where you can find us as far as what we do outside of that.
Speaker 2:Listen, fellas. I'm going to put you on the spot a little bit, make you a little uncomfortable, if that's okay. I know there's a lot you want to share about Hawkeye Entertainment, but I want you to narrow it down to one thing, one thing you want your listeners to remember about your business, and each one of y'all can share your one thing.
Speaker 3:Aaron, you want to take that?
Speaker 4:You can go first, man.
Speaker 3:Okay, I think the one thing I want people to really take away from as far as our company is we're for the community, we're for pushing and making the artists and the people that we work with and providing the best quality of either the artists that they're trying to be or the work that we're bringing them. As far as me, doing an event such as a wedding or a private party or anything like that. That's probably the one thing that I would want people to really take away from what Hawkeye does.
Speaker 4:Yeah, I would. I would have to just reiterate that the one thing that I want people to understand is that you know we're born and raised here, we're really local. We've got a list of local talent and people that, for any kind of event you want to have, as well as offering services that you know we have a bit of a, we have a bit of an advantage over. You know you trying to go to a larger scale social media company or a larger scale management marketing company for your business or for your entertainment services or whatever it may be, because of our local community roots, so that might be the main thing.
Speaker 2:Yeah, and I'm not sure who want to answer this question, but how can listeners learn more about Hawkeye Entertainment?
Speaker 4:We have a website. Go on the website, check out everything that's on there. It explains all the stuff we offer as well as a simple Google search we usually come up pretty well. Also, our social media. You can always keep up with us there. We're always posting stuff. We just did a skate event not too long ago. That was our latest post, so you can keep up with what's going on over there. We always announce things on there. But yeah, those are probably the best ways is social media and our website.
Speaker 3:Shout out Willoughby Skate Day. We'll be doing that again October. Halloween. Friends, family, kids are all welcome.
Speaker 4:Is there a URL or a phone number you'd like to share? Well, for the number for the company, you can just call me. My number is 772-634-8025. As far as URL, it's a simple Google search. You'll find us. We've got a green logo. It's got an eye on it, a bird's eye on it. You'll see it. It's hard to miss.
Speaker 2:Listen, aaron Nemo. It's been a pleasure having you on the show. I wish you and your business the very best moving forward.
Speaker 3:Thank you, we appreciate the invite Absolutely.
Speaker 4:Thank you for the interview.
