Leona Krasner is helping families navigate their toughest legal challenges.

Garfield Bowen & Leona Krasner

What happens when a childhood dream of becoming a lawyer meets a passion for helping families navigate their toughest challenges? Attorney Leona Krasner answers this question through her thriving family law practice spanning New York and New Jersey.

Leona breaks down her practice into four essential "buckets" that address the full spectrum of family legal needs. From creating prenuptial and postnuptial agreements for couples planning their futures together to guiding clients through divorce proceedings with dignity, her work touches families at critical junctures. She also specializes in all matters involving children—custody arrangements, support payments, parenting schedules, and more—while providing vital assistance with restraining orders when relationships become unsafe.

Behind the professional facade lies a fascinating personal journey. Having set her sights on a legal career at just seven years old, Loena refined her focus through mentorship and hard work. Today, as her practice expands to its fifth location, she balances her professional responsibilities with motherhood, world travel, and an impressive reading habit of about 100 books annually. Her innovative approach to finding clients through Facebook mommy groups reveals both her entrepreneurial spirit and genuine connection to the communities she serves.

The most powerful moment comes when Leona shares her core philosophy: "You're in full control of your life, even if it doesn't feel like it." This empowering message reminds listeners that positive change doesn't require magical intervention—it requires decisive action. For those feeling trapped in difficult family situations, Attorney Leona Krasner offers both hope and practical support through free consultations available by phone (917-589-6519), email (Leona@LKrasner.com), or through her website (www.lkrasner.com). Ready to take the wheel and steer toward a better future? Your neighbor, Leona Krasner, is ready to help you navigate the journey.

Speaker 1:

This is the Good Neighbor Podcast, the place where local businesses and neighbors come together. Here's your host, Garfield Bowen.

Speaker 2:

Welcome to Good Neighbor Podcast Live. Are you in need of a family attorney? Well, one may be closer than you think. Today we have the pleasure of introducing you to your neighbor Leona Kasna, with Kasna Law. Leona, how are you doing today?

Speaker 3:

So well. Thank you, Garfield. How are you?

Speaker 2:

I am well. I am well. We're excited to learn all about you and your business. Tell us about your practice.

Speaker 3:

Okay, so I have a family law practice helping folks in New York and New Jersey whose needs fall into one of four buckets. One folks who are looking to get married and need a prenup, or are already married and need a postnup. Second bucket is for folks who really don't want to be married anymore and need a divorce. Third bucket is all things kids, custody, child support, parenting time, passports, paternity, all that fun stuff. And fourth bucket is restraining orders against a current romantic partner, a former romantic partner or a family member.

Speaker 2:

Wow, you got a lot of buckets there, so how did you get into this business?

Speaker 3:

Okay. So when I was seven I decided I wanted to be a lawyer. Wasn't too sure what they did but, gosh darn, I was going to be one Around 10 or 11,. I decided I wanted to help children and so I got started in the tutoring space, first joined a networking group but was practicing law during that time. Told that family lawyer in that chapter that I would love to launch my own practice. She mentored me, I graduated from working with her and now here I am with my own family law practice and we're looking to open up our fifth office in central New Jersey this week.

Speaker 2:

Wow, that's fantastic. I had dreams of being a lawyer myself. After graduating with an accounting degree, I did not want to read another book.

Speaker 3:

I hear that.

Speaker 2:

There's lots of books in there. What are some of the myths and misconceptions of having your own law firm?

Speaker 3:

Common misconceptions of having my own law firm is that I'm in it for the money. Now, garfield, money's great, all right, but I'm really in it to help people. People, people who have family law difficulties, are seeing some of the worst times of their lives, so being able to help put them in the driver's seat with me or my team right next to them and help them pave the way to their family law finish line is something that is very important to me.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, you painted a clear picture of who your target audience is. How are you currently attracting them?

Speaker 3:

So jumping on videos like this and podcasts like this is one way. Another way is I am a mommy, I've got a three-year-old little boy, and so, as I was getting ready to be a mommy, I joined a mommy's group on Facebook and realized that basically every day Garfield, somebody was asking for a family lawyer. So I joined a bunch of those other mommies groups and that way I've been able to help more mommies who are in need of family law services. I also network a whole lot. Look to you know, rub elbows with fellow entrepreneurs or folks who are looking for referrals. Lots of my clients need the help of other professionals, and so helping in that way is helpful for me and for them and my clients.

Speaker 2:

So you used your mommy superpowers, huh.

Speaker 3:

Bam exactly right.

Speaker 2:

Have you ever thought about doing your own podcast?

Speaker 3:

I think it's a wonderful idea really considering it, maybe for down the line.

Speaker 2:

Okay, when you're not so busy with your business, what do you like to do for fun?

Speaker 3:

I love playing with my little guy. I love traveling. Just got back from Portugal around a week ago. We went for a little trip with my husband about to go visit grandma to celebrate her 95th birthday in Miami Beach this weekend, so very excited about that. I love delicious restaurants all across the world, but also in New York City where I live and I love to read books. So I read around 100 books a year.

Speaker 2:

Oh, wow, the book thing. I'm still working on. I'm still working on the book thing. On the book thing. If you was to narrow it down to one thing, what's that? One thing that listeners should remember about crafts and the law.

Speaker 3:

You're in full control of your life, even if it doesn't feel like it. So if your life is not where you want it to be in a family law context, if you're living in a situation that is not it, long term, you have the ability to change your life, change your children's life, get out of the bad situation and make it wonderful and amazing, because that's what you deserve. So don't wait. Don't wait for some sort of magic to happen. You get to be the person to decide when that change starts. So I encourage you to make that change sooner rather than later, and I'd love to help.
