Rebecca Vincent Shares How "I Count For You" Empowers Small Businesses
Are you a small business owner juggling multiple roles? Rebecca Vincent from ICount4You joins the Good Neighbor Podcast to reveal why professional accounting support might be the missing piece in your business puzzle.
Drawing from over two decades of experience, Rebecca breaks down the evolution of her accounting practice from simple tax preparation to comprehensive business consulting. She addresses the costly misconception that many entrepreneurs have – believing they can handle all accounting responsibilities themselves until they're "hustling and bustling in the ninth hour" to meet critical deadlines. As our host Garfield wisely notes, proper accounting guidance is "cheaper up front than it is at the latter end," potentially saving businesses from expensive legal complications.
What makes Rebecca's approach unique is the "dual combo" she offers: traditional accounting services paired with strategic business consulting. This holistic method helps small businesses and nonprofits achieve what truly matters – efficiency, resilience, and financial stability. Beyond the numbers, Rebecca's services include process improvement, contingency planning, and creating what she calls "finance SweetSpark" – the perfect balance of business strategy and financial expertise. Despite her professional intensity, we also glimpse Rebecca's relaxed personal side, enjoying cooking, watching sunrises, and finding peace in life's simple pleasures.
Ready to transform your business's financial health? Connect with Rebecca through ICount4You.com, social media, email at info@icount4you.com, or by calling 866-636-1456. Your business deserves more than just number-crunching – it deserves a financial partner who understands the complete picture of entrepreneurial success.
This is the Good Neighbor Podcast, the place where local businesses and neighbors come together. Here's your host, Garfield Bowen.
Speaker 2:Welcome to the Good Neighbor Podcast live. Are you in need of a consulting business that specializes in accounting and taxes? Well, one may be closer than you think. Today we have the pleasure of introducing your good neighbor, rebecca Vincent, with. I Count For you, rebecca. How?
Speaker 3:are you doing today? I'm doing well, thank you. How are you?
Speaker 2:I am fine. I am fine. We're excited to learn all about you and your company. Tell us about your business.
Speaker 3:Well, it's a business that started more than 20 years ago, where I started out doing simple tax returns for individuals, and it has grown into that plus doing taxes for businesses small businesses mostly, and some nonprofit and we also now are branching out into more business and consulting.
Speaker 2:Okay, what are some of the myths and misconceptions in the industry?
Speaker 3:Some of the misconceptions is sometimes business owners that wear more than one hat feel they don't need an accountant in the business and I think sometimes some of the legalities and the laws and rules go amiss with that. And then you know in the ninth hour they're hustling and bustling, trying to get the account. They need to be able to file the documents or whatever's required at the time. So sometimes it's just a misunderstanding of the contribution that an accountant needs to the business.
Speaker 2:You know, as an accountant myself I can say for many people if they don't stay close to an accountant they're going to have to spend a lot of money in legal fees.
Speaker 3:It's cheaper up front than it is at the latter end.
Speaker 2:So we all know that marketing is the heart of every business. Yeah, so we all know that marketing is the heart of every business. Who's your target clients and how do you attract them?
Speaker 3:So generally our target are small business, and I say we do a specialized specialization for some nonprofit organizations, but mainly small business owners would be the target and we attract them through word of mouth.
Speaker 2:I've attended some networks also, but generally through word of mouth have you ever thought about doing your own podcast?
Speaker 3:No, oh, I actually did, but it was just a thought.
Speaker 2:I haven't executed it yet. Now, rebecca, I know you personally and you're a very hard person to catch up, so I know you're very when you're not outside of work, when you're not so busy with your business. What do you like to do for fun?
Speaker 3:I'm pretty laid back. I like to cook, I like to explore new recipes, I like watching the sunset, the sunrise. I'm pretty just low-key reading, chilling out, basically.
Speaker 2:Okay, we're going to wrap, but I want you to leave our listeners with one thing. If you were to leave them with one thing, what one thing should they remember about? Icount for you.
Speaker 3:Well, you know, as a business consultant, also with the tax and finance aspect, we have a dual combo with providing services to small businesses. So with that we um. We help with process improvement, efficiencies, contingency, concession planning, um in addition to accounting and tax service. But we also want to create an environment for our business where they're efficient, where they are resilient and also financially stable. And we combine those two and that's where we finance SweetSpark with business consulting and the tax support on the financial side.
Speaker 2:I know tax is always a big concern to everyone, and I guess it's scary for a lot of business owners and all our listeners here that probably have one thing on their lips now, and that's how. How can I get more information on iCount4U?
