Confidence, Not Quick Fixes: Rethinking Medical Aesthetics
What if aesthetic care felt less like a quick fix and more like a long-term plan for confidence? That’s the lens we bring to our conversation with physician assistant Mario Nova of Bespoke Medesthetics in Jericho, New York, where subtle Botox, refined fillers, laser skin resurfacing, and wellness services come together to help clients age on their own terms. Mario shares how nearly two decades in hospital medicine shaped her exacting approach to safety, anatomy, and results that look natural in real life, not just in photos.
We dig into common myths about med spas—especially the fear of looking “done”—and break down how precise dosing, conservative staging, and a strong grasp of facial structure create results that look like you, only more rested. We also explore the role of hormone replacement therapy and peptide therapy in boosting energy, sleep, skin quality, and mood, and why pairing these protocols with skincare, SPF, and laser treatments can significantly improve long-term outcomes. If you’re curious about how Botox works on movement lines, when fillers restore structure without altering identity, or how lasers tackle texture and sun damage with realistic downtime, this conversation offers clear, jargon-free answers.
Mario also talks about serving busy adults ages 25–55 who want subtle, confidence-building changes, and how her team reaches them through Facebook, Google, and community events. Beyond the clinic, we get personal about family, work-life balance, and the values that guide their practice: care that prioritizes health, educates honestly, and plans for results that last. If you’ve been hesitant to try a med spa because you fear dramatic change, this is your blueprint for natural aesthetics and whole-person wellness.

SPEAKER_01:Welcome to Good Neighbor Podcast Live. Are you looking for a med spa? Well, one may be closer than you think. Today I have the pleasure of introducing your good neighbor, Maria Nover, the physician assistant at Be Spoke Um Metasthetics. Maria, how you doing today?
SPEAKER_02:Good, good, Godfrey. Thank you for having me.
SPEAKER_01:Listen, we're excited to learn all about you and your practice. Tell us about your company.
SPEAKER_02:Absolutely. Yeah. So we're a medical, uh, we're a medical spa based out of uh Jericho, New York. We do, you know, all from uh Botox, fillers, um, to, you know, laser treatments for skin resurfacing. Uh and we do a lot of wellness as well. We do hormone replacement therapy, peptide therapy. So, you know, everything from the outside to the you know, for to within, just to help everyone feel um a lot better. So uh Maria, how did you get into this business? So to be honest, um, so I've been a PA, I've been a physician associate for what, 18 years. Um, I worked all throughout medicine, worked at Hospital for Social Surgery, worked at St. Francis Hospital, and you know, the hospital work, it's it's great, but it's you know, it's exhausting. Uh so I want to say back in 2016, my wife and I, who's a nurse, we were looking for like other things to do, and we took a Botox course. Um, and nine years down the road, here we are. You know, we we went from pretty much injecting all the nurses and the post-separative care unit where we worked, uh, to like figuring out and realizing that it was a great opportunity for us to, you know, um to take advantage of. And and um, you know, here we are, opened up our own our own place. Uh, a lot of our clients, our mid-level providers, are you know, all the nurses, all the doctors, all the MPs, MPAs uh that we work with, obviously, as well. Um, and because of that, we've been very thankful uh to you know to be where we are. So, what are some of the myths and misconception of MetSpace? Um, I want to say the biggest myth is that, you know, um you don't have to look overdone or all natural, right? Um, I think that, you know, everyone when they hear about Botox and fillers and all these other treatments, they think they're gonna look fake, right? And I think that that's just not a reality. I think it really depends on where you go. If you go to a provider who understands anatomy, who understands what it is that they're doing, uh, the idea here is not to make you um, you know, look different. It's just to make you look a little bit better, a better version of yourself.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, we know marketing is the key to all um the heart of every business. How would you describe your target audience and how are you currently attracting them?
SPEAKER_02:Um, our target audience pretty much, you know, it's your typical 25, 55-year-old men and women, um, you know, uh working that are looking to feel better, that they're looking for that little bit of edge, that you know, age is starting to kick in, and they want to do a little something just to feel better. Um and pretty much we do so we do a lot of Facebook, we do a lot of Google marketing, and we do a lot of uh uh person to person, we do a lot of events as well, um, in order to meet our our uh our future uh patients and you know understand their needs uh in order to be able to, you know, provide what it is that they need.
SPEAKER_01:Uh this is a fascinating and growing category. Um, have you ever thought about doing your own podcast?
SPEAKER_02:Uh, you know, it's funny, uh we have. Um I I have a lot of friends in the industry that it's like, you know, something that we want to do, but it really comes down to like, you know, timing for us, I think. It's it's not easy, as you know, you know the that's a whole business in itself. Uh, but it's something that we that I definitely consider.
SPEAKER_01:So when you're not busy with running your business, um, what do you like to do? What you and your wife like to do for fun?
SPEAKER_02:So I have two kids. I have uh I have a three and a half and a two-year-old, uh, and a two-year-old. I have a boy and a girl. So as you can see, my hands are full. Love spending time with them. Um, you know, so pretty much anything that has to do with my kids when I'm not at work, that's my life. You know, my main fo I'm 42 years old. My main focus right now, besides my business, is spending as much quality time with my family.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, when when you said two kids that young, I kind of knew the rest of the story. Yeah. Exactly. So listen, we're about to rap, but I want you to leave our listeners with one thing. If there should be one thing they should remember about these folk, uh metasthetics, what would that be?
SPEAKER_02:I want to say that, you know, medical aesthetics isn't about quick fixes, right? Um, or superficial enhancements. It's all about self-care, it's all about uh, you know, creating confidence um and aging on your own terms, you know. Um, we believe on natural in natural results, believe that we can definitely accomplish that for our patients. Um, and just you know, we don't want to fully change you, we just want to make you a little bit better.
SPEAKER_01:Okay, there's one thing now on our listeners' lips right now, and that's how how can they get more information on uh B Spoke uh metasthetics?
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, absolutely. So I mean you they can find us on Instagram uh at Best Spoke Metasthetics. Um our website is www. uh best spoke medesthetics.com, or they can call us uh to our uh direct number, which is 516-916-5899.
SPEAKER_01:Listen, Mary, it's been a pleasure having you on your show. I wish you and your business the very best moving forward. Thank you, Garfield. Appreciate it and thank you for having us here.
