Something feels “off” inside a lot of workplaces right now, and it’s not always easy to name. We sit down with Allison Jerrett of Inspirational Vision Consulting, LLC to talk about what organizational effectiveness really means and how companies can diagnose problems before they become expensive crises. Allison explains how she enters an organization, starts with a leadership intake, runs assessments, and then listens across teams to uncover pain points, workflow breakdowns, and missed opportunities to optimize performance.

Allison also brings a sharp lens from IO psychology, using evidence-based methods instead of guesses or hype. We dig into what it looks like to pivot a workforce strategy, strengthen a struggling business area, and make recommendations that leaders can actually act on. Along the way, she shares how her path from the Air Force to corporate America shaped her perspective on organizational dynamics, accountability, and what healthy execution looks like.

We also talk about a timely challenge: AI is booming, but the human factor can get lost. Alison makes the case for keeping people, communication, and culture in the plan, not as an afterthought. And because layoffs are top of mind for many leaders and employees, we explore how proactive strategy, earlier diagnostics, and smarter organizational design can reduce the likelihood of reaching that point. If you care about leadership alignment, employee engagement, change management, and building resilient organizations, you’ll take away practical insight from this conversation. Subscribe, share the episode with a leader in your life, and leave a review, then tell us: what’s the first thing you’d improve inside your organization?

I'm good. How are you? I'm doing well, doing well.

SPEAKER_02

Very excited to learn all about you and your business. Just telling me about this organization effectiveness consulting. What is that all about?

Keeping People Central In AI

From Air Force To Consulting

SPEAKER_01

Okay, so my business is Inspirational Vision Consulting, LLC. And what we do is we go into different organizations and help them with their organizational effectiveness. So anytime they're looking for pivoting their workforce strategy or trying to find out if there's different moves they need to make to basically optimize the organization, that's where we come in. My background is in IO psychology. So I take the methodologies that are aligned with that to basically come in and to see where organizations are. So the way we get started is, you know, we meet with the leadership team, we do an intake, we do assessments, things of that nature, just to kind of see the overall health of the organization. And then once we understand what the health is and what the leadership is trying to accomplish, we're able to go in and do what's needed. So that could be going to different areas within the company, doing more assessments, talking to the employees, seeing where their pain points are, um, if they're trying to save revenue, um, if they're trying to build out a certain part of the company, that's where we come in and um we basically determine what we see, what we could do to help strengthen that, and then um present that to the leadership team and and and kind of go from there. So very passionate about it. I think that especially with what's going on right now with the boom of AI, um, that human factor is is getting a little bit lost. So we're able to kind of come back in and show the organizations where we want to keep that intact and in place, um, but get them to what it is they're trying to get to.

SPEAKER_02

So, what led you? How did you get into this type of business?

SPEAKER_01

I'll be honest, when I was completing my bachelor's in psychology, there's a career piece where you kind of decide what area you're trying to go into. And Io psychology stuck out to me. Um, my background is I'm retired Air Force, and so the organizational dynamics is a little bit different, right? When you're coming from a um military background and and you kind of take orders, if you will, than when I came into corporate America. So once I retired from the military, um, I started working within civilian organizations and just seeing how some things felt a little off. Um and so that really resonated with me, and and that's when I decided to go ahead and get my advanced degree in Iopsychology and and really start looking at how organizations can do better uh when it comes to certain things. One of the things that I'm very passionate about is um layoffs, and and we see it a lot more recently, um, and the market's a little bit hard right now. So looking at how we can be more proactive in the things and strategies that we do before we even have to get to that point. And I understand business is business, and sometimes it just really comes down to money, but if we, you know, look at those things prior to, it may not have to be such a heavy hit. Um, so that's kind of how I got involved with um doing what I do.

SPEAKER_02

You know, marketing is the heart of every business, and you talked about um people uh losing their jobs, you know, technology and other things go by. Who's your target audience? And how are you currently attracted?

Who She Helps In Healthcare

SPEAKER_01

Um, so my target audience would be healthcare, um, small, mid, large organizations. Um, I definitely do like to work with folks that are um in in the startup space because I think that's where we can grab um and make the changes early on so they can continue to grow their business. Um, my my background is in healthcare, so I, you know, have a vast uh experience within that, and then of course with HR and strategy, so that would be my my target audience.

SPEAKER_02

Um I know you're here on um the Good Neighbor Podcast live show, but have you ever thought about doing your own podcast?

Life Outside Work And Research

SPEAKER_01

I have so um I'm I'm right now I'm just looking into different podcasts um avenues and and looking at media and and watching different podcasts and trying to basically align how I want to do that, um, exactly what space I want to do it in. Um, I've done a couple LinkedIn lives with colleagues discussing various things when it came to coaching. So this is not unfamiliar to me. I just am really trying to learn um the scope of doing a podcast.

SPEAKER_02

So Allison, you're not busy running your business. What do you like to do for fun?

SPEAKER_01

I'm a mom. So I have three sons, they keep me pretty busy. Um, I love to do research. I know that sounds very nerdy of me, but I like reading, I like researching different things. Um, I enjoy going to the movies and I enjoy just being outside and in nature, taking walks, things of that nature. Um, so that's what I do in my spare time.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, we're about out of time, but I want you to listen us, lead up lead our listeners with one thing. If there's one thing they should remember about inspirational vision consulting, what would that one thing be?

SPEAKER_01

I would say passion. Um, and I use that word because we are definitely very passionate about what we do. Um, it's not we're not looking to come into somewhere and just blow up the spot and and and make it seem like you're not doing what you should be doing as an organization, but the passion comes from making sure we're doing it right and to where everyone is going to feel the benefits of what we do.

SPEAKER_02

Um, our listeners now probably have one word on their mind, and that's how how can they get more information on inspirational vision consulting?

SPEAKER_01

Um, so I have you guys can contact me. I have a website, um, it's inspirational vision consultinglc.org. I'm actually it's under construction right now, so I'm working on that. Um, if I can, I would leave all my information with Good Neighbor Podcast. Um, and then you know, people can reach out to you guys to see if um to get my information.
