In this episode, Nelson and Alexandra's special guest is the author Simon Medhurst. He is also the great grandson of Quartermaster Robert Hitchens who famously was at the helm when Titanic hit the iceberg. He's portrayed by Paul Brightwell in James Cameron's film.
Simon tells of not learning about his Titanic heritage until middle age. He did not know his direct connection to Titanic until he was 45 despite being fascinated by Titanic long before the 1997 film and talks about a whole line of his family that would not be here if he had not survived.
