Episode 17 Marriage as a little g (god)

Anything can become an idol including our marriages. When we place anything or anyone above God and Jesus, it becomes an idol.

In this episode, we discuss the importance of keeping the Lord first in our marriage so we do not allow our marriage to become a god with a little g. It's a struggle more often than not to keep not only our marriage but other things from taking precedence in our relationship with God through His son Jesus Christ.

Exodus 20:3-6 ESV
3   “You shall have no other gods before me. 4   “You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. 5   You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I the Lord your God am a jealous God,  visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and the fourth generation of those who hate me, 6  but showing steadfast love to thousands of those who love me and keep my commandments.

Luke 14:26-27 ESV
26   “If anyone comes to me and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters,  yes, and even his own life, he cannot be my disciple. 27   Whoever does not bear his own cross and come after me cannot be my disciple.
