Yet even in rebellion, we encounter something powerful: a holy God who is also merciful. Through intercession, discipline, and covenant renewal, the Lord reveals His character — compassionate, gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love.
As Lent begins this week, this passage invites us to reflect on what’s ahead. Lent calls us into repentance, surrender, and preparation for the cross. Just as Israel had to confront their wandering hearts, we are invited to examine ours — to lay down our idols, to wait on the Lord, and to remember that His presence is the greatest gift.
