What goes into a Rushing Attack?

  • Identity of offense
  • Zone or Gap Scheme
  • How to gain numbers
  • Foot to foot - Run behind the wall

Why do we organize it in families or series?

  • Run, Adjusts, RPO, Play Action
  • Motion, Can it be with different players
  • Counters - Reverses
  • Family - Zone/Gap
    • Ease of teaching
  • Series - Everything looks the same
    • Allows me to know how the defense will likely play, and go where they aren’t
  • Adjustments - Double Team (similar to doubling a WR on Def)

How can we develop a ground game that sets us up for success?

  • Must be able to run to win at all levels of football - Finish games
  • Physical Football
  • Get numbers right

What NOT to do as a Coach

  • Today’s Lesson: “Don’t get ahead of yourself in building an offense.”
