12 | Erin Navarro

This week's episode features Erin Navarro, who is a San Francisco-based, Filipina-American working as a professional in the clinical diagnostics and biotech industry. 

A fellow native of the Excelsior district (of San Francisco), Erin spent some time living and working in San Diego after her undergraduate studies in biochemistry and molecular biology. 

Time outside of work is spent being a cat-Mom and human-Auntie, advocating for mental health and fitness, sharing memes, and bringing to light the implicit stereotypes commonly found in the Asian American community around her. 

Once adhering to the expectations of a "model minority", Erin talks about navigating ways of seeking validation and fulfillment on one's own terms, while balancing the pressures of religious, ethic, social, economic, and political cultures.
