Today's episode features Jose Meneses.
Jose immigrated to Southern California, from the Philippines, in 2009.
In high school, Jose was awarded with the coveted Bill and Melinda Gates Millennium Scholarship.
Jose was also introduced to a Nonprofit organization called Peace Over Violence, where he now serves as a Board Member.
In college, Jose graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Political Science at UC Davis. Jose used his undergraduate degree to pursue Law School at the UCSF College of Law.
Jose has spent the past few years as a lawyer and valued member of society.

**After recording, Jose asked me to call out the accuracy of the following statements. In the early minutes of the recording, Jose shared that his grandmother led prayer rallies. He actually meant to say that she participated in them. While discussing the Gates Millenium Scholarship, Jose mentioned that most scholarship recipients leveraged the funding to pursue Doctorate degrees. He meant to say that many of recipients pursue Doctorate degrees.
