This episode is dedicated to all birth mothers, and especially birth mothers who had their child taken away. This poem is inspired by my own life story as a former foster and homeless youth, adoptive mother, and professor of social work.

I love you

I see you

I hear you

I feel you

Dear birth mothers

you are loved

And those tears and wombs that form part of you

I love you

I see you.

I hear you

And I feel you

Dear birth moms who had their children taken away

you are a massive force that cannot be reckoned with

Your winter storm is like no other.

Dear birth mom whose pain run deep

Your rose petals are the scent needed to welcome the spring

Dear birth mothers

You are almighty

You are frequently misunderstood

You are favored and dismissed all at once

But to me

you are

devine.

Dear birth mothers

continue to love

Because as your love runs deep

you are healing

I love you to the end

And the end does not exist

You are me

And I am you

And we are

One.
