Those who work with kids in the out of school time arenas do not have to look at the official statistics to know that the children and families they serve are experiencing increased challenges related to both mental health and social determinants of health. You all witness firsthand, how children are struggling with sadness and hopelessness and how caregivers are struggling to make ends meet. Today, we talk with the Linda Hall from the Office of Children's Mental Health who introduces us to a variety of resources made available by her team. She also highlights how important the work of the OST field is to the mental wellbeing of kids in Wisconsin and gives us inspiration to further support quality connections for kids and families.

This is Beyond the Bell with WOSTA, Wisconsin’s hub for professional development for anyone working in out of school time programs and youth serving organizations. If you wish you had an extra tool going into programming to help guide behaviors in a productive way, wish you knew more about how to provide the whole family with support, or want to enhance your own wellbeing, then this is a home for you. We know what it’s like to feel like there is never enough time or resources to meet everyone’s needs and we are here to support you through challenges.
