Carrie

Hey, I'm Carrie.

Kristine

Oh my gosh. And I'm Kristine,

Carrie

and we are best friends

Kristine

and we have a podcast.

Carrie

We do. Welcome to our first episode.

Kristine

This is a little crazy.

Carrie

This is weird. This is something that has been such a long time coming.

Kristine

We've been working on this for what, two years now?

Carrie

Yeah.

Kristine

The equipment has been sitting in

Carrie

this room

Kristine

collecting dust

Carrie

for two years, and the idea's been even longer.

Kristine

Oh, yes.

Carrie

We knew we wanted to do this. We've had the name for.

Kristine

Forever,

Carrie

for probably 10 years. We, we bought the domain for this for like years ago,

Kristine

and it's finally here.

Carrie

It's finally here.

Kristine

Oh my gosh.

Carrie

So welcome to two Babes and a bad idea.

Kristine

It is a bad idea. It's such a good one.

Carrie

It's such a bad idea. And we'll add this right at the beginning. Um, this could be explicit, so make sure you don't have little ears around.

Kristine

Yeah, we don't know exactly what's gonna happen. Carrie and I live very unfiltered lives and we're gonna continue to do so. And you're along for the ride. So buckle up. It could be neat, it could be boring. I don't know.

Carrie

We'll find out. So today we're just talking about who we are. We're gonna introduce ourselves, let you know who we are, how we know each other, and. Kind of get into that for this episode. So welcome.

Kristine

All right, let's do it. Okay, so I'm Kristine. Let's start off, um, with that, um, do we wanna go like in deep? I'm 35 5 1. What info do you want? Um, I, Carrie, and I've been best friends for forever, and she's gonna talk about a little bit about herself as well. And then we'll just talk in it, talk about our friendship.

Carrie

You wanna tell me what you're reading right now?

Kristine

Yes. Okay. I love this one so much. Okay, so I am currently reading, I'm just ending. Um, it's called for the Fans. It's um, do you remember the author

Carrie

Nyla Nyla Kay.

Kristine

Yeah, that's right. Yeah. that is probably one of the dirtiest, raunchiest Most sexy, delicious.

Carrie

Mm-hmm.

Kristine

Captivating read, I have read in a very long time. I'm actually reading it for the second time, back to back. I'm just finishing the epilogue. Um, and it is, I just, I don't know if I'm actually done with it yet. I think I'm gonna have to go back to it maybe in a little bit. But it's It's sexy.

Carrie

It's so good.

Kristine

It's so sexy. Carrie gave me the recommendation. Yeah. And um, I have yet to put it down right.

Carrie

It is, it is so unbelievably amazing. I read it back in March. I read it, I devoured it in a day, day and a half. Um, which is crazy cuz it's such a long book and I just, I loved it.

Kristine

Yep. It is. If you are going to pick it up, please keep an open mind. Um, that's your warning.

Carrie

It's yeah, read the triggers. They're right at the beginning.

Kristine

Yeah, it's, but if you do go for it. I promise you it is something that you will love forever. The story is just, I'm like my, I'm like closing my eyes and just like imagining the characters, cuz it just, it makes me feel whole

Carrie

it's so good. I love it. It's so good. Um, I'm reading the House Maid right now. I'm in my thriller era. I've switched over. I I do love romance reads. Don't get me wrong. They're, they're my. Favorite, but I started reading the housemate and I just cannot get enough of it. It is so good. It's such a good thriller. Um, if you read Verity by Colleen Hoover, you'll love the premise of this book cuz it keeps you on the edge of your seat the whole time, but it's not thrillery enough that it's gonna scare you. So it's really, really good. I highly recommend it. It's called the Housemate.

Kristine

Can you gimme a snippet of like, what it's what it's about because I, I need a new book here right away.

Carrie

Yeah. So like, maybe it's something that I wanna read. Yeah, I think you'll like it. So it's this gal and she gal, and she gets out of prison and she's going to find a job, but she doesn't want anyone to know that she's. Just gotten outta prison. Okay. So she goes and interviews for a job being a housemate at mm-hmm. Um, this couple's home and she lies in her interview. She gets the job. Mm-hmm. And they put her up in the attic. That's where she sleeps, in this little room, in the attic on this like little cot. And they're loaded, And they all have these big, huge bedrooms and they put her upstairs. Um, okay. Which is, you know, kind of feels a little weird, but whatever. She was just happy to have somewhere to sleep cuz she was previously living in her car and weird things start happening. I can't g give you any more without giving away big parts of the plot, so,

Kristine

okay. Yeah. Okay. Interesting.

Carrie

Mm-hmm. And it has a really big twist and like, it's just good.

Kristine

I love that. Yeah.

Carrie

So I highly recommend, that's my read right now.

Kristine

Okay. I will maybe I'll jump into that next.

Carrie

Yeah, do it.

Kristine

Okay. Let's let's talk a little bit about you, Carrie. So I talked a little bit, a little snippet of myself. Mm-hmm. Let's do you baby.

Carrie

So I'm Carrie. I am currently 36, but I'm going to be 37 in a couple months. Um, and I am married. I've been married for 14 years and I have a little girl. She's eight, almost nine, I guess. She's not so little anymore. And yeah, and I own a business with my best friend.

Kristine

That's me.

Carrie

And now we have a podcast. Oh my God. Which is so weird.

Kristine

So weird. Um, I also am married, I forgot that part. Sorry, Jayce. I've been married for 12 years. Mm-hmm. Is that right? Mm-hmm. Um, 12 years. I have a daughter, she's almost seven. And our husbands are also best friends. So that's a little snippet

Carrie

Yeah.

Kristine

Of our lives,

Carrie

but we are best friends first. Yes. Yeah. We're always though j we're jg.

Kristine

Mm-hmm. Naturally. Um, yeah. So that's, that's us to begin with. But you guys are gonna learn so much more,

Carrie

so much about, about us.

Kristine

So let's start off about how we came to be as friends. Okay. Because Carrie is, I don't know if I actually mentioned my age. I'm 35.

Carrie

Yeah, you said you're 35.

Kristine

Okay. So Carrie's two years older. Okay. Um, But that so that doesn't really line up with school?

Carrie

No.

Kristine

We've known each other pretty much our whole lives. So how did we come to be Carrie?

Carrie

So, when I was in grade five, I, um, met a girl in my class. Her name was Amanda, and we became best friends. We were best friends up until probably like mid high school, grade 12. And she happens to be Kristine's oldest sister.

Kristine

And then I stole Carrie.

Carrie

She did, she did. She took me, I mean, we, we would always hang out. Oh yeah. When Amanda and I were there. But you were more like my annoying younger sister at that point.

Kristine

I was actually explaining that today when we were getting her hair done. Um, the lady, the gal, Cindy, who was doing my hair, who's fantastic by the way. Um, she asked how we got to, how we came to be, and I was telling her like, My mom kind of made me play, not play with you guys. Mm-hmm. But hang out with you guys. Mm-hmm And I think that's kind of how it started. Cuz I was always around like I was, I'm my middle child so I was too old to hang out with my little sister cuz it weird. The age gap was just too much. And then I was, I. You know, I was kind of on that cusp mm-hmm. Of teenager. Mm-hmm. I guess with you guys. So my mom kind of was like, just, just hang out with her and shut up kind of thing. Mm-hmm. And then you guys did?

Carrie

Yeah, we did.

Kristine

And then that's how we kind of came to be and started being a little bit closer and mm-hmm. Learning who each other were and,

Carrie

and then it probably wasn't until high school Yeah. That you and I. Like started talking outside of Yeah.

Kristine

So, well, Amanda was in, she started cheerleading in, in junior high.

Carrie

Oh yeah. And we, yeah. Yeah. We were not, we used to talk on the phone.

Kristine

Yeah. So, and we weren't, um, part of the cheer team or any other sport since.

Carrie

No.

Kristine

Um, so we would chat on the phone and hang out a little bit more, and then it just kind of like gradually mm-hmm. Snowballed into the fact that like, Amanda kind of drifted off. Um, and I want, I wanna preface by saying you guys are just very different people and like went into their different lives.

Carrie

Oh yeah.

Kristine

And I didn't like steal her, like I wasn't a, an asshole.

Carrie

No, no, no.

Kristine

I mean, I'm always an asshole, but

Carrie

yeah. No, no, no. We, Amanda and I are even as adults now, we're just very different. And we were, we were really good friends for a long time and we're still friends. It's just. Yeah, we were

Kristine

different lives.

Carrie

We were different from each other,

Kristine

different strokes for different folks.

Carrie

Yeah. You're my kind of stroke,

Kristine

I'm winking. I love that for us. So yeah, that's how we came to be. Mm-hmm. And then as high school and junior high progressed, so Carrie was in high school when I was in junior high. We our friendship kind of mm-hmm. Just blossomed even more.

Carrie

It really, it really did. And we used to spend a lot of time together. Yeah. And then

Kristine

so much time.

Carrie

Yeah. And then you and I kind of have a habit of dating people and friend groups, so

Kristine

we do,

Carrie

yeah. Yeah.

Kristine

We, we dated an entire friend group. There was what, four or five guys?

Carrie

I don't know. Yeah, probably.

Kristine

And we went through the whole thing. It was just whole group?

Carrie

No, that was you. I dated one of them.

Kristine

Yeah, I did. Okay. I think I didn't, yeah, I didn't date. I use quotation marks or quotation, you know one of them?

Carrie

Yeah, one of them. And then the one that I was dating,

Kristine

so two

Carrie

Oh, I oh two. Okay. I married one of them,

Kristine

so three. Because, okay. Can we just, can we list them off? Can we use initials?

Carrie

Sure.

Kristine

A I did not date him.

Carrie

No, no.

Kristine

N did not date him.

Carrie

No,

Kristine

you are, we're gonna say his name,

Carrie

Nick,

Kristine

later. So Nick, I did not date him. Mm-hmm. It's like my brother. That's gross. Um, S, I did.

Carrie

Yeah.

Kristine

Literally. Um,

Carrie

j

Kristine

J I did m and m I did.

Carrie

You did.

Kristine

I'm a little slutty, so Yeah, we do, we tend to go around the block here.

Carrie

Yeah. With the friend groups. And now our husbands are best friends, so. Yeah. Apparently we're friend groups.

Kristine

We're not friends before.

Carrie

No, no, no. Not at all.

Kristine

Didn't even know each other. Mm-hmm. Until later on. Mm-hmm. Yeah. So that's what, that's how that happened.

Carrie

Yeah.

Kristine

What the heck were we even talking about? How did we get on the SJ and A and

Carrie

oh us being friends and dating and like,

Kristine

oh yeah.

Carrie

And yeah. Yeah. So that's kind of how we stayed friends when we were in university. When I was in university, cuz that's how I met. Yep. Number one. Um,

Kristine

I love that for us. Yeah.

Carrie

Yeah. And then,

Kristine

and then it just continued on

Carrie

and then we became really close. Yes. When you left me.

Kristine

Yes, I did. I, went to Bonnyville for five years. Um, my, that's where, so my husband and I met, oh man, I just am a Steeler. Mm-hmm. So I. Started dating my husband, who was actually dating an old friend of mine. Mm-hmm. Back in junior high. And then they broke up and then I just swooped in. I do that apparently, so like, I don't know, watch out or something, watch out. Um, so I swooped in and then when we started getting like real serious, I moved to Bonnyville for five years and And then Carrie was very upset.

Carrie

I was upset. I still am.

Kristine

She, she actually sent me gifs

Carrie

Mr. Rogers

Kristine

of Mr. Rogers saying like, will you be my neighbor? And like every single day for five every day, five years for five years, begging me to come back and literally not like, just move back to the city like nearby she lives. Like get your ass assure. Park.

Carrie

Yeah. Be my neighbor. Yeah. No, I was. I didn't, I didn't give up. I was relentless. Yeah.

Kristine

You did a really good job.

Carrie

Thank you. Because well you were, you did come back. I did. Yeah. And if you didn't come back, we wouldn't have Lll b

Kristine

nor nor would we have a podcast. No. It was really cool. Podcast room.

Carrie

Yeah. But that's how we became such good friends. It. Yeah. Or so we were always good friends, but we got really close while you weren't living here,

Kristine

which is really funny.

Carrie

Yeah, that is funny how that works. But I just feel like maybe we treasured our time together more, or like the times we got to, like we talked on the phone all the time.

Kristine

All the time,

Carrie

instead of hanging out and maybe it being less. We would talk on the phone every time I was driving somewhere.

Kristine

We didn't have like real conversation. Yeah. It was nothing like superficial friendship. It was like, no, she knew my feelings.

Carrie

Yeah. Oh yeah. There was lots of crying dark ones.

Kristine

Oh yeah. We both crab babies.

Carrie

Oh, so bad. It was so bad. Yeah. So that was that's kind of how we became really good friends. And then she back shore park because I had a baby and she just couldn't beat without me.

Kristine

Honestly, I, this is actually one of my, the. I hated the fact that I lived in Bonnyville and you had Brooke.

Carrie

Yeah.

Kristine

I hated that.

Carrie

Yeah,

Kristine

because the, when she was in labor, I had to go back. Mm-hmm. I had to go.

Carrie

You left.

Kristine

Jayce had to go to work. And I had no way of getting to back to home. I had no, I had no way.

Carrie

It's because I was in labor for 8,000 years.

Kristine

Yes, I did. I stayed as long as I humanly possibly could. Mm-hmm. But I didn't get the phone call. What time was Brooke born?

Carrie

Like, like 11 something?

Kristine

Yeah.

Carrie

At night. Like really late.

Kristine

And I didn't, and when I got the phone call I was like, I was just, There. Mm-hmm. Like I like it still breaks my heart.

Carrie

Yeah, it sucked.

Kristine

And Oh, I hated that. I'm get a tear up change topic. I just hated that. Yeah. Cause I wasn't here. Yeah. And I was supposed to be here. Yeah.

Carrie

And then, you know, she was this baby and you'd only get to see her every,

Kristine

I know.

Carrie

Time you guys to come to visit. So I'd like to thank Brooke for bringing you back.

Kristine

Honestly, I think we moved back when she was. Seven, eight months. Mm-hmm.

Carrie

Something around there. Okay. Because, I mean, we started our business when she was, she wasn't quite a year.

Kristine

No. And she babys or she babysat me. I babysat her. Or like Jayce and I did. You guys went on a holiday and I think she was around nine months old when

Carrie

we went to Vegas the first time. Yeah. Um,

Kristine

I think she was like nine months.

Carrie

No, cuz it was, it was July. It was 4th of July. So she would've been a year and a half, like a year and a half after that.

Kristine

She was that old already.

Carrie

Mm-hmm. Because we were gone for the 4th of July and I wouldn't, I was still. Wow. Yeah. Oh, wow. Unless I did leave her when she was at home.

Kristine

I thought it, I thought she was nine months. I thought she was a little bit earlier

Carrie

maybe.

Kristine

But yeah, regardless,

Carrie

it's possible.

Kristine

Bye mama. Out.

Carrie

Oh yeah.

Kristine

Well, yeah, whatever. Yeah. And then we moved back and then, mm-hmm. So we moved back into the same town and then now we're neighbors.

Carrie

Yeah, I can, well, I can't anymore, but I used to be able to see Kristine's house from my front porch.

Kristine

I, um, I hate that there's houses there now. Like I love that our community is growing, but I hate that. I can't spy on you.

Carrie

I know I can't see your house.

Kristine

I liked knowing. When,

Carrie

when got pulled out of the driveway.

Kristine

Yes. Yeah. I liked seeing the car on the driveway. I liked seeing Nick mow lawn.

Carrie

Yeah.

Kristine

I, I am a creepy

Carrie

Yeah.

Kristine

Son of a bitch.

Carrie

I'll give you to log in for the cameras if you want.

Kristine

I would really like that.

Carrie

Just log into the leemur

Kristine

like you think I'm joking, but like I need to, to

Carrie

No, no, I know, I know. I get it. Um, yeah, we now live. Two blocks away from each other, a block and a half away from each other. And the walk is, I think like

Kristine

the timed, we timed it, it was like two minutes and like 48 seconds or something. But like, we can get there way quicker. Mm-hmm. Way quicker.

Carrie

Way quicker.

Kristine

Yeah. I agree. Honestly, like I just bolt there

Carrie

and we do, especially in the summer, we do spend all of our time together. Yeah. I love summer. I love how much time we spend together in the summer.

Kristine

Our summer consists of music. Twisted tees, Vizzy's, pool, husbands and children. Yep. That's our summers. Yeah. And late nights and like, I know I've mentioned music, but loud music.

Carrie

Oh yeah. Loudest.

Kristine

My favorite time of the year.

Carrie

Mm-hmm.

Kristine

People ask all the time, they're like, are you like, where, when? When's your next next trip? And I'm like, well, not till August, because I'm not missing out on my summers here. And they're like, what do you mean? Mm-hmm. I'm like, we have the most beautiful summers. Yeah. We have so much fun. I'm not leaving.

Carrie

When people ask me if I have like any weekend plans in the summer, I'm like, mm-hmm. No. No. Weekends are the time. Yeah.

Kristine

I'm not giving that up. No. I don't like to leave work early and hit the pool.

Carrie

Yes.

Kristine

That's what I'm about.

Carrie

And Friday's off.

Kristine

Amen. Yeah. preach girlfriend.

Carrie

Yeah. That started last summer and never going back.

Kristine

Yeah. Yeah. Summers are the best.

Carrie

They really are. They really are. I do. I love a good summer.

Kristine

And do you know why? That's funny cuz I mean, you weren't here this past weekend, but I was telling Nick when he was over for dinner, I was like, I, as soon as it heats up, I start craving our summer food. Mm-hmm. And like we have like specific meals in the summer.

Carrie

Yeah. We do

Kristine

like example, like what we had for dinner.

Carrie

The chicken buns.

Kristine

Chicken. Yeah. Chicken on Kaiser's and like that's all I wanted. It. It mm-hmm. Got, it was 25, 26 degrees or whatever it was the other day. And like I woke up and I was like, I want a chicken Kaiser.

Carrie

Yeah. Yeah. Nachos on the barbecue.

Kristine

Ah. Yes. And the beef sliders Yes. That Nick makes.

Carrie

Yes. Smash burgers.

Kristine

Oh, smash burgers. Yes. Yes.

Carrie

They're so good. Oh my God. Yeah. We have, we do, we have our summer pasta salad. Yeah. Oh yeah. Nick made some on, was that Friday night?

Kristine

Oh, yummy.

Carrie

Yeah. And what a time. I had some last night, some leftovers. Yeah. So good. We love food. Lives do revolve around food.

Kristine

Yeah. You guys are gonna hear a lot about, um, what we're currently hyper fixating on. Mm-hmm.

Carrie

Kristine especially. Yeah. She's a hyper fixator.

Kristine

Yeah. I can't eat the same thing over and over again. It's hard. So like for a long period of time. Mm-hmm. So I'll stick with it for like a week, week and a half, and then, and then it dies.

Carrie

Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. So for me, I can eat the same thing every single day without fail and I do. Um, And I never get sick of it. Maybe, maybe I could take like a day or two off of it, but I don't get so sick of it that it makes me like, wanna die. Yeah. For you, not so much.

Kristine

No. And like that's a superpower I wish I had. Yeah. Like you're my superhero.

Carrie

Because when you hyper fixate on a food, you want it every day and then you have to stop or else you'll get sick of it. That you're literally sick. Yeah.

Kristine

Like right now is avocado toast. And I have to be really careful mm-hmm. Of how often I'm having it. Like I had to take a few days break, um, because I was starting to get. Legitimately giggy. Mm-hmm. And sick to my stomach and I was like, I don't wanna ruin this for myself. I have to stop.

Carrie

Yeah. Like oatmeal, cold oatmeal or like whatever. overnight oats.

Kristine

Yeah. That was a bad, bad, bad, bad time.

Carrie

Grill, cheese sandwiches on the panini maker.

Kristine

Nope. That smell still makes me sick still. I'll walk into the kitchen and somebody's using the panini maker and I'm like, woo. Gotta go.

Carrie

Those were the two big ones. Those in the overnight oats

Kristine

and the tacos.

Carrie

Oh yeah.

Kristine

The Costco tacos or whatever.

Carrie

It's Costco. Fajitas.

Kristine

Fajitas. Yeah. I can't even think about it. Like it literally gives me goosebumps, but that's fine.

Carrie

It's never happened to me

Kristine

and it doesn't happen to most people like Jayce Eats the same thing every day. S Scarlet eats the same thing every single day. Mm-hmm. I cannot do it. Mm-hmm.

Carrie

That's fair.

Kristine

I try.

Carrie

Yeah, I get it. I get it. But I don't, I can't relate

Kristine

something's wrong with me.

Carrie

That's fair. I mean, I'm just used to it. Now, sometimes I have to say to Kristine, I have to be like, um, so I think you need to stop eating that because you're, be careful.

Kristine

Yeah. But yeah, that's how we know each other. That's like, that's what we were supposed to be talking about. Mm-hmm. But we're now we're talking about hyper fixating of food and how I get gagging.

Carrie

Because I know, I just know you're gonna get there. Yeah. It's, and I don't want you to be sad. No. Especially avocado toast.

Kristine

Oh my God. It's my favorite. Ugh. So delicious.

Carrie

Like kb

Kristine

Ugh. Go for that. Mm-hmm. Love it. So yeah, so that's how we know each other. And then so yeah, we're neighbors and we also own a business together. And we have for eight years. And now we're doing the podcast. So what's our next, that's our next, it's our

Carrie

thing right now.

Kristine

Adventure.

Carrie

It is.

Kristine

We're being adventurous.

Carrie

We are being adventurous, and I'm so happy for us.

Kristine

What's your K? So what's your favorite thing about the podcast room? Because it's so new and different.

Carrie

Um, it's a toss up between the chairs. They're bright, fuchsia and the neon.

Kristine

Yeah. I really like the neon.

Carrie

What about you?

Kristine

I really like, I know we've had this carpet or this rug for a while, but it just, it's so inviting. Mm-hmm. And then I really like the pictures of us. Ugh. Because

Carrie

we're so cute.

Kristine

We're really, really cute. Yep. Like super attractive. And I love how like I look at you very longingly. You do in the pictures.

Carrie

You do. It's a lot of love.

Kristine

So like Yeah. Big crush. Big crush. Yeah. So that's what we've got going on.

Carrie

Yeah. That's Tell Tell me something else about you.

Kristine

About me? Mm-hmm. Um, okay. So I guess I'm assuming we're gonna have some new listeners here. I don't. I'm really boring. I run a lot.

Carrie

Same.

Kristine

I really love Monopoly. I made my family play Monopoly with me yesterday cuz it was Mother's Day. I got away with it. They abandoned me for a while from playing Monopoly. Um, something else about me, I don't know. I feel like I'm just your same old, same old until it comes up. You know what I mean?

Carrie

Yeah, yeah.

Kristine

Like I'm just. I'm just that guy. Yeah. I'm just here.

Carrie

You're just plain, normal,

Kristine

just plain.

Carrie

You're not

Kristine

I'm not at all until it, no, until it comes up. Like I always have that, I always have, have such a hard time. Mm-hmm. Describing myself or like talking about myself until it arises. Mm-hmm. That's fair. I can't just pick it out.

Carrie

No, that's fair.

Kristine

What about, what about yourself?

Carrie

Um, well, I'm a mom has said already. Um, I actually am a cpa. Yeah. That's my claim to fame. Yeah. That's good. That's the only thing I have. Yeah. Um, so I am a designated accountant. I have had my accounting designation for I think over 10 years now.

Kristine

Congratulations.

Carrie

I don't. Thank you. Thank you. Um, I used to actually work in accounting. Doing. I wish everyone, I wish everyone could see my face. And I just want everyone to know that I was an actual accountant that worked with numbers. I wasn't the,

Kristine

she was totally a stripper.

Carrie

I wasn't the only fans kind of accountant, you know? Um,

Kristine

I really wish you were like, I think that would be such like that. Wouldn't that bring up such good conversation? Mm-hmm.

Carrie

It really would.

Kristine

And like it really would. I'm not just, I'm, I'm just not brave enough.

Carrie

No.

Kristine

Like, I don't like seeing myself, you know, like I just think that's a little No too much.

Carrie

No, I'm not into that for myself,

Kristine

but for those who do amazing, and I wish I had that confidence. I just, I just can't. See myself in those positions without me, like,

Carrie

no. And I just, I always envision like, like someone's friend seeing it or like, oh my God, you know, like your dad. Like, you know, like, I don't, I just can't imagine if, or your dad's friend was like, I saw Kristine. I'm like, I don't want that.

Kristine

I, I think I would just key over Yeah. And die.

Carrie

So I just, I can't.

Kristine

I can't imagine being like my dad being like, so Don called me today and Im like, oh yeah, how's Don? He's like, well, not good. Like, oh shit, dad. I'm sorry.

Carrie

Yeah. So, no. So I do the traditional accounting. Yeah. Um, I don't anymore, but I did and I did that for probably six years and then I just didn't anymore, cuz. I just, I enjoy numbers and I enjoy spreadsheets as you know. Yeah. But it just didn't bring me the joy that it should have. And honestly, my job made me so miserable, as Kristine knows, cuz Yeah. As we talk about me calling her on the phone. On the way home from work that, that was one of my cry sessions often,

Kristine

almost every other day. Yeah. She would be like, this place, it's awful. Mm-hmm. Or like, my job sucks. I should be as Trevor,

Carrie

I did. I honestly, I just, I hated everything about, it wasn't even the job itself. It was the things that came with the job. Working with a lot of women, which is ironic since we own, we own a business with a lot of women. Yeah. Just like the drama. The cattiness. The pettiness. It just, No, there was just, there was too much. Yeah. And it just, I had had enough and then I left. And

Kristine

so much happier.

Carrie

Oh yeah. No. Yeah.

Kristine

No more crying.

Carrie

I took two months off. I didn't work for two months. It was so nice.

Kristine

Yeah, that's a nice break.

Carrie

I had a job to go to, but I didn't, and no, for two months.

Kristine

Well, you can't do that to yourself. No. And that's like one of the best things about. Your, like yourself is just recognizing mm-hmm. That you need that time. Mm-hmm. Because it is a lot Yeah. Of pressure. Yeah. And just, you can't knock yourself down that much. No, I think I be strong.

Carrie

You really do need to recognize when you're close to that breaking point and you really mm-hmm. Have to take that step back. And I know it's easier said than done, especially from a financial standpoint. It's not, not everyone can take, just quit their job and take two months off. Like I get that. Yeah. I was very blessed that I had that. Option and that opportunity. But I was at this point where I was crying all the time. I couldn't sleep. I was working crazy hours, as you can imagine, doing accounting. And I just, it wasn't healthy. Mm-hmm. And I really, I was struggling with having a baby at the time, and I didn't know if the stress was part of my issue or not, but News flash it was. Yeah. So, It just

Kristine

takes a lot of courage to do that. Yeah. So good job, Carrie.

Carrie

Thank you. Thank you.

Kristine

Standing ovation. And I'm not getting up, so

Carrie

No,

Kristine

I'll, no, I'll tell you. Standing ation,

Carrie

you could pretend no one would know. No.

Kristine

Good job, buddy.

Carrie

If I knew what these buttons down here, I know where, where I would push one of them.

Kristine

I pressed one earlier by accident. It sounded like fairy music.

Carrie

Do you think one of them could be applause?

Kristine

Yeah, hit one. It's closer to you than me. Oh, oh. Yeah, we told you to buckle up. We weren't kidding if you made it through this far already.

Carrie

Yeah. Let supposed the applause button. I know which one it is now.

Kristine

What number?

Carrie

Um, it's the, the second yellow one here.

Kristine

I can't actually see it.

Carrie

Oh, okay. Well it's that one. Oh, that one. Okay. Yeah. Okay. Yeah, so really excited about that. And you know what, as the episode's gone, maybe we'll figure out what all the buttons are.

Kristine

Yeah. Okay. Who knows?

Carrie

We'll push one. We'll push one in episode. There's eight here, and take eight episodes.

Kristine

Perfect. Yeah. That's a time to be alive.

Carrie

I think so. Good. I think so. Oh. Um, wow. We talked about me for a really long time, or we went off on a tangent. That's the big thing about me though, is that's my claim to fame. I used to do accounting.

Kristine

I don't have any big things. Mm. Got a mole.

Carrie

You moved to Bonnyville for five years.

Kristine

Yeah, it was terrible.

Carrie

Yeah.

Kristine

No, no, not terrible. Like I hated being away from you. I actually really enjoy Bonnyville. Um, really nice small town. It's a little shitty here and there, but Nice. Like it wasn't a great people. I made some amazing friends out there mm-hmm. That I miss. Um, but it was fine. Whatever. I had a good house.

Carrie

Yeah.

Kristine

Love my house.

Carrie

Yeah.

Kristine

Great location. Mm-hmm. It's not a golf course. It was really nice. It was bougie. It was. It was a great bougie house.

Carrie

Yeah. Yeah. I liked that house.

Kristine

Yeah. But whatever. I've got nothing else.

Carrie

Okay.

Kristine

Got a mole. I like crime. So wait, Gary and I were planning on our podcast and we were talking about like, or like topics that we could be discussing. I just blurted out the word crime, like nothing like. Oh, I like to watch True Crime or Listen to True Crime podcast, which is all true, but I just shouted the word crime. And Carrie wrote down the word crime. Yeah. We literally have

Carrie

this list of episodes and it says Crime Midway. It just says crime.

Kristine

So at least we can knock that off now because we did talk about crime.

Carrie

We did talk about it. I'll, you know what, I'll check it off tonight.

Kristine

Perfect. Yeah. Yeah. So I got nothing else. Oh. Like I said, things will come up. Mm-hmm. And they come up. Mm-hmm. Then we'll talk about it. Mm-hmm.

Carrie

And we talked about how we met.

Kristine

Yeah, I think we did it. I think we did the episode.

Carrie

Okay.

Kristine

That's wild. I really didn't, I really didn't know how this was gonna go.

Carrie

We kind of figured this would be a little shorty. Why don't we talk about what you can expect.

Kristine

Yeah.

Carrie

As we come up, that's great.

Kristine

And then I have a question. Okay. Okay. But let's talk about that first.

Carrie

Okay. So do you wanna ask your question before you forget it?

Kristine

Yeah. I'm not very bright sometimes. I just wanted to know, because I said earlier, I'm leaning over to get my drink. Why don't we talk about what we're actually drinking? We have our Starbucks orders in front of us. And we do, we are actually recording this on, I hope to God we've pressed the record button. Could you imagine

Carrie

that's something we would do?

Kristine

Yes. So we are recording it and I know we're gonna get questions later, like, what are you drinking? So let's talk about our Starbucks orders.

Carrie

Okay. So I drink the same thing every time. Yeah. Oh, two things. But um, This is my iced Americano. It's decaf, and I put a little bit of half and half in it. Um, I don't really like sweet drinks. I don't like sugar at all in my coffee, so I can't drink the fufu lala, like fancy ones. Yeah. Which sometimes I'm a little jealous of that. Um, and I also can't drink caffeine after noon because I start getting really shaky. So I go decaf. Yeah, that's what I'm drinking. Happy.

Kristine

Okay.

Carrie

I You're welcome. For that drink,

Kristine

I'm currently hyper fixating on the white chocolate macadamia cookie crumble. Cold brew. Cream cold brew. Whatever it's called. Um, Carrie ordered it for me last week. Week before

Carrie

last week.

Kristine

And I. Needed more in my life. Mm-hmm. And I think this is my third one since, yeah.

Carrie

Did you have one this weekend?

Kristine

I did, yeah.

Carrie

After your run or

Kristine

No, I got a, the strawberry watcha latte thing. That's really good. I really like that. After it's nice and light fruity.

Carrie

Kristine ran from our house, which if you knew where it was, you would be like, wow. She ran all the way to Starbucks. Normally you'd be like, oh, that's not crazy. No, we live in the boonies. And Kristine ran to the freaking Starbucks.

Kristine

It's motivating, knowing that I'm gonna get some good out of it, you know?

Carrie

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Starbucks at the end.

Kristine

Yeah. And when I see like life, cuz we live in the boonies, so when I start going into town and I see like the SA Avon, I'm like, yeah. Or the McDonald's first. I see that and I'm like, holy shit, there's people, civilization. Um, and then I turn and I see the SaveOn. I'm like, okay, I'm getting closer. I'm getting closer. And then I see that Starbucks and like, yeah, oh, I just, happy dance. Yeah, it's so good. But yeah, so it was a little, it's 13.67 or something kilometers away. Mm-hmm. It's, it's a, it's a good run. Yeah, it's good. But anyway, so yeah, that's what I did. But this drink is so good. I highly recommend it.

Carrie

Yeah. I mean, it smells good.

Kristine

Yeah, it's delicious.

Carrie

I wouldn't drink it, but it smells good.

Kristine

It's a fufu lala drink. Like, there's lots going on.

Carrie

I can't, yeah, it's, I just can't. I wish I could, but I can't. Yeah.

Kristine

I just wanted to know what you were drinking

Carrie

and I like that

Kristine

even though I ordered it.

Carrie

It's Avanti Americano. Um, I, I actually prefer hot coffee to cold coffee all the time. Mm-hmm. Except for today because, um, little fun fact for you. This podcast room is about 8,000 degrees. Cuz we're having some issue with the air conditioning actually coming on in here.

Kristine

Like, I'm dripping.

Carrie

Oh yeah. It's hot. Yeah, I'm wearing a sweater. It's for show. So

Kristine

soaking up the sweat.

Carrie

So what, what can people expect?

Kristine

Okay. Yeah. We're gonna talk about so many different things.

Carrie

Yeah.

Kristine

We're gonna always talk about what we're currently reading or watching on the old tv. We're gonna be talking about our daily life. Mm-hmm. What's it like to be best friends who own a business? What's it like just to be best friends? What's it like to be best friends with somebody that you've known for your entire life? Mm-hmm. Oh God. What else are we gonna talk about? Food,

Carrie

crime. Food. Yeah. Yeah, absolutely. Food.

Kristine

We're gonna, um,

Carrie

We're gonna have some guests. Yeah. We're gonna some surprise guests. We're not gonna, we're not gonna spill all the beans. No. Like, you need to tune in to know who our guests are gonna be. Yeah.

Kristine

We're going to we're gonna talk a lot. Like a lot. And the things that come up with Kristine and Carrie mm-hmm. Are. Mm-hmm. Very nutty.

Carrie

Yeah.

Kristine

And I fall in apologize in advance.

Carrie

And we're not lying when we say unfiltered. Like this is gonna be just us who we are. And I think that's the cool thing. Um, we always talk about how when we have our lives that we do for L l B or um, have we ever once talked about our businesses?

Kristine

I was gonna say. So we are going to talk about that probably in the next episode.

Carrie

Next episode. Yeah.

Kristine

Um, So you guys will figure out what LL B is and what the heck we actually do. Yeah. Yeah. Which you guys don't know. I mean if you do know, great. If you don't know. Yeah.

Carrie

I mean you probably do, but if you don't that's amazing. So when we do our lives and stuff, I just feel not that we're hiding who we really are, because that's also who we are. Mm-hmm. We just have to hone it in a little bit, you know, cuz it, it is our business and we, I don't know, I just feel like we're not filtered, but we're just like a little bit. Toned down.

Kristine

We're toned down, that's for sure. We're tone down

Carrie

and we can't talk about all this stuff on a live, they'd be be so long.

Kristine

No, they'd be so, so long. And we're there for like a purpose, like Yeah. Mm-hmm. Granted, when you and I go live, like on Mondays, our lives aren't very informative. It's just a bunch of crap. But like when, like we are there technically for a job.

Carrie

Yeah.

Kristine

And we have to get that job done. Yeah. But this, this is our way of just showing who we actually Yeah. Are truly our true selves are,

Carrie

and just shooting the shit,

Kristine

which could be a good or a bad thing. I'm interested in seeing if we lose some followers after this. I don't know. I think we're pretty great people.

Carrie

We are.

Kristine

We're very nice. We're kind. Yeah.

Carrie

And we're excited. We're excited to just show you that side of us and give you the opportunity to participate. Yeah. We're super excited.

Kristine

You guys can DM us your questions. Mm-hmm. Whatever you are burning to ask. And then we're, we'll talk about that.

Carrie

Yeah. We'll answer them. Yeah. Every episode we'll answer some questions and let you guys know

Kristine

what a time to be alive.

Carrie

We what a time to be alive.

Kristine

Yeah. So we're, we're pretty jacked up about it. It's gonna be a lot of fun. Mm-hmm. To make sure you guys hang out with us. Yeah.

Carrie

And something else we're gonna do every week,

Kristine

At the end of every episode. Yep. The classic game of Carrie

Carrie

Fuck Mary Kill. Mm-hmm.

Kristine

What a time. Yes, you did hear that right? We are going to do the fuck Mary kill game. Um, would you like to start it off, Carrie?

Carrie

Yeah. Okay. So I've had, I've had this one like in the bank for a while, like been ready to give this to one to you. Okay. Kristine?

Kristine

Yes, dear

Carrie

Loki.

Kristine

Ooh, love him.

Carrie

The Hulk Mark Ruffo version.

Kristine

Oof.

Carrie

Yeah. Or Ant man, Paul Rud.

Kristine

Okay. Fuck Mary. Kill for Lowkey.

Carrie

Loki that don't know. Um, Kristine loves Mark Ruffo. Yeah. Okay. You said Loki Hulk? Yep. Loki Hulk And man. Man.

Kristine

Okay. Fuck. Um.

Carrie

I'm so happy.

Kristine

Okay. I think I'm gonna, you think I'm gonna Fuck me a Hulk? I feel like that would be a lot.

Carrie

Yeah. Yeah.

Kristine

I'm into that.

Carrie

Yeah. Okay.

Kristine

Okay. I'm gonna fuck Hulk. Okay. Wow. I, oh shit. Oh, I really love Loki.

Carrie

Was this a good one?

Kristine

Yeah. This ones hard. Yeah. I have like, like Loki, the character. I love him and I have a huge crush on him. Mm-hmm. Um, But like Paul Red mm-hmm. I knew I would like to take that to town.

Carrie

I knew, so when I, when I came up with these, I have to flip it over, which you don't see next week's options.

Kristine

Okay. No, I'm taking it back. Can I take it back?

Carrie

Yeah.

Kristine

Or did I lock it in?

Carrie

No, you didn't look it in.

Kristine

Okay. I'm killing the Hulk. Okay. I'm gonna, I'm gonna fuck Paul Rud. Okay. Amen.

Carrie

Okay.

Kristine

I wanna see what he's about. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. He can get, he can, oh God. He can go small and he can go big. You know what I mean? Yeah. Come and then I'm gonna marry Loki. I think him and I are very misunderstood together. So when we were in Disneyland, um, I was like, God, I love Loki. And I just kept talking about how, I just think that he is so misunderstood.

Carrie

Yes.

Kristine

As a character. Yeah. And as a person. And I think that he needs to be appreciated more because he's misunderstood. Yeah. He just, he's a little bad. He's a little gun. Yeah. I'm very passionate about that.

Carrie

He's very passionate about Loki and that is why I had to ask,

Kristine

oh fuck. That was really funny. Okay, so I'm. I'm killing the Hulk. Okay. Although I wanted to fucking him first. Yeah, you did. I'm gonna kill him. Okay. I'm gonna fuck Aunt man. Okay. And I'm gonna marry Loki. Mm-hmm. Locked in.

Carrie

Okay. Okay. It's cause it's cause of Paul. Oh, okay.

Kristine

Like, not at all.

Carrie

But I'm, you know what, I have been banking this one for a while, so like, don't expect him to be this good every week.

Kristine

I'm really upset with mine now. It's not as good.

Carrie

I told you I was bringing the thunder.

Kristine

And you did? Yeah.

Carrie

Thank you.

Kristine

The thunder has been brought. Mm-hmm. Okay. Well, fuck. Mine sucks now. Shit. Okay. Fuck me. Kill, Carrie. Okay.

Carrie

Okay.

Kristine

We're gonna go with fucking sucks. Like, I just want to go home now. Okay. Honestly, they're all bad, so I'm just gonna pick one.

Carrie

You should see the disappointment on her face right now.

Kristine

So disappointed. I feel like they can hear it. Okay. Fuck Mary Kay. Okay. Scary spice.

Carrie

Okay.

Kristine

Posh Spice. Yeah. Or Ginger Spice. I didn't wanna say baby spice cuz I felt like that was just really weird.

Carrie

Yeah, it is weird.

Kristine

Okay. So it's not as good. I regret everything.

Carrie

Kristine's upset. Okay.

Kristine

It's cuz I misunderstood.

Carrie

Okay. I'm gonna kill Scary Spice. She's a lot, she's got a lot of hair and she's just, she's very like,

Kristine

I just licked myself on camera.

Carrie

Yeah, you did. You did. Um, people are watching. I know a lot of people might think, wow, Victoria Beckham, why don't you off her? She's really snooty, but I actually think she's quite funny. I follow her on TikTok and she's been with David Beckham, so like, I mean, we've got those, you know, seven separation here. Yeah. But just one. Um, okay. So I would. Fuck Ginger Spice. Yeah.

Kristine

I feel like she'd be you.

Carrie

Yeah. She's shout the right spicy home about Yeah. Yeah. She's spicy.

Kristine

Yeah. She knows what's up.

Carrie

And then I guess I'd marry Posh Spice. And you know what? I feel like that's great.

Kristine

I think that's a really good answer.

Carrie

Yeah. Thank you.

Kristine

Yeah, lock that in.

Carrie

I like how I said she had a lot of hair and she's just saying a lot.

Kristine

I feel like she would. Rip you apart.

Carrie

Yeah. She's just, she's just a lot personality wise for me.

Kristine

She would sing the, she would sing you to sleep though.

Carrie

Yeah. I If you would've picked Sporty Spice though, we would've had a different

Kristine

yeah. I honestly, I had a really hard time picking Yeah. Baby spice. I was like, I just, I, I just feel like she's too precious. She should stay outta this conversation.

Carrie

Yeah. She, I would've killed her for sure. Yeah. She seems like someone who would be whiny.

Kristine

Yeah. You know what? She probably, she does look like a whiny bitch.

Carrie

Yeah. I don't have that in me.

Kristine

Yeah. No. Okay.

Carrie

No. Okay. I'm good now. Locked in. Perfect. Locked and loaded.

Kristine

So that is how we're gonna end our episodes every week. You can anticipate a bunch of crap.

Carrie

And Kristine Kristine's going back to the drawing board for her next round.

Kristine

Oh my God. They suck. Like, okay. I need to, because I don't actually have it finished, so I have one. I have one. Hold on. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. Okay. And then I started one, the sixth one was gonna be like, um, A retro version. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. So I had like, I had one outta, three names picked, and the first name was Mr. Dress up. And then I couldn't think of anything more like other retro, so I stopped and said, I give up.

Carrie

I'm surprised you didn't pick Mr. Rogers.

Kristine

See? Yeah. That would've been, I was just, I was drawing a blank. I didn't have my phone, I had my computer. Not bright enough to like figure out

Carrie

like snuff up, I guess.

Kristine

Snuffle off I guess, but yeah. Yeah. So, okay. Well would you fuck, marry or kill Mr. Dress up? You don't have any other options cause you got nothing.

Carrie

He's, he's actually already dead.

Kristine

Poor guy.

Carrie

Yeah. So,

Kristine

but Okay, he was still kicking,

Carrie

I don't know. That's weird. I used to watch him when I was a kid.

Kristine

Retro version baby.

Carrie

I think I'd kill him.

Kristine

Yeah. That's cool. It's the sweaters, it's the animals on the hand.

Carrie

Yeah.

Kristine

There's a lot for me.

Carrie

There's a lot like him and, but if you put Mr. Rogers in there, who do I pick? Because they both wear sweaters. You know? Mr. Dress up, wear his sweater vest.

Kristine

I don't think he had a sweater ever. I thought it was like a button up. We're gonna have to do some serious Googling. Mm-hmm. He's probably really freaky or he probably was really freaky.

Carrie

Oh my God. I hope not. That's just her dress up. I'm looking him up for anyone who's wondering. I have my phone out. I'm looking up Mr. Dress up. Oh my God. Yeah. Okay. He Oh yeah. A button up with a bow tie.

Kristine

Oh. Oh wow. I see. That's not the Mr. Dress up. I remember like I know it's thin guy. But that's like really old. That's way before my time.

Carrie

But see, there are ones where he did wear cardigans.

Kristine

Oh yeah.

Carrie

So I think it just it, he wore lots of different outfits,

Kristine

that was such a good show.

Carrie

Like, kind of like lamb chops play along.

Kristine

That was such a good one too. So, yeah, that's the kind of crap you can expect.

Carrie

Yeah. Wow.

Kristine

This is probably a good episode or a bad episode. I don't know.

Carrie

Yeah, we're, we're not sure.
