Tackling Tenancy Fraud - unlocking homes for those in genuine need

Southern Housing

According to the National Fraud Authority, Tenancy Fraud costs £900m every year to the public purse - it's the second highest fraud in the country.

And it's estimated that between 3% and 5% of all social housing stock is affected by fraud.

This is set against a housing crisis where - over 132,000 families are living in temporary accommodation (including over 170,000 children)

So what are we doing to get these homes back for the people who really need them? We've our Tenancy Fraud Team - Jessie, Hema and Deborah to tell us more about a new key amnesty in November. We're offering those committing tenancy fraud the chance to hand back their keys without facing legal action.

Find out more about tenancy fraud, how to hand your keys back, and how to report it.
