So, welcome to Versa Business Tips Podcast. I'm your host, founder, and CEO of Versa Business Systems, Shaheen Mats Loom. We're here with the Hammer today. Mike Martinez, Hammer Leads. Thanks for joining us today. I know you're super busy right now, so I'm excited to jump into uh this conversation, brother. Thanks for joining us.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, awesome, man. Yeah, I've seen some of the stuff you've been doing. I've been really, really impressed. You know, we've known each other for, God, I don't know, is it 15 years maybe? I don't know.
SPEAKER_01Probably close to that by now.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, from Arizona. And and uh I've seen you go through a lot of different stuff, and and I think that you and I both, um, and that's why I was excited about this. I mean, you know, as as we get older, we learn from our mistakes, we learn from all the trials, and we start to figure out that a lot of the a lot of that, a lot of that, um, a lot of that pain was to get you to where you're at today because you know you can't without pain. And that's one of the things I realized in the last couple years is you know, even though it's painful, obviously God has a plan, and there's some growth involved. And you know, 100%. You know, I'm one of those guys, I think I like the pain. Right. That's what I figured out. I think you're kind of similar, you know, uh, because we we just keep grinding, you know. There's a lot of guys that that that that are back from back in the day that aren't even around anymore, you know, and tomorrow's not fine with anybody. And so my goal right now uh is just to become the best version of myself, which with which which that includes mental, physical, um mental, physical, spiritual, and aligned with fitness, dude, because without the fitness and the health, aligned with the spirituality, I mean, and and also a strong relationship. I mean, you're not really going anywhere, man. I saw that you got married, and you know, she seems like she's the one amazing thing that happened to you, and I see a lot of growth and change in you. So I'm excited, man. I'm excited for you and I'm excited for me. I mean, I've I've opened up uh Hammer Leads mid mid mid-December. After that's that's it, it's only been since this past December. It's only been since mid-December. And what happened was, dude, for many years, I kind of was the number two guy. I mean, I ran the SVG conference for uh, you know, seven years at the highest level under Ethnica Medico, and a lot of relationships were built there. Um, and then I also ran a lot of other companies, but I was always in the number two guy. And so finally what happened was um, you know, it was kind of in my um my my wheelhouse because you know we've been doing call centers and telemarketing for well over 20 years. Um, you know, I fell into it with a company called Call Center Doctors, it was a great company in the beginning. I ended up bringing on about 330 contractors to that to that platform, and it was great. And then the owner didn't kind of align with me in faith and had some different visions, and you know, uh he kind of fell apart in the end. And you know, one of the things I do is I try to weather through the storm, man. You know, you don't quit. We don't quit, we don't stop fighting, we don't give up. We, you know, I believe the customer's always right. That's my that's my motto, unless, unless he can prove me wrong, you know, and if I don't have the doctrine can prove him wrong, then I take the hate on that. And so he kind of had a meltdown, and God told me because I got baptized two years ago, gave my life to God, hammer on the front, faith on the back. That's kind of where the line of Judah came in. And uh mid-December, you open up Hammer Leeds, residential, and commercial. Um, since then it's been a complete blessing, even though we're in the slowest storm season I've ever seen, probably in uh 15 years in Texas, because that's one of the biggest markets in Florida. Uh, but since then, man, we brought on uh 156 contractors since mid-December, dude. Um, and some of the biggest brands in the country, you know, and and they trusted in us. And we've got about probably 96 testimonials now uh from contractors all over the country, you know, almost daily testimonials come in, and we've learned a lot of things from the failure uh of things that were broken that we were able to fix. I think you go through that too.
SPEAKER_01And so Yeah, 100%. Dude, it's funny, it's funny. Like this morning, I was having a conversation with a guy, and it's like, you know, you were talking earlier about how we like the pain. And it's not so much that we like the pain, but we know our biggest blessings always come when we're on our knees. You know what I mean? Like God suffering for whatever reason, he gets us down on our knees, and then you know, our biggest blessings always come right after that, dude. Every time, man, every time.
SPEAKER_02Well, he speaks to us in the storms, dude. And in the pain, you know, because a lot of times you're not opening for listening when you're flowing. You could be where he spoke to me the most is in the pain and on the ground when I was uh when I was uh you know need needing some changes, and that's why I got baptized and I washed away 45 years of my life. And now two years in, man, it's it's been a blessing. Uh, we've been very, very lucky, especially with the East Coast with the storms they've gotten. Um we have now 58 callers between the Philippines, Thailand, and spread out through Mexico. Uh, and we work with our team daily. I'm actually leaving to the Philippines and Thailand uh this evening, this evening at about 2 a.m. I'll be out there for about three weeks to four weeks training the team. Um showing them some love, showing up for them, you know, so we're not absolutely over. I think it's important. I always see you lead from the front.
SPEAKER_01And so important, man. Especially, especially in like this day and age where where everybody's so remote, right? Like, dude, I can't wait. Like you said, dude, we've known each other 15 years. We've never physically shook each other's hands. You know what I mean? Like, we gotta, we gotta do that, right? And it really is so important. It takes your relationships with your employees, with your clients, with your whatever, uh, to a whole nother level. Like, you could talk to somebody every single day, all day, and until you meet in person, like that's why, like, when I hire sales guys, I fly them out here, I have them stay at my house. Like, I get to really know them. Like, you know, Victoria for years, like the first time we met, like, was over the phone and we got to know each other. And then when she decided to come and work with me, I flew her straight. I said, Yo, you're you're coming, you're staying at my house. And at first she's like, that's kind of weird. I'm like, nah, I want to, I really want to get to know you, right? And so, like, it's there's there's nothing better than than a uh you know, face-to-face uh interaction. And man, like you going out to the Philippines to be there for those guys and to train them, you know, they'll follow you through anything, man.
SPEAKER_02Well, it's not only that, dude. We show up for our clients, too. You know, there's a lot of lead companies that are overseas, you know, and I I've dealt with a lot of scrutency. Um I've dealt with a lot of a lot of a lot of scrutency over the years with my converting uh to God, and then also other lead companies trying to ruin my character or ruin.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it's crazy what you've dealt with, man. Nuts.
SPEAKER_02But the difference is I show up, dude. You know, I'll show up to offices, the owners, I'll go break bread. You know, I'm not afraid. My I'm not hidden nowhere. I'm very exposed, I'm very uh easily findable, and you know, I gotta work almost 10 times harder uh than most people because I can't afford one negative thing on social media because that overlaps the hunter testimonials, dude.
SPEAKER_01100%, dude. I I tell everybody it takes years to build a reputation, it takes a day to cripple it.
SPEAKER_02Well, yeah, and that and that's the thing. But you know, the positive thing about that, Gene, is that it's helped me stay accountable. Same thing with the gym selfies, you know. And you know, I feel like if I don't take that selfie in the gym, even though guys are weird, like, oh, don't take your shirt off, but everyone's doing it all social media, and I'm doing it to show guys, not necessarily for pride reasons. I am proud when I look at the pride. But what's possible at our age, how to become the best version, the commitment, the dedication it takes to continually show up, to stay in the straight and arrow, the line. It's easy to live lawless, man, but it's not easy to live, you know, righteous. And, you know, I'm not sure.
SPEAKER_01And a disciplined, a disciplined lifestyle, man. If you can be disciplined in every single part of your life, you have you win no matter just by default, right? You're gonna win.
SPEAKER_02It's more it's more on the trajectory of North. You know, as long as you're not riding that wild roller coaster, like I stopped listening to music, I try to listen to, I was telling you Beethoven and Mozart. I try to listen to the driver.
SPEAKER_01I'm telling you right now, I'm clipping this. The fact that, like, anybody looking at you, what they would never imagine a million years, that Beethoven and Mozart is your go-to. Is that in the morning or is that throughout the day? Like, I want to know a little bit more about that.
SPEAKER_02I'm sitting down and I'm talking to contractors, a lot of times in the morning, they'll start out with the Bible, but throughout the day, I need some something in the background. It used to be Sade, right? Like with all the candles, and now it's like, no, the Mozart and the Beethoven plays throughout the day, and it keeps me in a um it keeps me in a lax pay uh uh place, and and it just helps me meditate a little bit better and keeps me focused on what I'm gonna do, and it gets me in flow, right? So, you know, I talked to a lot of guys a lot about um and and I didn't realize this, dude, but it's funny because you go back and Anthony Robbins is is the mentor, the goat. I mean, he his voice just intrigues me. I get goosebumps out of my head.
SPEAKER_01Yes, dude. I love I love his voice, man. I love his voice.
SPEAKER_02Anthony Robbins business mastery. I've been to a lot of his events, but you know, sometimes when I get low, I'll go back to him. And I was listening to it the other day, the power of uh uh the power within. And he talked about the RAS way before uh Ed Millette did, but it clicked finally with Ed Millette and the power of one more to understand the RAS. And so what I try to do is I try to eliminate, you know, those neck, neck, the, you know, the the dark, the the murder mysteries and all that negative stuff. I don't watch the news anymore. I try to watch like meditational stuff or things that are gonna be that can fill my RAS with. And then if I get negative thoughts, I try to push them out as quickly as possible and then associate something else with a happy feeling or be grateful for something. And I've learned to master that um for for for a little bit. Not not, you know, it's it's you have all these negative thoughts that go through your head and all these things that replay as an entrepreneur or or or or a sales guy. And a lot of those things don't even come to tuition, it's more of our mind beating up on us.
SPEAKER_01And so well, it's all it's all about what you're ingesting, right? Like if you're ingesting negativity and war and people talking crap about other people, scrolling on TikTok, and if you're if that's what you're ingesting, just like with a physical uh health, right? Like with your physical uh health, if you're eating junk food, you're eating McDonald's three times a week, you know, you're going to get sloppy and out of shape. Same thing with if you're ingesting that garbage, reality TV and all that three times a week, your mind is going to be more on the negative side than on the positive side. And as an entrepreneur, you just can't afford it.
SPEAKER_02Well, I think that's what's happening with you in the beach, because you're at the beach, you're looking at a beautiful ocean, you're listening to the waves, you're getting the sun, you're getting the vitamin E, you're getting all the vitamin D, whatever. You're looking good, you're tanned, you're feeling good. I mean, one of the best times I've ever felt was in Hawaii when God sent me to heal there, uh, which is a different story. But, you know, my first time in a waterfall was probably last year or a year and a half ago. And I mean, God just spoke to me and told me what I needed to do. I went to the road to Hana and the Garden of Eden, and I needed it, bro. I needed it to reset and recalculate. And I listened to the Lion of Judah probably 300 times that song, and it became my mantra. Yeah. That's where the lion came in, and all the lions on the shirts and on the back. It's you know, all uh of faith. So I've committed to hammer on the front, faith on the back. And you know, I'm trying to bring some faith back to the industry, but also, dude, I mean, I think there's a uh a healthy balance to that because some guys are ready to receive it. And as you saw, a lot of guys attacked me big time, and yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I was blown away by that. I really was like that, just made no sense to me, man. And all it really comes down to is they're worried that you're going to be bigger and better than them, and they're gonna lose money, and that's all it really comes down to because realistically, how can you be mad at somebody that has faith? And I just it's crazy to me, man.
SPEAKER_02I've noticed a lot, there's a lot of judging, and people decide what side they're gonna be on and how they're gonna operate. The Bible says it very clearly. I mean, you know, you know, you you're not to judge anybody, you know, it's not your vengeance, his vengeance. So that's one of the things I had to learn this year, too, with the business, because I was getting attacked so much, I had to learn how to respond. And yeah, I couldn't respond a certain way, otherwise, it was just even gonna be more coming. Right.
SPEAKER_01One thing that I was I was taught early on in business is take some time. You don't need to respond right away, right? Responding right away, we end up responding out of emotion. Um, and you know, sometimes we can make things worse, but when you stop and you think about it and you're like, you know what? I'm gonna respond the way that, you know, uh that that that Jesus would want me to respond kind of thing. Like it sounds cliche, but like seriously, like when you when you respond in a way where you're not trying to fuel the fire and the hate, uh, it it ends up working out so much better, and you come off looking like, you know, the the good guy in the situation rather than adding fuel to the fire and making it worse, and you know, which we tend to do when we fly off the handle and want to respond right away. Like, trust me, I get it.
SPEAKER_02Well, I think that was my that's one of my biggest um hurdles I had to learn. Uh, because you know, as a sales guy or a top producer, and I've been number one in almost every company I've worked for, and I don't say that probably I say that factually. Um, my my biggest um one of my biggest um I don't I'm trying to think what it put, you know, what one of the best things I do is I'm one of the best follow-up guys there is, you know, and and and I answer my phone 24-7. I always respond immediately. And you're right, sometimes it's important not to respond immediately, especially when it comes to negative stuff. So that's what Chat GPT has helped me with this year, is how do I respond as a righteous person? How do I respond in an empathetic, understanding way to not person feel some type of way? Because, like you said, just gasoline on the fire. And so the social media, even though as a painful as it's been, it's also grown me as a human. Yes, and grown me as a character to better my relationships with people, uh, to to to to learn how to respond more articulately, take the time to talk to the thing and really come up with um you know the right response that's gonna fit for everybody. Because you know, here's the thing, man, and I'm sure you know this too. The funny thing is the people I help the most uh throughout this journey are the ones that have caught me. Um those are the ones that are the most painful because they know you inside and out, and then they can judge your character. They really do know the truth of what you really care about in who you are, but because you know they're unhappy with you or unhappy with the situation, like you know, several of my relationships in the last couple years, unfortunately, I had to leave them because they weren't feeding me anymore, and I wasn't, you know, I wasn't feeling that it was a long-term deal. I mean, at this point in my life, during about the time 48, you know, I'm looking, it's it's time, dude.
SPEAKER_01It's time to have time. Yeah, it's we don't have it's time we're not gonna get back. We don't have time to waste.
SPEAKER_02But one of the things I'll tell you um in business man is if if if they're not reading books, if I can give them an advice, The Power of One More, Fly in the Wind with Dan Rooney, uh, great, great books, and anything you could do, like when I go to the gym now, you I tend to listen to audibles instead of Metallica and Disturbed because we talk about the RES. So I try to eliminate that music too. I listen to a lot of Christian music um and and a lot of that stuff, and and and stuff that puts me more in a good mood than stuff that's gonna get me angry, and then at the gym, I listen to the audibles and the books, and then I have the content to give these people because a lot of the people that we talk to uh with hammer leads is they're at a low point, right? Or they're at a desperate point. And I gotta be that spark of energy. I gotta I gotta be that light at the end of the tunnel for them because they're like, hey, how do I make more sales? How can I keep my guys busy? And I gotta come in with that confidence and energy because you know as well as I do. I mean, you buy leads, you do marketing, it isn't cheap, but the leads also motivates the salespeople. It gives them a start, it gets their confidence up, and then once their confidence is up, they can go for our for our company in general. You know, we tell our clients go knock the doors next door, you know, go go talk to the neighbors, and it opens up a good opportunity. And that's where the leads has really uh been um great success for me because you know it's not only changing uh the sales rep's life, but it also gives the owner a fighting chance right now.
SPEAKER_01Exactly. You're not you're not just selling leads, but you're teaching them a better way to be able to magnify and multiply those, you know, the five leads you get them. Hey, how do you turn that into from five to twenty without having to pay for all 20? You know what I mean? Rather than most lead companies just like here, take it, you know, they're they're just shoveling leads your way. You're actually trying to help them become successful with those leads that you're providing because ding ding ding, a happy customer that's actually closing deals is gonna keep coming back.
SPEAKER_02That's one of the things we do is we guarantee that the roofs are gonna be at least five years or older. Okay. We guarantee it's in a storm area, we guarantee it's not contracted by another contractor, and then we also guarantee if they don't get on the roof, we replace it. So we've been more than fair. And that's how we've just created almost, I think, 86 testimonials since December, dude. In one of the toughest storm years I've ever seen. But our clients uh, you know, strategize with us, they know we care finally. We're not just trying transactional, you know, we have direct relationships with them, and then we try to move them in a direction where they're going to be successful. If there's no storms, we'll pause the campaign, we'll wait for the storm to hit because then we know the show rate's gonna be like 90%, because a lot of our appointments are set literally the next day, so we know the show rate's 90% the next day. Anything over 48 hours, it drops to like 60% or 40%, and so on and so forth. And then the other problem is you know, guys will run their leads constantly, but if there's no storm and there's no damage, you're just kind of you know setting yourself up for failure. So that's what we learned with uh hammer leads. We created um we created strike force, so when the hail comes out of the sky or a big storm, we'll activate the whole thing in that area, and we're able to fulfill hundreds and hundreds of appointments, students. So it's been really, really good blessing, and I can't be more grateful to God for it and and the people that have actually supported me, which is you know, a big nut, but you don't know who that is because you know a lot of the supporters are quiet. The louder ones are the springer chirpers, you know, that are just I've also learned, dude, just to delete them. You'll get rid of them. They're not gonna do business with you anyways, they're not spending money with you, and if they're just just there to irritate you, you could delete them, or you could keep them on, like Grant Cardone and all the other guys, you know, the haters, you know, banging.
SPEAKER_01Exactly, dude. I I keep them on because the more the more, dude, I love when those people comment. And I and I'll comment to them sometimes, like, you know, they'll say something. I'm like, well, it got you to comment, you know what I mean? You're just helping the algorithm. Keep keep talking it, keep keep it coming, you know what I mean?
SPEAKER_02Like you look at it for me, though, is a little different because I get screenshots and see what this guy's saying about you, and it just starts to weigh on you and and lay you down. I try I'm trying right now to surround myself with positive people, uh successfully. 100%, you know, people that are are are are on the same wavelength as you and understand what they need to do. Because if you look at the people that are, you know, usually putting you down, and then you look at their photos or you look at their Facebook, it's not of God, you know, they're not they're not in the shape that you're in, they're not putting in the dedication, and I think they're just mad at the world. They're not they're not really and and they don't understand that you got there in the same position you, so you can't be mad at them because all that pressure you went through was what created the diamonds for me, especially, because I take that pain, I use it daily to like, hey, I'm never going back to that old Mike Martinez, whoever that dude was 20 years ago that you know was popping bottles and spending money. I'm living a righteous life now, man. I thrive on you know my client's success, the testimonials, and and and and and you know, happy to change lives and happy to to help the community like you do. And and I go, I went and fed the homeless, it was amazing. We we we go to a um uh uh a real rehabilitation center on Saturdays sometimes and donate a bunch of stuff. And you know, the more you can give back at this age and and it it just makes you feel good, dude. And that's 100%, man.
SPEAKER_01100%. You know, I I t I tell people all the time, like, there's a there's a little bit of uh selfishness with giving back, right? Like it's it it really, you know, it's not all uh, you know, it's not all for them, it's for us too, right? Like it makes us feel good, it makes us feel like we're making a difference, you know. It it really is like, dude, our new partnership. Helping homeless, uh employed homeless families uh buy their first house. Like, I love it, man. Now, like literally a portion of all of our revenue is going towards helping homeless families go into the, you know, uh get a new home. You know, we found a mortgage lender that's literally lending off a character rather than credit. Like, it's it's incredible, man. And it just makes me feel good. It makes me feel great. So I so I got involved in that in a little bit.
SPEAKER_02You know, I spoke at Mar-Lago uh to a bunch of the very, very important people. I went to Mar-Lago. Unfortunately, Donald Trump didn't make it that night, but you know, they wanted me to wear a tuxed, and I was like, no way, I'm wearing a hammer shirt. There's no way I'm going to Mar-Lago, not wearing a hammer shirt. So I wear a hammer shirt and a jacket and I wear a hat.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, you look great, dude. Carter, dude. And they all loved it, dude. And then the next day they invited me back to speak, dude. And I didn't know what I was gonna speak about, but I spoke about God. I spoke about running into the fire, you know, letting everything burn so it can be fruitful again. And you know, I got I got I had a great, great experience because then the reason why I got involved in that is I'm part of uh, I don't want to say it's wounded warriors, but it's uh similar to Wounded Warriors. Uh it's with Benjamin, uh he's Donald Trump's faith advisor, and and Meredith Idle and Brooke. And they brought me in and I made a phone call, and I had a contractor. What they do is they build homes for limless veterans, and I'm part of that organization. So that's why I got invited tomorrow because I'll make a phone call and contractors will show up and help out and donate their time or donate their resources to get these limitless veterans in their homes. And so it was a beautiful experience, man. And then it's something that you know pushes you daily to where you can leave an impact uh on people's lives uh and do something more than just for yourself, even though people might be like, oh, you know, he's driving a BMW M4 competition, he's got a role. 86,000 interactions on that post. If we talk about algorithm, that was insane, dude. Because I called my M4 brand new 25, 20, 2025, you know, only add like five, five thousand brand new, and you gotta put like six thousand miles on it before they turn the turbos on with like supercar problems. I gotta grab it. Yes, I remember that. It's not a supercar, you're a loser. I'm like, yeah, what's the difference, dude? Like my car is so cares. I love it. It's fast, it will smoke most. I mean, I will I didn't do it for that. I actually went through a little bit of life crisis. I traded the Esplanade and the BMW uh that I bought for uh um, you know, one of my relationships that just failed. So I was like, dude, I'm just gonna do this for myself. And it was one of the best things I ever did. You know, there's a couple things you wear in watches too. You know, you wear your watch every day, you get in your car every day. Those are what makes you feel good, like your truck and you gotta have that feeling, right? You gotta have that feeling at what point I need to level up. And you know, that that's one of the things that did for me is I try to anchor those levels to where you ain't going, dude.
SPEAKER_01You know, exactly, man. Like, dude, I could have the worst day ever, and the next day I'm focused because dude, I roll over, I'm looking out to the ocean. Like it's almost impossible to have a bad day. Right now, the reason why I work from the beach most days is because I'm on the 10th floor. So I miss calls sometimes. Like, some calls don't come through. I don't want to miss any calls. You know what I mean? Like, I don't, so I'm set up on the beach, right? Like, it's it's great. You know, people and I get so much, I get so many people coming over and talking to me, business owners, all day long because they see me set up working on the beach while they're on vacation, enjoying themselves. They're like, dude, what do you do? And it's uh, you know, it it's it just works all around, man. I'm in a better mood. I'm looking out onto the ocean, there, I'm meeting new people, you know, it's it's great, dude. It's just about sort of putting yourself in in those places that that make you feel good and and put you in the right headspace to to win and to never give up, you know, because you really you can't fail unless you give up. You know what I mean? Like you really can't fail.
SPEAKER_02Exactly. And it's all in your head, you know, you can figure it out. That's why the Beethoven and Mozart's important for me because it helps me meet my level. But also, we know we're talking a little bit about versal business systems because you you've also been kind of creating a relationship with Hammer Leads. And one of the things we're able to do is we're sending you clients. We're we're we're I want to get this. We're we're sending you we're sending you clients um, you know, that can get business funding and finance for the leads because a lot of them are buried in you know bills and and money's tight. But what you've been able to do is you've been able to come in with how many lenders, 120?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, so we've got uh a little over 180 banks and lenders that we work with. Yeah, so I mean, we're trying to get into, you know, there's so operating a business is expensive, right? Like it doesn't matter what it is, whether it's leads, whether it's insurance, hiring, whatever. And uh, you know, a lot of companies would do more things to help their business grow if they had the money to do it. And what they don't realize is like companies like us that have 180 plus relationships can pretty much guarantee, look, if we can't get it done, nobody can, right? Um, so you know, we we always try to, you know, to do whatever we can to not just get them funded, but to get them the best deal possible, because the the cheaper the money, the longer they have to pay it off, you know, the the better it is for them, you know.
SPEAKER_00Um so we we just try to do what's right and then put them in a in a situation uh, you know, in a place to win.
SPEAKER_01Whereas most companies are just trying to get them funded because that's how they make money. We want to build a lifelong relationship with them. So we want them, whatever the money does, we want to help it grow their business because we want to keep doing doing business with them, right? Like it doesn't help, you know, it's really like sure, I can fund somebody, but if they're out of business in six months, like what does that really do for me?
SPEAKER_02You know what I mean? Some of those companies did is put them out of business. That's why we choose to have a line with you because I know you have good intention, you want the best for them. You've gotten already several of my contractors, money, and finance, which helped their business grow and got them out of some sticky situations. So I'm grateful for that. And you know, I'm grateful that you do, and I'm grateful to see you thriving, man, and happy. I appreciate it, dude.
SPEAKER_01I appreciate it, man. I you know, I I uh I I want you to talk a little bit about your uh because you're in great shape right now, right? But not too long ago, didn't you have an accident?
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_01Something happened where you were you weren't able to work out for a while, and you just like dude, the way you bounce back from from some of these things over the last 15 years that I've known you has always motivated the shit out of me, man. Like it really has. And I think more people need to, you know, really follow you and pay attention because it it really like most people sit around and feel sorry for themselves when they're down and out. Um, but man, the way you bounce back bigger and better each time is just, man, it's it's great. It's awesome to see.
SPEAKER_02You know, that's the thing. Like I said, you don't grow in comfortability, you only grow in pain, dude. And uh unfortunately, I think it was like almost four or five years ago now, it was through in a big event. We had Floyd Mayweather there in New Orleans. You know, I met the wrong person, whatever. I don't want to get into details, but I ended up getting spot, uh, you know, blew apart my femur. Uh, I ended up, you know, really getting humbled at that point, you know, with in the gym, you know, within a couple weeks on a walker, then two crutches, then one crutch, then clean. You got shot. When you when you got shot, they said you might never walk again. Was it was that right? Oh, it was it was more like you're never gonna be normal again. And I'm still not. I mean, my leg, my leg is literally an inch and a half shorter than the other. That's why I have all those custom shoes. Yeah, I get it.
SPEAKER_01I get it, bro. My my foot, my foot's the same way.
SPEAKER_02That's a blessing too, because I got the cloud custom guy. They create all those custom shoes, the the shoes I got uh for for Dana White and all the UFC fighters, dude. So that's pretty cool. So it ended up working out because each one of those shoes has a heel in it, so I can walk a lot better. But you know, for a minute I was a little nervous because you can't go to like Disney World, you can't hike mountains anymore. And but anyway, so I ended up uh going through that, and then I I I worked my tail off. I didn't do a lot of the opiates, I can't stand those. I'm not a drug addict, and uh I healed, and then one year later, and I still wasn't really living the most righteous life, I'll admit to that. Like I wasn't as focused as I am now. One year later, the metal failed in my leg, and I had to go redo all the surgery and redo it all over again, and now I'm into like year two and a half, three, and I'm I'm in the best shape of my life. I mean, uh, we we all can be grateful for peptides. Let's call it what it is. Yeah, a hundred percent, dude. Shredded helps me keep my my diet down. I'm I'm eating a lot of basil seeds and chia seeds with protein and really limiting uh my food intake, and I can do that, and I feel so much better, dude. So much better than he just now when I eat garbage food, I can tell my body doesn't move the same. I don't have the stuff. Yeah. And now I'm moving, I'm moving, you know, moving in all different directions. I'm at the gym sometimes twice twice a day, and you know, I'm I'm my legs finally heal. I'm starting to build my legs up again, and you know, it just feels good, man. It feels good.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Yeah, definitely, man. So like the uh, you know, it it's what people don't realize is when you get hurt like that, or like you're you're about to go from being able to run and walk and do whatever you want to not, the mental toll it takes on you is like I had to deal with that. I was like 15. So, like from playing every sport you could possibly imagine to all of a sudden never being able to play sports again, knowing I'm never gonna run, I'm never gonna be able to take long walks, like it's the mental uh toll it takes. And I think it's probably even harder as an adult because you've been doing those things so much longer. Um, you know, to be able to bounce back from that mentally, never mind, physically, is uh, you know, besides obviously giving your, you know, giving your life to God, what else really helps you mentally get get through that?
SPEAKER_02You know, dude, I I think it was built in us, dude. You know, we're we're from a generation where we worked hard, dude. You know, I started out, you know, out of high school in a company called Pro Mark One at 16. I was selling giving away credit cards and cell phones, and then making money, the making money 1-900 lines. That's where the Wolf of Wall Street Real Wolf was, you know. And and so and all the businesses I've had, like I've had the SEO company, I had the uh the the BizOp company, the reload company, I had the merchant service company, as you know, and I've had a lot of companies. And when you own a business, man, you know, there's a lot of pain involved, and you just got to keep getting up because you're not just getting up for you're getting up for your employees, and you know, no one's ever gonna run the business the the better better than you are, no one's gonna care as much as you do. That's one of the things I learned this year is like nobody cares, work harder, you know, nobody cares. Don't don't don't let people see your weaknesses, man. Stay, stay, you know, stay strong. You know, show up, hold yourself accountable, don't let them see your weaknesses, don't let them see your pain. It's not gonna do anything for anybody, dude. It doesn't do anything for anybody except give them reasons of why you're not being successful, why to doubt, right?
SPEAKER_01Exactly. Why to doubt you? That's all it does.
SPEAKER_02You just keep shining, you just keep glowing, dude, and and and you keep pushing along. I mean, that's why we're here. We're here for human experience, we're here for to change lives. And if God wanted me gone, be gone. So for the people that think I'm not of God and God, you know, you know, God is not wanting me here. Well, then why am I still here, dude? Exactly. There's a reason. Boys aren't here anymore. You know, they didn't grow up, unfortunately. Some of them didn't make it as long as I have, and so I cherish every day. I'm grateful for everything. And you know, I want to die the best version of myself, dude. Success, business, uh, spiritually and and and and physical, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yep, yep, absolutely, man. So uh, so Mike, I'm gonna I'm gonna make sure I put all your your different social media links in there, but uh, you know, before we end, tell us a little bit more about Hammer Leads and how the, you know, it's it's all roofing contracts, or or do you do other types of leads now too?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, no, Hammer Leads is all about uh preset appointments, like I said. Okay. For roofing contractors all over the country. We don't do retail, we do strictly storm. Uh, like I said, we we've generated almost 86 testimonials up until this point. We deal with some of the most biggest brands in the country, like Priority Roofing, Pro Exteriors, Quick Roofing, a lot of those guys have trusted in us. Um, and you know, we what we do is we provide an opportunity, um, you know, because you know, telemarketing's got tough over the years. The whitelisting, the spams, the litigators. So we take a lot of that, we eliminate a lot of that from the contractors, and they just show up, man. And if they don't get on the roof, and if it's not in the storm area and it's not contracted, we credit it. We don't fight nickel and dime. We don't, we don't do that. We believe in the relationship between the customer, they believe in us. And if everyone's fair to each other, it works out. It works out well. Um, where it's not doesn't work out is if they try to, you know, you know, call ahead or or whatever, because we have to show up, which they shouldn't pre-judge, they just show up and and it's working. And we mastered the show rank, we mastered strike force, and I can't be more grateful for all the people that have still trusted in us. There's a lot of other lead companies out there, but we care, we have over 40 years experience uh in the business, and and we're getting the proven success because you can talk about success all day long, but if you ain't getting testimonials from your clients and they're not preaching about you and you ain't becoming a household name or someone they can depend on, you're not the brand of business. And that's one of the things that they choose us.
SPEAKER_01Yep, 100%, man. Dude, that's awesome. So uh before we start a recording today, you're saying you wanted to do something for our viewers and our listeners as far as the leads go. If they reach out, they mention the podcast, what what can you do for them?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, anybody that mentions uh, you know, your podcast, Versal Business Podcast, I'll give them two free leads with any package that they purchase from us. Um, you know, we we do that, we we do that to show them that some love and some care. We ask for testimonials. Uh, but you know, we'll we'll change their business, we'll give them some good opportunities. They don't have to worry about, you know, are we not going to give them credits? Are we not going to be fair to them? Are they not going to get an ROI? Because we're more than fair. Um, our our leads are super competitive price-wise. But yeah, anybody that reaches out and they can find me on Facebook too. It's Mike Hammer Martinez. Uh, they can follow me there. It's it's super easy. Instagram, it's uh the same. Um, and anyone that reaches out, and you know, because I know you have a big network too, and a lot of people that need funding, anybody that reaches out will be able to help them out.
SPEAKER_01Yep, awesome, man. Dude, I appreciate your time. I know you're super busy. You're going to the Philippines in less than 12 hours.
SPEAKER_02So, what's going on? I can't believe I'm finally going. I thought I would, I would probably have network meant to, you know. Right, right. This is how God works and he prepares us, man.
SPEAKER_01Definitely, man. It's gonna be incredible, man. I'm so excited for you. I can't wait to see all the pictures, and uh, we'll have to have you on when you get back to talk about that experience, man.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, we'll have to do some events together, but I appreciate you, dude, and God bless. Definitely, man. We'll talk soon.
