SPEAKER_02Um my um there is gone all the way he's a knife and then I ran what else do you got oh Posty's got himself in a pig that was bull yeah just snatches it and they rip his and just the way they're just like oh god oh gosh and like he was saying it's like those skeletons will hunt relentlessly till they bit their end till they bit their end so Paris is gonna have to figure this one out because that's a rough tale to have for almost the rest of the foreseeable future he's got a skeleton force 12 yeah so hopefully he can 12 and yeah hopefully we got some water around yeah he's really gonna have to pull out all the nines on the water yeah this is a this was a thick one yeah it did it did kind of take us some places so what I learned how to grow zombies I was kind of wondering about that yeah it makes sense but now I guess we know dragon teeth and some mysterious red liquid yeah pretty much teeth and it mysterious the red liquid with them is is which I'm assuming is blood is some kind of blood okay but thank you blood it it makes some things it's definitely not Hawaiian pine kind of cool to just plant some fossil teeth yeah pour some chicken blood yeah chicken blood chicken blood quick can you get chicken blood in maybe a ranch market or something me I'm sure maybe yeah maybe anything's available online nowadays yeah but yeah I mean the oh in the general but you know yeah sometimes can be done anything is possible yeah I almost thought he was Aries at first when he rolled in oh yeah very military though yeah the general yeah that kind of suit it seems like a true stud night that little crick in his neck thing yeah huh kicking the niggas ahead the land from the third story you want some Tylenol my Lord heating bad man um okay let's get through this okay so we're flying on Pegasus oh yes because the hunters have taken off in the van uh blackjack comes in and so now Percy is on blackjack and they're tracking yeah trying to follow Zoe and the rest of them on the quest so yeah they're going through the Long Island Expressway it's kind of hard to doubt around in a Pegasus yeah it's cold um it kind of makes sense there's a lot of clouds going on yeah it and it would be chilly of course it's raining right traffic the little nine on the camp half blood orange thermal underwear yeah I would love to pick up some of those great for the winter yeah but yeah they fly in they're following they land on the Chrysler building um you know thinking because Percy doesn't know where they're gonna stop off but yeah it looks like the van keeps going yeah um so you know that she's trying to figure out like okay where are they going? Who's driving? Uh Zoe looks like Zoe's the one driving um Black Jacksy's donut shop. And uh so the van keeps going um and so of course he's like okay well whatever it is let's just let's follow them so they're about to leap off when all of a sudden just vines coming in snake liddings dude yep pins them down oh my gosh just Mr.
SPEAKER_08D just levitating there leaning against going somewhere darling um that's kind of the uh little blackjack like that's the wine dude yeah and apparently Mr. D can speak in pony too because he hears him yeah oh yeah true living in bottle yeah he does not like being called the wine dude don't call Mr.
SPEAKER_02D the wine dude so yeah it's like what are you doing here and he's like well I am the director of camp and we're a camper leaving out without permission so what do you think I'm doing Percy what the French are you doing here Percy Princess Johnson so uh and of course you know bucking back a little bit they're deep frenemies oh and deep way I feel like Percy asks this often and Mr.
SPEAKER_08D kind of spurts the question why do you hate me so much to what is your problem why do you like what did I ever even do to you yeah you're a hero yeah you're a hero so I we might be dialing in on kind of like what Mr.
SPEAKER_02D has against demi bloods. Okay so you're a hero um and so of course but Percy's on his way we don't have time for this uh let me go gotta help my friends um you can see the van like driving away practically but he's you know they're tied up yeah and so then Mr. D kind of goes into the story of this Aradne Ariadne Ariadne yeah princess of Crete liked helping friends helped out Thesius yeah um gave him a ball of yarn to lead him out of the labyrinth okay so he was stuck in the labyrinth yeah little lore yeah little mytha and so then of course it's like well how did he reward her um Percy's just like how can I get that they lived happily ever after right and uh he's just trying to really get out of this whole nine in a big way but Mr. D's got a story to tell and Percy should listen because it kind of has given some good insight into Mr. D, I feel like totally because yeah he kind of goes on to say like yep that's not how it went down he said he was gonna marry her yeah uh took her uh they sailed on his ship to Athens halfway stopped at this island called Naxos and he dumps her poor thing poor baby Lyra just dumps her on the island oh my god so raw dare you Theseus and yeah so I guess heroes can be a little bit bold yeah you know is really what we're getting at here assholes this person's kind of like what does this story even have to do with me right and then comes out like yeah I fell in love with it yeah that's my wife back that's my honey bunny I healed her and nursed her back to health and made her my eternal immortal wife on Olympus.
SPEAKER_08Not bad. And she's waiting even now I've got a hundred years with you fools with my godly wife waiting for me back on Olympus.
SPEAKER_02So it's like yeah of course I hate heroes because they broke my honey bunny's heart and now I've stuck with you guys for a hundred years straight kept away from her okay you guys suck. Okay so and then yeah this whole night of him like wait didn't you weren't you punished because you got in trouble for chasing like a wood nymph kind of skirts around that so that's a story yeah exactly you be bouncing around too Mr.
SPEAKER_08Z. So he's kind of pushing on like oh you heroes never change yeah you're selfish yeah you accuse us gods of being vain but how vain are you heroes selfish ungrateful and and then starts drop dropping these names ask Ariadne Asmedea for that matter ask Zoe yeah I was like oh okay Zoe Squoe which didn't we have the whole little nine about Riptide and Zoe hating Ur was that wasn't that Zoe unky Chiron was saying something it makes sense that Zoe wouldn't even want to travel with that blade.
SPEAKER_02Yeah exactly like what the Ripple interesting so but yeah just like that ripple yeah now Mr D is given I think what he wanted to said what he wanted to say because he starts to unravel him and says get on with it then go on full of friends.
SPEAKER_08And he does say like just like that and what Mr D's like well the prophecy says two of you will die. Yeah hopefully one will be you so uh but live or die you will prove no better than the other here and then just like that he's out that's the mic drop that's raw you will fail Percy yeah exactly you prove no zerk. So uh kind of does scare blackjack a little bit and then they're just on the Chrysler building but yeah just like that they're like alright well let's go gonna buy some donuts. I was kind of wondering yeah there's uh the the copy we're reading yeah uh has the a scene of Chrysler oh and he is wrapped in the vines even got the vines on him whoa that's cool yeah what uh version is that one what year uh what do we get mine has him on blackjack this is the 2007 copy okay this is the 2000 copyright 2007 first paperback edition april two thousand eight yeah mine's two thousand eight too that's what it says there's April or what is it oh yeah in books copyright 2008 yeah I think 2008 yeah maybe they released a few different uh yeah copies of these yeah because this one's almost got like a little embossment because there is a lot of different art forms of these different books it's cool to see all the different styles they put out and everything we got this one at the half price bookstore yeah remember we went uh when we were like okay yeah gotta dive into this I lent my copy oh yes my original copy but yeah but it's cool yes that's a dastardly scene but Mr.
SPEAKER_02D has now a relinquished purse yes he's free so now they're off um they don't get donuts unfortunately because Zoe is driving like a mad woman takes them all the way into Maryland before she finally stops barreling for it barreling to Maryland yeah and of course poor blackjack is just he is running out of steam in a big way yeah so they stop off at a convenience store Percy puts on the invisibility kind of sneaks in uh or he's going to sneak in when Zoe Dahlia Bianca and Groger are bada boom just z din and that kind of worked out because did he even did he know that they were parked there or I don't well yeah because he was following them but did he know that they were at the convenience store oh yeah so he is pretty much following and follows them all the way to Maryland.
SPEAKER_08Yeah but maybe just was on the exact timing. It was kind of like walk out right as we walk way wow woo.
SPEAKER_02Yeah but yeah they're talking um about this tracking spell if Grover did it right of course I did it right um and so this with acorns this was probably yeah some kind of voodoo so it seems like they've been following uh Grover's tracking spell but Zoe's like listen we just need to go west I think we should that's what the prophecy yeah yeah exactly and Thalia is of course you know really poking the bear with Zoe um oh no doubt I think your tracking schools are better they're kind of going back and forth scullying uh the scullion yeah um Grover's just like come on let's just you know come on guys stop what the heck is a scullion yeah so yeah they decide on uh DC that's what Grover yeah that's the best bet so um so yeah they take off and then of course person blackjack are following yeah there's that interesting little zip of Zoe being like oh I've been driving since automobiles were invented because uh Tolly is trying to push on driving yeah so let us get yeah how old is Zoe yeah kind of reflecting on that that is an interesting yeah I mean she's immortal she looks like well under 16 oh yeah and he does say this he refers to it again what did Mr McD been talking about what bad experience had she had with heroes Zoe's got quite the history exactly so but they're getting closer to Washington poor blackjack is just toasted because he's not gonna relinquish it necessarily just tell him I'm I can't do this. Right.
SPEAKER_08But he really is getting pushed to the limit.
SPEAKER_02Yeah so luckily the van's slowing down they cross over the Potomac River into central Washington um and so he tells blackjack to set him down.
SPEAKER_08Yeah he's a little trepidatious about flying around DC and yeah the Washington Monument all that yeah and it kind of makes sense and it is like who knows if radars can pick up mythomagic creatures. Right the the myth blur out radar sensibility yeah exactly it's hard to know hard to know so but yeah he's not gonna make the risk yeah yeah drops off at the Washington Monument van's just a little bit away um parked by the curb and so what and Percy almost sends blackjack back to camp exactly what it looked like go get some rest great yeah so he's just gonna go pure rogue yeah stealth mission so everyone's getting out of the van um and then yeah the four of them trudge off into the wind uh oh and then he sees sees the black sedang the black the dang never threat the black the dang right and the guy who comes out oh I thought this was I was referring to this as the general before but this is actually Dr.
SPEAKER_02Thorne.
SPEAKER_08Yeah this is Dr.
SPEAKER_02Thorne Dr Song comes in he's got that military gray hair buzz cut yeah so and looks like now Percy's putting two and two together like oh shit I think he's been following them the whole time oh yeah and just like that Dr. Thorne is like talks on mobile phone to someone and then he starts going towards the mall towards his friends. You can see okay he is obviously now tracking the friends this is not gonna work right Percy pops the invisibility cap on starts tracking rolling in yeah they get uh he's kind of reasoning like okay if Drone survived then Annabeth must have survived too exactly which is good my dreams are this is for reason this is real yeah this wasn't symbolic and then they get to the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum um where kind of a cool spot yeah I've never seen it before but I look forward to one yeah where I have to track it on the the Percy thing because you know the arch yeah exactly space museum we gotta get to the Smithsonian so yeah Thalia Grover Zoe and uh Bianca go into there and then he's expecting Dr. Thorne to follow them but Dr. Thorne actually goes the other direction to the Museum of Natural History goes in there so then of course he follows Dr.
SPEAKER_08Thorne in it's kind of it's got a sign that says closed for a private event.
SPEAKER_02Yep pirate private and so yeah they kind of go in and then it opens up into this room where there's these this balcony is just packed with monsters packed with monsters and women mortal guards goodness this is quite the cavalcade we're talking right it really is and uh and Luke standing amongst them my gosh and it's kind of talking like Luke is looking a little rough around the edges got that scar on his face looking pretty raw really starting to stand out he's looking gray aged Jenkins yeah almost like a red it's it said like it looks like the scar is being reopened. Yeah unka and then yeah next to him is that dude um all I can see is the knuckles at first right just knuckles sitting in a throne yeah P-I-M-P P-I-M-P is talking the voice is like oh I recognize this voice from the dream okay it's not Kronos it's that other one that kind of rumbles the earth oh the rumbling voice yeah Dr. Thorne is talking to this guy saying that they're here so I guess Thorne has been kind of tracking uh the heroes they're in the Rocket Museum and so gosh it was great relieving some thornery it looks like Dr.
SPEAKER_08Thorn and um Luke are not on good terms. Yeah for whatever reason I'm sure Thorn just has no respect for Luke and vice versa and uh yeah I mean he's kind of just breaking down we got four right right out there yeah breaks him down Talia is able to identify we got Thalia Luke Grover and the hunters yeah and so Luke wants to take him uh the general does know that one with the circlet yep that one so we know that's Zoe.
SPEAKER_02So uh but the general's got a plan um he's got a playmate so the general's got a playmate got a playmate for them he's gonna do want to risk Luke and so then of course Dr. Don't say let me do it of course again he's got a plan so the general stands up we kind of get now a final image of the general we finally see this general suit Wall Street you know huge shoulders just looks like he's a tank yeah a brutal face a living statue don't mess with the general so stiff as a pool yeah berating Thorns Thorne has failed him seems like that's kind of a recurring theme you failed me but regardless because yeah he was originally sent to capture Grover and Bianca and Nico and of course he failed so kind of talking about that whole like you were supposed to um get me one of the children of the big three yeah and you bring me this little daughter of Athena right Thorne was promised revenge apparently so yeah but they're going back and forth general berating him no excuses yeah classic okay so he's gonna oh yeah he dismisses Dr. Thorne talking to Luke we gotta isolate Thalia because the monster is gonna that we're looking for is gonna come to her so it seems like they're all kind of tracking this way. Yeah right the time um and so Luke says Zoe do not speak your name so interesting looks like the general has an issue exactly like I know her do not eat Luke is kind of being straight up like this is gonna be difficult. Yeah so but now we're seeing the general's plan so this is how he's gonna bring the hunters down do you have the teeth these teeth plants them in the circle of dirt in the room um and then uh the guard this little ginny on like the first round of teeth yeah because what we're pouring the the red bubble on you can see it all growing soon and he's getting all it's kind of really like lining up to be this glorious epic moment. Yeah exactly and then it's just like yeah he's giving this whole speech oh it's gonna be the greatest I'm gonna have the greatest we won't even need your army Luke My forces will be unstoppable. Behold, my ultimate killing machine.
SPEAKER_08Lucas kind of even getting his feelings here. Like, what about all my people that I trained? Yeah. He's like, whatever. And they just bear witness to us.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, so and yeah, it's cats, little kittens. Um, and so it turns out that the guy brought the wrong teeth, saber-tooth tiger teeth. Yeah. And so, of course, we got baby saber tooth when the general wanted Tyrannosauri. So go get me the other ones. Oh, yeah, he pretty much tells him, take him. Get out of my sight and never want to see you again to the one servant.
SPEAKER_08Yeah. So servants out. That was kind of kind that he didn't. I thought he was maybe gonna ice him right on the spot.
SPEAKER_02I know.
SPEAKER_08I wonder if we'll see those kittens again.
SPEAKER_02I know. And uh, but yeah, he commands another one to get him the right teeth. Um, we get a little talk about humans and how easily bolted violent.
SPEAKER_08Oh, yeah, exactly. It's like you shouldn't be using mortals, but it's just like, yeah, that was a wild little his take on humans.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_08Weak minded, easily bought and violent. Yeah. That's pretty, that cuts like a knife right there.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. But yeah, the other guy comes in with pointy teeth. Um, so he jumps down that whole jump down from the balcony, just neck I've just been a little stiff lately.
SPEAKER_08Oh my god. Another hot pad.
SPEAKER_02A hot pad. So yeah, he's like, this getting messed up again.
SPEAKER_08I'm gonna do this myself. They he recognizes like they think these are dinosaur teeth, these are dragon teeth.
SPEAKER_01Dragon teeth! We got dragons! Dragons! Anyone dragons?
SPEAKER_08The ancient Cybarists said.
SPEAKER_01The ancient Cybaris. Who's Cyberists? Cyber Cybarus.
SPEAKER_08Cyberians.
SPEAKER_01Cyberians.
SPEAKER_08Have to do some research on the Cyberian teeth.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_08Because I I don't know if uh anybody has seen Jason and the Argonauts from way back when, but that's uh that's that scene. He's he cast some teeth and like those some soldiers come out. So I wonder if it's those same if he if she if that wizard references cyber. Okay. Interesting. Yeah, we'll have to do some digging on it.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_08But yeah, cast these teeth. Yeah. That was great.
SPEAKER_03That was great.
SPEAKER_08And now this time it's actual like soldiers that are bubbling out.
SPEAKER_03Skeleted soldiers.
SPEAKER_08Uh-huh. These things are veritably terrified, like straight zombie, kind of transparent. Yeah. Almost. Well, no, actually, something is uh it's just bubbling, and then we see this scarf get tossed into the game.
SPEAKER_02Uh yeah, yeah. Just the hand, skeletal hand comes out, and then the general calls for the scent, which the Dracon A produces, one of the silvery clots of the hunters. And so then he explains, yeah, once my warriors smell this, they're pretty much gonna hunt the hunters until they're done.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, exactly.
SPEAKER_02And uh so DOS yeah! And just like that, the skeletons pop out from each of the twelve teeth. Um, and yeah, we do get the description of them kind of like uh what oh, they're growing flesh as you watch, gray muscle shirts, yellow eyes, oh flesh transparent.
SPEAKER_08Modern shirts, they almost look like uh like combat modern modern infantry sorts.
SPEAKER_02And you can kind of see their bones shimmering underneath with extra images, kind of cool.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, kinda cool. Pretty sweet scene.
SPEAKER_02It seems like they can also see through invisibility caps, which personal sees as one of them looks at it. Exactly. And just at that instant, the Dracon A tosses the scarf down towards the general. General's like, the ha, yes, listen.
SPEAKER_01Let's give the smuttering to me. And just like that, person's like, I can't, I can't do it. Snatches it out. Interception. It's pussy Jackson.
SPEAKER_02And so that they're all running for it. And uh he's running for the exit, but just as it takes off to run, he hears the rip, and sure enough, that skeleton had grabbed a tear of his shirt and then doesn't even tear chase after him, just like immediately like passes it on to all of them, and now they're all like they're all what would it be, like scent bound to Percy Jackson.
SPEAKER_08They're bloodhound bound, yeah, and down.
SPEAKER_02So that's gonna be interesting because he can lead them away from the hunters, of course, but yeah, how's he gonna get close to anyone he loves without skeletal soldiers?
SPEAKER_08He's gonna have to take care of the skeletal brigade.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, the 12 soldier skeletal arm.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, that's a pretty deep, they're running deep.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_08And especially one Percy. He's gonna need some help. He's definitely got himself in a pickle all to ultimately save these guys. So we shall see because they're they're close by, they're on site, they're at the Smithonian.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, like right next door, yeah.
SPEAKER_08So we got some crazy things of brewing, though. The general's got this big old plan. We don't necessarily know what this other beast is, too.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Yeah, this monster that they're trying to bait, essentially, it sounds like it sounds like everyone's trying to bait this monster and like attract it and hunt it.
SPEAKER_08Yeah. Because uh what did he say? Almost like the monster has got Thalia's sentence. Yes. And the hunters are gonna be taken care of by these guys. So that monster is still potentially still tracking Thalia.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_08And now we got a whole brigade of zombies that are chasing him around. Smithsonian. Smithsonian, baby. We got an adventure ahead of us. Blackjack's out of the picture. Uh, he's got his invisibility cap, but that don't matter.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it sounds like that's not protecting him at all from the skeletal army. He gets out of the door, the door slams shut. So, I mean, at least he's away from anyone that could maybe that the invisibility cap is working on like demigods and such, but yeah, this army is now gonna be after him once again, Jay.
SPEAKER_08Luke's kind of looking pretty rough around the edges.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I wonder what's going on with Luke.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, I wanna know, and it was wild to see the general officially now.
SPEAKER_02Pretty chingo.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, pretty chingon changes.
SPEAKER_02Curious to see there's probably gonna be some cool face-off with him, that's my cook.
SPEAKER_08Oh, yeah, exactly. Battle! Yeah, battle against the general! Send me the battle against the general general.
SPEAKER_01Is it gonna be maybe Percy is gonna battle the general?
SPEAKER_08Is it gonna be maybe? We know he's good for the job. Right, yeah. He's always proven good so far.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, we don't have any other like major. I mean, maybe Zoe Nightshade and Dahlia will take him down.
SPEAKER_08Oh, Zoe? Yeah, because that whole like, I know Zoe. Don't even speak her name. There's uh, yeah, that that twisted there's a bit of a blood view. Yeah, there's a deep uh history to Zoe. Yeah. And I I'm I figure we might figure out a little bit more. Exactly. She just got introduced to this book, so yeah. Interesting. She's she's a lot of cool characters. It's uh it's cool to see these these little references to other um adventures in other Grecian lore to bring up these ceilian dragons. We've got hippocampa abounding. So rich adventures of rich adventures. Because what we're 137 pages in, so yeah. So we really are thicking the ripple.
SPEAKER_02We are thicking the ripple, as they say.
SPEAKER_08Because we know how they like we've got uh few questions still left to be understood, but we know where we're headed.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_08And Percy's in quite the pickle, so we know what our immediate scenario is. How is he gonna shake these skeletons?
SPEAKER_02Right. How is he gonna shake these skeletons? Yeah, we're almost at the halfway point. 312 pages?
SPEAKER_08Oh, three oh, okay.
SPEAKER_03So about a hundred and fifty six yeah, one fifty seven.
SPEAKER_08Okay.
SPEAKER_01Whoa!
SPEAKER_08Yeah. That was chapter nine, so yeah. That was the sweet nine, man.
SPEAKER_02That was a sweet nine.
SPEAKER_08That's good. Percy's so bold.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_08For his friends.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_08Don't they're following my friends.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_08They'll do it, man. Yeah. Alright, well, the adventure continues. Chapter 10 and beyond.
SPEAKER_02Chapter 10, yeah. Is that our like halfway point chapter wise, too? Yeah, 20 chapters.
SPEAKER_08Oh, okay. So we we gnaw.
SPEAKER_02We nab.
SPEAKER_08Not on the nuns.
SPEAKER_02Not on the nine.
SPEAKER_08Not on the nun. Yes, you beautiful people there.
