SPEAKER_00

Naturally talk your shoulders degenerate with the one the only Asian.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, one big over the you know how long it took me to say your name properly.

SPEAKER_00

No, no, I think because when you see it, it don't say like how you pronounce it.

SPEAKER_01

No, I just the Asian, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

But you know in America, it's like you know everybody pronounce words, you know.

SPEAKER_01

I still life.

SPEAKER_00

I still life.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I want Asian still.

SPEAKER_00

One A Shun. But I I I'm not gonna lie to you. I I I I see you have a lot of energy. You know, I like your energy.

SPEAKER_01

Nah, a lot of artists don't have energy, bro. Wonder if I crave any. I crave any. I really I just revive, you know?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. So so a quick question, what made you decide that you want to do music?

SPEAKER_01

It's just that grow around, Tommy Lee, you know, a lot of music. You know, Haitians love music and the culture is basically music and all. So I'm gonna say, let me start writing poems, then start writing my own songs, and then you know writing poems, you said. Yeah, yeah, started writing poems. Wow. Then writing my own songs, then that came along and you know, officially released our first song. Easy.

SPEAKER_00

So a lot of people don't understand how how how much writing a poem could actually help your your your artistry. Yeah, they think it's a jump in and artist thing, you know?

SPEAKER_01

No, so no, because mother knew what me the music, father knew me the music, but still I just that my get for like. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, them them come to Jamaica and fishing and farming, that's the only thing. They know.

SPEAKER_00

So your parents are born Haitian, both. Yeah, brother and father.

SPEAKER_01

My parents and my parents are Haitian, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

No, I I thought like one might have been Jamaican, so they're both Asian. Yeah, they're both Asian. Oh, so you're fluent in Pato?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah. A Jamaica one, man.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, no, I'm talking about as in like Creole.

SPEAKER_01

Creole, no, you know, we can't chat a little bit. Yeah, yeah, just a little.

SPEAKER_00

No, but I'm saying I'm sure I'm sure you could interact with a lot of your fans.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, that just a little bit. You know, can't do a lot. Well, you know.

SPEAKER_00

No, but I know I know sometimes they come to you and start straight one time, and you be like, okay, you pick and choose certain words.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, but how come so so you don't feel like a we should actually learn a little bit more of it now? As you notice how heavy the Haitian population is and the support that they give?

SPEAKER_01

I mean, I'm not much of a talker, you know. I just vibe. I just vibe. Yeah, you know, if Missy one maga group, Yeshana vibe, me I go vibe, we're not speaking.

SPEAKER_00

You know, just vibe, yeah, yeah, yeah. Everything on the one is a vibe, I'm vibe, vibe, I'm vibe, yeah, yeah. No, no, I know Haitian is a vibe. So, as in starting, you know, writing poems and and into music, who was like your first producer that you work with?

SPEAKER_01

Nuts.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah? Yeah, nuts. Uh huh.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. He came along in like 2021 or so, or 2022, yeah, I think. Yeah. You know, he heard a freestyler in my uniform at Cornwall College. And he said, Yo, we need free. We're free. He was kind of skeptic at first. But I know we're you see me. But he's not the only person though who came out and said he wants to work. You know, enough people found out and say, Yo, foul that all this and that. But me, I said, I don't know Kingston. So Kingston. You see me? And the reason why I chose Nuts to work with Nuts is because he he attended Cornwall College as well. You know, he's a past student, you know. And he's mobile based on the Bible ready. He's already a Bible already. Yeah, he's mobile based. You see me? Based in I'm anti copy and everything. Someone say, you know what? I'm young, I'm me young, you want the music, want the music, you know, you look like you see yourself. Just say, alright. We work from there.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. So I I so so I've uh I've noticed, like I've been watching your career, because I pay attention to younger talent. And I see that you actually are a real good promoter of your music. I mean, is no, because a lot of artists don't promote their music, just like you will put out one song and you promote that song until you get you move on to that.

SPEAKER_01

So we have 59 songs we are gonna work it, man.

SPEAKER_00

No, no, no, and I and I give you flowers for that because a lot of artists don't do that. Yeah, yeah. You feel what I'm saying? Yeah, they feel like one post and that's it.

SPEAKER_01

No, sir. I just work because promotion is a bit is basically a part of the pushing the song. You can't just drop a song so and things ain't gonna blow up. You see me.

SPEAKER_00

So quick question. When your when your mother actually saw that you was an artist, what how did she feel? When she because you know she might be like, boy, good at it.

SPEAKER_01

But when she actually seen you in action, I mean when the money comes in, less nice, you know. When the money starts coming, she started work with it. She don't realize it once it's feed we, yeah, isn't me once it make you happy still. Yeah, she cool though.

SPEAKER_00

So how how how was how was uh how was going to school in Jamaica growing up and and and all that?

SPEAKER_01

It wasn't too much, you know just regular, regular, yeah, but school, games room.

SPEAKER_00

What school you went to?

SPEAKER_01

At first Chin Fund primary, then anchovy primary. No, Chin Fan basic school, basic basic school, then Anchovy primary, then Cornwall College, then you know, do I do a year at Anchovy's upper six classes, you know? Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

So you went you went you went full?

SPEAKER_01

Not full.

SPEAKER_00

You know, because when you made it, you made it to school.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Reach part right, man.

SPEAKER_00

So when you when you see some of your schoolmates from school and they see you, it's like a whole vibe.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it's a vibe. Artists! Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I just still in the same neighborhood.

SPEAKER_01

Partially. Partially because work have me up and down, so you know I'm hardly at home.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah. Because sometimes it's hard to be in the same neighborhood still when you reach a certain level of an artist. Yeah, true, true. Cause but man, you know, they're still but I but I feel you, I feel like you reach stardom real quick, and I and and I feel like you're handling it real good too.

SPEAKER_01

Mode say real quick, I just time in, you see me, cause we've been a we've been wanting and we've been weird. And when we get to know, we just take the opportunity and make more opportunity out of it. You see me?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. I I came to that show you had the the the the show by in Jamaica. Which it was it was the same time as the was it Kapari? Kapari, what is it? You did a what was the personal show you had right there in the in um um and oh double wise and gubby came around? That was a vibe, bro. Yeah, vibe, yes. We didn't even tell you. We all just came in there, we was all standing in the crowd, just watching. I think it was me, Mac, and a few others. Yeah, and and we're just sitting up. I'm saying, you but make a farm go ahead. I said, Yeah, yeah, because you know, you know, I try to support, even though you don't pay attention, but it's cool, you know.

SPEAKER_01

They showed they didn't match.

SPEAKER_00

But we pulled up and I say, yo, it was yo, I you put on a great show though. You put on a great show.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, I that may have you know, yeah, Zimmy because I never seen with a band.

SPEAKER_00

That that was that was that was yeah, the band, the band tough, man.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, tough.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, what made you decide to do that though?

SPEAKER_01

What the bands you bands? Yeah, in the they they came up with it. Cause I adapt to anything.

SPEAKER_00

A lot of artists don't do band, especially at your age.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, that are them, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

So that's why I was like, interesting. When I see the band, and I say, Yeah, I said, nah, this is the vibe.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, to be honest, I rather bands, I like the live bands, because you can interpret some other lyrics from other songs, you know, change the tempo and all, you know, without a track or nothing.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Cause then you have more control. Yeah. But when you have the rhythm just running, it's just you have a kind of foul where the rhythm plays. So, so alright, so after that now, I seen that uh you was working on a tour, am I correct? A few little tours are going on. There's a tour coming up soon, right? So, how you how how is the tour life feeling for you? Tour life differently.

SPEAKER_01

Why tiring tired for true, but at work, what I can do? Make us know. Yeah, isn't me it I make money it I make me make money, and it I grow with fan base, you know, some different part of that country where we never touch it. So, you know, yeah, yeah, it makes me make money, it makes me get gain fans and all listeners and everything.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I feel like your fan base is building up real quick too.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah, man.

SPEAKER_00

Real quick.

SPEAKER_01

A life.

SPEAKER_00

It's a life. I just revive. I just revive it. It ain't life, it's what is what you work and get for, bro. Yeah, yeah. But you work for it. Yeah, don't just say it's life. Some people not game, and I'm nothing.

SPEAKER_01

No, because them them them sit on and I wait patiently, but I kind of waste out or this them. Yeah. While you wait for it, I can't go and do some other thing, and you know, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

So out of out of out of kind of like your age group, like you, you kind of like you, yeah, you you link up with certain artists and stuff like that. I mean, like when y'all in Jamaica you're running to each other and stuff like that.

SPEAKER_01

It's where purposes, yes.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah. Because I know when I went to Jamaica the other day, it kind of was weird. Like, you don't really see no artists linking up like they were before. But it's weird to me. Yeah, because it's it's like you you for me, like when I go to Jamaica, like I try to, you know, link with everybody if I could and see who's where and what. Yeah, but like everybody just so segregated. Like, why why you feel it's like that right now?

SPEAKER_01

As me as I can't know, cause I work me, I do. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Me not know how a man feels, I mean, I don't care how a man feels. If I work, I work, we are hurt. You see me. So you know, say if you no link with such man and you see me, I work with such man, and you feel a weird, that means you know I work then.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, I get it, I get it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You see me. Because whatever, yeah, yeah, yeah. Sometimes you get caught up in people's problems for no reason. Yeah, yeah, for no reason. We got you that all the time, you know. But I'm I'm a music person.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

See him. Maria. Maria, that's it. Yeah. And sometimes I don't get right. You're right. Sometimes you don't gotta talk to somebody to like the music. Yeah. So where where where this whistle came from? It's like so unique.

SPEAKER_01

Well, away from it from.

SPEAKER_00

Where the whistle where the whistle cover up?

SPEAKER_01

And somebody may hear whistle, you know, you know, you know, I mean, but still, you see me, we not take it. You know, we just advanced, you know. You see me. I'm just using from that shit and whistle.

SPEAKER_00

No, no, that whistle is like a it's like a signature.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, man, I put man.

SPEAKER_00

You have a few signatures. The the whistle, and when you change your your your voice in the song.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, man, the cadence change. Yo.

SPEAKER_00

Nah.

SPEAKER_01

And a TV TV. You know, I'm gonna adapt to it. So you know, yeah, yeah, yeah. So I don't know why other people have problem with it. I don't know if that's just part of the culture.

SPEAKER_00

I think people just don't don't like to see something progress. Sure, no, they must do. But I ain't gonna lie, because when I saw you, I think I was at uh Juve before, before with the Jamaican Soy. And I saw you, I said, nah, he must be running out of breath a lot of times. Must run out of breath sometimes.

SPEAKER_01

No, sir, we can't surely, you see me.

SPEAKER_00

Uh-huh.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. So when when him now fe tell me or talk to me how to do he, we can't just I'm a visual learner as well, you see me. So I just see down, you know, hear the same way I'm saying. Okay. Yeah. So my job, you see me. First couple of times in a button master the craft. Yeah, you're master.

SPEAKER_00

Nah, nah nah, nah. And I think you did a good job, mastery. Yeah, yeah. Because I hear the delivery in the songs, and I hear how you're moving on the stage. I say, Yeah, man, you have it, man. But the whistle though, and the whistle for me, you know.

SPEAKER_01

A black whistle.

SPEAKER_00

That's a good signature. I know sometimes they probably see and just whistle. Like Comic can go see that, but and the whistle are the thing for me.

SPEAKER_01

Well, if woman could have whistled every day, every day would have year, man.

SPEAKER_00

So so right now, as in you being who you are right now, yeah. How do you feel about how like your career is going? The pace for yourself.

SPEAKER_01

My career is just a vibe. You see me, me a vibe. Any way one go me bringing it if you are going, so me at the end. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, but my career, my career is set.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, as in working with do you work with the outside producers? I didn't I see you work with Mac before.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, he's a handful, you know. Uh you know, like this person with energy. You see?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

So how everybody can't get his ass, you know?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. How's your chemistry with you and Mac? I see the vibe is good when it comes to music.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, Mac Mac understands feminist on and him know the type of rhythm them and the type of vibe of. So you know, but go work with him because him he's willing to work because of music. You see me? I don't know, fronting or nothing but music. Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah. Yeah. And numbers we are doing. Yeah, he told me he said he said, nah, he said he liking with you. He said, he said you understand the thing. Yeah, yeah, yeah. How was it working with Shansea?

SPEAKER_01

Everybody you want to work with, I want vibe. Yeah, Shansea cool, you know, she deliver, may deliver, you know.

SPEAKER_00

That was a good, that was a good record, though.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Song Wicked, man. Because it is is she don't really do too many collabs.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah. So and and catch her up on our good side.

SPEAKER_00

I think she had to, though. Sometimes as an artist, you have to know where certain things you have to do. Because it's not like say Asian is uh a trying, Asian is moving. So it's not like say, so you have to give yourself credit to that.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it's just at the right time, you know.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it's definitely right time, but it's not something that she had to be like, mmm, she had to think about it. It's different when you have to think about it. I don't think she had to think about it. But me and me and her cool, you know. Me and her Libra, so we understand certain certain things, you know what I'm saying? Oh no, I vibe, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. But Max Macbout it I'm saying, Nori. That was the hardest song to get the video done, to do this, to do that.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, because as we said, the timing, you know, we get it before she leaves, she leaves Jamaica, and thank God so we do it before she's that was a blessing, you know.

SPEAKER_00

I'm saying, because it's good to collab with people like that, because you know the fan base is together, show people that, you know, I'm saying great work can be done.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

So and also with governor. Now Govy's a different person.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, man who fight all the time.

SPEAKER_00

But Govy he he he he he he understand the thing.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah. He understand the vibe. Yeah, but he has it.

SPEAKER_00

Any any collabs, any other new collabs coming up? When I hear you hear them, man. What this man?

SPEAKER_01

When I hear you hear them, man. When I hear you hear them, man. Me? Jump EP is who drop.

SPEAKER_00

Oh yeah?

SPEAKER_01

Well, an extended EP.

SPEAKER_00

Extended when that's when that's dropping.

SPEAKER_01

We need to drop maybe early this month, um, next month.

SPEAKER_00

Next month, right?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Or later this month.

SPEAKER_00

Maybe, maybe May. Maybe May is a good time to drop. It's not bad. So you you with any labels or just you independent? For now. For now.

SPEAKER_01

If a label comes through and say, you know, it can work.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, you can always work out. It's always good to have a little label behind you just for like some distribution and stuff like that. It may not be like, you know, big, big thing, but distribution is always cool.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah, yeah. But me like me like distribute my song them for myself. Yeah, yeah, of course. We know where the money comes from and where the money from.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, the why the play comes the money, you know. You know what I'm saying? We know when the money, the money, and the money.

SPEAKER_01

I just uh yeah, a few own things, so you know, keep the circle small, you know. If you this dispersed, like if we want to sell a song, we know if you go to this money and say, yo, link that them if you see if he agree to this art. You see me? Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

No, no, yeah, yeah. How was your vibe with um when you met up with Kodak?

SPEAKER_01

Boy, the vibe that the vibe they did have vibe still, you know. The vibe that didn't have vibe. I see vibe that. You see me, I didn't vibe that. And vibe, I vibe that you see me. We smoke, we chill, we are drinking, you see me, water, you see, yeah. You see me, we are listening to him and him say, yo, we rate that the one day um work, work.

SPEAKER_00

What is it? We have something coming up, something dropping.

SPEAKER_01

No, someone chat too much still. Something fun, something not for see them, when I call up them.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, you man codak. Nah, because when I see nothing, yeah. I was like, yes, yes, you have. Once the vibe is rolling and everybody falling in.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Once the vibe didn't trust me.

SPEAKER_00

Because some people be like, nah, man, I'm you, I'm you them, but when the vibe is there, you know.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

You have a falling, you know. True. So so so you gonna you're gonna ever go back and uh perform in Haiti?

SPEAKER_01

When the time right. When it time, yeah, when it's time right, when it's time right.

SPEAKER_00

Yo, let me get this right up from the time right. I think I think I think Haiti would be a good move. Maybe not right now. When it time, right? Yeah, yeah, because Haiti kind of crazy, right? Yeah, so so let me ask you a question. As in, as in, have you done any any any collabs with any like Haitian artists?

SPEAKER_01

Who?

SPEAKER_00

Any collabs with any Haitian artists, like any not yet. Like uh, say for instance, um I'm just gonna say, I'm just gonna say like carry me or something like that.

SPEAKER_01

Anybody not yet, them not come true yet.

SPEAKER_00

They come true yet.

SPEAKER_01

I'm not running up in a paper business. If they if they see me and say, yo, we work, yeah. But me not go out of my comfort zone and say, Yeah, no, you see me.

SPEAKER_00

That'll be interesting though. I ain't gonna lie, it'd be interesting.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it goes up. Go happen, just yeah. Yeah, go home. I don't know. I think that thing I think Because we must still agree. Yeah. But when whenever the time right and the one vibe we vibe.

SPEAKER_00

But it's good, it's good that you that you understand how it's moving for yourself and and what you want. Yeah, yeah. That's the key, you know. You have to know what you want, you know. Yeah, you can't just it's not what everybody else wants, you know.

SPEAKER_01

So you see me if you set a plan.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah, a plan is very important, and and I think that's where a lot of people lack not having a plan. Yeah, yeah. Plan is very important. And sometimes a lot of things that you see ain't really what you see.

SPEAKER_01

But I tell you, no, you see more well when we freestyle and we say, yeah, alright, we just have to just do it. Yeah. And you work, yeah. We are saying I got make it leave. Yeah, yeah. We're not we don't have no plan, we just have freestyle. Yeah, we just have to go on with the flu.

SPEAKER_00

So you know, something God bless you. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, and and and of course, you know, it's it's it's good that you know you still have your family and your peers and people that support you. Yeah, man, we team key.

SPEAKER_01

I'm a team, I'm a team, make me reach with my reach. Without my team, would I still be hot in Jamaica? But without that mood, they are sat up.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I get it. And I appreciate that because I know we've been trying to get back and forth to to have a sit down for a while. Yeah, and I know it was a it was a rough one, but without There.

SPEAKER_01

We there still. Yeah. Is he them there? Them there. Yeah, them there.

SPEAKER_00

Yes, Julie DJ Nori right here with the one and only Asian. And I appreciate you for passing through, my brother.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, man, respect.

SPEAKER_00

Of course. Always. You know, anytime you know, make sure to send an exclusive with you know with and send them to me.

SPEAKER_01

We know I'm 505, man.

SPEAKER_00

Give my whistle, give my whistle.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. All right, not too much, not too much.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, we're out of here. International talk. But
