SPEAKER_00

International talk. Yours to the DJ Norris side the building. Nefatari and the one, the only America BB. Hey, UK fam. What up, BB?

SPEAKER_03

I'm good. How are you?

SPEAKER_00

Man, good to see you. Good to see you, man. I feel good energy with you in the build. Yeah. I feel good energy. I feel like I met you already before, but I don't know why.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, you have that familiar face, that familiar energy. Oh, that's so good.

SPEAKER_00

Anybody ever told you that before?

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I can't lie.

SPEAKER_03

I can't lie. Now it's not a special moment, though.

SPEAKER_00

We're gonna spend it all special for a minute.

SPEAKER_02

Like we're gonna have to find out what your sign is. It might maybe it's like a zodiac sign. Yes. We're gonna get into it though. It might be a zodiac sign thing. What is your sign? Passies. When is that? March.

SPEAKER_00

March.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, okay.

SPEAKER_00

Why didn't we come across a lot of March?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I don't either.

SPEAKER_00

No, yeah, like March what, 20 something?

SPEAKER_03

No, March 2nd. March 2nd, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

No. That's crazy. My brother's March 27th. My mom. Like, I don't know. Nobody in March.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I that is so good, you know. You know, if this was the UK, everyone would be just going crazy right now.

SPEAKER_00

Yo. That's weird. Pisces.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, okay. We got Pisces in the building. I think this might be the first for the podcast. Isn't it? A Pisces, yeah, everything. You know what I mean? London, you know, Pisces in it.

SPEAKER_00

So um I see you have like a tour going on.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And uh when did the tour start?

SPEAKER_03

Um it started on the 22nd, but officially on the 28th.

SPEAKER_00

29th of May.

SPEAKER_03

No, 28th of May. So I have Toronto, 28th, New York, 29th, 5th.

SPEAKER_00

New York the 29th. Yeah, yeah. Come on, you guys, you gotta put a little more bassy aboard. New York. When you're in New York, I'm in New York the 29th.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, New York the 29th. Yeah, okay.

SPEAKER_00

That's gonna be SOBs.

SPEAKER_02

That's at SOBs. SOBs, yeah. That's right.

SPEAKER_00

Are we pulling up?

SPEAKER_02

Yep. SOBs is the dose. No, I'm definitely, we could pull up. That's like I feel like SOBs is like you're solidified. You know, industry where you perform Yeah, yeah. It's a very like legendary spot.

SPEAKER_00

I think like every artist, it doesn't matter. The caliber of artists have touched SOBs.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. So what do you do? Is it a live band or is it DJ set?

SPEAKER_03

DJ set, nice live band rendition. So it's like the music is not just MP3. So it's my band always into MP3. You recorded the band. Yeah, okay, okay, that's dope.

SPEAKER_00

It's like a some kind of TV tracks and stuff like that. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So that means it's gonna give that live band.

SPEAKER_03

It's gonna give the live band, like you're gonna do that where's the band that you can't see. Right, right, right, right.

SPEAKER_00

So is the tour promoting the new album or just yeah, kind of. Kind of, right?

SPEAKER_03

Kind of, yeah, because I don't even know how to say it. It was like June, the last show, and that's in LA, around that time is when the heat for the new project. Oh, okay, yeah, yeah, yeah. That makes sense.

SPEAKER_00

That makes sense. Yeah. But are you gonna perform songs at least on the book? Yeah, because you have to. It seems like you have a nice, a nice fan base.

SPEAKER_03

I do, yeah. I do. I didn't think I had that many. Yeah, yeah, because obviously, you know when not to be no, I'm not small-minded, but you know, when you're so used to performing in London and like Europe, you don't really like I don't really think outside the box, but obviously the music's pushed me to I've seen like the reception, so you you it seemed like you actually are focused on what you're doing.

SPEAKER_00

You have a lot of good songs.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, thank you.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, you like a song. I you know, I had to do my little research and skim through them and listen to them.

SPEAKER_04

I was like, okay, I'll probably be me.

SPEAKER_02

So what do you consider yourself? Like a singer or a rapper or sing J or Sing J, what's sing J? Sing J. Okay. Oh, what's sing J? Yeah, what's that? It's like a Jamaican term for like almost like the middle, almost like you know what it is? It's like sing J to me is like a Jamaican drink. Like it's not a rapper. Seriously, it's not rapping, but it's not singing, like it's a Jamaican term for somewhere in between there. We just say that normal.

SPEAKER_03

I don't know. I don't know. I just say I'm a singer. Singer. Just yeah, I just sing. I don't rap. I could, but me not up on that. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Because the flow, the flow is kind of like, yeah, it's not singing like it's just flowing in it.

SPEAKER_03

Like melodic, melodic flowing. Right, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it's a good flow.

SPEAKER_03

But when I'm ready to put on the voice and sing, sing that. Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

You feel rap? I don't feel rap though. I don't I don't know.

SPEAKER_02

It's not like hardcore rap, but it's not it's like Drake, right? Like it's kind of like would you call Drake? Everything is a Drake, I mean, they call him Drake. Okay, so he has a he this is a Drake uh stand right here, by the way. We got a Drake stand right here, and he loves Drake. Yeah, he's I'm opposed to Drake. I love Drake.

SPEAKER_00

Nah, we all Drake is like Drake, that's what you want to keep in the move.

SPEAKER_02

But I'm saying though, like that's what your flow is like. You think so? Yeah, I think so. It's like you know, it's not singing like Whitney Houston singing.

SPEAKER_03

Nah, there's not no ballads and you went Jamaican.

SPEAKER_00

Jamaican just that Whitney Houston is.

SPEAKER_02

Whitney Houston Jamaica, Jamaica's person that they love is like Celine. Celine. Right!

SPEAKER_00

She knows Celine, of course. Don't make this young face fool. She knows the thing, you know. She knows the thing. The goat for the culture.

SPEAKER_03

That's the goat for the culture. Like the goal in between. Yeah, Celine.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. But but who who inspired you to give you this style that you have right there? Like, what inspired you?

SPEAKER_03

To be honest, like the type of music that I listen to is literally 90. It's RB. It's always like, it's not even one idea. Like when I listened to I'm listening to Cut Clothes and them type of groups, yeah. But really, when COVID hit, I was before COVID hit, I was just I was literally doing the singing at R B strictly. It wasn't any dance or nothing. COVID hit and boredom hit me too. So I was just in my room bored, boredom, my 30s, it was peak. In my room bored, didn't know what to do, but at the same time, I was doing like mashups. So like I was mixing like Dexter Dap mash-ups over instrumentals and stuff, and then obviously that just started blowing and it kind of just made sense in the moment.

SPEAKER_00

Like it wasn't supposed to be a very country, the Dexter Daban was kind of fire, though.

SPEAKER_03

Trust me, that's a weird how this passed me fine. Any excuse to use that fanware.

SPEAKER_00

No, but the Dexter Dabbles it was it was had a vibe.

SPEAKER_03

Literally, from that that mashup, I just wanted to experiment more. So I would say, like, in that time it was Dexter. I was listening to Dexter a lot, a lot, a lot, a lot, a lot. Because he's he's somebody in the in the in the culture that sings, but is foul with it, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And metal me phobe, so it's like when I'm listening to him, it's like not to cut you, but you could have used Dexter as an example.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Just so you know, just instead of an East then, instead of with East, instead of an EV stuff.

SPEAKER_02

She got but no Dexter is a good example. Yeah, but I go where you meant for yes.

SPEAKER_00

But you I'm just saying you could have used Dexter. Just all.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, what you got against Whitney? No, I don't.

SPEAKER_00

I'm just saying you know, but you see, like, I know she did the Dexter, the mashup. No, and I was like, yo, yeah, he's called. She kind of roasted that back. I was like, yo. He's COVID. But you know, yeah. But like, so so COVID gave you that. Well, yeah, COVID gave a lot of us a lot of stuff to do.

SPEAKER_03

Hella ideas.

SPEAKER_00

Yo. Well, what you did in COVID?

SPEAKER_02

COVID, I mean, I was doing probably like makeup stuff. I feel like COVID, people were like reassessing life too. Yeah. You know? That's right.

SPEAKER_00

I was just online playing music like an idiot every day.

SPEAKER_02

I know mad people were doing that. Yeah, a lot of people need to like. Yeah, it was like clubhouse days. Yeah. You know, you remember Clubhouse?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah, for like two seconds.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah, it was like two seconds. But yeah.

SPEAKER_00

How'd you hook up with Silly Bay? Uh hook up or you just sent the song and he did it.

SPEAKER_03

No, so basically it's so weird. It's like, you see, Jamaica's big but it's small. Do you know what I mean? So it was like I had the song Funds, and no, basically Fonz was it was um I went with Dre Sko, so I did the it was the first time I came here in the States. It was like how many years ago? How many years ago? I don't know. Five years ago. I don't know. But anyway, sometime I came here and Dre Sko was here, and we just literally done back-to-back sessions for like five days straight. So we made like seven songs, and then me I'm kind of well, now I'm a perfectionist but before I would have thought all them songs are good, now we're not listening to that. So it's like funds, and there was another song, and then he was just like, We need a feature for funds, we need a feature for funds. And the only person that I swear that came to my head was Skilly. So when I said Skilly, he was like, Yeah, but then he said somebody else. I can't remember what he said, but I don't think I was feeling that. So then I just I think I shouted to Skilly, I was just like, Oh yeah, like I'm from the UK, I got one song, I think it was sound sick on it. And then he was just like, I sent it to me. I sent it to him, and then like two weeks later, he sent me back the verse. No way, just like I swear to you, he sent me back the verse, then he was like, Yeah, come to Jamaica.

SPEAKER_00

I said, Come on, in it, yeah, you were lucky, literally, like because you sending him that song at that time, his songs was hot going off. Going off. So for him to answer you, yeah, going off. Any like, you know, where it was like, okay, yeah, he's building that man's songs was hot.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, he was gone. He was literally gone. So when we done that, I literally flew to Jamaica like three weeks later. Got like a team, shot a video, he came to the video, yeah, bought out the bikes, bought out one bag of man. It was crazy, crazy, crazy, and literally like he just was just showing me the rounds and everything. Like a little sister, he's like my big brother. Yeah, so now he's just like he plays big brother. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

He's a good guy, bro. So when I seen that, I was like, I kind of seen how the connection could have happened, but I was just curious, like, yeah, no, literally just a text message.

SPEAKER_03

But you did it yourself.

SPEAKER_00

Nah, that's what's up.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, sometimes you gotta like because sometimes when it comes through like like labels or whatever, like they won't respond. I find that sometimes if you just shout out artists, they're ever gonna mess with you or nothing like between literally.

SPEAKER_00

Because you know, first first first you artists do the interview, first y'all look to see who it is, and then y'all go through their page and y'all say, Alright, cool, yeah, whatever.

unknown

You know what I mean?

SPEAKER_03

Like, wait, you just got a yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

So then, so that what when was that record exactly? That was 20, what, 20?

SPEAKER_03

21, 22?

SPEAKER_00

22. When was the stone boy one?

SPEAKER_03

23.

SPEAKER_00

23.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, stone boy twenty three.

SPEAKER_00

So how do you end up in Ghana now? I've never been to Ghana. We went to Jamaica, so now I'm talking about music now. Oh, so now we're in Ghana. So how we end up in Ghana?

SPEAKER_03

Basically, I don't know. I think Stone shouted me, but I think we kind of had like a relationship before, like, on we just used to like he used to like my stuff. I used to like his stuff, I used to report each other.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, you know what I mean?

SPEAKER_03

Like we just used to interact with each other a lot. And then he was in London, he was in London, and I was shooting, so there was uh Amazon Prime uh movie that adapted called Jungle, and his producers were the uh producers of the that showed afterward and that show as well. So we done that and then his his producer was just like, Oh my god I got a session store. He was like, Yeah, pull up. So let me pull up. He was just like Amma. He just kept saying Amma, Amma, Amma. He's forgetting the real. That is your name, that is what I'm calling you for the rest of the day. Amma. She's like, Oh my, that's your name. He was like, Oh, I got a song. I think we'll go crazy on it. Recorded a song, and he was just like, Yeah, now any time we're gonna be fine, but we didn't drop it for a time. So we had that song, let's say we made that song like 2022, and then we dropped that like 2020 because he wanted to drop it with his album.

SPEAKER_00

That's how music is. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So that's how music is. It's not really like no time.

SPEAKER_03

Literally, literally, I thought he was just gonna he just wanted a session before then he asked me. He was like, Yeah, I wanna play on the album, da da da. But then we had a show and then a show, and it actually was dope.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. So have you seen like differences in the music industry from like UK and here US? Yeah, definitely.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I feel like the UK, it's so sad to say, but the UK they don't clock on until you guys clock on. So, like, there's like take for instance, like Odil. They wasn't, they weren't the UK wasn't putting Odil on. As soon as he came over here and he flew, the UK wanted to put him back and they couldn't. So they don't clock on, like they wait until you leave. Like Papa somewhere else, and then oh no, she's from here, she's from here, they want to gatekeep you. That's what they do. The UK is just a big gatekeeper.

SPEAKER_02

Like you're always celebrated outside of your home, your home, no, for sure. It's the truth.

SPEAKER_03

I I definitely I feel like over here, like since I've been here, it's nothing but like proper love. Like they actually, you guys are actually interested. Over there, they're interested for the minute, and then once you're done, the next one in line. Even on like UK radio. I don't even mean to like be like this, you know UK, I love you guys, but it's just the truth. Like radio, you won't have you have American music more than you have UK, UK music, and it doesn't make no sense in the UK in the UK you have more American music than you have British music.

SPEAKER_02

Wow, that's crazy.

SPEAKER_03

This is why no one plays the radio, everyone got blue teeth.

SPEAKER_00

You think it's because the the uh the guys over there see too much drill music? Is it no? I don't even think is a a balance where like we don't want that on our radio?

SPEAKER_03

No, not even because like there's only a fair share of people in the UK that listen to like not a fair share, there's a lot of people that listen to there's a lot of people that listen to all kinds of music in the UK, but there's uh like let's say like I'm from East London, so East London and South London, when they have like proper uh UK artists that's from their their hood, like from East London, say from Hutney, they won't want to hear you on radio. Like they wanna hear, they wanna they wanna hear more UK people than um American people on the radio. But I just feel like it should anyway because we're from here. We should like wanna like they only do it like when I was saying about the dance wall, they only play danceful after certain hours. Like they won't have danceful running through the day. Or do you get like a a commercial dance roll like Murder Shiro or something?

SPEAKER_00

I think that's everywhere though. That commercial thing runs like everything.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, but that's like that's the most you will get. You ain't hearing all skilly or you ain't hearing skipper or none of that until after 8 p.m. Literally. I don't know why.

SPEAKER_00

Sweet. That's the part of I realize the music that is the same everywhere. Yeah, it's like that here too. Just now we have more like HD3 stations and stuff like that. But we uh I you're right. Everything is always after hours.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, it's always after hours. Like what?

SPEAKER_00

When you come to Caribbean, it's always after hours. That makes no sense. We're at nighttime flex.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, no, for sure. Like it's nighttime flex. It's crazy.

SPEAKER_02

One thing I will say about the UK though, uh, I had gone like some years ago, I had gone and I went to um at this time, I feel like it was probably like five, six years ago. I feel like they were really good at you had like a couple of people, a couple of female artists that were doing really, really well there. And I feel like female artists weren't as popular at that time as they were right now, like in the US, like right now, female artists are hot, like Lotto, Megan, all of that. But in the UK, I do feel like the female artists there were, you know, they were popping. They were like taking seriously. You had like a good amount of people. There was like Steph London, there was um Miss, I'm blanking on her name now. You probably know who I'm talking about. I'm gonna I'll tell you her name. But there were a lot of female artists that were doing well. How do you feel about like the state of female rap or artists, you know, in the world?

SPEAKER_03

I feel like I feel like in the UK, the female artists, there's not, you know what, to be fair, there is a lot. Yeah, but they don't get the recognition. And I don't know why that is, because some females can some female artists in the UK blow up every single day on an app. So like the numbers and everything's there, but again, like they don't get the time of day. I don't know, radio play, I don't know, festivals, like they just won't get put on. I feel like is what they're used to. Whatever you're familiar with over there is what they're gonna bring back. Like it's quite repetitive over there. They don't wanna they don't wanna bust you until you're bust somewhere else. Why for the busting? But you know what my say you know my say but yeah, like until you're you're popping elsewhere. I don't know, they won't look into you. I don't know why that is, especially for females as well, because there's a lot of but there's a lot of male artists over in the UK as well. So you have to think, and is is annoying to say, but males get the more most attention, do you get it? So it's like you is hit and miss.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Like you have to be able to maintain that hit that you got. If you can't, then I swear you don't sweep out on the carpet.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. So how do you feel about because especially, you know, you I feel like do you think that they're receptive to different types of female artists? Because you know that there's usually like a stereotype of females, they have to look a certain way, they gotta be singing about certain things. They have to, you know what I'm saying? Very like vulgar sometimes is the only way they're accepted. And I love your image because you're sort of the opposite of that. You know what I mean? No, no, no. You know what I'm saying? Do you do you think do you think that they are like how have you been navigating that, you know, as somebody, you know, who um is a female artist but not necessarily looking like that stereotypical look? And are they, you think the industry is receptive to that? Because it's like we haven't had that in the US since probably like Lauren Hill. You know what I'm saying? In terms of somebody who doesn't dress like that and who is, you know, popular.

SPEAKER_03

I think it's like it's a barrier. There's a barrier with the states in the UK because like in the states, it's okay to do it. Like it's okay to dress with the RCA titties out and doing what you want to do. But in the UK, you'll get looked at sideways. Even dress like that? You'll get looked at sideways because there will always it will always the UK's bad vibes, like there'll always be a comparison, like, oh, she's trying to be like this person, she's trying to be American and she's she's not rapping in an English accent, she wants to be American so bad. Like, there's always nobody ever branches like that that way because of the stigma behind it, about how much they're gonna get, like the backlash they're gonna get behind it. Over over in the States, you can do it in free, like because yeah, pop your clock, the T or whatever them say, like you know I'm saying that it's fine to do so, but in the UK, in the UK, you can nah man, you have to keep reaching odd, you know, or even like a clean girl aesthetic that that works. That that's like the most that works when it comes to like RSG. Like your tits and that is not really out, but you look good, you look clean, like you know, the gesture. I don't know, the clean girl aesthetics, whatever that aesthetic is, yeah, that will work in the UK, but yeah, I don't know, like people in the UK are haters. They're just haters. So if someone was good enough and literally you would apply your your US password.

SPEAKER_01

But they are haters, like they wouldn't agree with me, they would agree with me.

SPEAKER_03

Someone could be so good and and do and do like and and do like a lot of look or a JT look, and some will get it, but the majority won't. That's how it is. Literally.

SPEAKER_00

I get it, it makes it make sense. I think a lot of places, but the way you express it, yeah. So I'm I'm saying, like, say, for instance, I'm just gonna use her, for example. It's like an Adele.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Everyone would look like that. That oh my not really look like Adele because

SPEAKER_03

Look at Little Sims. Little Sims to me, she's the biggest biggest female uh to come out of the UK right now. Like she's tearing up arenas, tearing up stadiums. Like, well, that means like she's doing like a really good job. Like selling out shows and that. You know what I mean? So like and she's and she's nowhere near an Adele. She's a rapper, but she's spitting real stuff. Do you understand?

SPEAKER_00

And like a lot of people who you said though?

SPEAKER_03

Little Sims. Little Sims. Little Sims, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

You heard of Lil Sims before?

SPEAKER_03

I have, yeah. Thank you. Because I know he's doing that.

SPEAKER_00

He's doing that thing.

SPEAKER_01

Don't do that thing.

SPEAKER_00

I have heard of her.

SPEAKER_01

I'm not lying. You've heard of her name. Yes, I have.

SPEAKER_00

Give me one of her songs.

SPEAKER_01

I have heard of her. Wait, I couldn't even tell you one of her things. No, but she didn't know.

SPEAKER_00

Terrible shit. You haven't even holding down each other in the game. And you don't want me to hold your name? She just shouted her out.

SPEAKER_01

She just shouted her out.

SPEAKER_03

But yeah. And then when it was him, that's what they want. The lot, yeah. That's not happening off. The lot look, that's not happening in the UK, man. They're gonna look at you sideways. I swear to you.

SPEAKER_02

That's so interesting. I didn't know that.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Trust me. They're haters. Oh no. It's the people.

SPEAKER_00

So you're like a mix then of Guinese and Jamaican.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Father, mother.

SPEAKER_03

Dad's Jamaica, mom's Ghanese.

SPEAKER_00

Which side you catered to most?

SPEAKER_02

I was gonna ask, but I didn't want to start a war. And that's what you say. It ain't a war.

SPEAKER_00

It is what it is. Which one? Which one?

SPEAKER_03

Oh, easy, easy answer.

SPEAKER_00

Easy answer.

SPEAKER_03

It's easy. But what do you mean but I like both, isn't it?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, you can like both, but what, you know, which one you cater to better?

SPEAKER_02

This is so dark, man. I mean, to be honest, you kind of sing in Jamaica, you know. Yeah, but that's but that's phenomenal.

SPEAKER_00

Now you got now you got her back.

SPEAKER_02

No, I'm sorry, I'm saying I feel like you well, she wants to, you wanna be 50-50, you're saying right now. She's that's okay, cool.

SPEAKER_03

Nah, cool. Oh my dad's head. My dad's head.

SPEAKER_04

It is what it is.

SPEAKER_03

It is my dad's side, but you know, like my mom's side is gang as well. Like, I love them. But not the oddies, man. You know how guys, yeah, it's the truth. Have you been to Guyana?

SPEAKER_00

Good question.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I have, yeah. I never I haven't been yet. No, but I was when I was younger.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

I need to go back like now. Yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Guyana's real poppin' right now, too.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Real popping. You need to go back. You probably had a fan base out there too. Yes, I'm gonna be able to do it for me. For me, no, you probably like she guys, boy. Yeah, boy. Yeah, boy. What are we about to do?

SPEAKER_02

Actually, no, Dory has a lot of Guyanese friends.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Holy between the Kooley and the and the and the Douglas. You do. Come on, fam.

SPEAKER_01

He said, Top way. You got the acid dumb hat. Come on.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah. So so you you write majority of your own songs?

SPEAKER_03

I write all my songs.

SPEAKER_00

All of them?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, all of them.

SPEAKER_00

How many songs you did you have right now?

SPEAKER_03

In my archive. Over a thousand.

SPEAKER_00

Over a thousand?

SPEAKER_03

Over more than a thousand.

SPEAKER_00

Because I was searching. When I was searching, I was I was scrolling and scrolling. I was like, shit, a lot of songs.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I got more. But thousands even. I'm just gonna.

SPEAKER_00

What surprised you when you write?

SPEAKER_03

Everyday life. I'm telling you, I swear to you, my life is a movie. And if I had a cat to say too much, yeah, but I swear to you, my life's a movie. Like every day, something mad happens. Like every day, even today. I'm on the I'm in the in the Tesla. The cyber the what do you guys call it? Cyber Cyberchucks.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, Cybertruck.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, Cybertruck is like he's driving and he's trying to cut the Tesla to try to cut the Tesla. Tesla's cutting him back. They're cutting each other. I'm thinking I'm on a roller coaster. Like, what I'm saying, bro, I'm from London, just calm down. Like these are not my streets. Like I got somewhere to go. Everyday life, like something always happened. If I had a camera crew with me, I mostly wouldn't even need to sing. I'll make money off of my life, off of my life. I'm certain. I'm gonna start streaming, watch. You stream? I am streaming 100%.

SPEAKER_00

I'm telling you.

SPEAKER_03

I'm telling you. Oh, it's mad, it's mental. But yeah, everyday life. But I write every single thing. Everything. All my songs.

SPEAKER_00

What was your biggest collab?

SPEAKER_03

My biggest collab.

SPEAKER_00

The biggest collab that you feel you did.

SPEAKER_03

Um was your favorite?

SPEAKER_00

I'm gonna give you a favorite. What's your favorite?

SPEAKER_03

My favorite collab. It's coming out, can I say? Yeah. I think so far off of my new project comes to like um Leanne. She's from Little Mix. So that song like it's crazy. Like super crazy. Yeah. Oh my gosh. When is that dropping? Can I say June 26th? Oh yeah, June 26th. So that's when like the whole project drops. Come to like project, June 26th. But that song, Clojure.

SPEAKER_00

So you're gonna drop like one one song as you go, or you just gonna drop the whole project?

SPEAKER_03

No, whole project 26th.

SPEAKER_00

But you got like one or two songs out, man.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, then I'm gonna drop May fam.

SPEAKER_00

Like, come on.

SPEAKER_02

You need to come to London. We should get some words up here in the editing of like fam. You need to come. You might have said something before. We knew it though. Oh tearing up. Tearing up. But we say that. Tearing up the day. We say that. Okay, cool. In it. We're gonna have in it up there. The meaning.

SPEAKER_00

Have you listened to some of her songs?

SPEAKER_02

Yes. I just I told you I was on her IG page.

SPEAKER_00

What kind of vibe she gave you?

SPEAKER_02

It's like a Jamaican dage loaf. Dage loaf?

SPEAKER_01

Is it? Why are you laughing? Jamaican drink. Jamaican drink. Yeah, make it low, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

That was a good save.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, that one is nice.

SPEAKER_00

The save.

SPEAKER_01

I'm like the Jamaican drink. That was a good save.

SPEAKER_00

Because that right there.

SPEAKER_01

I like the Jamaican drink.

SPEAKER_00

I was just gonna let you ride with RB. Huh? Because she definitely gives like an RB vibe. Like a 90s, you know, RB vibe.

SPEAKER_02

But it's not, but it's but it's not like you said, it's like the flow though, it's like it's not as slow as RB. Like to me at least, it's it's a bit more you know, like my my new stuff, because the stuff that's out, that's like RB and danceful.

SPEAKER_03

So the last project that I just put up, break me off. That's like more RB. And then the next project comes to light, that's like strictly RB, like no dance rule at all. Like strictly. Yeah. So when that's out, you I wanna know. Okay, okay.

SPEAKER_02

I'm gonna be like, okay, this is a different, yeah, flow. Yeah, like completely. Yeah, completely.

SPEAKER_00

You saved yourself quick though. That last one was quick. Jamaican. I like that. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Jamaican. That's one of those. No, you know what? After I had said, I was like, when you were talking, I was like, you know who she's like? Dage Lowe. I wasn't saying that. I was like, that's who it is, Dage Lowe. That's full. You're talking about like the flow. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. And like the singing thing.

SPEAKER_00

She taught. So so you got that um break me off single?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Break me off.

SPEAKER_00

What inspired that?

SPEAKER_03

Um.

SPEAKER_00

So you're driving in the bridge fell off? Like some the bridge collapse? Bridge spam.

SPEAKER_02

You know Oh Lord, everything is spam now.

SPEAKER_03

You see what you're driving for? So, like, you know, Nelson, 15 minutes. Not even I scroll. Oh my god, it's 15 minutes. I don't wanna get ain't no time.

SPEAKER_00

Can you speak up, fam? I can't hear you.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, ain't got no time to talk. We just said it on. Oh I got it's 15 minutes. I don't wanna you are from here. How do you not know that? Who is it? No, no, no, no, singing it. I'm like, who is that?

SPEAKER_00

Who's that?

SPEAKER_03

That's really bad. Who is it? No, that's really, really, really. You're saying I don't know Lil Sims songs. You don't even know your own people, so um Nelson.

SPEAKER_00

Nelson?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, Merk Nelson.

SPEAKER_00

Who's Nelson?

SPEAKER_03

Who?

SPEAKER_00

You know Nelson?

SPEAKER_03

Who's Nelson? Nah, guys, that's really you probably saying the wrong name, bro. Yeah, maybe it's my pronunciation.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, because I'm like Nelson. Mandela? Like, I don't know.

SPEAKER_03

This guy is guy.

SPEAKER_00

You definitely gotta pull this song up because it's in your playlist.

SPEAKER_03

Mark Nelson.

SPEAKER_00

Mark Nelson.

SPEAKER_03

Are you not Herring the Mark? We're not here in the mark. I knew you said something before the.

SPEAKER_00

This song is 18 years old. Who's remembering this, though? Is she serious? I was about to, I'm like that. She would have given you something like five years.

SPEAKER_02

18 years? It sounds for both.

SPEAKER_00

I could barely remember what I had for breakfast, bro.

SPEAKER_02

Singing it.

SPEAKER_00

She gives you that old school RB fly. You know what I'm saying? She definitely gives you. That's why I get it. That's why I could tell, I could tell like a lot of your music is it's a lot of music.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, so obviously I just bit a soul. His hook.

SPEAKER_00

You have a lot of soul in your music.

SPEAKER_03

So thank you. I appreciate it.

SPEAKER_00

You know, that's probably that's that's probably what you're Jamaican roots. You know, Jamaican people are very passionate with slow jams and RB.

SPEAKER_03

For sure.

SPEAKER_00

They portray that gangster thing, but maybe all soft people on the other side.

SPEAKER_03

Remember, they love selling the on bad.

SPEAKER_00

You got something to say about that?

SPEAKER_03

No.

SPEAKER_00

Well, sounds about right, right?

SPEAKER_03

Not at all.

SPEAKER_00

They love that gangster thing, you know. Gangsta, but catch them one away. No, my you're good, man. Yeah. Yeah, but all right, man, no worries. Just don't do it again, man. Oh, God. So alright, so what kind of heat we got coming for this for the show coming up? Because uh SOBs, it's not a it's it's a world-renowned venue. The best have been there and the worst. Yes, we've seen some tragedies in there.

SPEAKER_03

Anyone from the UK perform that? I mean, I'm sure they have.

SPEAKER_00

Hey, have I have I seen anybody in the UK now? I haven't seen anyone from the UK yet.

SPEAKER_02

But I'm sure it has it's like a legendary spot. Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I think everybody hit that.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

All nationalities. Don't get it twisted. Don't get it twisted. All the big Afrobeats. I I went and saw Thames Day, I saw Wiz Kid there. Oh, yeah. Yeah, this is a real, like, you have to hit that building.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I'm glad that's it. It's known for like international acts too. Yeah. Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. It's a real it's like that's one of them buildings where it's like the people that go there, they appreciate music. They're like a dancer, like that, you know, dancer. Them people they come in and they listen, they chant, and they listen into everything you say. Yeah, the very good. So I was like, when I seen that you were doing that, I said, yeah, smart move.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I'm excited. I'm not gonna lie. I really excited. It's gonna be dope.

SPEAKER_00

Like, I'm so then so you're saying that so it's like a what how many city tours?

SPEAKER_03

Three. So we announced three. We announced uh Toronto, Canada, LA, and New York. But since I've been here, I had Washington. Yeah, Washington after the SOBs I got Boston.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, that's good. So it's about getting a whiffed.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, so like we're putting it little by little. No, that's good, man. Congratulations. Yeah, I appreciate it. The States is is big. That's one place I wanted to like try and like branch in and get my music over. Because like obviously you're never too big for home, but like they know me and now I just want my thing to be. My thing needs to be global, not local. So I gotta do everything to you know get myself out of there. But nobody's gonna do it for me.

SPEAKER_00

You know, we'll help you. We have a lot of platforms here on our side, so we'll definitely help you because you you seem like you have a good vibe.

SPEAKER_03

I appreciate that. Thank you.

SPEAKER_00

You know, music is good too, but your vibe is good.

SPEAKER_02

Thank you. So do you have any artists out here that you love to work with? Uh American artists?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Who would I say? Victoria. Um Monet. She's so cold. Like she's like, she's so cold. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, she's hot.

SPEAKER_03

Like she's hard. Like she's cold. Like she's so cold. I think like when did I when did I start listening to her? Maybe like earlier last year. Someone put me on. I think no SoundCloud, Soundcloud put me on. It only goes on like the shuffle plates, and then her one song came Coasting.

SPEAKER_00

She flew on that.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, she's dope.

SPEAKER_02

She's a dope dancer, too. Yeah, I see. I see, yeah, yeah. Like a dope.

SPEAKER_00

I I played her song with Davido a lot too. She did a collab with Demito. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

That's my mom's favorite song. So she loves that song stuff. That song's cold. Yeah, for sure. She's like number one minus.

SPEAKER_00

SPEAKER_03

SPEAKER_00

SPEAKER_00
