Cydni and Sher
Life will give us reasons to feel discouraged, disheartened and broken. We choose to take from these moments reasons to find courage, hope and wholeness. When life tries to crack us, we choose to crack up. When we are too weary, we seek strength. When life feels too dark, we remind ourselves from words in the Hebrews “we are not of them who draw back.” Rather we choose to move forward Together.
Cydni and Sher discuss stories from the scriptures, history and their own experiences finding a common truth that there is purpose, meaning and learning to be done all directed by an all powerful, wise and loving God. Come laugh with us or at us, either way we are so glad you are here.

Episode 85 - Christ-Centered Christmas
[00:00:00]
Sher: Maybe you've noticed lines have gotten longer.
Cydni: And your patience, shorter.
Sher: The days have gotten darker.
Cydni: And your chaos, more chaos-y.
Sher: Your bank account, a little smaller.
Cydni: And your jolly, jolly-less.
Sher: So, we invite you to join us and pause.
Cydni: Remember, this isn't a season of must haves to-do's and next day shipping.
Sher: It's the season to reflect and to remember our Redeemer.
Cydni: To recall, rejoice and reverence in the Light of the World's message.
Sher: For unto us, a child is born. Unto us a Son is given, and the government shall be upon His shoulder, and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, the Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace.
Cydni: This is Cydni
Sher: and I'm Sher, and we invite you to join us. for a few minutes each Tuesday and Thursday in December for a special Christmas message.
Cydni: To make your Christmas a little more Christ-massy. [00:01:00]
Though the holidays are meant to be a time of gratitude, and a time meant to focus on Christ's birth, we can find ourselves wrapped up instead of feelings of stress, anxiety, and loneliness.
Science has shown that when people are lost in unfamiliar terrain without a clear visual reference point, they walk in circles.
This has been proven in studies where people have been blindfolded and tracked in open areas, and even dropped off in forests and tracked by GPS. Even when people felt like they walked in a straight line, trackers would show they walked in circles.
Our hope is in the hustle and bustle of this Christmas season that we can all center ourselves, provide much needed reference points of what matters most. It is our prayer that we are not so blinded by the gifts that we need wrapping, and shopping that must get done that we miss entirely the light of the world.
If you seek the [00:02:00] light, you will see. The poet Minnie Lewis Haskins wrote, And I said to the man who stood at the gate of the year, Give me a light that I may tread safely into the unknown. And he replied, Go out into the darkness, And put your hand in the hand of God, That shall be to you better than light, And safer than a known way. So I went forth and finding the hand of God trod , gladly into the night. Elder Patrick Kearon said, Jesus Christ, our beloved Savior. Is the transcendent source of light in our lives. He himself has assured us. I am the light of the world. He that follow with me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. The light of life. That's who He is. That's what He offers us. Because of His light. We really can choose hope and joy in the midst of life's confusing storms. If you have discovered this, you will know the miracle of his life that can penetrate any gloom. As you make the [00:03:00] decision to put Christ as your focus, your light will shine and as it says in Matthew, let your light shine before others so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. We challenge you to send to center Christ this holiday season. Someone you know, someone within your reach, feels like they are walking in circles. There is someone you can serve. We challenge you to pray for who that person is, and we are confident, as you put your hand in God's hand, He will lead you.
This is our prayer from Cydni and Sher
