Bobby, Justin, and Ryan discuss recent NFL news, and run a fantasy football mock draft for redraft leagues full-PPR. Who do you think will end up with the best team?
All right, and welcome back to another episode of the Purple Green Show. I'm Bobby here with Justin and Ryan. Mm-hmm. Who are you?
SPEAKER_00I'm still I'm still a little slow from Rockfest this weekend. Really? Really? Yeah. Yeah, no, I was uh went too hard.
SPEAKER_03I was slow Monday morning, but I'm I'm good now. Yeah, I uh I would you know Sunday I didn't leave the bedroom. I literally watched uh the open golf. Um who won? And uh actually Ryan Fox did, which was awesome. He's 39-year-old New Zealand.
SPEAKER_01What did the uh Fox say? Ring ding ding ding ding.
SPEAKER_02I couldn't I couldn't resist it's bad anyway.
SPEAKER_03It was kind of cool because uh yeah, uh one I I don't know about you guys in all sports. Um Mike Tariko, and he does stuff with the NFL too. Yes, he does all sports. He is the best, I want to say, interview. He gives the best interview. Oh, interview. Okay.
SPEAKER_01Like when he's interviewed, I was gonna say I thought you loved Jim Nance for the I do, I do for golf.
SPEAKER_03Jim Nance is phenomenal. Up in the booth, we got the quiet voice. Mike Tariko was not up in the booth. Oh, okay. He was down on 18, you know, after Ryan Fox made this dramatic, you know, 10-foot birdie put on 18 to win. He won on the last hole. They asked him and he goes, Look, just like a lot of us, you know, we that play golf, we all practice a 10-15 footer on the putting green. That if we make it, we win a major championship. You just did that. How does that actually feel? And he gave the best most real answer. He goes, Well, I couldn't feel my hands. He goes, Yeah, all I was worried about was trying to keep the putter square and just hit it hard enough to get there. Yeah, he goes, That's all that was running through my hands or through my head. And I'm like, God, that's so good, Mike Tariko is. But anyway, digress, digress. Yeah. This is a football podcast. Come on.
SPEAKER_00You know, stay in golf for another second here. I know it would ruin the seriousness of the sport, but I always thought, like on the 18th hole, they should just put a windmill right over top of the right over top of the hole, you know.
SPEAKER_02Oh my god.
SPEAKER_00Or like a like a clown's month or something, you know, something to give them a little bit more of a die, clown. Yeah. Something just to give them a little bit more, you know, pull a little mini golf into it. I know you don't play golf. Combine the sports.
SPEAKER_02No, no, no, that sounds horrible.
SPEAKER_00Oh, that would be awesome.
SPEAKER_02You imagine like his dramatic moment, like, oh, he pinged it off the windmill. His chance was devastating. His chance was shut down by the rotating iron of that windmill.
SPEAKER_03Oh, it's too bad. It's too bad. I saw a guy like yesterday, he took a 10. Just took him seven tries on the green. That's called bad timing. That windmill really got to him. Uh oh, shoot. All right. Well, um, anyway, Rockfest was awesome. Yeah, you know, Wisconsin, you know, rock show, annual rock outing, three-day, four-day rock event, which is awesome. But um, you know what's exciting, guys? Training camps.
SPEAKER_01Trainings are opening up. Tomorrow, uh, five tomorrow have rookies reporting.
SPEAKER_03I believe today was the first one.
SPEAKER_01Is it the Panthers? Yes, because they play in the um Hall of Fame. Hall of Fame game. The Hall of Fame game is the Panthers and who?
SPEAKER_03Cardinals? Cardinals, I think. Really? I'm pretty sure it's Panthers, Cardinals for a Hall of Fame game.
SPEAKER_01I just looked at it earlier today, honestly, and I still Yeah, Cardinals, Panthers.
SPEAKER_00No wonder you forgot it.
SPEAKER_01Right? It's uh Well, they usually pick people that have like players players being inducted. And so this year, Luke Keekly and Larry Fitzgerald are ones for each of those teams. So makes sense. We get to see Matt LaFleur, or not Matt LaFleur, Mike LaFleur and the Cardinals, though.
SPEAKER_03Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_01Brilliant.
SPEAKER_03So that'll be interesting. I tell you what, the Hall of Fame game is the biggest tease in the world. You're all jacked up. Finally, football game with referees and everything. Like TV. And it's the most horrible football game you'll watch all year. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01You get all jacked up, watch one drive, realize I watch it and like, why am I watching? I can watch one quarter.
SPEAKER_03I only am watching this.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_03It's painful. And then the thing is, is like I don't want to watch any other preseason football outside of like my.
SPEAKER_01I did the the year the Patriots were in it that the one year, and Ramondre Stevenson was a rookie. And I watched that year, and I watched that is the year the uh my kids were born, and I watched every preseason game that year because the kids were so little I had nothing else to do besides sit on the couch and feed them and like do nothing. You had to sit there and hold them. So and then I watched reruns of preseason games. Like I'm I'm talking not talking for Packers, I'm talking every team I watched. You were scouting. It was oh um, I took Ramondre Stevenson in multiple leagues that year. And people are like, What are you doing? He's the real deal. He was very good, yeah.
SPEAKER_03He's still on, he's still good, still very good. Yeah. No doubt. Um, yeah, so trend camps are opening. I know the Vikings open up the 26th of July, so in a few days, um, which is exciting. Yeah, I do like how the preseason is kind of set up where there's only three games now instead of four. Just because, man, does it get long? But that you know, that extra week after the preseason before the first game start is the longest week of the NFL season. It is all year. It's the longest week. It's a lot later this year than it was in um last year.
SPEAKER_01Last year was super early, so that kind of messed that up.
SPEAKER_03But yeah. So that that kind of stinks a little bit. A little bit more waiting, it seems like another week from last year. But um Packer Vikings.
SPEAKER_01Some news around the NFL, real quick. Um, the Dolphins are signing Jordan Brooks to a three-year $51.3 million extension. $35 million guaranteed.
SPEAKER_03Yep. A lot of money, but he's an all he's an all-pro linebacker for them.
SPEAKER_01Yep. Uh the Packers signed uh Devontae Wyatt yesterday, Monday, the 20th. Okay. To a three-year $57 million contract extension that includes $20 million as a signing bonus. Nice. So he'll be on under contract through 2029. This year was gonna be played on his fifth-year option. So um so it's really like a four-year. It's yeah, he's got four years left with the team. But I I think it was a good signing for the Packers. It was a guy they kind of needed to sign. Um they're and they're an office, I they don't have the contract breakdown yet, but I'm gonna guess after like two or three years they could cut the guy if they needed to, in all honesty. Because that's for the most part, that's how the Packers.
SPEAKER_00Well, that and especially if it's that much of a signing bonus of it, too. It's really not that big of a signing bonus.
SPEAKER_03So you spread that out over the years anyway.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it's it's not gonna be a crazy cap hit at any point. Shouldn't be. Um, so it was a good thing. He was one of the three priority contracts that they that I had kind of seen highlighted going into the offseason. So sure. Um Christian Watson, him, and Tucker Kraft.
SPEAKER_04Tucker's not done though.
SPEAKER_01He's not done yet. I don't I don't I didn't think he would be done until training camp. My guess is just to see where he's at injury-wise, too. Come into training camp, like, okay, how's he doing? Yeah, all the time. How's he moving? I think I think he'll get signed. Before the end of training. How much does he get? Because the tight end market really fits. I think he'll get 18 and a half million a year. Maybe 19. Probably 18 and a half. Well, I'm trying to think. It's just under George Kittle and um Trey McBride. Yes, that puts him like top five, right? It puts him top four, I think. Okay.
SPEAKER_03That kind of fits into where he belongs then.
SPEAKER_01I I think so. I I mean it I'll I'll list the guys at the position here real quick. One second, let me pull it up. Um, and you're gonna be like, yeah, I I I guess. Like, because you start looking. So George Kittle's got 19.1 per year, Trey McBride's got 19, Kyle Pitts is at 17.6.
SPEAKER_00And he he's the one who just got signed.
SPEAKER_01Just got signed to a long-term deal. Isaiah Likely's at 13.3.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Mark Andrews is 13. Dalton Schultz is 12.6. Cole Komet is 12 and a half. I mean, I mean, I could see him. I mean, where would you where would you what would you put him at?
SPEAKER_03I I definitely think he's worth more than Isaiah Likely and Mark Andrews. Right.
SPEAKER_01Um that's why I'm like it somehow 15 at least.
SPEAKER_03I think he's honestly probably worth more than Kyle Pitts.
SPEAKER_01And that's kind of why I went 18 and a half.
SPEAKER_03Honestly, though, I it wouldn't shock me because the guys ahead of him are a little bit older.
SPEAKER_01Trick McBride's 27.
SPEAKER_03Yes.
SPEAKER_00So he's not that much older, really. Yeah. Yeah, he's the one that him and likely are the young ones that are. He's next up.
SPEAKER_03He could honestly, if you look at the production that he's had over the last few years. I refuse to believe that. He might sit down with the fact that you say I want 20 million a year.
SPEAKER_01He could easily say he wants 20 million a year, and maybe that's where they're at right now, and they're just not talking. Because it nothing's really come out in terms of news as to where they're at on that.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. But you could go, I want 20 million. Um and I think if you put him on the open market, he'd probably get it. Oh, I think he would too. So that's why I think he just sets the market right here. They pay him 20 million and move on. I would be shocked because I'm not saying that he's better than all those guys on the list, but you know how it goes on these types of jobs. Oh, I don't guys that shouldn't be necessarily setting the market. Well, so set it.
SPEAKER_01Kyle Pitts just got paid this offseason, right? He he signed the franchise track the franchise tagged him, signed it, and then they they gave him the extension. Yep. So for me, he's probably the closest comparison because he was already with the team. Yeah, but Kyle Pitts was he had a good year this last year, though.
SPEAKER_03The the franchise tag works both ways, though, for the player and the franchise. And what I mean by that is that that franchise tag puts some pressure on the player. You want to lock up this contract. It does, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Oh, yeah, because otherwise you're gonna have to go to the city. No, well, he has only got one year left on his deal. But yeah, but Tucker Crack would just go, I'm coming off an injury. Well, right, he is, yeah. Yeah. That's true. We'll see. I mean, I think I I think I hope they pay him about 18 and a half.
SPEAKER_03That's what if you're a fan of the that's where you want him to go.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I think very well could be 19 and a half, 19 and a half would put him at the most per year. Yeah, I guess yeah, 19 and a half point.
SPEAKER_03I think him setting the market wouldn't wouldn't shock me.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it wouldn't be surprising. I'm also not upset if they do that. I'm not sure. No, I think he's an up and coming. All right, he can be that guy. He is a apparently one of the leaders in the locker room in terms of so I'm like, great. I want that guy on the team then.
SPEAKER_00No, yeah. You want him happy then too, if other players like him and stuff. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_03So I just don't think the deal gets any cheaper if you let him play either. Oh, I don't think it's not gonna get cheaper if he plays. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01And that's why I think they they want to sign him before the season starts, because you at least have a little bit where, hey, you know what, we're gonna take down the guaranteed money a little bit, just because you're coming off the injured, you know, and he and he can probably be like, okay, fine. If I do a five-year option or a four-year option or right or whatever, something like that. So thinking about that, like I think that makes a lot of sense. Um, yeah. I don't really have any other Packer news though. Um Ryan? Packer News?
SPEAKER_00Packer News? Uh no. Okay. No. I do have I do have NFL news.
SPEAKER_01NFL news. What's your NFL news?
SPEAKER_00Um, it is Tom Brady related. Oh yeah. Has anybody heard this yet?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it's actually a horrible look for Tom Brady. I don't know what the hell he's doing.
SPEAKER_00It is happening. So, like, I think no, it must be a little over three days ago now because the article's a few days old. But he was at a what was the article? What was where's the place? Where was the place? Uh he was at an event and he ended up slapping uh Jake Paul. Yeah. Logan Paul. Logan Paul in the face. Because they didn't agree on something, or was it like a something about Logan Paul was making fun of him for like football or something?
SPEAKER_03So, what this is, and I'm just gonna say it out there. This is all staged.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, this is because that's kind of the thing, is that he's talking about getting into a WWE event.
SPEAKER_03Oh god, Tom Brady is so uh this is so below Tom Brady.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, he yeah, it doesn't look good.
SPEAKER_03Tom Brady, you're the goat, okay? Don't belittle yourself to trying to draw publicity by interacting with either Jake or Logan Paul. It's not worth your time. Just do what the goat does. You're Michael Jordan of your sport. Buy a team. Well, you kind of you know own some of the Raiders here. Okay, that's great. Um, do what you want, be pictured with high-class models, whatever you're doing. I don't care. Be involved with your kids, but don't get mixed up in this. This is not a good look. It cheapens your image, in my opinion.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, apparently he said he's been waiting for an invite, waiting for an invite from Nick from the WWE president to come up with some storyline for him to get in the mix. He feels like I'm retired from football and I have an opportunity to go out there, still showcase that I'm a little bit of an athlete.
SPEAKER_01Okay. It'll all be staged anyway, so it really doesn't matter.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it's just it can't seem silly.
SPEAKER_01Um, other news, uh, I forgot about it. Uh Aaron Donald um is working out, and if he he came out and said if he plays this year, he wants to play the full season. I like that. So we'll we'll see where that goes. Um should be soon, I guess. Yeah. It we should know. I would I would think we would know sometime and during training camp. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Um, anyways, Viking news.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, still waiting to see what Harrison Smith is really gonna do. So we still don't know. He finished on such a high note that you're wanting back? I I have no problem with him coming back. Okay. I don't. I don't think. Yeah, is he the guy who can get potentially burned? Yes, but he brings so much more to that team.
SPEAKER_01If I were that just make him make him the hybrid linebacker, yeah. The safety that the third safety that plays, and he plays down in the middle of the room. And that's the thing with Brian Flores.
SPEAKER_03If you're gonna do that, that's what you're gonna do. Like, I'm never worried about what Harrison, he's such a high Q high IQ player to begin with. Um, so yeah, no, I we'll see if Harrison Smith ends up coming back. Obviously, this time of year it's all conversation about Kyler Murray, JJ McCarthy. We won't know till training camp, guys. And it's gonna be a few weeks into training camp, I think, before they make a decision. I think they'll make a decision after the second preseason game.
SPEAKER_00Um but you are you are thinking they're waiting to fully decide.
SPEAKER_03I do, I do. I really truly think the Vikings are gonna wait. Um, from what I heard, it sounds like JJ McCarthy has taken some strides, which is positive. At the same time, he probably doesn't have the top end playing level that Kyler has at this point.
SPEAKER_00Is he striding in the right direction? Or is he just walking around?
SPEAKER_03I mean, so far, uh you know, from when they had OTAs, he looked fine, I guess. I don't know. He's running. Um, yeah, I mean, the Vikings' next decisions, uh, it's gonna be interesting. Do they sign an edge at free agency? They got about $13 million in cap space. You know, they they need some edge help with Dallas Turner and Van Genkles. Been hoping the Packers are going to too, and there's still multiple out there. So I don't know what's going on there. Um, on another level, uh, the Vikings need to start thinking about decisions with their own players for contracts. Brian O'Neal is due for one. Uh Jordan Addison, what are you gonna do with him? Um, it'll be interesting with the new GM. I I don't know. Addison, they they may wait.
SPEAKER_01He's not it's gonna it could cost you more, but he they may wait to make sure he doesn't do something dumb.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, at the same time, you know, it's well they just picked it up, they've got a whole nother year.
SPEAKER_01They do. You don't need to sign him, you can wait till next year.
SPEAKER_03He's going into his fourth year, so they have two years of team control before franchise tagging. Yeah, I just think in the wide receiver game, sooner you sign him up, the cheaper it is. At the same time, with Jordan Addison off the field in or you know, yeah, deals that he's done. Um, it's a little bit concerning to give him all that money and be like you're locked in. So um outside of that, no news is good news. We're staying with that pattern, which is good. Um I do truly believe though that the quarterback competition is an open competition. For no I yeah, I I do because I think the Vikings are like, hey, um, we don't have enough invested in either player in terms of a financial commitment to dictate that. Yeah, um, but equally both of you guys were super high draft picks and have equally as much to play for. So I think that's actually a pretty good standpoint. Either one of them could be the Vikings quarterback of the future. See who wins the competition. It's a big one though, for sure. Um, all right, Bobby.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. I got a question for you because I know you like Bryce Young a lot. I do like Bryce Young. How many yards do you think he has this year? Threw for what, 3200 yards? You want to make a drink bet on it?
SPEAKER_03Ooh. I think honestly. He threw for 3011 last year. 3011. Okay, so I knew it wasn't crazy. We include it. He played, what, four?
SPEAKER_01Passing yards.
SPEAKER_03Just passing yards. I'm gonna say he finishes with 3,550 yards. Tough yard, tough line.
SPEAKER_00You're gonna take the over or the under, Justin.
SPEAKER_01Oh, I would take under that.
SPEAKER_03But I don't know. Just go straight 3,500.
SPEAKER_01No. Give me 350.
SPEAKER_033,550, let's do it. All right. I'll do that. God, no. I don't even know if I want to do that. That was a fair line.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_03That's a fair line. I want to go 3,500 if I'm putting a drink pen on it.
SPEAKER_01I I was trying to find the line for him for the year. Over under.
SPEAKER_00Like just what's his like I assume Vegas has to go.
SPEAKER_03Vegas, right? I think he yeah, I think he throws for like truly like 3,700 yards. Because I think his I I think he's all of his weapons are maturing as well. So you should get some help from the players itself being a little bit better. I I do think they have a sneaky, decent wide receiver core there, actually.
SPEAKER_01Um the over-underline for most major sports books is between 3150 and 3250. Oh, geez, I'll take those lines. Yeah, no, thanks. I I'm not gonna buy that's that because that's about where I think he's gonna end up. So 3200.
SPEAKER_033200 is a line. Uh-uh. I'm not taking that.
SPEAKER_01I would say over.
SPEAKER_00What about 33?
SPEAKER_01I'm still over. I would take under, I think, on that one. Okay. Is that in there? Is that it?
SPEAKER_00I think that we would we did we find it just like that?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I think drink that I'll take over.
SPEAKER_00I think he throws over 3,300 yards. Oh, you know what's a good bet because Justin looks sadder now.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, like 3,500, Ryan. Why don't you gonna do that to me? See, 3300's on it. I'm going over. I'll take over. I'm a Bryce Young fan. I think he's really matured into a good quarterback, too. I think he's a lot better than people think. And if the Panthers did let him go, I would love it if the Vikings picked him up.
SPEAKER_00Get their third starting quarterback.
SPEAKER_03I don't know if I might be the starting quarterback.
SPEAKER_01Let's put it this way though, Bobby. Um he had 3,000 yards last year. Let me pull up the game stats. Uh how many rushing yards did he have last year? Just out of curiosity, one second. Probably like 400 at most. I don't think it was much. Um, I got loading up the three. He doesn't run nearly as much as he had. He does not, no. Uh he had 202 rushing yards last year. Um so the sad thing is though, Bobby, he had 3,000 yards and he had 448 in one game.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. That'll be fine.
SPEAKER_01Don't worry about it. How many times do you think he broke 300? At least once. Twice. Perfect. How many times do you think he was under 200 yards?
SPEAKER_03Seven times.
SPEAKER_00So we can do the math. We can do the math. Are you still counting? 12.
SPEAKER_03Yikes. If you average 200 yards a game, 17 games, you had 3,400 yards right there. So I mean that makes sense.
SPEAKER_01That's the problem, is he's not over 200 very often.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I think he breaks that this year. I think they're gonna be a much more explosive passing team.
SPEAKER_01Where's the other talent coming from in the receiving game?
SPEAKER_03Well, it's just their their players are getting they're a little bit older. They had Rico Dowdle. He was great last year. He's not really the receiving back, though.
SPEAKER_01He's a big Chuba all year last year, almost. No, they didn't. He missed three games.
SPEAKER_03He was and then he's he was relatively splitting duty. He's and then you had you know, Ted, Jalen Coker missed time as well. Uh, I mean, they they were there were some holes in in a consistent, you know, products out on the field in terms of play. I'm okay with it.
SPEAKER_00All right. What did what did they end up getting in the draft? I don't even remember. In the draft? Yeah. Uh that's a great question, right? I need to look it up. Because they they they didn't go offense, did they?
SPEAKER_01I'll be honest, I don't recall. Uh offensive tackle, first round, uh defensive tackle, Chris Brazzle the second, uh, wide receiver from Tennessee in the third round, a corner in the fourth, a center in the fifth. SAF. Why am I blinking on what that is? What position is SAF? Save oh safety. What did they do? They just put S. Dumb. Uh line and then a linebacker in the seventh.
SPEAKER_00So they did get a another wide receiver and they got another they got an offensive lineman right away. Yeah. So they got some stuff to help them. They did, yes.
SPEAKER_01All right. We are gonna do a mock draft.
unknownUh
SPEAKER_01We are going to do a 12 team, uh full point PPR. Uh oh, I'm trying to remember how many players we got here. One quarterback, two running backs, two wide receivers, tight end, two flex, and three bench spots. We're not gonna draft kickers or uh defenses. So Bobby is gonna be Ryan is gonna be pick number five. Ryan is gonna be pick number two. Okay. I I shuffled it, Ryan.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I was like I was that's why I was like, ooh, what'd I get? You are pick number five.
SPEAKER_01Bobby is pick number seven, and I am pick number eleven. Okay. I have a feeling I'm not gonna like it. I have been liking picking from the beginning of the draft this year. So uh half point PPR, you said, right? Full point PPR. Full point, perfect.
SPEAKER_03That's where I want to be. I don't see I'm I'm I'm not gonna like where I'm at, I don't think.
SPEAKER_00You're gonna just miss out on the really good. I never really care for the middle. The middle, like especially the ones we've done this year, like it never feels good. Sure, sure. All right, well, we're gonna kick it off and get it rolling. Oh, um, back to the Tom Brady thing before we started this. Yeah. Um, I did see that he was he's planning on being the heel or the bad guy. Oh now every in case anybody was curious.
SPEAKER_01Okay, well, uh what a gift. Crazy start to the draft. What a gift. Yeah. Um, so Jameer Gibbs goes number one, which I'll be honest, I think he's my number one this year. Is he? Okay. I think right now.
SPEAKER_03I would you like to trade for him? I have him in the league. Sure, I'll give you a first. No. I'm talking three, four, first.
SPEAKER_01But McCaffrey went number two, which is shocking. Over Bajan Robinson, which I'm surprised about with the injury.
SPEAKER_03McCaffrey was number one last year.
SPEAKER_01He was not number one last year. For running backs. No, he was not. Bajan was number one last year for running backs, Bobby.
SPEAKER_00Oh no, he was number one, Justin.
SPEAKER_01You mean finishing overall, or are you talking where he's drafted? Finishing over position ranking is number one drafting. I thought you meant drafted. I was like, he was drafting number one. There was tons of fear about his injury risk. He was like the sixth or seventh running back that went off the board.
SPEAKER_00According to his uh tradition, like he should be like very high this year.
SPEAKER_01No, he should not.
SPEAKER_00No, he goes like two or three years good and then hurt, and then good, and then hurt. And why did he get hurt two years in a row? Well, I mean the common was two.
SPEAKER_01Oh, okay. Um, all right, and then Bajan goes three, and then Puka Nakua goes number four.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Ryan, you are up.
SPEAKER_01It's out of rehit.
SPEAKER_00I think I got a kind of a layup here. Uh Jamar Chase is currently available. I think that would be a wise choice. All right.
SPEAKER_01Ryan takes Jamar Chase, then JSN goes. Bobby, you are up. Bobby, you could take Jonathan Taylor after having taken him at the third pick, I believe, in the last draft.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, and I'll be honest.
SPEAKER_01You can take him at seven.
SPEAKER_03That's exactly what I'm gonna do.
SPEAKER_01Okay. James Cook goes next, CeeDee Lamb, Justin Jefferson, and now I have to decide. You know what? I think this is an easy decision, especially in a full-point PPR for me.
SPEAKER_03No doubt.
SPEAKER_01Um, I will be taking Amano St. Brown.
SPEAKER_03I think that's a great pick.
SPEAKER_01He has finished as the number three wide receiver the last three years.
SPEAKER_03Yep.
SPEAKER_01So I will take him as the sixth wide receiver off the board. That seems like a steal. Yeah. That seems like a good deal. Uh Drake London goes next, then Trey McBride. Wow, that's early for Dre McBride, I feel like.
SPEAKER_00That's it is always kind of the one fun thing with the these mock drafts. The computer is is varies wildly from draft to draft. All right.
SPEAKER_01Sorry, I'm just taking a peek here where I'm where what kind of guys are around in the area when I come back around, just put it to be so long.
SPEAKER_00Um Kenneth Walker's top of the board right now. That's kind of a neat neat one.
SPEAKER_01I don't know if it's a neat one, but it's something. You don't think he's neat? I I think he'll I don't know. I where do you guys think the Chiefs are at this year? Where do they finish in that division?
SPEAKER_03Nine wins.
SPEAKER_00Nine wins? That's it? Yeah, I think they missed them. I I think like second in the division.
SPEAKER_03I don't. I'm not even sure. I just don't think Tengvers and the Chargers are a better team than Kansas City. Not saying that Kansas City won't finish second because Chargers seem to piss away like seconds.
SPEAKER_00Even when we were picking division winners, I don't think I picked them to win that division. I think they were a player. I have it pulled up.
SPEAKER_01Uh, Ryan, you picked the uh Broncos. Bobby and I picked the Chargers. Consistency. And Ryan, um, you did not have the Chiefs making the playoffs. Ooh, I had them missing. You did.
SPEAKER_03I'll be honest. Your pick here to me is a layup. Who I would take.
SPEAKER_01Really? I don't see it that way. I do.
SPEAKER_00You think Gente?
SPEAKER_03No.
SPEAKER_01No, I don't want Genty. Too bad of a team. The best running backs typically come on winning teams.
SPEAKER_03Not this one. Typically. I'm about to say.
SPEAKER_01Devon Achan?
SPEAKER_03That's I love him as a full point PPR running back. I love him. Fair. It's fair.
SPEAKER_01It's so many catches. You're looking at a new offense, though. New offensive coordinator, different quarterback. By the way, the only the only quarterback that checks down most uh running backs in the NFL. You know who it's been?
SPEAKER_03Geno Smith.
SPEAKER_01Tua. He's no longer on the team anymore either. Neither's Mike McDaniel. Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00I've got a little bit of fears there. It is kind of tough because you don't know how they'll use him in the other.
SPEAKER_03So here's here's what's going on in my mind. I don't trust they have to use him. He's the only player on their team that's an athlete. He's going to get the ball a ton this year. He's going to get 300 plus touches.
SPEAKER_01My fears he's going to get hurt, Bobby. He very well could, but everyone runs that to an extent. Not when you're getting the ball that when you're getting the ball that much, it's much more likely. Especially on a bad thing. Walker has injury problems on and off a lot. Ashton Genty, I don't want to do with deal with it. Not this early, anyways. Devon Han, tempting with his talent.
SPEAKER_03He missed like five games as a rookie.
SPEAKER_01I'm interested in with the Mike McDaniel going to going to the Chargers. I think he could have a great season. Oh, Saquon's there. I'm even tempted to go with Saquon, actually.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I get that too.
SPEAKER_01Just for the steady, Eddie. I think I'm gonna go Saquon. I was I was tempted for your uh Marion Hampton. So Kenneth Walker goes next, Devon Han.
SPEAKER_00Uh God, I hate Genti. And then Genty. All right, so Bobby, you're up. What are you thinking, bud?
SPEAKER_03Ah, man. I tell you what, um I this one might shock you guys a little bit. Um you're gonna go two running backs? No, I'm I'm a big believer that Kirk Cousins is gonna win the job in Vegas. You're gonna go Brock Bowers. And he loves tight ends. I watched him throw into TJ Hawkinson. I'll be honest, but I think Brock Bowers has his biggest year this year with Kirk Cousins if Kirk stays quarterback all year round. I'm gonna take Brock Bowers. Okay.
SPEAKER_01Jeremiah Love. Do you want a Jeremiah Love Row?
SPEAKER_00I kind of did.
SPEAKER_01Take Amarian Hamptons. I think Amari Hampton has a better year than Jeremiah Love.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it's the safer bet, but I kind of wanted to take him just for funsies.
SPEAKER_01It's a safer bet, and again, we just talked about Mike McDaniel and how much they use Devon A. Chan, right? Oh, no. He's now with the Chargers. We do know that, right?
SPEAKER_00Like Yeah, no, I agree with you. I just wanted Love for funsies.
SPEAKER_01George Pickens goes next, then Malik Neighbors, Chris Olave, Chase Brown, Nico Collins, Derek Henry, AJ Brown, Kyron Williams. I will tell you why right now, why I like the beginning of the draft being there, because you can pick up Derek Henry and AJ Brown.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_01And I want both of those guys in my teams a lot.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, you would yeah, you'd be not mad at either getting either one of those guys.
SPEAKER_01No. No. Ryan, you're back up.
SPEAKER_00Um I'm kind of Bucky Irving right now.
SPEAKER_03Don't hate it as a receiving ball.
SPEAKER_00I will tell you my opinion on last year you strolled a little bit because you got hurt.
SPEAKER_01My opinion on Josh Jacobs has changed.
SPEAKER_00What are you flexing?
SPEAKER_01He's going to play this year.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_01Nothing's going to be resolved in time for him to be suspended this year.
SPEAKER_00Sure.
SPEAKER_01If he's playing a full year, he is going way too late.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I mean, that's true.
SPEAKER_00I mean, like last year.
SPEAKER_01And and he was hurt a lot last year, and he was still the 13th running back.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, he played 15 games.
SPEAKER_01But he played, but he played a couple games where he basically did nothing. Yeah. I mean, yeah, he he had a couple games in there that were horrible. I'll take him. That's just my I mean, that's just my personal opinion.
SPEAKER_00No, I mean, I was thinking running back. I liked all the running backs that were at the top of the board there. Besides like Brees Hall, who I still am not a big fan of.
SPEAKER_01Bobby's gonna take Brees Hall.
SPEAKER_03Nope, I'm gonna take Rashi Rice. I think he is criminally underrated being picked in the middle of the third round. He's only being picked there because of his suspension. And he's not getting suspended for any of his off-the-field stuff right now.
SPEAKER_01I think people are more concerned he does something dumb again.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, he's kind of got a history of being dumb. I would say I think Rachi Rice in redrafts is being drafted a full round light. He should be a mid-second round pick. Yeah. I don't know.
SPEAKER_00I mean, a lot of these second-round guys, like I don't know who I would make a I would take him over George Pickens and Malik Neighbors.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. And so I mean maybe Chris Olave. So at this point, I'm I'm very intrigued to pick Rashi Rice.
SPEAKER_01It was. That's my guy. All right, Bobby's gonna take Rashi Rice. Bucky Irving goes next, Brees Hall, Javante Williams. I am very glad I took one running back last time.
SPEAKER_00Did you mention that Josh Allen went to team six?
SPEAKER_01I did not, thank you. Josh Allen went in the middle of the second round.
SPEAKER_00Between Bobby and I.
SPEAKER_01Third round. Quarterbacks are slipping later and later, I feel like, this year. Which they should. Well, I'm totally fine with that, but especially in a full-point PPR drive. Yeah. Oh, what do I want to do here? Um I got two picks coming around. Do you? Just a guy you love, huh? Ted. I'm not taking Ted. Um I'll tell you that right now. I'm not taking Ted. I don't blame you. Um really tempted to go. T Higgins.
SPEAKER_00Um You like Garrett Wilson too, don't you?
SPEAKER_01I do like Garrett Wilson. I just I don't know. I'm either it depends on my mood that day.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_01I know how that is. There's just the upside feels so limited on the Jets. It does. And then you're like, he's really, really good. You know he performed. Do you know you know he led the Jets in receiving yards last year, only playing seven games?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, that's sad.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. So like he's talented, very talented. Um, I'm gonna I'm taking T. Higgins. That's a safe play. I think it's a yeah, super high floor for T. Higgins, obviously, as my wide receiver too. Luther Burden and um Teterola McMillan go next. And I'm gonna come back around and I'm going to man, I almost changed my mind. I'm gonna take Devonta Smith. Oh, okay. Wide receiver one for the Eagles. Sure. Uh Lamar Jackson goes next. Travis H. Jr. goes next, and Garrett Wilson goes right before Body. Yeah, um second tight end.
SPEAKER_03I I really do like Wilson Loveland a lot. In fact, he's a he's a topic. I wouldn't take him because you're it's not worth giving up. I'm gonna take a guy here that um I think gets a ton of catches this year um with some of the uh fluctuations of the roster. I'm gonna take Amik uh Ajigba. Ig Ig Big Boo. Ig Big Boo, my bad.
SPEAKER_01I really thought you were going with Lad McConkie. It's a Buka, Bobby. Yeah. I'm doing the rock wrong.
SPEAKER_03Abuka.
SPEAKER_01Uh Ladd McConkey goes next. I thought about taking Ladd McConkie. I thought about taking Lad too, but I thought Bobby was going for it.
SPEAKER_03I like Amika just a little bit more with that young upside no Mike Evans.
SPEAKER_01And that's kind of where I was at, but then I was also like, oh, Devonta Smith. He's the number one. Yeah. So I'm like, why would I take the number two guy for Ladd versus Devonta?
SPEAKER_03Amika is the number one in Tampa now.
SPEAKER_01He's gonna be probably Chris Godwin very well could be the number one guy, though. Could be. He was hurt a lot of last year, so you we don't know. Ryan, you got two running backs and one wide receiver. I'm guessing you're going wide receiver here.
SPEAKER_00Probably going wide receiver. I like staying balanced. I'm torn between Zay Flowers and uh Waddle here.
SPEAKER_03I like Waddle way more than Flowers this year.
SPEAKER_00Waddle is getting older, he's with a new team.
SPEAKER_01Not even 28, yeah. He's not even 28 yet.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, but he's still older.
SPEAKER_01But he's with Sean Payton, who is a genius in terms of offensive scheme.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, Zay Flowers is 25 on the same team, and he just keeps getting better and better every year.
SPEAKER_01Does he though? Yeah. I feel like he kind of just plateaued around 1100 yards. Yeah. Well, he got 1200 this year. Oh, my bad. But he was pretty much around 1100.
SPEAKER_00He was seventh. He was seventh in wide receivers this year.
SPEAKER_01I know, but it was very he's been he's been healthy this year. I just don't see the upside from where he's at. That's just my point.
SPEAKER_00I think he's I feel like I'm more I feel more consistent with him than Waddle.
SPEAKER_01I I I like Waddle personally more, but yeah.
SPEAKER_03I do too.
SPEAKER_01I I think he's a yards after the catch guy, and Sean Payton will happily feed him.
SPEAKER_03Take whoever you want, so I can roast your team either.
SPEAKER_01I think I'm gonna go waddle. I'm gonna go flex. Oh my god, what an idiot. I know. I know. Cam Scattaboo. Cam Scadaboo goes next. Uh Jameson Williams. J Mo. Drake May. I can't believe he's the third quarterback off the board. Uh Devontae Adams, Jalen Waddell, Tyler Warren, Travian Henderson, and Colston Loveland. Ryan, you are back up.
SPEAKER_03The only time Tyler Warren can say he was drafted before Colson Loveland.
SPEAKER_01Well, he was drafted all last year in the redrafts.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah, he was. But I'm talking about real life.
SPEAKER_01Fair enough. Fair enough.
SPEAKER_00Um, this is where it starts to get kind of a little fuzzy for me. None of these guys are siding, you know? I I think I'll just top of the board, I'll go Judkins.
SPEAKER_01Say, Quinch on Judkins, David Montgomery. Third running backs, not bad. I wanted David Montgomery to follow me.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_01I was really hoping.
SPEAKER_03I'm gonna I when I picked Devontae I was like, I got I don't love Terry McLaurin just because of his age. Um is he 29? Yeah, I think Joe Burr, I think Joe Burr almost 31 monster year, but then I look at Mike Evans. Mike Evans will be just fine, but I just don't know if he's worthy of 57 at this point. And same with DJ Moore, there's a lot of questions. I'd rather take an ascending player, which brings me to my next Bichelle Tutin. Damn it, Bobby.
SPEAKER_01Taking guys. All right, I like Byshell. Bobby takes Byshell Tutin, who I'm very high on this year as well. Uh Jaden Daniels goes next, then Mike Evans, then DJ Moore. Gosh darn it. Okay. Um Scary Terry's still there. Yeah, he is. He is. Um you love Joe Burrow. Joe Burrow Higgins. I was super tempted to take Joe Burrow because I could stack the bigger. I could, but then I always just keep remembering that you know what? I also have Devonta Smith. I could take Jalen Hurts with my next pick, not even this one. Um, I could take uh Jared Goff at the very end of the draft and pair him with Amana St. Brown. So I just the quarterbacks this year, I there are so many quarterbacks I like late that unless I feel the need to pull the trigger on like a Lamar or something, with the huge high upside rushing, I just don't find the need.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, honestly, I think once Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson go, I don't it it's whatever after that for a while.
SPEAKER_01For me, Joe, I mean Joe Burrow, if you he can he can have the 5,000 yards, 50 touchdowns, no problem.
SPEAKER_00It's just yeah, honestly, I I did think about grabbing him too, because I have uh uh Jamar Chase. Yeah for my first pick. Oh, I I would have if I was you. I mean, if he comes back around, I would have. Yeah, if he I I thought about it in this this last round here.
SPEAKER_01If I had Jamar Chase, I for sure would do it. T. Higgins isn't quite as big of the boom for you.
SPEAKER_03I think Jared Goff with is almost a better fit with Aman Ra.
SPEAKER_01Probably, yeah. Um, gosh darn it. I'm trying to figure out my running back here where where I want to pull the trigger on my second running back because I need to get another one.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, you got one, three wide receivers.
SPEAKER_01I am gonna take I'm gonna take DeAndre Swift.
SPEAKER_00You really have to go down a ways to get other running backs now, don't you?
SPEAKER_01There goes Joe Burrow. Aaron McLaurin as well. Um my god. You know what? No, we're gonna take Christian Watson. What were you thinking? I almost took Jalen Hurts. Oh. Almost hit it. Uh so I took Christian Watson. Um I as my fourth wide receiver, I think that's massive value. Sure. So uh Roman Dunze goes next, Carnell Tate, and then Harold Fannon. I'd say sorry for you, Bobby, but you already have Dark Powers, so Yeah, no, I don't feel bad about that.
SPEAKER_03You know, right here I'm looking at the best kind of position available at this point. Having two running backs, two wide receivers, and a tight end gives me some flexibility. I'm on the same page. I'm not necessarily looking to take a quarterback early.
SPEAKER_01I mean, Hertz is at least a running quarterback if you wanted to go with that. You're looking at probably nine to twelve touchdowns on the ground.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I think at this point, though, I'm more inclined to take I'm gonna take a running back here. One that I hope gets a lot of catches out of the backfield as well. I'm gonna go Chuba Hubbard.
SPEAKER_01Chuba Hubbard? All right. RJ Harvey goes next.
SPEAKER_00Um So I I'm up I'm up next. I got uh three running backs, two wide receivers currently. Um Tucker Kraft's top of the board. I thought about a lot of I looked at him for a minute there. Okay. Um I mean, like he's gonna be very good, I think. His question is like how long will he take to come back to full strength? Sure. Um I looked at uh Brian Thomas for a minute there. I love Brian Thomas this year. Yeah, he struggled a little bit last year, but he was also he did have some injury, he was hurt a few games.
SPEAKER_01I I still like Brian Thomas a lot this year. I I don't know about you, Bobby, but I for me, I would take Brian Thomas over Jordan Tyson. In a redraft.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I think Metcalf is there too.
SPEAKER_03It's tough. Um Brian Thomas was inexplicably bad. He was to the point where it did not make sense.
SPEAKER_01They stopped targeting him even, yeah.
SPEAKER_03How bad he was last year. And it wasn't like, oh, he's not getting the ball, it's like he couldn't catch it.
SPEAKER_01No, but he was so his rookie season was so good.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I understand. I'm not that high on Brian Thomas. No, I'm sorry.
SPEAKER_00I would say you would take Jordan Tyson over him. Okay. Brian Thomas had 91 targets last year. It's not like he's getting new systems.
SPEAKER_03He's got a new quarterback. Oh, I totally agree. I you know, it is a complete heat.
SPEAKER_01Boom, his rookie year, but he was, and he had Mac Jones as quarterback for most of that year.
SPEAKER_03So yeah, I mean, I just I'm not in love with the guy.
SPEAKER_01That's completely fair.
SPEAKER_00What are you thinking, Ryan? Um, well, I saw DKF, DK, and then I was like, oh, maybe. Um we'll we'll go with a rookie. I like I like drafting rookies. We'll go with Jordan Tyson.
SPEAKER_01All right, Jordan Tyson, Brian Thomas goes next. Uh Jalen Warren, DK Metcalf, Kyle Pitts, Cortland Sutton, Michael Wilson, Marvin Harrison, back-to-back picks. Jalen Hurts, and back to Ryan.
SPEAKER_00I'm real. Now I got how now I think I'm gonna take Tucker Kraft.
SPEAKER_01I can't believe he made it back to that.
SPEAKER_00I didn't think he was gonna.
SPEAKER_01There's even another tight end went before, you know, it ended up. So Ryan takes Tucker Kraft, Samuel Porta goes next.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, um I'll tell you what, at this point, I think I'm gonna, you know, I've been hearing a lot of great things about Jadarian Price a lot of Seattle like already at a young point. I'm not gonna take him just looking at my team having three running backs already. Yeah, already I don't necessarily want to go there, but he isn't me. I'm gonna take the guy who got paid. There's obviously an investment in him. I think Daniel Jones is gonna be starting week one. I'm gonna take Alec Pierce.
SPEAKER_01All right. I think I think that's a decent pick, yeah. Um, okay, uh Mikhail Lemon goes next from Andre Stevenson, Tony Pollard. I would like to get another running back. I'm gonna take a chance on uh Darien Price because I need I need another running back. So take a chance that he ends up being the guy there.
SPEAKER_00Um I mean the nice thing with you with your team too is like you still do have very two very consistent running backs. Yeah, Swift is gonna get the ball, and and then you have enough wide receivers to fill out your flag.
SPEAKER_01I do. Yeah, I was I also knew I need how to take another running back there because team 12 hadn't taken one. Yeah, they just took two in a row. So they took two, uh Rico Dowd and Kyle Menungay. Um now, oh man, I kind of want to take him too. Damn it. Um picks we got left. Three more after that. You know what? Screw it. I'm gonna do it. Uh I'm gonna go take JK Dobbins, the starting running back for the Broncos. So now I feel really good about my running back room where I was feeling terrible about it.
SPEAKER_00Like I'm pretty much locked in on wide receivers and running backs if you want.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, Parker Washington goes next. Justin Herbert, Jacoby Myers, and Bobby, you are back up.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, um, we're gonna wide a lot of quarterbacks top of the board right now, but yeah.
SPEAKER_03Um if I wouldn't have taken Amika, I would have gone Chris Godwin here to fill that. Yeah, it makes sense. Um I'm gonna go. This might be on a little bit of a limb here. Uh to me, Jordan Addison makes a lot of sense. I'm gonna take him. Okay. In the eighth round, I don't think that's crazy by any stretch.
SPEAKER_01Lake Coram goes 807, Ryan.
SPEAKER_00I was looking at him too. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Running backs got real thin now. Yeah. There's a f there's a few guys left. Uh the Vikings running backs. If you want to try to take a stab at who's Washington's gonna start.
SPEAKER_02Um It's true. Good luck. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, time of the board right now is mostly. Quarterbacks, which I don't have one yet, so I could do that. We got Jackson Darr, Caleb Williams, Dak Prescott, Trevor Lawrence. I know, I know. So I could go wide out. Uh we got Chris Godwin's up there. Ricky Pearsall.
SPEAKER_01Ricky Pearsall, Quentin Johnston.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, Michael Pittman. Hmm. You know, I think I'm I think I'm just gonna go Dak.
SPEAKER_01Dak, it is for Ron. Uh Ricky Pearsall goes next, then Jackson Dart, Quentin Johnston, Caleb Williams, Kenneth Gainwell, Chris Godwin, Michael Pittman, or Ronde Gadson.
SPEAKER_00Honestly, I don't feel too bad on Pickno because he would not have made it back. Not that that's a huge it would have been a huge major loss or anything, but still. Yeah. He would yeah, he would not have made it back. No, because the other two guys just went. Yeah. Okay, so then um, like Justin mentioned, I could use another wide receiver. So I think I'm gonna go with that Wandell Robinson.
SPEAKER_01He's gonna see a lot of targets, I think. Yeah, and I don't know how good the Titans are gonna be, but he'll see a lot of things.
SPEAKER_00He had a pretty good year last year. He was with the oh, but still, I mean he was over a thousand yards and stuff. Like he's a he's a good player.
SPEAKER_03Absolutely, Jack. I will tell you this right now. This is going to be George Kittle went. No, this is gonna be for me. Yeah, George Kittle went.
SPEAKER_00That's why we were just saying after me.
SPEAKER_03I am so excited. I think this guy is starting week one. Um, from everything I'm hearing, he is gonna be good to go for opening training camp. Talking about Patrick Mahomes, Trevor Lawrence. I think if he is fully healthy and not coming off this injury, he has picked 40 picks before this. Aaron Jones. And that is Patrick Mahomes. That is earner.
SPEAKER_01I'll be honest, Bobby. I think even if he was healthy, I don't know if he would get picked 40 picks earlier. I think he would be in like the seventh round. Which is still two rounds. Two rounds earlier, sure.
SPEAKER_03He's gonna be starting week one, mark my words.
SPEAKER_01He will it wouldn't shock me. Yeah, won't shock me if he's a little bit limited week one in terms of his ability.
SPEAKER_03I don't think so. I think they're giving him four full go or go.
SPEAKER_01That might he might be full go, Bobby, but coming off of a torn ACL, he will not be full go running around in the pocket like he normally does. Yeah, his mobility will probably be.
SPEAKER_03Also, last year it works for me because I took Rashi.
SPEAKER_01He he led their team in rushing last year. Yeah, that won't be happening this year. No, it won't. So he he has lower upside because of that rushing.
SPEAKER_03I still think getting him in the ninth is a win when you have Rashi.
SPEAKER_01Oh, I don't I don't disagree. He has also been 11th in quarterbacks past two years. Yes. Which yeah, so not like really not great the last couple years. It's fine, but even the year before it was eight. Well, the problem is he's been drafted as like a top three or four quarterback each of the last few years. 2022, he was first. Yeah, and and I think that's fine.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. I mean, it but that's where he's been vanishing.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, so I don't I think that's fair. Yeah. Uh Dalton Kinkid goes next. Team Nine took a second quarterback, Trevor Lawrence. Um Dalton or Dallas Goddard goes, and then I am up. I wanted George Kittle to follow to me for my tight end.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, so you got three picks left. You need to get a tight end and a quarterback yet?
SPEAKER_01I do indeed. So, um, let's see here. Tight end. What do I want to do?
SPEAKER_00There are a lot of them at the top.
SPEAKER_01There are. Um just trying to decide which one I want to have. Um I am gonna go with Oh god, what am I doing here? Uh I'm gonna go Travis Kelsey.
SPEAKER_00Good one.
SPEAKER_01Rock Party goes next, then Hunter Henry. Um coming back around.
SPEAKER_03I love Rock Party this year.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah, I think you could have a good year. I mean, he's been good a number of other years. Yeah, honestly. Um boy.
SPEAKER_00Uh I mean the two two of the four years that he's played most of the year, he was very he was good. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Do I want to go?
SPEAKER_00Justin, you back up.
SPEAKER_01I know.
SPEAKER_00I'm trying to decide if I want to go position player or quarterback now, or that's what I'm trying to decide. Um what's the top quarterbacks right now? Stafford, Bonex, Jared Goff. Oh, you're talking about goth?
SPEAKER_01I could do golf, but if I'm gonna do golf, I'm gonna wait. I could do that too. I think I'm gonna pass on that, though. He should go later in the drafts in that. Um gosh, I can't decide on this one. Sorry. Uh you know what? Um no, I'm not gonna do that. Uh I'm gonna go my quarterback right here. Go Stafford.
SPEAKER_00I've never even heard of this Jacori Krosky Merritt. Yes, you have. Have I? Oh yeah. He was a big deal. It looks so unfamiliar to me.
SPEAKER_01He was a big deal last year. Um, so I took Matt Stafford. Um, Jake Ferguson went next. Oh, I was really hoping he's gonna fall to me. Jake Ferguson?
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Why? Well, because I got Tucker Kraft and he's he might be hurt for the beginning of the year. I think he's gonna play. And I already have Dak Prescott as my title quarterbacks.
SPEAKER_01I do think he'll be playing week one. Uh Romeo Dobbs, Jacori Krosky, Merritt, and then Bobby, you are up. Yeah, I don't really love anything here. To be honest with you. I think there's a bunch of wide receivers and running backs on. Um you'd love Isaiah likely, Bobby. If I were you, Bobby, you go pick up a Minnesota. Yeah, either Aaron Jones or Jordan Mason.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I'm gonna go Aaron Jones just because of his receiving upside, I think. Okay. I'll take Aaron Jones.
SPEAKER_01I was gonna say for me, that's an that's an obvious choice, one of those two.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Jared Goff goes next. Which is where I was at, but I already have Jordan Addison too, so it's like I don't want too much of that Minnesota. But Jordan Addison is your fourth wide receiver. True. So it's not like he's a guy you're Jordan Jones is my fourth running back. They're not, it's not like those guys are guys you're starting every week. You're taking a chance trying to find a guy. True.
SPEAKER_00Um, I'm up. I am gonna go with Charbonnet.
SPEAKER_03I love I like that pick, too.
SPEAKER_01Jordan Love goes next, Jaden Reed, Khalil Shakir, Mark Andrews, Bo Nicks, Rakad White, Isaiah Likely, Brian Robinson. That's gonna be so confusing this year. Yeah. So Brian Robinson is now on Atlanta with B. John Robinson. I know I saw that and I was like, how is he still here?
SPEAKER_00But because it's not B.
SPEAKER_01Robinson. I hope they pick almost the same. I hope he picked changes his number to almost the same number as Bichon. So then people that have Bijan get super excited when he gets a touchdown, and it's actually Brian Robinson or something. Just totally screw people.
SPEAKER_03Oh, it won't happen. Robinson touchdown. I got my Bijan? Brian.
SPEAKER_00No, I got I got my last pick here, and I I think I I am just gonna make sure my tight end position is good, and I'm gonna take Sadiq. Kenyon Sadiq rookie for the Jets.
SPEAKER_01Okay. Stefan Diggs goes next without a team, but there's talk he might go to the commanders, so it wouldn't make a lot of sense. He had over a thousand yards this last year, so he's not done by any stretch.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I'm gonna pick a guy who I think has a ton of upside given his second year here. Um, I'm gonna take Matthew Golden at the software. I thought you were going. Okay.
SPEAKER_01So I I I think he is actually going to be wide receiver too. Jaden Reed will be the third guy.
SPEAKER_00They've they've talked that they want to use him more, so yeah.
SPEAKER_01Um, Jordan Mason goes next, then Brenton Strange, Josh Downs, which I'm disappointed he went. I was thinking about taking him. Um all right, just want to confirm here from looking. I feel really good about my four wide receivers, so I'm gonna take another chance at another running back. Um, and I'm gonna take Jonathan Brooks.
SPEAKER_00Sure.
SPEAKER_01With the upside that maybe he takes over some of the job from Chuba Hubbard or wins the job in the long run throughout the yeah, potentially.
SPEAKER_00I don't want to. Yeah, and then Jaden Higgins goes last. Jaden Higgins was the last pick.
SPEAKER_03Which he has upside too.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. So, all right. Um, Ryan, yeah, you picked at the one at the five pick. Yeah. You ended up with Jamar Chase, Amarian Hampton, Josh Jacobs, Zay Flowers, Quinshawn Judkins, Jordan Tyson, Tucker Kraft, Dak Prescott, Wandale Robinson, Zach Charbonnet, and Kenyon Sadiq.
SPEAKER_03I actually love your team.
SPEAKER_00It feels risky looking at it. You know, Josh Jacobs, maybe maybe the legal problems don't work, don't work with him.
SPEAKER_01I mean, running back, I think you're set with Hampton, Josh Jacobs. I think you're set there. I have no fears about Josh Jacobs being suspended.
SPEAKER_00Zay Flowers feels a little inconsistent. Tucker Kraft, you know, like he's he's coming off the ACL. But like, I think the team is good if it if it were to work out, though.
SPEAKER_01Your wide receivers scare me a little bit.
SPEAKER_00For the two and stuff?
SPEAKER_01For for the wide receiver two. I mean, Zay Flowers is consistent enough, but your third wide receiver, I mean, is a rookie, or you got Wandale. Yeah. That's my bigger fear on that. Yeah. That's that's my biggest fear, although he has the same offensive coordinator you just had.
SPEAKER_00Which is incredible.
SPEAKER_01Brian in Brian Dable. So that does help. Um, what was your favorite pick or surprise pick that you got, Ryan?
SPEAKER_00I think Tucker Kraft. In the seventh? Yeah. He was he was one that I was eyeing up the round before, and I decided not to take him. So I was pretty happy that he fell that far then.
SPEAKER_03Chase at five. My God.
SPEAKER_00I mean, Jamar Chase at five. Jamar Chase at five was is pretty crazy.
SPEAKER_01And I'll be honest, Amarian Hampton. Uh well, actually, I'll be Josh Jacobs in the third round for me, in the middle of the third to me, is a steal.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. I mean, Jamar Chase in a full PPR has been top 15 every all six, five, five, or five years.
SPEAKER_01You got him as running back, what? One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven, twelve, thirteen, fourteen. He was the 15th running back. Who? Judkins? No, Josh Jacobs. Oh, Jacobs. If if he plays the whole season, he will finish higher than that. I should I would bet money he finishes higher than running back 15. Yeah. So that that to me is um a very safe pick now in the the middle of the third. We'll see if he starts sliding back up. But yeah. Um, Bobby, all right. You had darn it. Uh, let's see. With one, you had the seventh pick, and you took um Jonathan Taylor, Brock Bowers, Rashi Rice, and what else do you got? I'm trying to pick your nah, it's not working. Okay, forget it.
SPEAKER_00Uh Bay Shell Tutin, Chuba Hubbard, Alec Pierce, Jordan Addison, Patrick Mahomes, Aaron Jones, and Matthew Golden for the last pick.
SPEAKER_01I I like your draft a lot. I I think it lined up well.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00The tight end early always kind of makes me makes me a little scared. But like Brock Bowers is just that good.
SPEAKER_01He is. To me, if you can get Trey McBride or Brock Bowers, although Trey McBride at the 201 is too early for me. Um if you can get him in the middle of the second, yeah. I'm I'm good with that.
SPEAKER_03Yep.
SPEAKER_01Um, but any sooner than the middle of the second to me feels is a little bit of a little there's too many good players still available that you that you can't pass on at running back and wide receiver.
SPEAKER_00It was kind of an odd like spot you were in, because like we were on like a middle of a running back just like like blitz.
SPEAKER_01Oh yeah. I mean five five went six went around you, yeah.
SPEAKER_00So four ahead, two behind. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_03Uh if I want to have taken Jonathan Taylor at the 107, I probably would have thought more about maybe like Amari and Hampton there.
SPEAKER_00I would have guessed you would have taken a running back. You'd have taken wide receiver the first round. Yeah, for sure. If you had JSN or something instead at your spot.
SPEAKER_03Yep, 100%. But because I already got that, I was like, I knew wide receivers coming back around.
SPEAKER_01Favorite pick is it Patrick Mahomes or no, it's Don Mahomes.
SPEAKER_03Um I don't think there's a Chuba Hubbard. I I really like Rashi in the third. I think he is in the same boat as Josh Jacobs. I really do. Yeah. In terms of um he should be around earlier, I think mid-second really makes sense. The fact Jeremiah Love is being picked a full round ahead of Rashi Rice is mind-blowing to me.
SPEAKER_01And before Josh Jacobs, honestly.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, so I I like that pick a lot. The other pick I really like is um I like Chuba in the sixth.
SPEAKER_04Okay.
SPEAKER_03I think you gotta remember Rico Dowell's gone. He well, I mean, you got you got a Jonathan Brooks who has literally seven carries in his NFL career. Not much coming back from two ACL injuries. It's it's gonna be the Chuba show, in my opinion. I think him in the sixth is a is a good win.
SPEAKER_00Honestly, I kind of like getting golden in like the 11th, too. I I do too. I think he's got massive upside down. It might be just because they're a Packer fan, but like I barely think about using him a lot more. He had really good you know spots. That's another year.
SPEAKER_03I'm understanding the playbook, too.
SPEAKER_00It's technically he he could be like a majority could take a major step forward here.
SPEAKER_01Now, whether or not he takes full advantage of him and becomes that guy, I don't know. Yeah, but he will have the full opportunity this year to do it.
SPEAKER_03Yep.
SPEAKER_01So if he shows he can do it, I mean he had his his upside is is right there. I mean, top 20 wide receiver, potentially. Yeah, on it honestly, yeah. I mean, if he if he shows to be that good.
SPEAKER_03I actually like the Alec Pierce pick too. Yeah, I like I actually really like my draft. I feel like it did okay.
SPEAKER_01Um, all right. I took Amon Ross St. I had the 11th pick. I took Amon Ross St. Brown, Saquon Barkley, T. Higgins, Devonta Smith, DeAndre Swift, Christian Watson, Darian Price, JK Dobbins, Travis Kelsey, and uh Matt Stafford, and Jonathan Brooks. I will say my my favorite. Well, I'm on Ross St. Brown at the 11. Um that's a to me is a steal.
SPEAKER_03In a full-point PPR, 100%. Full point PPR is a steal. But he should be a top eight pick, no problem.
SPEAKER_00Yes. I think I think you get I think you got a really good draft here, Justin.
SPEAKER_01I I I like it. I I don't love the running backs, although I liked where I came around at the end with JK J.K. Dobbins makes me made me feel a lot better about it.
SPEAKER_00I I honestly like Jadarian Price as your third. Like I mean, he's a rookie, so it's you know you don't really know.
SPEAKER_03But I'll be honest, for a full point PPR team, I don't hate your running backs because Barkley can catch the ball, so does DeAndre Swift. Yeah, they do. Um Jadarian Price is a I will tell you this right now. It will be different. This kid is that good. Yeah. And I I understand he was the number two at Notre Dame because Jeremiah Love was the starter. Well, right, yeah. But Jadarian Price is pretty slept on. The guy is very explosive. I think he is going to potentially take more away from Zach Charbonnet than Zach Charbonnet eating into him.
SPEAKER_00Well, just it just shows how awesome he was because he's the he was the second guy at Notre Dame and still got drafted that high.
SPEAKER_01As the number two running back in the draft.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, which is bananas.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Um, I I will still say, looking at all the drafts and stuff, I do tend to like I there's more players I like in like the top three picks, the spots that you're picking at.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_01I I like more what I can do with the team. Not that that these three teams that you know turned out good the way they did them, but obviously they're auto-drafted. So yeah.
SPEAKER_03All right, Ryan, which team would you take out the three out of the three drafted amongst us?
SPEAKER_00Um I don't know. I really like Justin's the wide receivers Justin got. That feels really good to me. I don't know. I I really Rashi Rice scares me, Bobby. I it's perfectly fine. I I think maybe What scares you about him? Or what what about him scares you? Well, the fact that like as talented as he is, he has not done all that well. Yeah, he has. When he's played, he's been a little bit. Yeah, but like while he plays, well, he hasn't played long. He was 40th in position rank last year, 99 the year before. Yeah, but he's played 16, four, and eight games. Which is encouraging.
SPEAKER_01No, it's not. That's not to be good. The the four-game season he blew out his ACL because Patrick Mahomes tackled him on accident. And then last year, did he get hurt again last year? Was he suspended? Or was he coming? He was coming back. I don't even remember. He was coming back and he was suspended both.
SPEAKER_00I mean, he's very talented. It's just like I I need to see like an actual full season of him again. That is the risk for sure.
SPEAKER_03He is definitely injury prone. You were gonna get it this year. I can tell you that.
SPEAKER_00So which one which one are you picking? I I think I'll tell I'll just take my own. I I really like the the wide receivers you got, Justin, but I think I'll I think I'll stick with my team.
SPEAKER_03Okay. Um I think I would probably take yours, Justin. Yeah. Yeah, I really like my draft, Ryan. Yours is third in my book. Not that I I I'm not I think your team probably has maybe the most upside, but is it not enough concrete?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I I love Ryan's first three picks. Like how it started. Yeah. And then after that, I'm just like, I just don't know.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, you've got upside. You've got upside, you could definitely have the best team on us by the end of the year, but there's not enough for me to be like, yeah, I'm taking that for sure. I think I'm gonna go with Justin just because I like Saquon, I like DeAndre Swift, I like Junior. I like the running backs to pair with the wide receivers. Travis Kelsey Leighton is is just a good pick. Yeah, same with Stafford. I would have preferred you have taken Goff. I thought about it instead of Stafford to stack with Amon, I would have liked that a little bit more.
SPEAKER_01My fear is Goff's very hit or miss in games.
SPEAKER_00He's not very consistent, he's not as consistent, so yeah, Stafford should score more points even if you're not getting the double ups.
SPEAKER_03And I really I really like my team a lot, but I think it goes with Justin's.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, uh I I let's see. I like the beginning of Ryan's to me, it just doesn't have the depth that I want. Yeah, I got I went I ended up going kind of risky in there. You got risky in like rounds four through seven. Yeah. So even Tucker Kraft's even not that risky to me at tight end in seventh round. But the I mean Quinchon Judgins should be good, but again, coming off an injury is Tyson. Tyson just scares me as your wide receiver three. That's more I just need something more proven.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, rookie for a team that you know was not is not supposed to be very good. I like Bobby's.
SPEAKER_01Um, I don't mind Rashi Rice. I mean, there's risk there, but you've got Pierce and Abuka. Um I like the running backs you have, Bobby, a lot because I like Taylor, I like Tootin, I like Chuba. I still think I like mine the most, though. I just the four wide receivers I ended up with, and with Barkley in there, I it's hard for me to pass those as even five starters.
SPEAKER_03So you know what's funny? You're at the end of the first round. Do you like your picks a little bit better now that you've identified?
SPEAKER_01I do like it better. I still there's still a lot of players that I like that are typically going at the front end of the draft, or at least when you're in those spots. Yeah. Like I I I think Derrick Henry is underrated this year in in drafts. I'm gonna tell you right now.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, he went three, two. You want to know a team I don't hate that was drafted. Yeah, what's that? I like team three. I don't think early, but I'm gonna say Bajan Robinson, Malik, AJ Brown, Jameson Williams. Love that start. Trayvon. Trayvion, I have no problem. Jalen Warren is a PPR running back. Marvin Harrison like that. Yep. Jackson Dart, I don't know. I don't love that. It's okay. Michael Pittman's fine in Pittsburgh. Jaden Reed. Has the upside. And Isaiah Likely, New York there.
SPEAKER_00I actually really like Team 3. Yeah, they went a little heavy on wideouts, but I don't mind.
SPEAKER_01The three running backs they have, though, I'm good with. Team one isn't horrible.
SPEAKER_03They just took two tight ends and two running backs. Well, yeah.
SPEAKER_01If they didn't do that, their team would have been fine. Yeah. But but and that's kind of why I like the beginning of the draft because there's the Nico Collins you can get in the third round, like the AJ Brown in the third round, Derek Henry in the third round.
SPEAKER_00Chase Brown went 212.
SPEAKER_01Chase Brown is available, you know, those guys are all guy, and and then not to mention, you're stacking that with somebody like a Jameer Gibbs, a Bijan, yeah, Jamar Chase is huge. In at the first three picks. So you can get these guys. I mean, you're telling me you you could I mean, in theory, you could take Jamar Chase, AJ Brown, and Derek Henry to start your draft.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Or you could take Jameer Gibbs, you know, and AJ Brown and Nico Collins. Yeah. Like that that's a heck of a good start to your team.
SPEAKER_03I really, yeah, team one, their first four picks, five picks, I like. Yeah. Yeah. Tibbs, Brown, Nico Collins, Devontae Adams, Jalen Waddle. I don't have a problem with that at all.
SPEAKER_01No. So um, yeah. So I I am taking pictures of all our mock drafts that we're doing now since the last one. We'll look at them at the end of the year, kind of do a review of like, okay, well, who Yeah, see how see how they look how these teams actually look and how do we actually feel about them?
SPEAKER_00Um and then it's kind of funny. It's like I like most teams' first like three picks. Like team eights got kind of a weird one. Good most of the time. Most of the time, yeah. But it's like it's it just kind of goes to show that like a lot of the early picks in the in in the direct, you know, for players are are good. That's why they're early.
SPEAKER_03Ryan, how many picks do you have in the armchair league?
SPEAKER_00Um a million. Um I have so many and you gave them all to me.
SPEAKER_01So in two weeks, we're gonna do um Should we do this in two weeks? Where we uh two players we really like and one we don't like in terms of ADP? Yeah, we could do it. Is it too soon?
SPEAKER_03No, I think that's actually fine. I think this is the time you want to get that out.
SPEAKER_01August 4th. Yeah, two days before the Hall of Fame game. That's fine with me. All right.
SPEAKER_03That's fine with me.
SPEAKER_01All right, we'll we're gonna do that then. So we won't we won't do a mock draft, but we'll probably have uh conversation right now. We'll have it pulled up, we'll have ADP pulled up though, and stuff. So yeah. Um okay. So I think that's what we're gonna do. We'll do that in two weeks, and then uh Ron and I will be talking about something, I'm sure, next week.
SPEAKER_00Oh my god. I just got the news that Ryan Clark was fired. Yeah, oh yeah, I got fired. From ESPN? Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01How do you feel about yourself getting fired from ESPN?
SPEAKER_00I didn't I mean like the pay the my pay I haven't even gotten a paycheck in like forever. Oh, yeah, it's tough.
SPEAKER_03You know, at Disney, you know, they they're pretty tight with that money, you know. Yeah. You know, they expect themselves. You need to prove yourself, yeah.
SPEAKER_00I know it's been years, but yeah, what a bummer.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah, no, I get ya. You know, do you think if you filed a lawsuit on his behalf, Ryan Clark, do you think Disney might just settle with you and not look into it enough? So like just a low level like I I need, you know, a hundred grand. Yeah, just like a million bucks and I'll stay quiet or whatever. I'm looking for a hundred grand for just file a wrongful termination. You were never even hired there, but they look at Ryan Clark and they're like, Oh, he needs a hundred grand now. All right, we'll give him a hundred grand. You know, just not even worth our attorneys looking at this. Maybe it's ten grand, twenty.
SPEAKER_00I'll promise that they'll never hear from me again. Yeah. I think that'd be fantastic.
SPEAKER_03All right. You might get sued by the actual Ryan Clark, though. You very well might be, yeah. Uh for the hundred thousand. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_03All right.
SPEAKER_01Well, thank you for listening, everybody, and we will talk to you next week. Take care, everyone. Bye.
