Season 3 Episode 1: A Collide with the Divine

What if the mind and the soul were never truly separate?

In this opening episode of Season 3, we explore the origins of the word psyche, the relationship between psychology and spirituality, and the possibility that what we’ve been taught to view as separate may actually be deeply connected.

Together, we’ll examine the soul, consciousness, intuition, the mind, and the many ways humanity has attempted to understand the unseen. We’ll explore the mystics, seers, prophets, healers, and seekers who have long stood beside truths that could be felt long before they could be proven.

What if psychology isn’t just the study of the mind?

What if it also contains a hidden longing to reconnect with something deeper?

And what happens when we begin questioning the separation between the mind and the soul in the first place?

This episode serves as the foundation for the journey we’ll be taking throughout Season 3 as we explore healing, consciousness, nervous system patterns, belief systems, self-awareness, and the spiritual worlds that each of us carry within.

Because perhaps the greatest journey isn’t becoming someone new.

Perhaps it’s remembering who we’ve been all along.

(melodic chime) Welcome back to a spiritual world podcast. We are officially back for season three. I am your guide, Toriea, transmitting alchemy and mystical psychology, psyche, soul, whatever we wanna call it for all of our days. Season three is different guys because we're not just talking about things anymore. We are proverbially stepping into them and I wanna start here. We're just gonna actually dive right in. So when I say I wanna start here, holding no punches back, beating around no bushes, we are in it to win it. So what we wanna start with in this first episode of season three is the word psyche, right? Do you know what the word psyche means? Do you know where it comes from? Because that's what we're about to dissect today because we hear the word all the time. It's the root word of psychology and psychological. You might hear somebody in the mental health field or just in general say they've got a strong psyche. And somewhere along the way, this word got translated into meaning mind. But if you actually go back to the root of the word, psyche means soul. Not just thoughts, not just emotions, not just personality. It means the animating essence of you. So now we've got something to dissect and reconnect, right? Because that's what we're doing with ourselves in this journey. We're consistently dissecting and reconnecting. We are spiritual scientists. So let's get our markscrap out. Psychology today is defined as the study of the mind. And originally it was the study of the soul, back when her medics and, you know, we weren't so disconnected from the self. So what really happened? Did we evolve or did we narrow something down so we could understand it? Was it all because the mind was more tangible than the soul? Because the mind and the brain were correlated as the same thing for a very, very long time. And to some, maybe even still is. So we want to bridge these things together. So let's bring this out of theory for a second. When you think of your soul, what do you actually experience? Not what you've been told, not what sounds right. What do you feel? Is it inside of you? Is it outside of you? Is it both? Take a moment to think about your soul and really get or feel a glimpse of it. Don't worry, I'll wait a couple minutes, seconds. I'll give you a moment of peace.(silence) Great. Now, I will share that when I tune into mind, it doesn't feel like something small inside of my body. It feels like a field, like something that exists within me and around me at the same time. And if I really focus, I can feel it move. Sometimes it expands out of my heart space. And sometimes it wraps around me. Sometimes it feels like it's responding to what I'm saying or thinking. What about yours? Could you sense any of that? Now, let's test another theory and let's focus on your mind. When you think of it, where is it? Same exercise, different part. Can you feel it? What does it feel like? Where does it show you it is? For me, it's like waves emanating all throughout and around my head space. And for my soul, I felt energy moving all around me and a very specific stream running from my heart outward into what we call the tourist field around my body. So now we have to ask, is the tourist the soul? Is the mind the soul? Or are they each a mechanism within the soul? Because when we start layering in all these words, higher self, over soul, spirit, are these all different things? Or are they just different ways of describing the same thing from different angles? Or are they characteristics? Layers or both? One of the simplest ways I've been able to understand it without over complicating it is this. Your body is the anchor. Your mind is the translator. Your field, that tourist, is the filter. And your soul is the intelligence organizing it all and responding to it all based on previous experiences and programming, which then, guess what, circles us back to the body, mind, and field. And the over soul can't forget about it is that expanded version of you beyond just this one expression. That over soul is everyone around you. All the communities and the nature and the people and the family and the friends, it's never separate. It's just layered. Now we're going to bring a little bit of my favorite subject in her medics for a second, please. Thank you. The all is mind, right? We will beat this into our heads. Until we are the living dead. So the all is mind. Is the mind creating the soul then? Or is the soul expressing through the mind? When you think, I don't think there's any wrong answers. That's for sure. And what I've come to through experience, not just the leaf, is that the mind feels more like an interpreter, a transmitter, a communicator, a linguistics major. The soul is the signal that the mind translates. And thought is the language that makes it visible. So when we say things like you create your reality through your thoughts, what we're really saying is, your soul is impressing itself into reality through the medium of mind. And this is where things split a little in the real world, maybe because we have science and we have no sense. Science says, prove it, baby. And no, this says experience it. And throughout history, there have always been people who trusted that direct experience, mystics, sears, witches, oracles, druids, prophets, wizards, all different names, all the same currents, not because they all believe the same things. It was because they all trusted what they knew internally before it could be proven externally. And then we have the rest of the world that says, I'll stand beside it when it's proven. And neither is wrong. They just move at different speeds. And they move at different speeds based off of the soul's experiences and programming. It's not just the programming of societal paradigms and genetics. It's also the programming of our blueprint before we even enter physical form. As with ends, so without as above, so below, everything reciprocates and mirrors. So now we come back to this. Are the soul and the mind the same thing? Or are they different? And maybe the better question is, are they two parts of the same system? Because your mind can question, it can doubt, it can analyze. Your soul doesn't really argue. It just it's, it moves, it knows, it responds, it expands and contracts. It connects. So maybe it's not that they're identical and it's not that they're separate. It's that they are interdependent. The soul initiates, right? Think about our blueprint and how we're meant to meet certain people along the way that help our souls evolution. And so if the soul initiates, then the mind translates those experiences as they're brought into our present reality. And you as the human spiritual perfect being that you are, live it. So and then there's the question of, why do some people even think like this? Why do some people feel into this and others don't, right? Because I'd love it if I maybe knew more people that thought and think and dissect and reconnect like me in my physical hemisphere. But like you, you've probably experienced the burdening of awakening and isolation at some point in time or another. And that's because most of the time our awakenings are not random. It's more so what we'll call sensitivity. It's life experiences that break the surface of reality. It's a pool towards something deeper that just doesn't go away. And it's the honoring of experiences as they are. It's ultimately those small breaths of acceptance. So what gives some of us this ability, right? Or this awareness, this expansive ability to evolve. Is that the soul? Would you say yes or no? Or is it the mind? Yes or no? I would say yes to both. Because the mind is what gives us language. Remember we called it a linguistics major. So the mind is the translator of the soul's journey. That interdependence, remember? It's all right there. So today, I've given you a lot of questions, a lot of dissection. And it's all leading somewhere I promise. But today, this is where I want to leave this. Because this part feels just as important as anything else. What if when we look at the word psychology, the study of the mind, what we're actually touching is a kind of lament, not in a dramatic sense, not in a broken sense, but in a quiet, ancient way, a kind of hidden grief, the grief of something that was once known as whole, now being studied as if it were separate. Which, technically, if you really think about it, mirrors the exact reflection of consciousness and our own incarnation, being separated from source and its divine knowing connection. What if psychology, as we know it in the modern day, is ready for its bridge back to wholeness? The mind being examined and the soul being felt and somewhere in between, a gap was named a whole or a land was divided. And we've learned to live inside that gap this whole entire time. We learned to think about ourselves instead of thinking from ourselves. We learned to analyze the waves instead of remembering we are the ocean. So what if the mind has been searching for the soul, this entire time? And what if the soul has just been waiting for the mind to remember how to listen? Because in all truth and reality, they were never truly separate. Maybe the separation is just an experience in itself. And the desire to understand yourself, the desire to go deeper, to figure out your patterns, your thoughts, your reactions, the desire to be the change. Maybe that's not confusion. Maybe just maybe that's the beginning of your fiery reunion. So I want you to just sit with this. You don't have to answer it, not to find it. When you think who is aware of the thought, when you feel what is holding the feeling and in that sacred space is there really ever a separation? Or have you just been taught to see one? We'll go much deeper into that in the next episode. Because if the psyche is the soul and the mind is its voice, then what does it actually mean to hear yourself clearly?
