In the first episode of United Voices, children share their ideas about friendship, kindness, belonging, and what it means to feel welcome. Through honest conversations, stories, and reflections, they remind us that creating inclusive communities often starts with simple acts such as smiling, inviting someone to play, asking how they are, and showing kindness to others.

The children talk about the people they love, the qualities they value in themselves, and how they help new classmates feel included. They also share memories of starting school, feeling nervous, and the difference it makes when someone reaches out with friendship.

United Voices is a podcast that listens to children and learns from their experiences, ideas, and wisdom. In this episode, children show us that everyone deserves to feel welcomed, valued, and connected.

Thank you for listening and please leave us a review on Apple or Spotify as it will help the children's voices and messages echo out into the world. We are on Instagram @caspr.ie

This is called United Voices. The reason we're here is because kids are very clever about how to be friends, aren't they? So kids are sometimes way better at things than we are. So we want to learn from you, right? We want to learn how to make people feel welcome.

How do you guys make people feel welcome? Say nice things. Playing. Playing.

Happy. So I feel welcome maybe when someone comes to me and talks to me and asks me, oh how you're feeling or what's your name. Smile.

Love your brothers and sisters. I love my family. I love my sisters.

Kind with the smiley face and I wrote love yourself and be yourself. Kind world. Be loving.

The rules is like don't run around when they say run around. Don't be pushing each other. When you're like running and be careful.

I wrote I love me, I love me, I love me, I love me, I love me and I love my mum. I like that I'm kind. I like that I have lots of friends and I like that um that I'm helpful.

She brings me everywhere. Have you ever had anyone new in your class? Yeah. And how did you guys all welcome them? Playing with them.

That's really important, isn't it? Well the first day of school. So like I was crying because I was a bit nervous and I didn't know anyone. Asked them to play with me.
