Pt 8 "Suffering: A Biblical Perspective" (Episode 29[03/03/2025])

In this eighth and final part of the current series, "Suffering: A Biblical Perspective", Your Hosts(Pastor Matney and Bro. Derek Rich) emphasize how our understanding of God's Will, specifically as it relates to suffering, must be consistent with His desires that are expressed as possible, even if they do not seem probable due to a fallen world and human tendencies. Even Jesus, who was cognizant of the Scripture's prediction that He would be despised and rejected, wept over His people's(Israel) rejection of Him because it was contrary to God's Will.  A couple of such divinely desired possibilities are that all be Saved and come to Repentance, and that His people(Believers) live godly, honest lives in peace and tranquility. Fascinating insights into the Apostle Paul's perspective on persecution are shared from the Book of Acts, as well as a special look into the statement in Hebrews 5:8b that says Jesus "...learned obedience by the things which he suffered;".  Ultimately, the listener is exhorted to not accept false narratives about suffering, even if emotionally stimulating, because they give place to that from which we Redeemed and over which we were given the Right in Christ to resist.  "The Shield & Sword Podcast" is a Ministry of the FULL GOSPEL FAITH MINISTRIES.
