It's Not Summer Without You (ft. Coney Island)

This episode is part two of three in the Summer I Turned Pretty series. If you haven’t listened to episode 7, it is highly recommended before listening to this episode. At first read, this entire series is super cheesy and childish. It’s Not Summer Without You is honestly really annoying at times. Sure it’s not for everyone. For book lovers out there like us that see this series for more than a YA novel, there is still so much that it has to offer. You either love this series or you hate it, and you already know we love it.

We left off with our two favorite love birds finally confessing their feelings for each other. We pick up book 2 continuing to follow the love story between Belly and the Fisher boys but there’s some more plot twists and sub plots that we get along the way.  The story continues about not only love, but also loss, growth & family. We get to hear from dual POV’s and see characters deal with things that are out of their control. That’s why the song featured in this episode isn’t a clear love song - it’s a really sad song, apologetic and regretful that deserves a lot more appreciation. It’s called Coney Island from the Evermore album but ironically enough it’s not about an amusement park. I guess you’re just gonna have to listen to the episode to understand this beautiful metaphor.
