Welcome back everybody to the Digital Fire podcast. Before we start, we're gonna crack a cold one with the boys.
SPEAKER_03That was pretty good. That was pretty good. I think, yeah, because the last one I don't think we were thinking that one. Oh man.
SPEAKER_00Ooh, the cucumber ones. I'll say it's interesting.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it's got a unique flavor to it. Like, you can obviously taste the cucumber.
SPEAKER_00You can 100% taste the cucumber.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, but it's like, I don't know, it's like it's almost oddly refreshing. That's what I was gonna say. Yeah, it's way more refreshing than like the regular green tea, or even like my favorite is the black and white tea, but it's way more refreshing than the black and white tea. It's crazy good.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it's it's good. And it has still has like the sweet from the green tea in there. A little like it's it's a little more subtle this time around, but it's that's a good one.
SPEAKER_03I don't even drink the regular green teas anymore unless there's nothing else available because it's almost overpowering the sweetness. Yeah, like from all the Arizona teas that I've tasted, like it's probably the green tea, it's good still. It's not like bad, but it's definitely more overpowering compared to like the black and white tea or the cucumber or even the Rizzler. That's just sitting around display.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that's my collection table. He's gonna stay there. I love it.
SPEAKER_03I love how fat they made him, even though he is fat, but he is, but they really they really did him dirty in that can.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, they did. It's funny though. I really want to try the the hot honey one, which I think I'm gonna Hot Honey. Arizona teas that the spicy spicy ones.
SPEAKER_03That's what I forgot to get. I was so I was at the the liquor store to get these, and I saw the spicy uh like green tea, and I was like, I don't know why. I'm just so nervous of buying them because I feel like they're gonna like bite back, you know what I mean? Like it's gonna have a kick. I doubt they're very very spicy. Probably not. It's probably got like a a kick of flavor to it, but probably not like a flaming hot cheetah with like California Reaper, you know, in it. You know what I mean? That would be crazy.
SPEAKER_00You'll have to tell me what gas station or liquor store you go to so I know where to buy them.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, they're dude, they're good. And they always stock up on like all their Arizonas because that they done the guys know me. So I'm I'm just pretty much a regular at this point. I at least stop by once a week.
SPEAKER_00Hey, yeah, gotta have your place.
SPEAKER_03Exactly. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00All right. Uh, I don't really have too much to intro talk about.
SPEAKER_03So if you have anything else, otherwise Yeah, we've been uh playing some Animal Crossing. Oh, yeah, we have. Yeah, for those of you who don't know, Animal Crossing is a really fun game.
SPEAKER_00Um what would you describe its genre?
SPEAKER_03Because I was trying to describe it to my parents and I didn't know like uh I don't know because it's not like an RPG where it's like it could be, I guess, an RPG, like a role-playing game. Yeah, but it's not because it's not like you level up per se. Right. But it's it's more of like if think about the Sims, but just like Nintendo fied, pretty much, yeah, and a lot more cute, yeah, and a lot more cute because the villagers and animals, some of them are cute and some of them are ugly, like an ape that you had in your guy was gross, yeah.
SPEAKER_00But I like long gone though, no.
SPEAKER_03Anka's my favorite still. Um, the Egyptian cat. She's pretty cool because before everything happened with her, it was like she was just like one of the rare animals to get, kind of like Raymond or whatever, the two-eyed cat. I forget what it is when you have two different eye colors, what it's called, but it starts with an H. I know that.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I don't I don't know what it's called either.
SPEAKER_03But yeah, it's a very fun game. It's very addicting for those of you who don't know. And then, oh man, I gotta send you a screenshot later of my passport. So in the game, like you create a passport and it shows your like little villager with a picture, and it says when you registered on the island, and mine says March of 2020, like back when COVID was like announced. That's when it first came out, too. Yeah, it came out, dude. It was perfect, perfect in a way. Like marketing intentionally, like because they knew like the whole world was gonna close down. So they're like, Oh, everybody's gonna have to stay inside. So, hey, let's play Animal Crossing. What if they banned people from going to each other's islands? Yeah, or you had to wear a mask, you had to buy a mask in-game to just go to the island.
SPEAKER_02Oh man.
SPEAKER_03Or get a vaccine somehow. They just add a doctor character, and it's like you have to have the Animal Crossing COVID shot.
SPEAKER_00Oh, good crazy.
SPEAKER_03That'd be funny. Then it definitely was planned at that point. Yeah. Anyway, I guess that's the intro, right there.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I was I would describe it as a Sims. Yeah. Like a Sims type game, because you I just think it's more fun.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it's way more fun than Sims. Like, don't get me wrong, like I grew up on Sims, but like it, I feel like Animal Crocking is definitely by far the most superior. I never played the GameCube one. I played all the other ones, like I played the GameCube one eventually, but I played I started with Wild World for the for the DS. The DS. Yeah, that one was that one's the first introduction to Animal Crossing.
SPEAKER_00That one like really changed it because you could have like different hats and sunglasses.
SPEAKER_03But I think with that one, it didn't involve an upstairs if I'm correct. It just had the three big rooms, like downstairs and like the the main room, and then it had a basement, and that was it, I think. I think I know it's definitely the three big rooms that you can.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, for some reason they like changed it each year. Like, this house is different, and then this one is it's like, why? Why did you do that?
SPEAKER_03And then there was city folk, and that one was really fun. Um, and then there was what New Leaf, I think was next.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that's the only one I didn't play.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, that one that one was okay. That was the introduction to like where you were the mayor and whatnot, and then you got to do a bunch of stuff, like you could move stuff in the city, you can move stuff in your town, do whatever, and then yeah, and now there's New Horizons. I guarantee you they're gonna probably make another one for the Switch 2.
SPEAKER_00I wonder what it's gonna be called.
SPEAKER_03Same. I don't know what it would be because New Horizons Horizons 2. Do they would they would play on the Nintendo Switch 2 at that point? I love how it sounds contradicting, maybe and hip hypocritical, but I like how it's like I hate the fact that the Nintendo Switch 2 is just called the Switch 2 versus like how PS5 has like five versions of PS1, PS2, PS3, and then I mean Xbox even comes up with better stuff, like they're like Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S or X or whatever.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, but it's still got the Xbox in there, yeah.
SPEAKER_03And now they've rebranded from Xbox to Xbox. It's weird. There's a new CEO, and she's like, we're rebranding Xbox to Xbox. Okay. What? Yeah, it's weird, but like they're trying to go back to like where they have exclusives and all that other stuff, like for that console.
SPEAKER_00I just heard that Halo is not gonna be exclusive to Xbox.
SPEAKER_03You can buy it on PS5 right now.
SPEAKER_00That's so weird.
SPEAKER_03It is weird. Yeah, a lot of and some of the Gears of War games are also on uh PS5 now, too.
SPEAKER_00Was that Xbox exclusive?
SPEAKER_03So it's kind of like how Uncharted, The Last of Us, and um oh, what's another one? God of War. God of War was like a PlayStation exclusive. They um they're now trying to do it where now to get people to buy the consoles, like they're gonna start doing exclusive. PlayStation's still doing that too. They're gonna just start doing like, yeah, we're gonna continue the PlayStation exclusives. Because as far as I know, I don't think there's any God of War for Xbox or anything like that, or Uncharted. I think it's just been strictly PS5. Like, or well, PlayStation in general, you know what I mean. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Also, what's that little cup right there? Is that an actual cup cup or is that like a pencil holder?
SPEAKER_00Oh, I was like we got it from some Chinese company that we work for, work with. That's pretty cool looking. Yeah, I know. They just like send us these cool little like trinkets, gifts, I guess. Yeah. Yeah, it looks pretty cool. It is. Not gonna lie. I wonder how much it's actually worth. Well, it should be worth like thousands. Right. Millions.
SPEAKER_03It has like it's completely like coated in silver. And then it just like And I never knew. Yeah, you never knew this entire time. That'd be crazy.
SPEAKER_00Alright. Shall we? Jump in.
SPEAKER_03I was trying to just not do anything after that just to see how everybody would react. Because I always find it funny when the ring, the rainbow sound happens. It's just great.
SPEAKER_00Alright, this is number one. It's titled When Your Girlfriend Is Too Much of a Sports Fanatic.
SPEAKER_03That's kind of a first one for me. I've never had like girls that have been like really big sports fanatics, you know what I mean?
SPEAKER_00I've never dated them, but I have seen them before at like sports bar. Oh sports bars or like a B dubs or something like that. Like a B dubs or something. Which is probably where they go. They mingle. They mingle. Hey guys, thought I'd write in on something that I've been dealing with for a while. My girlfriend is too much of a sports fanatic in public, and it has been a big embarrassment for me for a while now. Sounds so upset.
SPEAKER_03Like this is the worst thing that's ever happened.
SPEAKER_00Could be the way that I'm reading it too, but uh I mean, that would be the worst thing that could ever happen to you. If you had a sports fanatic girlfriend, ugh.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I know. Crazy. Dump her immediately.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. She even hints at liking sports, get rid of her.
SPEAKER_03Worse than a Disney adult.
SPEAKER_00Oh, that's a hard one.
SPEAKER_03That is a hard, that's a close tie right there. That is a close tie.
SPEAKER_00Disney adults are so weird. Like, it's fine if you like Disney, but I can't I can't walk around with like your mi Mickey Mouse ears.
SPEAKER_03You you remember Kelsey, my last girlfriend I had? Yes. She was a Disney adult. Uh-oh. It was insane. Like, we had to go to like Disney movies, and the last one we went to was it was like the Kraken one, where it's like, it's like a family who disguises themselves as like they they try to blend in with the human world, but they're really Krakens, and they're they're in war with the mermaids or something like that. And there's like a mermaid's daughter who like killed another Kraken thing, and they're like, Oh, we don't have to fight. Well, you know, they use the power of friendship and girl power to save the day. Was it a good movie? No, that's why that's why I heard of it. It was awful. I literally, Kelsey, even at the end, she noticed and she was like, Did you not like it? I was like, that was unbearable. I would rather watch paint dry than sit here and watch that again. Wow, that must have been bad. Yeah, it was. I just don't care for Disney movies anymore. I just don't. They're not interesting. It's the same moral values every time.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it's like the same story, but just different characters.
SPEAKER_03Right. I think the last one I really enjoyed was probably Encanto.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that one was fun. I think that's the last one I ever watched.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, because that one was like, we don't talk about Bruno, no, no, no. We don't talk about Bruno.
SPEAKER_00Wow, we got a musical number today.
SPEAKER_03We do. I should be a Disney adult national.
SPEAKER_00Gotta get the cameras on here, and you have to wear your Mickey Mouse ears. All right. I'm okay with going to games and whatnot and having us cheer and maybe even wear a jersey, but that's at a game. Recently we went out with friends to watch the game at a bar, and she still dressed up with the jersey and acted like it was one of the most exciting things to be happening. Mind you, normally mostly guys do this sort of thing, but I consider those guys kind of losers, not trying to be mean. Wow, could you use a better word then if you weren't trying to be mean? I was gonna say losers, but I'm not trying to be mean. Who are these losers? I mean, who goes to the bar to scream at the TV while drinking beer with the backwards baseball cap on?
SPEAKER_03You know, to be honest, I have seen that before. Like I've been at like a spitting image right there. Yeah, like so. There was this bar I used to go to called the Glasshouse House downtown, and on game night, oh my god, it was terrifying. Like you get because obviously there's people that are drunk in there or have had a little bit too much and they're not fully drunk at a bar that they're buzzed. Yeah, I know, crazy. And they're sitting there and they're like on the table, like pounding on it, and then you see them, their veins popping out of their neck because like the Michigan, like Michigan Wolverines like scored a touchdown. Like, like it's crazy, dude. I want to know the psychology behind that. Like how somebody can be that obsessed with sports, yeah, or just like anything.
SPEAKER_00Like, even if it's like you're at a concert and someone's the people do that too. Yeah, like Morgan Wallin just walks up and they're like, We love you, Morgan!
SPEAKER_03And then they like throw their t-shirt up and he goes, Long live cow girls. Yeah, and then start freaking out.
SPEAKER_00Like, I just I don't get it.
SPEAKER_03Right.
SPEAKER_00I can't understand it.
SPEAKER_03I can't either. That's like very obsessive, like fan disorder or something like that. I don't know if that's what they want to call it.
SPEAKER_00Obsessive fan disorder. Yeah, OFD. We've come with a new disease. Perfect. All right, so he says, who does that with a backwards baseball cap on? My girlfriend does. That's who, minus the baseball hat. Back to the story. The most recent was last week at the bar, and we all showed up to watch the cubs play. Ooh. Of course, all my friends look at me like I'm a loser, even though she is the one who is dressed up. Some of the guys in our group do it too, but not to this extent. And anytime the cubs either mess up or get a run, she screams, shouts, cheers, goes, Woo!
SPEAKER_03We're gonna need an audio clip next time.
SPEAKER_00And every yeah, we do. And everyone is looking at us. There's always some people who behave this way, and maybe it's because she's a girl, but it is the most embarrassing thing to happen to me every time. She's just screaming at the top of her lungs. I could give more examples, but they are all just the same instances. My question is, how do I continue seeing her if she is seriously this annoying around public? It's so awful. How do I talk to her about this? Am I in the wrong? It sounds like he just needs to leave.
SPEAKER_03It does. I'm just like imagining like how like a much of a fanatic she is. Do you remember Flubber?
SPEAKER_00Oh, with Robin Williams.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, with Robin Williams. There's a scene because his wife is uh, or who is it? I think it maybe it is his oh no, it's like his like uh friend or something like that that he he actually likes or something at the university, and they're at a basketball game and he's trying out the spray on flubber, so he put them all on the bottom of the basketball player's shoes and stuff, and so he's waiting for it to kick in. But there's this guy who's like shooting him down, like saying, Oh, you're dumb for making flubber or whatever, it ain't gonna work, and he's behind him. He's behind him, and he has a wadded up newspaper, like because if you get a really good size wadded up newspaper and you smack it against something hard, it's like a freaking cannon going off, and he's smacking him on the head with it. Like when they score, he goes, like he's smacking, and the guy's like ah, like he looks behind, and then he does the air horn in the ear. Like, please, and I'm like, This is what this girl's like when she goes to like an actual Cubs game. I was like, if she's like that, I'm not gonna lie, that's a keeper. But if she's just like a really intense, like she's smashing glass bottles and like throwing chairs or whatever, smash.
SPEAKER_00It doesn't say that she's throwing chairs.
SPEAKER_03That is true.
SPEAKER_00Also, how do you remember that from Flubber? Because I don't remember anything but that from that movie except that Robin Williams was in it and the little green guy because he was alive, right?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, he was alive. Um, and then there there was uh I forget the robot's name, but there was a flying robot he invented, and it was yellow, and it had like it was like a little cylinder thing. Like I'm gonna use this thing, you guys can't see it, but it's like a little cake case or something. Yeah, it's that shape, and it had little fins that came out for like hands. Phoebe, that was her name.
SPEAKER_00I'm gonna have to look this up afterward, the movie, yeah, or at some point, because I I don't remember any of that.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, no, so and then the guy came. Somebody, I think it was I don't know if it was the guy or somebody else broke into Robin Williams' home uh in the movie, and then he destroyed FIBO with robot, and then he built a new one. Uh I don't know if it still had the same memory from the old FIBO, but I think the old FIBO bot had the voice of his like wife that died, or something like that, is like why it was like, no, FIBO, that was my wife, or something like that. So he created that robot for like a companion and stuff like that. So he was like just a smart genius or something like that. Yeah, but that movie, it has some good moments in it. Robin Williams, oh man, I miss that guy. He he was funny, he was just the dry humor, like just dad humor, kind of guy.
SPEAKER_00And those movies he was, yeah. And his stand-up comedy was another story.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, his stand-up was, yeah. But he also used to go to uh the what like uh what do you call it? He used to go like army bases and other like things for like our US Army and stuff, and he would like do a comedy for him, a comedy routine.
SPEAKER_00So do you think that he actually killed himself, or do you think somebody else did it?
SPEAKER_03I to be honest with you, I think he probably did because he already talked about how he had like very severe depression. Yeah. Um the only question I have is how it was done essentially. I won't go off obviously over it on here because we're keeping it somewhat peer. Yeah, but the way that call. Yeah, but the way that it happened, it was kind of like it was it's still questionable in a way, but I really Oh yeah, yeah, I do. Okay, but it's still more or less like I believe he actually did do something. So okay, but yeah, um fair enough, yeah. So so aside from that though, um, yeah, I think this guy needs to like if I don't know, he said he hasn't talked to her, correct? Correct. So I would probably see like maybe not word it as in like so why do you get so obsessed over games? Like in that tone.
SPEAKER_00How do you talk to someone about that?
SPEAKER_03Well, I'd just be like more or less like uh, I don't know, like I would probably approach it as in like, hey, so I got a random question, like oh, I'm trying to think of how to even word it. It's kind of hard. Um so why are you a freak?
SPEAKER_00I guess it would be hard because it's like you have to talk to them because it's like embarrassing you, right?
SPEAKER_03Or you could like maybe phrase it like, you know, I'm not saying anything bad, but why are you a freak? You know, when it comes to sports and stuff like that. Like, why do you get really intense over these sports? You know what I mean? Yeah, and then go from there. But yeah, if she just like, I don't know, at that point, she just like pushes you down and blows an air horn in front of your face, then it's probably time to dump her at that point. Stefan, why would she do that?
SPEAKER_01Imagine she pushes him down on the couch and then just touch down, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Um, I don't know what you would do.
SPEAKER_03That would be my thing, is just ask about it. Other than like leaving, but I would say if she just refuses to like calm down, or it's fine if she goes out by herself and does it, but maybe if like like you know, she's with him, tone it down a bit.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, or maybe she just needs to do that when they're at their house.
SPEAKER_03Right. That'd be kind of scary though, because think about it. What if she's if what if she is the type to throw stuff and they have like a big 60-inch flat screen? She just grabs a bar stool for their kitchen and smashes the TV, smashes the TV, or breaks a window and jumps out. That's the fifth one this year. We can't get it warrantied out again. They just have to, yeah, imagine it. That guy would have to be loaded then because he'd have to be buying TVs like crazy. Kind of cheap now, for the most part. No kidding. Yeah, you can get like a brand new, like even a 60 or 70 inch at Walmart for like 200 bucks. It's crazy. And there's smart TVs too. Yeah. I got my uh 50 inch, like oh, it was at Mayfield when I got it. Because it was in 2018, I believe. I think it was early 2018, because I got my taxes back and I bought um and I bought the TV because it was a Black Friday deal for like 150 bucks. And that was cheap. It's a Visio. Um, or no, it's oh yeah, well, no, it's not a Visio, it's a Roku. It's a Roku smart TV. Um yeah, and it was 150 bucks for a 50 inch. I was like, I'm buying that, especially for Smash Bros. Heck yeah. Smash Bros came out that same year. It was in December, I think. It came out like December 23rd, I think it was.
SPEAKER_00Either that or ride around Christmas time.
SPEAKER_03Perfect timing. Yep, buy your super Smash Brothers copy today.
SPEAKER_00I just can't believe it's still 60 bucks, but we don't need to go over that right now.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, and Nintendo's pricing is crazy. That is true. Also, also, Call of Duty's pricing is crazy too because PlayStation has like all the rest of their games like on sale, like 99% of the time, or it's like way cheaper if it's an older game. But then you go to Call of Duty and like Call of Duty Black Ops 3 is still 60 bucks. It's crazy.
SPEAKER_00That's because people buy it. I'm not a huge Call of Duty fan. I don't I don't get it.
SPEAKER_03I I mean I guess I can see where people would like it, but I just Warzone is like the only fun thing about Call of Duty now, and then they're coming out with Modern Warfare 4, which actually looks pretty cool because it's set in like your Korean soldiers. And I don't know if it's set in North Korea or South Korea, but it's supposed to be something along the lines of that. But it's supposed to be really dark and gritty, and then Price and Ghost are in it. So again, yeah. Well, Modern Warfare, it's weird because they like redid Modern Warfare from like how we knew it. Yeah. So like you know how Modern Warfare 2, it was like Shepard that like betrayed whatever? Ghost, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00He like throws the lighter on them.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, he throws the lighter on them or whatever, and so they redid it to where it's like a new timeline. So it's like a different universe, so to speak. Or it could happen before all that. Well, they did do that. Modern Warfare 2019 was when the team first started. Because at the end of the end credits, you see Price and that one girl sit down, and he's like, I have five special operators. And then he goes, such a ghost, nobody's seen his face, no known pictures, like stuff like that. And then there's soap. And I'm trying to think of the other ones, but yeah, it's like it's weird because it's like a different timeline. Okay. But it's the same premise of missions because Shepard's still in the game, it's just more modernized, like to where it's like current wartime thing. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00So it's still cool, but all right, cool. Yeah. All right. Well, I don't really know how to answer that guy's question, other than like either leave her or sit down and talk to her.
SPEAKER_03I would sit down, talk to her, and then just be like, hey, if you can tone it down, that'd be cool. And then feed her some cheese and wine before you have it. Give her a bag of cheese or something like that. I don't know. But yeah, other than that, if she just continues to be like really hostile during games, kind of thing, like she just cannot complain.
SPEAKER_00Or even just like excited, like happy excitement is still kind of annoying.
SPEAKER_03Right. Well, I mean, it depends on I would say. Because like if you're like seeing like a game or something, you're like, yes, they scored, you know, like that. That's cool.
SPEAKER_00That's fine. I'm talking about the people who are like, yeah, oh yeah, they're screaming. Like you're in public. Come on.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, no kidding. Or pounding on the tables.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, like what you said earlier. People just, I don't know. All right, should we move on to number two? Yeah. I that was like perfect pitch, too. Like, yeah. I never thought I would be writing one of these emails, yet here I am. Typing this while being stared down by 12 stuffed animals from across my bedroom.
SPEAKER_03That sounds terrifying. Yeah, what if I hope they don't have cameras? They're all Annabelle dolls.
SPEAKER_00Ooh. Well, she did say stuffed animals, not just stuffed dolls. So hopefully they are just like bears and stuff. It's still a hug and bear baby bear, mama bear, and papa bear.
SPEAKER_03It's lotzo hug and bear from Toy Story 3.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, but he is creepy.
SPEAKER_03He is.
SPEAKER_00Uh he's he's the pink one, right?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, and his villain arc is so dumb in that movie. Like the girl literally forgot about him, like, or forgot him and went back to go find him later on, and obviously couldn't find him. So then she replaced him with another lotso hugging bear, and then he goes, and I'll never go to another child again. Like he just like hated Woody and Buzz for no reason because of that. Yeah, that's that is that is and he he did have the Colonel Sanders kind of like talk to he'd be like, What are you doing out here, Woody? We're not here for the toddlers, we're here for this or whatever. Like the toddler room or kidney.
SPEAKER_00Dang Stefan, you got a good memory because I don't remember any of that. That's Toy Story 2. Three, three, yeah.
SPEAKER_03Toy Story Two is where it was the prospector, Jesse, and Bullseye, where we found out about Woody's Roundup and then Big Al's Toy Barn with that guy, Al, the fat guy. Yeah, and he's in the chicken suit in his car, and he goes, I can't believe I gotta drive all the way to work on a Saturday, and he's literally across the street from the Toy Store in chickens. He cuts traffic too, just like he makes the car stop.
SPEAKER_00Like, oh my gosh. Wait, is Toy Story 3 the one where they're like about to go into the fire?
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that's the one where they should have ended Toy Story.
SPEAKER_03They should, and then they made two more. Yep. And the fourth one actually, here's the thing: the fourth one actually was not that bad. The fourth one is not that bad. The fifth one I'm hearing, garbage.
SPEAKER_00Like it's just like they just need to let it go.
SPEAKER_03They do like well, it's that's the thing, is it's money. The more movies, how many finding Nemo's did we have? We had Finding Dory and Finding Nemo.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, we had two.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, and Finding Nemo came out like 25 years ago, I think. And then Finding Dory came out maybe maybe maybe 10 years ago.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it's a cash grab, and everybody assumes it's gonna be dumb, and yet they go still buy tickets. Right. Why don't you teach Disney a lesson for once and just don't go see it?
SPEAKER_03Because this the Toy Story 5 is on the premise of AI and electronics, like taking over like childhood, like instead of like playing with like a toy or something, like the Chewy doll or something, it's like I'm on my tablet, I'm on my iPhone, and then like the toys get upset that like you know, oh, we're playing with electronics and stuff, and then there's AI buzz light year dolls that like are trying to take over and they're the rogue AI, and it's like cool. I'm glad we're introducing AI as rogue and ready to kill people at this point in Toy Story film.
SPEAKER_00Maybe it's uh like a forthcoming message, like hey, this is gonna happen.
SPEAKER_03It's like The Simpsons, they predict everything, it's now Toy Story. Oh man. Yeah, maybe that's what's happening.
SPEAKER_00Maybe she says, My boyfriend, and then in parentheses, oh, please change the name because if he hears this, Mr. Snugglebottom will probably testify against me. Mr.
SPEAKER_03Snugglebottom?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I don't know what that's all about. So we'll we'll go with if I ever see the name again, I'll just go with Ken. Ken. Ken as the boyfriend. He's 28 years old. He has a full-time job, he pays taxes, he can change attire, he grills a respectable burger. He also sleeps with stuffies. Not one stuffy, not two stuffies.
SPEAKER_02What are with these nicknames?
SPEAKER_00A battalion. A battalion of stuffies. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03That's crazy. A battalion is insane work.
SPEAKER_00The first time I spent the night at his apartment, I climbed into bed and immediately felt something furry under my leg. I'm glad that we have a like a before story. Like it didn't start there. I thought maybe he'd forgotten a pillow. No, it was a stuffed penguin named Captain Waddles. Captain Waddles, huh? I would name my penguin that. As I continued investigating, I discovered an entire ecosystem. There was Captain Waddles, a dinosaur named Chompy, a cow named Sir Mooington, a shark named Bruce.
SPEAKER_03Why is a shark always named Bruce?
SPEAKER_00She even put original, I know. Dude, it really is.
SPEAKER_03Every movie since Jaws, the shark's been named Bruce.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, because isn't the shark in the uh the movie Jaws they nickname Bruce or something?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it's literally Bruce in the movie. They nickname him that. And then even in like Megalodon, I think they call him like Bruce or something like that.
SPEAKER_00And then Find and Nemo played off that.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, my name's Bruce.
SPEAKER_00And a suspiciously worn teddy bear named Mr. Snugglebottom, who apparently has been with him since childhood and holds a position of authority in the group.
SPEAKER_03Lotto.
SPEAKER_00Latzo Hawkins. For real. I asked Tyler if he wanted me to move them. He looked horrified. Move them where? Like I had suggested relocating his grandparents to a storage unit. Apparently, they all have designated sleeping position. Captain Waddle guards the left side of the bed. Chompy watches watches the door. Mr. Snugglebottom gets the prime spot next to Tyler because he's a veteran. A veteran of what exactly? The plush wars? The plush wars. That was actually written in there. It was not my joke, you guys.
SPEAKER_03Careful, guys. Disney might be listening into the podcast and come up with their next movie.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. That'd be so funny if all these names were in the next one.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, like Toy Story Six. They're the main protagonist of this one. Yeah, Chompy.
SPEAKER_00Bruce. Things got weirder. One night I accidentally sat on Bruce the Shark. Tyler gasped and rushed over to check on him. Not me, him. I've never seen this man react that quickly to anything. Last month I slipped on ice and he laughed for 20 straight minutes. I don't believe it was 20 minutes. Last week I woke up at 3 a.m. because Tyler was apologizing to a stuffy. Apparently, why are they calling him stuffies?
SPEAKER_03Stuffies is great now.
SPEAKER_00It's like every time. Apparently, he rolled over onto Sir Mooington in his sleep. Now I want to be clear. I don't actually mind the stuffies. They're kind of adorable. What concerns me is that I'm starting to feel like I'm in a relationship with Tyler and a very judgmental stuffed animal counsel. The other day I jokingly said, it's me or the penguin. Tyler didn't answer immediately. He actually thought about it. That's the part I can't get over.
SPEAKER_03That is pretty crazy.
SPEAKER_00So my question is this at what point should I be concerned that my boyfriend's emotional support system includes enough polyester stuffing to furnish a carnival prize booth? Is this a harmless quirk? Or should I accept that if we ever get married, Mr. Snugglebottom is going to be standing beside him as best man?
SPEAKER_03Imagine the wedding. It's just nothing but stuffed animals for his side of the family, and then herds like real people. They're like, what the heck?
SPEAKER_00That would be insane. That would be drawing the line right there. Or he made like all his groomsmen dress up like the stuffed animals. Oh my god. Like the best man has to wear the bear costume. One is the Chompy Captain Waddles and Mooington.
SPEAKER_03Sir Mooington is great. That's a that's actually a pretty like creative name for like a cow, Sir Mooington.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I'm not gonna lie. Some of those were pretty good names.
SPEAKER_03That's true. Other than Bruce, the most original shark name ever.
SPEAKER_00Right.
SPEAKER_03That I think the fact that he had to pause and like debate on an ultimatum between her or the stuffed animal is crazy, or the stuffed animal. Or the stuffies is crazy. The fact that he paused and then like he was like, let me think about that. You know, that's crazy. Like what oh, he's probably one of them like creeps that's like, I can hear the voices from the from the stuffies or whatever. He can like hear their opinions on everything. I mean, crazy. He goes, They say they want you to leave. Like, imagine one of those nights it would happen.
SPEAKER_00Like, it just all of a sudden turns into a horror movie. And yeah, I was gonna say they need to make a horror movie about that.
SPEAKER_03Like another Winnie the Pooh Blood Blood and Honey. Oh my goodness. It'd probably be one of those films, too.
SPEAKER_00Oh my gosh. Those movies were so I didn't even see them, but there's only three. Only three.
SPEAKER_03Not Winnie the Pooh one, but like there's Winnie the Pooh, Blood and Oh no, there's four. There's Winnie the Plue, uh, Winnie the Plue, Winnie the Pooh, Blood and Honey, the Mean One, which is a Grinch parody. There's the Steamboat Willy one, which is Mickey Mouse, and then there's Popeye the or it I think it's just called the Sailor Man, and it's Popeye.
SPEAKER_00Uh, what's the Mickey Mouse one called?
SPEAKER_03I don't know. I all I know is it's something like Steamboat Willie or something like that. Because that was the very first Mickey Mouse cartoon.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I think that one was they actually thought was good, the most people, because they it was trying to be dumb. Yeah. But like the Winnie the Pooh ones that were actually trying to be scary, because there's two Winnie the Pooh ones now. Oh, there's two? There might even be three. I'm gonna I have to look it up.
SPEAKER_03Probably. Yeah, the oh man, the mean one I heard here was really good. Because they they dressed them up just kind of like the Jim Carrey like Grinch, and he goes on like a killing spree or whatever, and I'm like, okay, that one looks better than any of those. The Sailor Man one I heard about a while back, and I'm like, I'm kind of interested in that one because all of them are in public domain now, so you can use Mickey Mouse for whatever, you can use Popeye for anything. I think Betty Boop is next, too, if she's not already, because I think she's from the 20s or 30s.
SPEAKER_00Apparently, Winnie the Pooh, Blood and Honey 3 is gonna be coming out.
SPEAKER_03Oh my gosh.
SPEAKER_00Oh that's insane. That is insane.
SPEAKER_03Winnie the Pooh, Blood and Honey 3. As if the first one wasn't successful.
SPEAKER_00Wow, yeah. The mean one looks they were all Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_03They were all like just like you recorded stuff in your backyard and got your costumes from Spirit of Halloween.
SPEAKER_00Pretty much. Yeah, the mean one looks like it, like they just copied the Jim Carrey one, basically.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, that's what I'm saying. Is it actually looks I think that one probably looks the most decent out of any of them so far.
SPEAKER_00And it's labeled as horror comedy, so I'm sure they know.
SPEAKER_03They probably know after Winnie the Pooh Blood and Honey that it was like, yeah, we have to label this as a comedy so we can get away with it being stupid. Exactly. Because that's how they did it with The Room. I don't know if you remember that movie. That one was an older movie, but um, that one was like the uh I did not hit her. This is you know, whatever. Oh, hi mock. That one, he labeled it as an actual drama, like and whatever, but then like people were like, This isn't a drama, this looks really bad. And oh no, it's a comedy, it's meant to be bad, but it's like a drama comedy, and so that's how he got away with it. And I'm like, that's so dumb. And then they made a movie about making the room.
SPEAKER_00I remember that one with James Franco.
SPEAKER_03Yep, yep.
SPEAKER_00Oh good times, I know, right? So what's this? Yeah, you are.
SPEAKER_03Whoa. I'm just kidding. You're like you're like what three years younger than me? No, you're Stefan.
SPEAKER_00I'm not I'm like a year younger.
SPEAKER_02Why am I saying three? Oh my gosh.
SPEAKER_03Oh, you know why? Because I just I because one of the guys at work I literally just got talking to like afterward, he's like 30. Oh. Yeah, so I'm like sitting there because his name is Ed. So his name is Ed, and he's younger than you. Yeah, he's taller than me, too, which is crazy.
SPEAKER_00Being named Ed and being younger than either of us is crazy.
SPEAKER_03I know, right?
SPEAKER_00Ed is like a 50-year-old name, it's like an 83 or 84-year-old name. Edward. Edward. Uh, anyway, what's this girl to do? Um about the stuffy situation.
SPEAKER_03To be honest, I would give up another ultimatum and be like, hey, dude, okay, look, I understand that these are like childhood momentums to you or mementos to you, but um, the fact that you even had to question like at one point if me or the bear had to go or had to like, you know, do you whatever? I'm like, and you paused. It wasn't a direct answer of like, oh, of course, babe, I want you. It was like, let me think about that. Let me let me consult with Mr. Stuffy Kins or something like that. Like, it's just like what? Or whatever the bear's name was.
SPEAKER_00Um, I would say, because she said he was like 28 or 25 or something.
SPEAKER_03That's still old to have like stuff.
SPEAKER_00I would say, like, at least to be like having them like sleep in your bed. Yeah. Like if you have like one or two on a shelf because it's just like something you got, like, okay, but yeah, 28 years old. If if you're still like treating them that way, or like, no, they say you can't do that.
SPEAKER_03You know what's funny? I'm gonna call myself out here for a second. On my couch in my living room, I have three not stuffed animals per se, but they're pretty much are, and they're all Sonic related. So I have a big, like, silver the hedgehog that's like in cat form that's like it's huge, and that just kind of sits at like one end of the couch, and then I have a Sonic like chibi, which is like an anime like cutesy kind of art style Sonic plush, and that one's pretty big too. It's about the same size as the silver one, and that one sits right there with him, and then I have uh uh squishmallow, Sonic the Hedgehog, and it's a small one, and that one goes right there, but it's funny because when I get home from work, I throw the two Sonic ones on the ground, and then I use the silver one, flip them on his back, and I just use them as like a pillow or whatever. So it's not like I'm sitting there sleeping with them, but I'm like, I'm like that's just they're on the couch, right? Right, and like people don't usually mind them when they've come over or whatever, because it's like whatever. Like you're not like sleeping with them and they're just kind of there because it's Sonic. We know you like Sonic the Hedgehog.
SPEAKER_00Well, I mean, like I have the Chewbacca's too.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, but you're not sleeping with them.
SPEAKER_00Right. So I mean it's like it's a little different if they're just like a like a decor. Decor. Yeah. It's and you're not like, and if I came over and moved the Sonic thing so I could sit down and not gonna be like that. Cause I had a uh roommate that would do that.
SPEAKER_03Was it uh Alfredo?
SPEAKER_00Yes, it was Alfredo. He would like come home and be like, What happened to Snake? Whatever the snake's name was, because I would have somebody over and I would like move his stuffed animals because he'd put like a grumpy dwarf on the on the couch, or like uh the the dwarf grumpy.
SPEAKER_03I remember that at your old place when we first did the podcast or whatever. Yeah, and it was like, yeah, I remember saying I was like, is that yours? Or something like that.
SPEAKER_00I was like, what the heck? Which I didn't mind that he put those there, but he would get weirded out if they moved, like if somebody moved him.
SPEAKER_03Oh yeah, like he'd be like very OCD or something like that, where he'd be like, Oh, you know, Grumpy's had a 32 degree angle and he was at a 33 earlier. Who moved him?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, basically.
SPEAKER_03That's crazy.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, so I've definitely dealt with the whole like that is where I think it becomes a problem.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, having them isn't, but if it's like if you're sleeping with them and they're conversating with you at breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and then like they're part of your intimate life or whatever is a couple, like whether you're like just going on a date or if you're sleeping or whatever, and you know, they're all five guarding the bed from the monsters, yeah. You know, it's just like that's kind of that's a little overdoing it.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, she might want to find someone new.
SPEAKER_03But for me, I'm like, yeah, at that point, yeah, if he's being that obsessive over it, then yeah, I'd probably dip. But like if he says, Yeah, let me actually like I know this sounds dumb, but can you just give me like five minutes or something to think about it and go sure? And then she like, and then he picks her, it's like cool, awesome.
SPEAKER_00But then he has to be done with them.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, then he has to be done with them. He can't sleep with them anymore. Yeah, he can't have them guard the bed. He can't have them uh just consult or the council of stuffings, you know. I just kind of think of like the setup being like the Jedi Council where like you got the mace window, the Yoda, and everybody else, and they're like, hmm. Like you just what if you heard Bruce do that? Like they're just sitting there and they're consulting, and then the guy's right there, and he goes, the girl must leave, she must. Like just like one of those, and she's like, what is going on in here?
SPEAKER_00She's like listening in the door and be like, oh my goodness. Do not train the boy, and then they're like, No, she really needs to go forever. Fear in him, I sense. Stefan, it's not Star Wars.
SPEAKER_03I just got listening to Weird L the saga begins.
SPEAKER_00Oh, heck yeah. Weird L.
SPEAKER_03That's such a good song, dude. I think that's probably my favorite song he's sung in a parody of.
SPEAKER_00Mine, I think, will always just be fat.
SPEAKER_03Fat's a good one.
SPEAKER_00Just because of the music video. Like, man, you fat. Oh, yeah. Yeah, I'm fat.
SPEAKER_03I got more chins than Chinatown. Ham on, ham on, amon old wheat, all right. And then he eats and then you just see the lettuce just fly, and the other fat guy's like, what?
SPEAKER_00Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_03Man, Weird Al is great. I don't think I think he came out with uh one song like recently, and then because they had a bunch of like animators like do the music video or whatever, and it was like polka versions of like every song. Like they had a polka version of like Billy Ellish, like a polka of one of her songs, and then they did uh Man, I don't remember the other songs that they parodied.
SPEAKER_00Um well, we can look it up after this.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, we're because we're definitely going to.
SPEAKER_00No, we're gonna forget. Absolutely. All right, so we're gonna move on to our last and final. Number three. Yes. This one's short. Thank goodness. Because we're at like 45 minutes. Really? Yeah. What did you think it was?
SPEAKER_03A half hour at least.
SPEAKER_00Oh, you thought it was less.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I thought it was less. I thought it was at least a half, like still long, like a half hour, but like not as long like we usually do, where it's like an hour recording kind of thing.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, well, time flies, I guess.
SPEAKER_03Time flies when you're having fun, ladies and gentlemen.
SPEAKER_00This one doesn't really need to be long, so I'll get to the bottom of it. My boyfriend doesn't like using the cheese grater, so instead he just puts a block of cheese in the microwave for like 10 minutes and then either pours it or slices it into smaller pieces and puts it in the dish. Obviously, I'm not going to leave him, but what is going on?
SPEAKER_03Wait, that's that's literally it?
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_00Well, not everyone, like what do you what details do we mean? I guess. Like, do we need the whole spiel of like, oh, I think he's great and everything except. I think he's great. Everybody's talking about it. Yeah, exactly. You need to perfect that.
SPEAKER_03I do. I just I feel like it needs to go like a little like I don't know if it's it was good.
SPEAKER_00I'm just saying, like, I I feel like you could get it down really good.
SPEAKER_03I could definitely, I mean, because I can still do John Madden and a couple other voice impressions, but like the Trump one I definitely love doing. It's so much fun.
SPEAKER_00Trump is a fun one to listen. People do.
SPEAKER_03He is, but I have to get like the arch in the back a little bit and like lean more forward and like because then he always sits there and he goes like we have to bomb Venezuela and whatever.
SPEAKER_02Like he goes, sleepy Joe Biden, like stuff like that with the hands and everything. Oh, yeah, you gotta get the mannerisms with the hands. Like, yeah, he goes, I don't want to, I'm the greatest president on earth. Everybody's talking about it.
SPEAKER_00Like, you have to finish it with that. Um the this one's right up your alley, though. Cheese, yeah, because he hasn't you it sounds like he's not even using a bag either.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it sounds like he's morphing it into a ball and then melting it in the microwave just to have cheese. Like have you ever tried it that way? What melting cheese in a microwave and then like pouring it on whatever? Yeah, no, but like I maybe this guy's a secret genius. Well, like I told you, like I so like I have a poor man's pizza that I usually do just when I want something cheap and quick, is I have like the bread and then the pepperoni slices, and then I have like the shredded cheese in a bag that I don't eat out of, but like I sit there and I'll like I'll pour a little bit on the bread so it acts like the cheese, and then I'll put the pepperoni slices and then another little bit of thing of cheese on there, sandwich it together, put it in the microwave, it melts into one gooey goodness, and then I eat it. That sounds good. It is really good. If you just want like a quick treat, uh treat, cheap meal, then it's like really good. Um, I don't know about a block of cheese, because I feel like that's like almost like putting a hard-boiled egg or like an actual raw egg in the microwave. Because I don't know if you've seen videos of that, but they explode. Um, somebody put like I don't know if it was again like a raw or a hard-boiled egg, but somebody like just put one in there to like warm it up a little bit, see if it could like soften the shell, and you just hear like that.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, of course that's gonna happen.
SPEAKER_03Right, because it's like all that pressure of the heat and everything from the microwave, like in that shell, and then it's just like you know.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Um I want to know how big the block of cheese is though. Because if it's like a s if it's like a I don't even know what to compare it to. If it's like um maybe the size of like I don't know, like that power adapter right there. Like that's it's a decent size, but it's not like overly like huge compared to like what I'm thinking. Yeah, because I'm thinking of the one that's like that, yeah, like a huge or like a wheel of cheese or something like that. Like he's just jamming it in there. If it's something like small, it's like cool, whatever. I don't care. But like if it's like something where, yeah, it's big, like I'd probably be like, why? Like, I question him, like, why do you do this?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I'm also starting. I also wonder if he even really does that. Like, I wonder if this person's just writing in to get us to laugh, or just go to Olive Garden and get one of them. There's no way that's real.
SPEAKER_03Cheese grater things or what like what are the sounds like he doesn't want a grade cheese. Well, I'm thinking when I think of cheese grater, I think of like the the pyramid-looking thing with like the handle where it's like like you have to actually shred it, yeah. Versus like, tell me when you just stir it and then the cheese stops. You know what I mean? Yeah, I want to get one of those. It was funny. I know two of my exes that actually got one from Olive Garden, and I was there for both meetings because Kylie, I took her to Olive Garden on one of our dates, and then um, obviously, she's an ex. So we went there and then she goes, I have a weird question. Can I have one of those? And the guy's like, Oh, yeah, we got like 50 more in the back just in case they break or something happens to them. So he just was like, Here you go. We just got one for free. And then uh Alicia, my ex fiance, we did the same thing. Like, we went to Olive Garden for like a date, and then I asked, but then I gave it to her, and I was like, Do you mind? I hate to ask this, and I'm like, I don't know if you're allowed to, but like, can we have like one of those cheese grater things? And he goes, Yeah, it's okay. We got like again, like same thing, like we got 50 in the back. But yeah, like I don't know if I don't know nowadays like how that all goes, like if you have to buy it separate or something like that. But dude, they come in handy so much, like they're actually really good at shredding cheese.
SPEAKER_00Really?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, so maybe we need to get one from Olive Garden and then like send it to these people.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, give us your address on air next time.
SPEAKER_03Yep, and it better be a P.O. box, I swear to God.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I swear to God, it better be a P.O. box. Everybody's talking about it.
SPEAKER_00All right, Stefan, you have to do that voice to exit the podcast.
SPEAKER_02Oh, I do, yeah. Thank you for listening to Digital Fire Podcast. It's been great. I love every second of it. Caleb is a great host. Everybody's talking about him. Stefan, he's okay. He's okay. He's just like sleepy Joe Biden, but it's okay.
SPEAKER_00All right, thanks everybody for listening. Shut up by live.
SPEAKER_02Bye bye.
