Study along with an open King James Bible to see if what I say is true. You know, like those noble Bereans did with our Apostle Paul's preaching.
Brother Scott's Look in the Book
Bible Key Words and Meanings A-Z: "Ignorant"
Follow along with an open King James Bible as brother Scott Evans teaches on the Biblical word, ignorant, and take notes!
I hope you enjoyed this episode of Brother Scott's Look in the Book, and most of all, I pray you learned from it and that it helped you dive deeper into God's word, which he places above his very name.
(Psalm 138:2 KJV) (2) I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.
God gives us instruction on how to study our Bibles:
(2 Timothy 2:15 KJV) (15) Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
Please do not only go by what I say, but do the work and study for yourself.
"Anything I can talk you into, someone else can talk you out of."

Hi! This is brother Scott with another Truth Time, Look in the Book!
Today is part 22 in my series, “Bible Key Words and Meanings A to Z.”
All references are from the King James Bible.
Perhaps take some notes as you listen.
We move on to the letter “I.”
The word today is: Ignorant
Our apostle Paul wrote a lot about and warned against being ignorant.
Jesus returned in the air and appeared to Saul of Tarsus, later called Paul, on his way to Damascus.
(Acts 9:1-6 KJV)
(1) And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest,
(2) And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem.
(3) And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven:
(4) And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?
(5) And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.
(6) And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.
Jesus Christ came and revealed a parenthetical dispensational time of mystery to the apostle Paul.
(Ephesians 3:2 KJV)
(2) If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward:
In the next two verses, Paul proclaims that he desires for the Gentiles to not be ignorant, but to understand the mystery of Christ:
(Ephesians 3:3-4 KJV)
(3) How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words,
(4) Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ)
The mystery Paul was attempting to get across to them so they would understand and not be ignorant was the fact that God concluded Israel in unbelief.
(Romans 11:32 KJV)
(32) For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all.
And that was due to their rejection of the holy ghost. Stephen speaking:
(Acts 7:51 KJV)
(51) Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye.
And Paul wanted them to understand that the Lord darkened Israel's eyes.
(Romans 11:10 KJV)
(10) Let their eyes be darkened, that they may not see, and bow down their back alway.
And Israel fell.
(Romans 11:22 KJV)
(22) Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.
And through Israel's fall, salvation came unto the Gentiles.
(Romans 11:11 KJV)
(11) I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy.
And Paul continues:
(Romans 11:25 KJV)
(25) For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.
Also, Paul mentions several more times that he would not have his brethren to be ignorant:
(Romans 1:13 KJV)
(13) Now I would not have you ignorant, brethren, that oftentimes I purposed to come unto you, (but was let hitherto,) that I might have some fruit among you also, even as among other Gentiles.
Paul's plan was to come to them often, but he was always hindered in some way.
So it was important to Paul that he get this information to them.
Moving on to 1 Corinthians 10:1 where Paul once again mentions he would not have them to be ignorant and explains what it is he does not want them to be ignorant about:
(1 Corinthians 10:1-6 KJV)
(1) Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;
(2) And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;
(3) And did all eat the same spiritual meat;
(4) And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.
(5) But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness.
(6) Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.
Next is 1 Corinthians 12:1.
(1 Corinthians 12:1 KJV)
(1) Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant.
And Paul expounds on those spiritual gifts throughout the rest of the chapter.
Which is a good study in and of itself.
Another mention of ignorant is in 2 Corinthians 2:11.
(2 Corinthians 2:11 KJV)
(11) Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.
Simply, do not be ignorant of Satan's M.O.
And then we read in 1 Thessalonians 4:13.
(1 Thessalonians 4:13 KJV)
(13) But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
And Paul expands on what he wants us to realize and be comforted by:
(1Th 4:14-18 KJV)
(14) For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
(15) For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
(16) For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: (17) Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
(18) Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
Paul warns against ignorance multiple times, but tragically, most will not heed the warning.
To the Ephesians, Paul mentions praying for their understanding, the opposite of ignorance.
(Ephesians 1:15-18 KJV)
(15) Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints,
(16) Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers;
(17) That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:
(18) The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
Speaking of ignorance, there are plenty of non-denominationalists among us, even though our apostle Paul clearly tells us in:
(Ephesians 3:1-2 KJV)
(1) For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles,
(2) If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward:
They are still in the covenant theology camp.
For whatever reason, the biblical divisions between how, in time past, God spoke to his people through the prophets, but now is speaking to the nations through the epistles of our apostle Paul, escapes the non-dispensationalist.
Whether it's due to wanting to hang on to their tradition, or not willing to admit they have been wrong, or ignorant, all this time, or just glossing over the words on the page instead of 2 Timothy 2:15 studying to show themselves approved unto God, or whatever else may be going on, to that Paul said in 1 Corinthians 14:38:
(1 Corinthians 14:38 KJV)
(38) But if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant.
The scriptures must be studied and understood in context.
Next, let's examine Romans 10:1-4 which is self-explanatory:
(Romans 10:1-4 KJV)
(1) Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.
(2) For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.
(3) For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.
(4) For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.
Paul admonishes some Corinthians for being ignorant about God, speaking of their lack of knowledge:
(1 Corinthians 15:34 KJV)
(34) Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.
Israel's lack of understanding, i.e, ignorance, prompted Paul to pen these words:
(Romans 1:28-32 KJV)
(28) And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
(29) Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
(30) Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
(31) Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
(32) Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
Paul is speaking of those who know God. We know this because they, "did not like to retain God in their knowledge."
Well, they would obviously have to know God in the first place in order to not retain him in their knowledge.
They chose to place God aside and pursue after other gods, which resulted in God giving them over to a reprobate mind.
What a reprobate mind is will be the subject of a future study.
Do to Israel's ignorance, i.e., lack of understanding, Paul says Israel has fallen, and prophecies have been postponed.
(Romans 3:11-19 KJV)
(11) There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.
(12) They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.
(13) Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips:
(14) Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness:
(15) Their feet are swift to shed blood:
(16) Destruction and misery are in their ways:
(17) And the way of peace have they not known:
(18) There is no fear of God before their eyes.
(19) Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.
So many today have taken to social media to proclaim their knowledge of our apostle Paul, but in their ignorance, they know just enough to be dangerous and can't wait to push their ignorance onto others. Instead of 2 Timothy 2:15, studying to show themselves approved unto God, they fail to rightly divide the word of truth, and for that, they should be ashamed.
As Paul writes to Timothy:
(1 Timothy 1:3-7 KJV)
(3) As I besought thee to abide still at Ephesus, when I went into Macedonia, that thou mightest charge some that they teach no other doctrine,
(4) Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do.
(5) Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned:
(6) From which some having swerved have turned aside unto vain jangling;
(7) Desiring to be teachers of the law; understanding neither what they say, nor whereof they affirm.
In conclusion, dear brothers and sisters, strive to not be ignorant.
I will leave you with the words of our apostle Paul in Acts 20 where he warns us:
(Acts 20:28-32 KJV)
(28) Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.
(29) For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.
(30) Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.
(31) Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears.
(32) And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.
There is a lot more that Paul has to say about ignorance and lack of understanding and knowledge for your further study.
So, friends, please do not be ignorant about your Bible.
You definitely do not have to be!
OK, that will do it for now.
Like the noble Bereans did with Paul’s messages, I urge you to search the scriptures to see if what I am teaching is true. (Acts 17:10-11)
Prove all things. (1 Thessalonians 5:21)
And finally, please do not place confidence in what I say. Psalm 118:8-9
