Many (Most?) Do Not Believe Their Bible!

How can I make such a claim? Tune in to find out.

I hope you enjoyed this episode of Brother Scott's Look in the Book, and most of all, I pray you learned from it and that it helped you dive deeper into God's word, which he places above his very name.
(Psalm 138:2 KJV) (2) I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.

God gives us instruction on how to study our Bibles:
(2 Timothy 2:15 KJV) (15) Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Please do not only go by what I say, but do the work and study for yourself.
"Anything I can talk you into, someone else can talk you out of."

Hey, this is Brother Scott with another Short Look in the Book, episode four.
So, since putting myself out there on social media with my Bible study videos and audios, I have heard from folks who submit comments, which I wholeheartedly welcome because I learn from some of them, and something I have come up with in all this is as so many of are guilty of what I used
to be guilty of, and that is, they don't believe their Bible.
That's right, they don't believe their Bible.
What they actually believe is what they've always believed about their Bible, right or wrong, and they will not be persuaded otherwise no matter what facts from the Bible are presented to them.
It makes no difference whatsoever.
They dig in their heels and hang onto their tradition.
And why didn't I end up being one of those people?
Well, the only thing I can think of is, is from praying to God and asking the Holy Spirit to guide me prior to reading and studying my Bible, every single morning, and I still do.
I always pray to the Holy Spirit to guide me as I read and study God's Word, to give me wisdom, clarity, understanding, and retention of his Word, and also the ability and the boldness to expound it unto others with accuracy and charity.
I always want to be charitable in my answers to comments.
So, here are some Bible verses that come to mind on this subject.
Acts 17:10-11, And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea, who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews.
These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the Word with all readiness of mind and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.
And I started to do the same, that is, receive the Word with all readiness of mind and search the scriptures daily, whether those things I hear from comments and other preachers is true.
And I urge everyone listening to do the same with me and my messages.
Do not simply take me at my word.
Search the scriptures to see if what I am saying is true.
Psalm 118:8, It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man.
Also, 1 Thessalonians 5:21, Prove all things, hold fast that which is good.
Acts 17:19-20, And they took him, (that is the Apostle Paul), and brought him unto Areopagus, saying, May we know what this new doctrine whereof thou speakest is? For thou bringest certain strange things to our ears, we would know therefore, what these things mean.
They wanted to know what Paul meant about this new doctrine he was preaching.
And just because I bring certain strange things to your ears, please do not disregard them without searching the scriptures first.
Grace and peace.
