Speaker 1:

Hi there, my name is Hannah Cheromey. This is the What is Fromcast podcast on the Podcastica network.

Speaker 3:

And welcome to the show. My name is Alex And I'm Lizzie, and today we are talking from season two, episode eight, forest for the Trees, and it looks like nothing really happened here in Fromville this week. I'm just kidding.

Speaker 4:

You sounded like one of the people on the Facebook page is like well, that was boring.

Speaker 3:

I'm not watching anymore. It's not moving fast enough. It's not this, it's not that?

Speaker 4:

What do you want?

Speaker 3:

Well, i don't know what they want, but, folks, if you guys are, if you guys are loving the podcast as much as we like making it, you know, hit the hit the subscribe button, so and hit the bell. So when we, when we have new episodes, you're the first to see it. We love to interact with you. We get tons of feedback on on YouTube as well as all the other platforms and Instagram, and we'd love to have you. I see some some of the people are in here. Hey, kara, we'll just say hi And you know.

Speaker 4:

Oh, i thought Kara was saying that. Oh, hi, friends, would love to hear you. Oh, she is saying that.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, she is. Lizzie is new to the whole life thing, So last week I get it, I get a text from her and she's like Alex, there's too many things going on. We'll figure it out. This is a work in progress And thank you so much for trying, But let's get into the forest from the trees. And what was your first thoughts, young lady?

Speaker 4:

You know what? There's just so much in this episode, but I would be remiss, i think, and not mentioning just my favorite part was Victor confronting the loss of his sister with Tabitha, and I just I think Scott McCord has just done such an amazing job this entire season playing this man child. You know that.

Speaker 3:

I can only say one word. I can only say one word Emmy, yeah, and I know I don't say that lightly Yeah, he has done this season for a guy that shouldn't even be on the show anymore. He wasn't even written in the second season He is. He is basically made lemonade out of pumpkins. Oh my God, and I'm saying it's great.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, you know, catalina is a great scene partner for him. He's needed a mother And that's why he's there at the trunk confronting this with a mother, because who else could console him better? It's that The show is just phenomenal. I mean, everyone does such an amazing job And I just love the show. I just love it.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, I love everything And I'm going to go back to something that you know. There's a lot, There's some, there is some criticism of the show from people on Facebook And I'm happy with everything that's happened. Do you know?

Speaker 4:

what it is. It's I'm sorry to interrupt. It's because we understand that this is a puzzle show.

Speaker 3:

Right.

Speaker 4:

You are going, you are going to get a piece and you're going to try it in all the different, you know, sections. We are still working on the border, you know, and that's the thing I'm so sorry to interrupt.

Speaker 3:

But you know what we talk about this all the time and and our mouths drop every single time we hear something stupid And and I think it's short sighted. Well, I think also I'm sorry. I like to Gatorade. It tastes great to me because I'm drinking it. I'm drinking it, i'm drinking it. I'm drinking on my front cup with my my Sunday from day shirt, with my bracelet that I'm going to get from you. All this type of stuff, we are all in on it.

Speaker 4:

And I just made a foam finger and you made a foam finger.

Speaker 3:

Hopefully it's the right finger, just kidding, but but I, you know, in terms of those first thoughts, i thought that this was a very emotional thing. And it wasn't just him, it was a bunch of the characters. Yeah, i think you know, next week is the penultimate, as we like to say, episode. It's episode nine out of 10. And we're going to see what really happens, dude.

Speaker 4:

I don't want to be here right now.

Speaker 3:

And I want to watch the other part.

Speaker 4:

You know, my first thought was like crap, it's. it's episode eight. You know, like all the looking forward that we did in anticipation, And now Christmas morning is two episodes away.

Speaker 3:

Well, i just want to throw this up here, lizzie, and then we're going to get to our actual thoughts. So Kara, kara is like she expects a death. Do you expect a big death or just a little small death?

Speaker 4:

A thousand tiny deaths. Well. I'm going to tell you one thing, And wait, wait wait, does she expect a death in it Like there had better be one, or just that someone's got to go?

Speaker 3:

Someone's going to die.

Speaker 4:

It better not be Donna.

Speaker 3:

Well, i'm going to tell you right now. I still remember the interview that we had with her and Scott, or Scotty as he likes to let us call him, and when she described from and folks go back to it, she couldn't answer it right away And she's like well, there's hope, but there's not. But there's this, and I'm going to tell you right now. She hit the nail on the head. This is so effing confusing. In a fun way, i am over the topic cited to get into this And I think we've done enough first thoughts, so let's get into it. And the first part that we were talking about is I like to call a dream a little dream. Yeah, i got to tell you, the walking dead does a good cold open. Yeah, you know what? It is? nothing like this thing.

Speaker 4:

No, Yeah, this is next level. I don't know Anytime. We're starting with Kenny and Mrs Lou. Like I want to go live in that house.

Speaker 3:

I want to be a person that lives with Mrs Lou.

Speaker 4:

I do too. I want to live with Mrs Lou. I don't think I'd make it in colony house all the time. I think I'd go hang out at colony house.

Speaker 3:

Yeah exactly.

Speaker 4:

So we open and you know Kenny's coming into the kitchen and they're talking back and forth And I was trying to figure out if it was present time or back in the old days. But when they said the family, i figured they were talking about the Matthews.

Speaker 3:

But did you think for when you first saw it and I want love to hear people in the chat did you think for one second that was a dream When the phone rang? yeah, obviously when the phone rang. No, not even like.

Speaker 4:

Just when the phone rang, i was like because I love the way they both looked at it, because who's calling us right, you know. But when the phone rang I was like something's not right.

Speaker 3:

Right.

Speaker 4:

And then the voice, and it reminded me of this Johnny Cash song that I really love, and I think it's like when the man I gotta pump this up.

Speaker 3:

Nope, totally thought it was all real. Yeah, I love it.

Speaker 4:

So he answers and then you know it's crackly and there's a guy And you think it's the same guy.

Speaker 3:

Do you think it's the same guy from Jim's phone call, because it sounded very similar.

Speaker 4:

I'm not sure, because you know I can't answer that question because I was thinking of Johnny Cash. Okay, you mean yeah, but it's you know, the man, it's the song. He does that when the man comes around, right, you know, because he's just talking through the song and he's not really singing. Well, he does sing the chorus, but you know, the stanzas are spoken, But the guy. I hate poetry.

Speaker 3:

I'm gonna pump it up here. I'm gonna pump it up here. So he says they touch, they break, they steal. No one is free, no one here is free. Oh, here, no one here is free. Here they come. They come for three, unless you stop the melody. Okay, we can have a broadcast on just this.

Speaker 4:

It brought me back to when Martin says they come when the music stops.

Speaker 3:

Exactly.

Speaker 4:

So it goes back to that And you know we have people seeing the music box beyond Boyd. You know, because I'm convinced now that what Boyd experienced in that place was real, with Martin And that was, you know, when he was able to transfer the worms. That's when I knew it was real. But now we have Marielle and Elgin seeing the music box. It's not just Boyd. The weird thing was that Kenny didn't see the music box but it's alluded to Wait a second.

Speaker 3:

I think I messed it up. I'm sorry. I don't mean to cut you off. I'm sorry because I think I might have messed it up. I think, and I'm sorry, i'm gonna butcher your name. I'm just gonna call you Del. Del. Sinha. Okay, thank you, i'm awful with names. They touch, they break, they steal. No one here is free. Here they come. They come for three, unless you stop the melody. They touch, they break, they steal.

Speaker 4:

He just was repeating it.

Speaker 3:

Right, yeah, yeah, exactly what you read before. Okay, i just saw the extra. Sorry, i kept cutting you off.

Speaker 4:

Yeah. So I'm looking like they touch, they break, they steal. No one here is free. I don't know about they touch, they break, they steal, but no one here is free is definitely talking about you know where everybody is because they're not free. Here they come. They come for three. So we have three dreams here Elgin, kenny and Marielle. Unless you stop the melody, so is it something that involves the three of them? You know Elgin, who had some precognizance of this place because he had a dream before you know, as he's driving into town. Marielle, who has this fever dream during the middle of her or the beginning of her withdrawals. And then Kenny, who's just mining his own business, taking a nap on the couch.

Speaker 3:

All right, i have to also post this, and I'm sorry I'm killing you with this stuff, but I did the same exact thing because they were arguing. If it said three or me, i froze the closed caption as well. So I am so with you on that Well that's how I know.

Speaker 4:

This is what it says.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, no, no, i'm just saying, other people are asking.

Speaker 4:

This was why I didn't finish my notes until this morning, because I wanted to go back and look at the closed captioning so that I could get it right. I also wanted to know if we knew what Mrs Liu or what Tian Shen and Kenny were saying. So, plus, i didn't want to have to finish it at midnight because I was really getting sleepy. So then he hears the buzz of cicadas and they're in the pot. They're cooking in the pot, but they're alive. They're not doing the frog thing or the we used to call it crab in the bucket that they just pull each other.

Speaker 1:

you know, as soon as someone starts to escape.

Speaker 4:

They pull them back. So, but then his mom, tia and Chen, wakes him up and he sees a big burn mark on his arm because one of them jumps out of the pot, which it could have been hot, lands on his arm and burns him. But he doesn't see a music box. But perhaps it has to do with unless you stop the melody, maybe that is his part of it. So then it just you know later on.

Speaker 3:

Wait, didn't he? didn't he hear a music box at one point? No, not this, not this episode, but last episode.

Speaker 4:

I don't know.

Speaker 3:

Okay, i'm sorry guys, i thought he, i thought he might have, because the thing is, I thought he saw one too. Hold on. He did see the music box in the dream.

Speaker 4:

So, delcina, he did see the music box. I didn't see the music box in the dream. I went back and looked for it, i don't know, at any rate I might have just missed it. So we go to Elgin and you know Donna has said something to Boyd about Elgin nearly drowning not nearly drowning, waking up, and you know. And then when he was woken up he spit out water and he said he had a dream about being, you know, someone trying to drown him in the bathtub.

Speaker 4:

So Elgin we discussed this last week he took Julie's advice and he filled the tub with water and he sunk down into the tub so that his ears were covered, so that it would sound like the beach, right. But the thing that I noticed and I didn't, i noticed this last week and I didn't mention it. But when they show him filling, or when the water is filling the tub by the faucet, the water is at a lower level. But when we look at Elgin in the tub, the water is almost ready to come over the top of the tub, which is not the same at the faucet. And they show that a couple of times. And, thinking back that we didn't find out until this episode that that was a dream. Like we didn't find out for sure. So then I was like maybe that was the giveaway, that it was a dream.

Speaker 3:

Now just throw something else on the puzzle board. They both have to do with water. Yeah, and I don't know what exactly that all means. It's just another thing to put on the from board.

Speaker 4:

And this is the thing. Like he said, when he gets there, when he gets to from, he's asked if there's a body of water. That's what he asked. So maybe I don't know, maybe he didn't see himself in a tub, I don't know, Or he?

Speaker 3:

just saw himself.

Speaker 4:

Maybe he just saw himself drowning.

Speaker 3:

I'm just saying. Kenny had water with the cicadas.

Speaker 4:

Yeah.

Speaker 3:

Um, elgin, elgin had two. He wanted to go to the pool, i mean go to the lake, and he got drowned in water.

Speaker 4:

Yeah.

Speaker 3:

Um but.

Speaker 4:

Marielle does not have a water issue.

Speaker 3:

The only, the only. And I'm stretching here, i'm totally. This is total stretch. And yes, sydney, i did realize that you were wild child, because you are, um, i think, and this is a total stretch because she's like going through the withdrawals, she's like sweating a lot. I'm just, i'm just again. it's a total reach. Well, it could be it. I'm a God, and if it sucks, i suck.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, And she wakes up. she comes out of the room she's calling for Christie. She walks down the hall, she looks out the window, opens the boiler room door, smiley body smiley's body is gone. She runs and she sees Boyd and tells him. And then she turns to see smiley and he advances toward her and he keeps coming, despite Boyd shooting And Boyd looked funny shooting anyway for some reason And she sees and hears the music box and it ends with his face and hers. So, and that's after, we know he's dead. She, yeah, and she knows he's dead. So that is just the dreams that we wanted to talk about.

Speaker 3:

On a side note, the lighthouse has water. It's a lighthouse, yeah, and water. Well it's. it's there for a reason. It's associated with water, And I've heard this too. you know there's supposed to be possibly a flood of some kind coming, but we're we're not going to really talk about that just yet. We want to just keep going here. Right? I'll tell you that cicada thing was pretty frigging nasty.

Speaker 4:

Oh my God, i hate cicadas. Like over the summer I was over at the neighbor's house and I was looking at his tree and one of them had molted And it was just giant hanging on the tree And I'm like, ah, i just they're so big, They freak me out Like I don't. Like I'm not a big bug fan, but big bugs.

Speaker 3:

So if you're of a certain age and you lived in the Northeast, i remember when I was a kid, we had the biggest cicada in in Vestation. When I was like a kid, it was like the cicadas were like as big as your lunchbox and there was like 50,000 of them everywhere. I mean it was like you were crunch, crunch, crunch, and when I saw that pot, that's what brought me back there. Yeah, so you know, lizzie, i am loving the chat. They are like they're talking about so many good things. They're talking about the trees, they're talking about the water, they're talking about all sorts of good stuff, and I just want to say thank you so much for keeping that going, because it makes us feel great that you guys love it as much as we do. And I know a wild child who's Sydney, who we did the yellow jackets. I did the yellow jackets after show with. She has all caught up now. So she's going to start texting me at three o'clock in the morning with her, right before work, right after work, with all these good stuff, and I can't wait. I can't wait for all that good stuff.

Speaker 3:

But that being said, let's move on, because a lot happened in this episode, right? The first thing that really happened is we want to go back to Jim and Randall. Yeah, and before we do that, i just want to mention folks, if you haven't heard it, we actually had AJ on the podcast this week. We did an interview with them and it was pretty cool because we asked him a question that I thought was a BS question and it actually kind of flustered him. That's the only tease I'm going to say, And I think he might have slipped, but we're not sure. So if you go back and listen to it, folks, i think you might get a cool tease.

Speaker 4:

Wait a minute, i thought you cut that out.

Speaker 3:

Oh, I did not.

Speaker 4:

Thanks Okay.

Speaker 3:

They didn't say to cut it out. You didn't tell me to cut it out.

Speaker 4:

Yes, I did. I told you to cut that piece out.

Speaker 3:

You know what it is. It's all. It's just a teaser, folks. It's not, there's really nothing to it, but anyway. So that said, he actually gives his recipe for how to fly a drone. I didn't want to like really give it away. But that being said, they start talking. So why don't you go from there? What are they talking about?

Speaker 4:

All right. So they're out there, They've got the drone and they are attaching the antenna to the drone to bring it up higher in the sky. but you know, Randall can't get it up high enough in the sky And I'm like, isn't it just like you? just press it forward.

Speaker 3:

It's a wee wee.

Speaker 4:

But he's like this I know there's a weight on it, but he's like this with it And I'm like is he really trying or is he not trying? You know, is the drone actually straining? Jim doesn't know, because Jim has his back to him. He's not watching what he's doing behind him. Right.

Speaker 4:

So they're out by the RV doing this and he I feel like he's leading Jim, he's kind of baiting Jim a little bit And he's like so what's the point of this experiment? And so they're talking about that And how did I lose my place? Randall thinks like he goes back to you know what about these People that have to be here making sure that the experiment is running on schedule and stuff like that? And he says to Jim he's like so who, when you guys first got here, who laid out the rules? And he's like well, donna Boyd and Father Cotry. And he's like Cotry, i don't know who that is.

Speaker 3:

Yeah.

Speaker 4:

And he's like well, he died one night. He was, you know, killed by the monsters type thing, and Jim's like, not Jim Randall's like but did you see it? And he's like no, and I'm like there were people that saw it.

Speaker 3:

No, I know, i mean he was just stirring shit up And I'm going to tell you if he ends up being the mole, because he's trying to, you know, do all this. Well, i think he's just screwing with Jim. I know, but that was my next statement. I think he's. He's like screwing with them because he's having a as he likes to say in his normal tongue, having a bit of fun with them, but he's like he's screwing with them And I feel like he's assessing things.

Speaker 4:

For one, i feel like he's assessing things, but the other part is that I feel like he's taking advantage of Jim's good nature. He has Jim pegged, absolutely, whether or not he's the mole, he's got Jim pegged and he can just fuck with this guy And that's the only reason he's hanging out with Jim and doing the antenna thing. He has no intention of really helping him. You know, and you know he gets him talking let's see, and he's saying like he's never seen it happen. And he they were talking about Sarah and how Sarah was pushed to such an extreme by this place that she killed her brother. Because he's saying ah, you didn't see, katri died, he's like, but there was Nathan And she killed. She definitely killed his brother. I mean, she definitely killed her brother. And then he was like then he's like well, maybe Nathan dying was just a show. And he insinuates that Sarah is in on it. And if Sarah is in on it, i don't know, do you buy that at all?

Speaker 3:

I think that if Sarah is in on it, she killed her brother by accident. If she's in on it. But I don't think she's in on it because you know what, Not that smart And she's too scared And she I don't think that it's not that she's not that smart.

Speaker 4:

She could be a fabulous actress.

Speaker 3:

She could very well be, but I just don't think it's she wants to get out of that place so bad that I could see a case for her wanting being part of the bigger picture because she's she doesn't want to give it away. But at the same time I I don't know, i just can't see it. Maybe I'm, maybe I'm just not seeing it, but I will say this Kara. Kara said something kind of interesting. going back to our topic about cicadas, cicadas are thought of resurrection and rebirth.

Speaker 4:

You didn't look that up.

Speaker 3:

What.

Speaker 4:

You didn't look that up.

Speaker 3:

No, i didn't, She just did that.

Speaker 4:

No, no, no, I thought you might have looked it up before we started the show.

Speaker 3:

I know I did. I did not, because I don't like cicadas and I like them flies, that we have to kill the red spotted whatever's. I don't. We have them everywhere in festive, the whole status.

Speaker 4:

Oh, okay, all right. So then Jim brings up no, not Jim. Then Randall asks him what about you know Tom and brick? And Jim doesn't say that he didn't see anything. Like how could he not have known? because he was looking up at Tom when that monster came into the house. And I saw Jim look away. Because I'm like I've been wondering the whole time did Jim watch? did Jim like, lose himself, like, did he black it out? What's the story? And I was waiting for him to tell Tabitha about what he saw. You know, because he's like I have so much to tell you But they watched brick die They both did, you know he was like and then just died. So he felt that the other stroke her to killing her brother. Okay. So then they decide to go see Sarah.

Speaker 3:

I know, because that was a smart idea. Yeah.

Speaker 4:

Oh, wait a minute. No, we were going to switch to Boyd and Sarah. Yeah, yeah, yeah we're going to switch over to Boyd and Sarah.

Speaker 3:

That's fine, that's fine.

Speaker 4:

So we're in the sheriff's office and Sarah comes in and she's like I need to go back out there on board as hell, like I need to find some answers. I need to be useful. I can't just sit here And she's like no one else wants me here. I need to do something. So that conversation sets some things in motion. So Boyd leaves the sheriff's office and he goes up to colony house. Right.

Speaker 4:

And he gets to colony house and he runs into Ellis And he's amazed at how well Ellis is doing. And basically one day, you know, spent a night in bed and then he's totally fine And Ellis is in the best mood. Well, why? Yeah, but the thing is like, you know, ellis on the topic of Ellis feeling better, remember, ethan's leg has basically healed. He's just walking around the stick because he's still the wizard. Then we have Jim who's still hobbling, which is really strange. But Ellis heals really fast And he's like, yes, and he, you know, he's like I've got some really good news. And Boyd lets himself be interrupted by Donna Because Donna is like I need to talk to you, Right? So he goes and talks to Donna and he's like I need some help with.

Speaker 3:

Sarah, can I just interrupt you for one second?

Speaker 4:

Yeah.

Speaker 3:

This, this slide that I'm going to show. She has done such a great job of showing up at the worst and best time. This episode, it seems like he's always showing up. I'm just keeping back your mind, that's all.

Speaker 4:

Well, i know that that's part of this whole story. So she's like you know you want me to keep her busy. And then she mentions to him I've got a full blown adult size Bangaroo headache. I know, i think of that guy every once in a while. I can't think of his name, but anyway, he used to play Dantana. Like Dantana, he was like a detective in Vegas or something. Oh yeah, like Robert Ulrich.

Speaker 3:

Okay.

Speaker 4:

Bob Ulrich. yeah, so he was also in Lonesome Dove. But anyway, because Donna interrupts Ellis and Boyd Boyd never gets, we never see Ellis tell him, which makes me wonder if that means Ellis is going to die.

Speaker 3:

Or somebody else.

Speaker 4:

No, ellis in particular, because Ellis is so happy, true, all right, so that's what I was thinking. So, anyways, there's a conversation with Donna. Donna's, like. She agrees to help with Sarah, and then she tells him about Elgin. So then Boyd goes to see Elgin And Elgin is crocheting.

Speaker 3:

Oh wait. And by the way, i want to point that out, and the only reason I want to point that out, i would say he was knitting. I wouldn't say he was crocheting. It's crocheting.

Speaker 4:

He had one hook Okay.

Speaker 3:

He wasn't knitting.

Speaker 4:

That's the difference.

Speaker 3:

But the only reason I say that and this is just a total self-plug for my sister. She has her own business. So when I saw that she makes hats and gloves and all this other stuff, i was like I wanted to call up my sister, but she doesn't watch the show. I'm like somebody's knitting. Somebody's knitting on the show. Sorry, it's a total. I had nothing to do with this at all.

Speaker 4:

I understand Yeah.

Speaker 3:

But anyway I'll have to change that. He's crocheting, But okay.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, he's crocheting because he found some supplies, like in a little basket and you know some yarn and a hook and the whole thing. And I'm like he must have done that with his grandmother. I know, like, in a school that I worked in, like my favorite school that I taught in, we taught the kids to not to crochet, to knit, and the kids were just constantly walking around knitting stuff. They loved it. So anyway, he, he talks to him about the dream and he said something tried to drown me And then when he was woken up, he was spitting up water, right, which is really strange, right, like how can you wake up out of your sleep and then just spit up water, like you're drowning? So I just fun while I'm working. It reminded him, you know like, then you know, that's when I was like you know, remember, when he was dreaming on the bus there was something about the water.

Speaker 4:

Then Boy tells he shows him the bio And he asked him like you didn't say anything about what you saw of the colony house, and he's like no, and he's like we've got to figure out a way to get the bio into the monsters without getting killed ourselves. And then Elgin has the brilliant idea of a silver bullet. Hello, the bullet can be the delivery mechanism, which is exactly it. They can fire that at a distance And we know that regular bullets do nothing to them. So if they fire the bullet with the bio on it and something happens to them, then we know it's the bio, that the worms that were actually in the bio We're going to call them the bio bullets.

Speaker 4:

The bio bullets, the bullet Yeah.

Speaker 3:

Thank you, Maggie.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, so then let's let's hop on over to the Chen house. Yeah, and Victor shows up and he, you know, knocks on the door. Julie answers and he's like is Ethan home?

Speaker 3:

I know It was so great.

Speaker 4:

I was waiting for him to say can Ethan come out and play?

Speaker 3:

I know right.

Speaker 4:

Remember, like we never do that anymore, like you get to be adults, like not even adults, but like teenagers, and you stop saying that, but that's all we're doing.

Speaker 3:

No.

Speaker 4:

Can you?

Speaker 3:

come out and play. We're playing right now. I get that all the time on my door with Lucy.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 3:

It's always at the most inconvenient convenient times, but it's great.

Speaker 4:

No, but it was great Look at what the end of kid is.

Speaker 3:

I do want to talk about this because there's a couple of things that happen here that I think are kind of important, and again they're more puzzle pieces for the wall. You know, she, she asked him to come in, he won't come in, right, ethan asked him to come in, he won't come in, and it's a weird thing, like he was going to take a step and then he was like now that could be a house, maybe, where they did stuff.

Speaker 4:

When he was like where they might have been living.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, I don't want to say living. I don't know if they were necessarily living there.

Speaker 4:

But he did come in that house to get the violin back from Jade.

Speaker 3:

True, so maybe my theory sucks, but we don't know yet. No, no, but there is a question of why he wouldn't go into the house.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, So she? she thanks him for saving her little brother, right? He's dismissive because he doesn't really know what to say. He feels uncomfortable. The thing is like Victor has been living in this place for so long, mostly by himself, that he hasn't really developed social graces, whereas Jade has been living amongst people and also has not developed social graces. Well, so he does this really cool thing. He's got this bag that seems to match this, but I've got to go this way. It's got this kind of stuff on it. I don't know if you noticed, but it's like that And I was like, wow, that matches the lunchbox a little bit.

Speaker 3:

Well, I think it is lunchbox with the string.

Speaker 4:

No, no, no, No, he has a bag. Oh yeah, it's got a bag and it looks almost like I don't know like a, like a travel tote bag from like the late 60s or something. It just made me think of TWA, you know. So he pulls this code out and he gives it to Ethan. He's like this was my coat when I was a kid, and so it was. It was kind of cool, like he was thinking about some, you know, because Ethan brought him the markers even though the orange had was already dried out, you know. And so then he brings back a coat and it's interesting like Julie. Julie has a couple of little things with with Victor, you know, like she thanks him for saving her brother's life, but remember, when she first met Victor, she's sitting in the kitchen at colony house and she's like oh my God, this guy is weird, you know.

Speaker 4:

And even Fatima comes in and she's like Victor, you know, get your peaches and go.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, get your peaches and go. So Ethan has drawn Victor a picture And it's a picture of himself and Victor doesn't want to keep it. He doesn't want to take it because pictures are things are for things that are gone. So he doesn't want anything to do with that picture. And it's a cute little picture, you know, like Ethan wrote his name and black crayon and then he outlined it or wrote over it or outlined it whatever with yellow And you know he's wearing, he's drawn in black and he's like outlined in yellow was really cute.

Speaker 3:

Right.

Speaker 4:

And so Ethan is kind of like Hey, what if something happens to me? Here's another foreshadowing, not just that Ellis is happy, but Ethan. Remember Sarah's thing was she was told to kill Ethan. Right, and Ethan, here he is saying what if something happens to me? At least you'll have that picture.

Speaker 3:

Right.

Speaker 4:

No.

Speaker 3:

And well, no, he was also responding to him as well. So I mean, he was just like here's my picture, You know there's my school picture.

Speaker 4:

I signed it on the back.

Speaker 3:

Well, I mean, that's what my daughter does.

Speaker 4:

She's like all about the pictures, So yeah yeah, And you know, I think a lot of times kids are these days like I didn't have pictures of my friends growing up, not until we got a Polaroid And then we were taking pictures on the fly And it was kind of like, you know, my mom would buy us the film versus buying film and dropping it off at the photo mat, But she'd buy us the Polaroid film, you know, we'd go take pictures of just stupid stuff with our friends, you know, and wait for it to develop. So the thing is that we've, you know, Victor is drawing things that have already happened. And there was this little like. There's a guy on one of the platforms, CEO or something like that, And he's he's like, you know, Victor's predicting stuff, and I'm like he's not predicting stuff. He clearly says he sees something, he draws it. Then when he sees the picture later, he knows it happened, You know, and because I've been working on a little project, I heard him say that All right, So, so Victor gives him the coat.

Speaker 4:

Now let's hop on over to Tabitha and Jade. Tabitha, oh no, I'm going to start coughing. That's the whole reason of the cough drop. So Tabitha takes Jade over to the cave opening And inside is where she saw the symbol. You know, she's pretty pissed, you know because Victor knew and didn't tell him. And the thing was, Jade brings up the chaos theory.

Speaker 3:

Absolutely.

Speaker 4:

What do you know about the chaos?

Speaker 3:

Well, i know enough to get myself in trouble. I just know that one thing builds off of another, builds off of another, like he was saying that butterfly flickering and there was this. Mummy, you know, there's a, there's a lot of dots that you can connect to make one butterfly. You're one cough. You're one cough because whatever.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, yeah, you know, just like a virus spreading, you know, and and so it's, you know, i think, more popularly known and understood as the butterfly effect. Right, but it's basically an intricate set of connections And there's some people that just trace and trace and trace, like history. If you, if you dive deep into history, it's like a butterfly effect, you know, because this caused this and this caused that. You know all the things that were caused because people came to the new world you know.

Speaker 4:

so he realizes at this point that Victor saw the symbol. because he saw the symbol, because he knew that Victor was in that cave with Tabitha. And then he just gets incensed because all these things happen. And he realizes that all of these things connect at Victor. Victor is the center of the Venn diagram, so there's Jade thinking all scientifically, you know, like the chaos theory, and then Venn diagrams Oh, i hate Venn diagrams, but anyway they. you know he storms off and that's them for a minute. Then we hop over to the diner where you know, like I love, when Ethan's like you want to go with us. You know he says to Victor and he's like I guess. so It's like he's just, he's just not even laid back kid, he's just like no enthusiasm about anything.

Speaker 3:

Oh, i know, And a lot actually happens there. Not a lot, but a couple of things happen there.

Speaker 4:

There's a lot of like hustle and bustle. Well, like some way stops all over this episode. People are just going from one place to the next. So even telling him about the internet, Oh I know, I love that.

Speaker 4:

And Victor is like what are you talking about, you know? and then Julie's like, yeah, it's a thing you know. So then Julie is like you're going to wear that jacket all over the place all the time. And he's like, well, yeah. And she's like, well, it smells musty, which makes sense. Who knows where Victor was keeping the thing right. So Ethan smells it. While he smells it, he feels something in the jacket, like in a pocket, and he pulls out this little crayon. I want to call it a Crayola buddy or something like that. I couldn't find one just like that, but I know, when I was a kid I saw that, i remember. I remember that Like, and you pull it off, which Tabitha does later, and there's a little sharpener right there, and maybe it's just a sharpener.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, i don't know. You know what?

Speaker 4:

it might just be a sharpener, because then you sharpen your crayon and then the body of the thing catches the shavings from the crayons And I gosh, i mean this goes back. I remember being in second grade or first grade with Miss Silbert and I was sharpening crayons And it was in a like the shavings went into like this transparent, this trend, not transparent, but a see-through bowl And you could see all the shavings in there. And my friend, mary Meadon's brother, said, oh my God, that's like the coolest thing. He was in fifth grade And I don't know what he was doing in our class And he was like that's the coolest thing. And then, sadly, soon after he died, Well, that's great.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, Sorry not enough.

Speaker 3:

You're really helping us here.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, And Mary Mary is now dead. She's same old age as me, But anyway. so he finds this thing and he's like, he shows Victor and he's like, oh my God, you know, and that's what triggers all of these flashbacks for Victor. And then, just as Victor was like traumatized enough, Jade busts in and he's like, what the fuck? you, fucking idiot. You know What did he say? He said I've been looking all over town for you.

Speaker 3:

Okay, i wasn't sure I like your first one, because it sounded more fun, yeah.

Speaker 4:

So like he he Jade handles Victor, which is not the way like I mean, victor is sensitive, you know, like you can't just go in there and just start rough handling him, you know. And he chases him out of the diner and he wants all the info, because that was the deal You were going to tell me everything about that symbol. And he's like don't you understand? I need to know everything, every little thing, because that could be the thing that gets us home. And he's screaming into his face. And then Victor says what we've been saying all along, all along This is my home And it was heartbreaking. Like all of these people want to get out of there. I know He can't even remember another place. So Tabitha yells at him as she should, and he's like you're yelling And it's like you better believe I'm yelling at you. You are so bad. So she yells at him and then chases after Victor And I was like just so mad, so mad at him.

Speaker 4:

So then we watched Jim and Randall storm into the church. You know, like there are a bunch of Vikings looking for all the clerics or something you know, and and so they, they rush in there and they started on Sarah And they're they're like Jim. Jim comes in kind of calm. It's Randall who's, you know, has no.

Speaker 4:

This is Lazing. He's like bing, bing, bing. And he's like where were you going when you ended up here? And she's like what, what? And you know, he's like, look, we're just trying to find the pattern. And she's like we were going back to Boston. Nathan and I were going back to Boston. But where were you coming from? And she's like I don't know why she didn't want to tell him. But she said New Hope, pennsylvania, and I'm like new hope.

Speaker 3:

Do you know what that is?

Speaker 4:

No, is that near you?

Speaker 3:

Yeah, it's actually on the border of Pennsylvania and New Jersey And it's actually where and I don't think this has anything to do with it that's where Washington's Crossing is.

Speaker 4:

What over the Potomac?

Speaker 3:

No, no, no, Not like in the end of the year, different Washington's Crossing. But on a side note, every Christmas they do a reenactment of that.

Speaker 4:

But it's Wait a minute. Wait a minute Of Washington's Crossing, Or are you?

Speaker 3:

talking about Potomac. That's where he crossed. It's where he crossed.

Speaker 4:

It was Christmas Eve or Christmas night that they cross the Potomac.

Speaker 3:

Well, they do a Christmas day. It's Christmas Eve.

Speaker 4:

I would love to see that.

Speaker 3:

It's actually really good, but it's a little boring because it takes a long time. But once they start doing everything, it's really neat. But the thing about New Hope is and again I'm just going on what it is. It's a very, it's a lot like Colony House In a sense. It's very free, it's very open, it's Live and let live, live and let live. A lot of rainbow frogs and just a lot of massage therapists, but I mean there's a lot of. You can get your palm red there.

Speaker 4:

I just have to look, but at any rate.

Speaker 3:

But I'm just saying it's kind of neat that she was there. I was like OK, how's that play out?

Speaker 4:

Yeah. So trying to like I don't know kind of maybe put Sarah at ease. He's like look, i know that you didn't want to kill Ethan.

Speaker 3:

Yes.

Speaker 4:

I know that you didn't want to do it, But you know, and that this place did it to you. And then Randall's favorite person comes in.

Speaker 3:

Hold on, hold on one second. I got to play this.

Speaker 5:

All I have to say about this episode is Donna is the best. She won that Dick swinging contest with that guy flat out. She is by far my favorite character on this series.

Speaker 3:

Sorry, I couldn't resist. It was just the greatest line ever.

Speaker 4:

OK, all right, So anyway. so she comes in and she's got a laundry basket with her and Randall's like right up in her face right away, and she, you know, he asks who. she thinks she is like big shot power drill. Is that what she said?

Speaker 3:

Yeah, she said something about a power drill or something.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, Power drills And he's like you know what, you are just a toll booth operator And I took that and I put it over in my theory box. That's what I did with that, and she's like you know what, i think you're going to want to leave right now.

Speaker 4:

And I don't know what she thinks she's going to do. But at any rate, Jim steps in and he just kind of cools things off, you know, gets it, calms it down, And she's like you know, why don't you guys go? So Jim and Randall leave, And so she, you know, says I need you to help out. You wanted to help out. How are you? Can you so like, can you sew this stuff? Are you, you know, can you sew?

Speaker 3:

You sew yeah.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, can you sew?

Speaker 3:

Not very well Do you know how. I sort of do.

Speaker 4:

Could you replace a button? Yes, i don't think a lot of people.

Speaker 3:

They don't do that much Yeah.

Speaker 4:

So all of you in the chat room, maybe Alex can count or something, but how many of you can actually sew a button on? Because I think it's like a generational thing, like I had home back My mom.

Speaker 3:

I had a mom and a grandmother. My grandmother was a scene what is worked in New York City doing lace and all that kind of stuff. So, oh my God, Things like her dress was actually one piece of lace. Wow Yeah, Wow Yeah.

Speaker 4:

But like my mom sewed clothes for us up to a certain point, i think. the last thing was like I was nine, maybe eight or nine.

Speaker 3:

Wait, you got to love this one. Yeah, my mom made me sew those damn socks.

Speaker 4:

No, you darned them which means it's a hole.

Speaker 3:

Oh yeah, you have to do that. I'm sorry, i couldn't do that I couldn't do that.

Speaker 4:

And then the thing is like when you darn it, depending on where the the darning is, you're stepping on this hard thing because you've, like you know, brought your socks together so that you know you could keep the thread going. But yeah, darning socks.

Speaker 3:

Here's another one.

Speaker 4:

It's sort of self-evident, though I don't know. I don't know. There are people like I was never able to use the sticky stuff to iron a hem. Oh, I love Stitch Witchery. Stitch Witchery is like magic, But anyway, we're getting off the point.

Speaker 3:

I know we're totally. this is going to turn into a different podcast. Yeah, i know, maybe we're going to be pulling out the cricket and we're going to be making all sorts of wonderful things with the cricket.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, All right. So what I wanted to do now is I wanted to go over and talk about and cover all of Victor's memories. You know they parse them out to us, but it was that little boy, I think his name is Aliyah.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, I think so.

Speaker 4:

He was amazing. He was just amazing. You know the fear on his face, you know like just being so scared and so sad. And you know Victor is remembering the last time he saw his mother And someone had posted somewhere that she was wearing Tabitha's bracelet that they found in the storeroom which is odd because that's how it would have ended up in from. But how did it get from?

Speaker 3:

To from.

Speaker 4:

Did. Jim made it right. Jim made it and gave it to Tabitha. One of them made it And yeah, I know it's.

Speaker 3:

How the hell did it get to from?

Speaker 4:

Yeah, I think. I made it and gave it to Tabitha, and so you know, people have been talking about time leaps like that. Fatima is Elgin's mother and that's who was drowning Elgin in the dream, right? But when Tabitha finds the bracelet in the storeroom, she's like we lost it. How did it get here, you know? so I was looking at it. I think she was wearing Tabitha's bracelet. It was hard They don't give you a close up, but I think she was wearing the bracelet.

Speaker 3:

Well, I think the fans think so.

Speaker 4:

What's that? Oh, ding, ding, ding. Yep, it was the bracelet. Oh, thank you, Delcini. Am I saying your name correctly? Tabitha made it for Jim from Jim's father's bootlaces, right, Okay, And there's a. They know it's theirs because there was an error in it, a flaw, All right. So anyway, this the first scene we see is his mom, you know, saying I need you to stay in here all night, I don't want you to leave, Don't come out until the morning. And she's like she hands him the sharpener with the crayons and she's like just draw your pictures. And he backs up and he just sits down and he's like oh, my God, you know, because she leaves right. And then Victor said that they, oh no, did I miss some of these? What? And all right. So then, you know, the mom is saying again, we go back. And she's she's saying I need to go do this, I need you both, I need you to stay here And I need you to watch your sister. And then Eloise comes up, Right, And we I think they were twins- I don't know.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, i wouldn't be surprised They cut. I mean, i know that they were two different actors, probably not related, but I thought they looked similar and more similar than brother and sister, but more like twins. And this time she hands the crayons to the sister and she says draw your pictures. And the mom leaves, goes through the bulkhead and the door closes and the sister is like I gotta go with her, i want to go with mommy, and drops the little sharpener with the crayons and runs after the mother and Victor is like he's just there, you know you know, i do want to, i do want to just go back a little bit on that scene.

Speaker 3:

You know he says something about pictures in general. One he says to Ethan you only do pictures to remember the bad things, remember things. And he also says, he also says to Tabitha it's not good to ask questions.

Speaker 4:

Right.

Speaker 3:

Yeah.

Speaker 4:

And I'm going to get to that. So the thing was like Tabitha, after, you know, she chases him down up at colony house and goes to see him because one I feel like she needs to assuage him after what Jade did, and she wants to because what Jade did was awful. But she wants to find, she wants to find out about the symbol. You know, she wants to know more about that symbol because Jade, she didn't know to ask Victor about the symbol when they were in the cavern, but now she does. So he starts telling her about, you know, because she's holding, she sees the little crayon sharpener and she's like I remember these. And he, you know, that's when we find out that it was his sisters, that he had a sister, and so he said we were going to go home.

Speaker 4:

After that, that next morning we were going home And he doesn't remember. But the picture, you know, because he's like she's like what happened? And he's like I don't remember, but the pictures might. And she's, he, she's like what pictures? And he's like that's when he starts to get upset And he's like hid some pictures. And the next thing we know we are out in the car graveyard and they get there and he's touching his mother's car and it's soothing him to just touch the car, you know. And so then she, he takes her to the trunk and he opens the trunk and then there's this whole cache of pictures And he starts, you know, sifting through them because he's looking for this one in particular, and notice there was a bus picture, two people standing out in front of it. Then notice that someone is shooting people. Who was doing that?

Speaker 3:

Boyd's wife.

Speaker 4:

Boyd's wife, right. And then, but it's a man shooting another person, Right, that was Boyd, right. So then there's a picture of Eloise. He was looking for that picture of him and Eloise. Then there was one picture down to the side. It almost looked like a bunch of stones, but with the way that it was colored it was like black circles and it was like heavier black and then a face on the inside but they're all smiling And I was like I wonder if those are the kids that Tabitha is seeing. And oh, this was one. Yeah. Then I was like here's the difference. He started drawing after Eloise was gone. Eloise was predicting the future with her drawings. She didn't live to see that bus. She didn't live to see Abby shooting people and then Boyd having to shoot Abby. She also didn't live to see that tower.

Speaker 3:

The lighthouse.

Speaker 4:

I called it a tower.

Speaker 3:

It's the little house. Yeah, it was the lighthouse, though.

Speaker 4:

Because it was like yellow at the top.

Speaker 3:

Like where the light would be. Yeah, it's the lighthouse. It's called the tower, but it was the lighthouse that Boyd and Sarah had.

Speaker 4:

So he said this was where my mother was going that night. She was going to go save the children that were in the tower. So he picks up, let's see, he processes his heart breaking. So he's looking at the picture of him and Eloise and it's coming all back to him. Everything that he saw, everything he's experienced, the loss that he's felt, that he has just stuffed down because who was he going to tell?

Speaker 3:

Exactly.

Speaker 4:

And he instead started coping. So, all right. So there's all these dead people in the street. I'm going to bury them. What else am I going to do? There's all these cars in the street. I can't stand to look at them. I'm going to move them over here. So the thing that I wondered? because my mother went to save the children that were locked in the tower right, when Tabitha sees the children the first time, they're locked behind those sticks in the cavern. So these kids are trapped And it's like when they start coming to her, maybe they because we can't tell if they what their intention is but they're begging her to save them. So maybe it had become it was Victor's mother's job, but now it's become Tabitha's job, but she doesn't know it yet. So he didn't Jade wait a minute, didn't tell Jade about the symbol, because it's not good to ask these questions. You look for answers because they don't come back, like people that look for answers, don't come back, because what happened is mother went to free the kids.

Speaker 3:

And then she died.

Speaker 4:

They don't think that it's a way out. He just doesn't think that there is a way out of this place. And Tabitha says bad things happen no matter what. And they do, bad things happen to us. So anyway, he says to Tabitha when they're out at the graveyard he's like you're a nice lady and Ethan is my friend and I want to help And I was like that just sounds like such a kid. And she asked him to be brave And he's like that's what my mom told me the last time I saw her And it's like but that whole performance was just. I was glad they didn't gloss over it. I was glad that they gave it the time to unfold. I thought it was wonderful. It was just wonderful.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, no it was great. I mean, scott did a great job on the current part And I think that he just played it so well, so vulnerable And well. It's funny because when we interviewed Scott and I know I keep dropping these things, they're all starting to make more sense Him and Catalina were going to work together, and now we know why Because we were probably filming this scene.

Speaker 4:

Well, yeah, they were sharing a lot of scenes together, so they drove in together, because they don't live there.

Speaker 3:

They all live in a rented place of some kind.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, they stay in rented places, but they don't live there, so it's not like their families may come to visit or whatever. But why not drive to work together, because we have to be there at the same time?

Speaker 4:

Plus we can discuss our work today. So let's transition back to Boyd. And he goes to Kenny's house because he wants to tell Kenny about Elgin's idea about the Silver Bullets, because they know they've got to get the vial on these monsters somehow or in these monsters somehow. So he goes over to Kenny's house and he sees the burn and notice I'm trying to move my leg and I'm moving everything else, sorry guys. He notices the burn and notice how Kenny takes his arms and puts them behind him. He hides his arms from. I mean, he's already noticed it, but I guess he just doesn't want to think about it, right? So from there they go over to the hospital and Kristie and Marielle are there.

Speaker 3:

Marielle is not looking good, she is really in the throes of this, She's like best of the world.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, she does right. Oh, and I want to mention because I went back and looked at her dream and when she sees Miley, that scared face is amazing. That is the second best scared face I've ever seen. My number one is Damien Lewis in oh crap, i can't think of the movie, but he's looking at this monster. I loved this book so much It's a Stephen King book Dreamcatcher. I love this book so much I read it twice, like once, you know, i finished it and then started it over again And then when the movie came out, i had to see the movie. But when Damien Lewis looks up at the monster in the book, i've never seen anyone look so scared. It was amazing. And then there was Marielle. So so Mary is detoxing and they're hearing noises down in the basement And I can't imagine staying in that building even though Marielle is detoxing. But they're hearing freaky noises in the basement and they know that Miley is in the basement.

Speaker 3:

I know.

Speaker 4:

I wouldn't want to stay there. So they go down to look in the basement and Miley is filled with cicadas. So, cicadas, yeah, So he's filled His the chest cavity is filled with them. They're crawling all over the place And the interesting thing is that they've gone from Kenny's dream into reality.

Speaker 3:

Right.

Speaker 4:

They're. you know Kenny's not the only one looking at it, just like boy isn't the only one seeing the music.

Speaker 3:

I do want to say this. I do want to say this And somebody put it in the chat, i think it was Kara, but I'm not sure. I love how they're all starting to open up more. Yeah, like like they're trying to make the puzzle more of a. You know, they're trying to find the edges of the puzzle. Yeah, trying to find it. And when he, when he throws that, that sheet over and sees all those cicadas, they fill the room.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, and and they're like yeah, cause like before they like you can see them moving and you're like but what I found funny is, you know, boy, boy's got to get over himself.

Speaker 3:

In a way It's like Kenny's not a kid, christie's not a kid, ellis is not a kid. You know, he tried to do that with the, with the spike.

Speaker 4:

But they are kids to boy, boy. It's the white patch.

Speaker 3:

No, i understand that, but they've been in this world enough that it's not so much that, yes, they are kids, but they're not kids because they're very seasoned in this world.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, yeah, you know. Thinking about the cicadas under the sheet just reminds me of living in Georgia with all the bugs.

Speaker 3:

Well, that they call, they call, they call roaches. Palmetto bugs there. Well, they are flying roaches, but that, that I can't even.

Speaker 4:

It's that time of year again. Well, i hate them.

Speaker 3:

I hate them. Now Kenny says something that I think is really important. You know he was talking to Boyd, and even I know it wasn't. It wasn't Kenny, it was Merrily. Now our dreams can hurt us. You know it's like it's bad enough. They're coming out at night. Now they're coming out during the day and fall asleep. I mean it's almost. It's almost like Nick me or on Elm Street a little bit. You know it's. I think you know they're using a lot of the classic tropes for horror and you can't really tell Like. I mean, like you know, they use the music box, they use the night, they use the day. You know they're starting to use dream. It's getting really good to try to puzzle this all together.

Speaker 4:

You know the interesting thing? I'm just not thinking of this, right, if you think about what people have said, haven't most of them like? the longest one we've heard of being there is Fatima at a year. Everyone else they haven't been there that long.

Speaker 3:

No, I just think it happened to be her time.

Speaker 4:

No, no, no, think about it. All right, they haven't been there that long. What did Victor say? You start asking questions and things are, you know, bad things happen. Victor has been the one constant there for the last 30 plus years. Maybe Victor has watched this happen again and again, and again. He is the history of that place and he hasn't figured it out, because if he could get himself out of there, i think he would have long before now and he can't get out and just these people keep showing up. But I think they come in waves because, remember, he hadn't seen anybody, like he hadn't seen the boy in white since the morning after, right, that was the first time he saw him And then he hadn't seen. See, i'm going to disagree with you about Donna. Donna, let me finish this.

Speaker 3:

All right.

Speaker 4:

So this is why I can't be interrupted.

Speaker 3:

I'm sorry, I'm sorry.

Speaker 4:

So now I don't remember where.

Speaker 3:

I was That's okay, that's okay And we'll be back.

Speaker 4:

There's a problem because Donna said to Fatima I remember the day you drove in, But then recently in this season she said she'd only been there for six months. So there's no way she could have seen Fatima drive in if she had only been there for six months, when Fatima has been there for a year. So at any rate, I think, oh, it was the boy in white. So the boy in white, he hadn't seen him since that morning. And then all of a sudden the Matthews family shows up and Ethan sees him the first day that he's in the town. So after he's been taken out of the RV, he looks out his window from colony house and there's the boy in white And Ethan says something to Victor about him And Victor's like I haven't seen him in a long time.

Speaker 4:

So what does that mean, You know? So maybe this has happened more than once, where waves of people come in and they die. But we know they well, yeah, we don't know. So then they all die, then it's just Victor and it happens again. But maybe the fact that this time the boy in white showed up, that maybe this time all the pieces are falling into place so that these people can get out of there.

Speaker 3:

But as much as he's shown up, he hasn't shown up.

Speaker 4:

We haven't seen him yet.

Speaker 3:

I'm saying we haven't seen him. We only saw him last season with the whole, I mean with the trade.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, that was the last time we saw him.

Speaker 3:

So then Donna shows up.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, she shows up.

Speaker 3:

And you know, because she just needs to do it arounds. And then you know, the best part that I love about this is Boyd. you got something explaining to do, you know, and Donna shows knows about Smiley. Now, what I love about when Boyd tells her he's like they were cicadas here. They were all over the place, yeah.

Speaker 4:

And he saw them Now.

Speaker 3:

look, he's like Kenny saw them. It's not like I'm making this crap up.

Speaker 4:

And then the thing is like he said I closed the door Right. The thing is like if the door was closed and we know the door was closed, the cicadas were in there. How did they get in there? Then he closed the door when they left and now the cicadas are gone.

Speaker 3:

How'd they? yeah, they left the same way they came.

Speaker 4:

So there must be another way in or out, or they just materialize and dematerialize, right? So, donna is like you've gotta burn this body. You know They're outside, they've got the body all wrapped up and they're putting it in a cart And I'm looking in the background and I'm like the sun is setting. Either the sun is setting or the sun is rising, and they've just you know that's when they're filming, but either way, like they're at the beginning of the day or they're at the end of the day. And so, since they don't know what will happen when they burn the body, boyd suggests that they sleep and shifts.

Speaker 3:

And then Donna also suggests that they bring it far enough out, so nobody can see it.

Speaker 4:

Right, yeah, because otherwise people are gonna be freaking out about that, wondering what's going on. So he's like I'll bring Sarah over to the Sheriff's Station. And he was like you know, you and Christie, christie and Marielle can come to the Sheriff's Station. And she's like there is no way I am gonna sleep in the same bed as that girl Because, you know, Sarah kind of screwed her.

Speaker 3:

Pretty much.

Speaker 4:

And plus, you know, yeah, she screwed her, she, you know, took the scalpel, but then you know, put that question kind of not trying to.

Speaker 3:

But what was neat about that particular scene was so they go and burn Smiley, but the last thing that you see in that scene is Randall.

Speaker 4:

Well, hold on a second, hold on a second. Donna wants aspirin and they don't need it.

Speaker 3:

Oh yeah, she wants aspirin. That's why she came. There's no aspirin, but there's plenty of bile.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, but then we see, like you said, we see Randall peeking out at them, so he has followed. So I think what happened was Donna was talking to Jim down in the town. then Donna was like my head is going to explode So she walks up to the hospital. Randall was watching Donna talk to Jim.

Speaker 3:

Then they showed that. They showed that.

Speaker 4:

And we didn't even talk about that because there's a conversation between Donna and Jim that I need to make a point about. But I think he follows Donna from the town over to the hospital and then he sees them with that body, but he doesn't know anything about Smiley, so he's not going to think it's a monster, right, but obviously it's a dead body, you know. So the thing that I think I said this last week, but Kenny in the street, clothes with the gun, just reminds me of Riggs from Lethal Weapon. He looks like Riggs, i can't help it. Every time I see him, the way he's standing when he pulls the gun out, i'm like, oh, he just looks like Riggs, but they bring the body out somewhere away from everybody. The sun is setting, but it could have been an overcast sky too.

Speaker 3:

No, it looked like it was setting. It looked like it was setting, I think it was.

Speaker 4:

I was trying to give them the benefit of the doubt that they're out so late in the day, But they like I don't know why they had to have a torch, but they had a torch.

Speaker 3:

Because it's good for a fact.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, it's good, you know. So they burn the body.

Speaker 3:

But yeah, i do want to go back to two things about Jim, if it's okay. One is at the diner. He tells Julie that he's got a plan and that he's going to stay out in the RV with the talisman.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, I got a talisman.

Speaker 3:

And don't tell mom and I'll be fine. Then he has a conversation with Donna.

Speaker 4:

That says something about Tabitha not noticing he's in bed, not in bed.

Speaker 3:

Well, we're not going to go there. But the other thing that we need to talk about is Donna keeps showing up, so she has that conversation with Jim and she says something interesting. and Jim lied. He might not intentionally have lied, but she lied. You're lying too. So he's having this conversation and I hope And he calls him a moron.

Speaker 3:

Well, wait, i want to know if the listeners also heard this lie. So they're having a conversation and she's like you didn't tell him that you heard something on the radio. And he's like, no, well, he kind of didn't. he kind of didn't. He told him that he had a response, but he didn't tell him what the response was.

Speaker 4:

So he did definitely lie, i'm not going to tell him. Yeah, he did tell him, but the thing is, notice how, when she's talking about it, she's whispering. They're outside, no one's around them.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, but she also feels that if it gets out, people are going to start-.

Speaker 4:

But there's no one around them.

Speaker 3:

I know.

Speaker 4:

He's whispering. She's whispering to him. I love this. She thinks the place is bugged. Yeah, that is sus, but I think she's doing her job. Like, the fact that she's showing up at all of these places is just telling me even more that she is one of the moles.

Speaker 3:

She's a sus.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, so she's showing up places, randall's showing up places, boyd is showing up places, because Boyd makes his rounds. He goes from Sarah to Ellis, to Donna well, sarah to Colony House, and they're over at the hospital, right? So then, like Kenny says, just to end this, kenny says that monsters coming out of the dreams is scary.

Speaker 3:

Right.

Speaker 4:

So, like all of this, stuff has been scary, but monsters coming out of our dreams is beyond that. It is something else, absolutely. He's telling me Absolutely. Yeah.

Speaker 3:

You haven't Oh, I'm sorry.

Speaker 4:

So Donna ends at Colony House. She goes from the hospital back to Colony House Maybe she's gonna lie down or something like that because the woman has a headache. So he follows her back there and he's like hey, donna, like I'm wondering if we can talk.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, he's trying to make nice nice.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, like maybe we get off on the wrong foot. You know, maybe I'm your long lost son, you know, or maybe I'm just in love with you, i don't know, but I need to talk to you. So you know, donna's given him the stern look, but he's like, you know, can we just kind of start over, type thing, and so she's like sure. So then we see Jim walking out to the RV because he's gonna meet Randall out there, because one of the things they talked about was, you see, what they want you to see.

Speaker 3:

Right.

Speaker 4:

What if you watch them when they don't know that you're watching them And I don't know that they wouldn't know that they're in the RV? I mean, they may be able to smell, you know, like maybe their insides are dried out and it's not functional, but they obviously have some kind of mechanism in the head that's working.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, no, no, i get it. I mean, there's a lot to be said. Now he comes up and then he's, he has this. Randall's got a new plan.

Speaker 4:

Well, yeah, he hears Donna calling him and there's. he walks around because he walks up and he sees Donna's van. Right.

Speaker 4:

He's like what is this doing up here? Then he walks around to the back and the hatch is open. There's a blood stain and he's like, okay, And then he keeps walking and Donna calls his name and she's tied to a tree and she's been hitting the head And there's Randall just standing there just kind of like with a knife, just kind of stabbing the tree. Yeah, And I do think that that's what's happening, that you know, Randall is using Donna as bait. That's what I think. The thing is, if Donna is tied up out there, Right.

Speaker 4:

Then how are they really just watching what they're doing when they think they're not being watched?

Speaker 3:

Because Donna's an integral part. But what he's saying is if Donna gets eaten, that it's like a witch. If she gets burned, I guess she's not a witch. If she doesn't get burned, then she's a witch Either way.

Speaker 6:

It doesn't matter.

Speaker 3:

I know I'm not saying it's right, but you know how they oh if I burn you. So I mean, maybe that's a theory, because he thinks she's a mole.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, i don't know that he thinks that, but since we're talking about that, let's transition into that. I like I did not like seeing her there like that. I do not like Randall treating my Donna like that. So when I saw that I was like I wonder if he might be a higher ranking mole.

Speaker 3:

That's what I'm thinking.

Speaker 4:

And he is gonna take her out because she's not doing her job And so he's taking her out the hard way. you know, did the fact that Jim got through to somebody on the radio that's like a no-no, like they're not supposed to be doing that stuff. Although, why the heck would the radio be there? if this is an experiment and they trap an engineer there, of course the engineer is gonna mess with the radio, like not just an engineer, but you know someone as gifted as Jade. Why wouldn't they be playing with that radio, right? So, at any rate, i think he might be Donna's boss. And because Jim went too far and Jim's saying things, you know, he's telling people, he's like telling everybody. I heard a voice. I heard a voice and she was like don't say anything. What makes you think that people aren't watching us, that we're not being watched, right? So because Sheila, jim, get out of hand, like that she has to die.

Speaker 3:

You know what it's the theory. I mean I'm looking in the chat. I mean I don't think that that's that detail just yet, but-.

Speaker 4:

It is in my head.

Speaker 3:

Okay, but that's one person's head At the same time. You know, he could just be using her bait because he thinks she's the mole And he's just crazy.

Speaker 4:

I mean it could be. he could just be using her as bait because he doesn't wanna listen to her anymore. Exactly, and that's my point.

Speaker 3:

It may not be like he's the boss. I mean, you're going down, you're going down a deep dive of YouTube right now, and I'm not saying that's a bad thing.

Speaker 4:

I'm just I'm making this deep dive.

Speaker 4:

I know you are So and I'm adding more, more to my whole Donna thing. She warns Jim about telling people And she's not just like hey, maybe you don't wanna say that, she's utterly emphatic, don't say anything, don't talk about it to anybody, don't tell anyone, don't say anything, and you know which stinks, because she's the only one he can talk to about it. So she's just like why is it a good sign? we need to keep our mouths shut. But then in episode eight, you know she was showing up all the time at just the right time, like like she went in there almost like find a job through Sarah, I'm gonna go down there and I'm gonna walk in, because Jim and Randall are there and Randall could get out of hand. Right, i gotta stop Randall. So I feel like they're kind well, not kind of, but they are opposing.

Speaker 3:

There's something going on And yeah, we just can't.

Speaker 4:

There's something going on Then? what's going on over at the church? Not the church? What's going on over at the hospital? They've got one of the monsters go over there and check it out, you know. So, at any rate, i just think that that was it. You know. Instead, she ran into, you know, boyd Christie, kenny and Mario.

Speaker 1:

Okay, over there.

Speaker 3:

Do you have any other notes?

Speaker 4:

That ends my notes.

Speaker 3:

You sure. Okay, now I'm gonna start my part of the podcast. Just kidding, we did get a bit of feedback, did you get? did you get the one from Jody?

Speaker 4:

Yeah, I just have to pull it up.

Speaker 3:

Okay, well, you're doing that, i'm gonna. We got two pieces of feedback that I'm gonna apply.

Speaker 4:

Oh, this one from Steve that we just got.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, i put that in too, so, all right, the first one that we got I'm gonna do right now is Sam from Boston. I think this is the right one.

Speaker 1:

Hi Alex and Lizzie Sam from Boston. Oh my gosh, another great episode and the ideas of moles. I mean that would make so much sense. I am right there with Jim on this being an experiment, although I think both him and Tabitha could be correct. It could be humans running this experiment, or aliens, or Supernatural creatures, or whatever I do like all this evidence does seem to point in, at least for me, that this is some sort of experiment being done to. Whether it's for fun or like just to see how we do things. I'm not sure yet, but it does sort of seem that way and You would have to have, like you know what Science scientists called Confederates in the experiment or people who are in on it in the experiment. They really need to get a new term for that.

Speaker 1:

I like moles better, and so I. I'll be great if it was Donna heartbreaking, but great, and It would just such a good, good narrative twist. Also, i'm wondering if that's a nice in on it. I'm wondering if either, like you had said, like she was blackmailed, or she has to do it for whatever reason, she shows up as, like the moral compass, but like like this bringer of light, and everyone's gonna talk to her and she can. She can be helpful and supportive and keep up morale And it would explain why she's had this sudden like dip down, because she's experienced all these traumas and it's like the real nature of the experiment is starting to come at her.

Speaker 1:

And I'm fairly certain Elgin is at this point. He keeps having knowing glances or knowing looks like he kind of thinks and kind of remembers. I don't know if he was like maybe one of the scientists involved in the experiment or You know and whatever, and they decided to put him into the experiment or he decided he wanted to go in But they had a white. This memory or that's what happens when you go in to it on the bus. I'm I don't know. I have so many thoughts, but he definitely is. He looks a little too knowing and it makes sense If he is involved. He's starting to remember it. He can't tell anyone that Because, like they're gonna be like wait a minute, you're a part of this, you know this, oh no, and so like you have to kind of keep that a secret there. But yeah, this it just seems so interesting and I do this Jade, i know he's in a lot of stuff, but I would like to see more of him as his hair gets wilder and wilder as All right.

Speaker 4:

His hair is getting crazier like he. He's almost looking differently Every single time.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, he's got a bushy hair and bushy Bushes beard Yeah, like he.

Speaker 4:

he looks different every week, but I Don't know about Fatima being a mole, but Definitely Donna so I feel like Donna might be being blackmailed or something like that.

Speaker 3:

So why don't you read from the international jest from Australia, jodi.

Speaker 4:

Jodi. But oh yeah, okay, Once again, donna is my girl in this show. Just when I don't think she can get any smarter or brava or more on point, she does. When she said a miracle is just the other side of a nightmare, i really felt it in my heart, in my personal life. I'm in a nightmare at the moment. It started yesterday and I don't know where it's going to end, but hearing those words from Donna, a spark of hope, reignited me. Jodi, i hope everything's okay by the time we hear that you're hearing this. Yeah, today's the 11th. You sent this on the 8th. I'm sorry that that's happening. So weird that the help and hope I needed right now came from the show, which is full of nightmares and roadblocks. Looking forward to hearing your voices, guys. Oh, jodi, i hope everything's okay, jodi.

Speaker 3:

We have one other piece of feedback that we just got, and it's from Mr Live, steve himself All right.

Speaker 6:

Hello, alex and Lizzie. This is Steve and this is where, from season two, episode eight Oh, i just see the image of that nightmare fodder, of the woman pushing the elgin back into the bathtub. Oh well, kenny's having a dream. How people have freaky dreams in this show. It's simple. This is good investigative work actually Randall's doing trying to figure out who the mole is. But I still think it could be Randall, nathan, oh, oh, that's right. Sarah killed her brother. Oh, sounds like Jade is gonna go interrogate Victor. Well, it looks like Ellis has healed up pretty fast. Huh, that's interesting.

Speaker 6:

How would you get liquid into the bullet? Yes, you could do a hollow point and you could fill it and then and then cover it with something. Maybe Might work for like, like a silver bullet. I think Victor just said it. I think I called it last week. This is his home.

Speaker 6:

Randall, i do not think you want to tussle with Donna. I'm not sure how that would turn out, you guys, she's pretty tough. Oh so, randall, and what's? Jim, the husband? They're gonna stay the night in the RV with a talisman.

Speaker 6:

Okay, so Victor has other pictures that he put away because he doesn't want to remember them. He doesn't want the things to happen. I wonder where those pictures are. Lloyd boy, do you not know anything about how? oh, you can't just put that bile on a bullet and coat it and think it's gonna leave the barrel with all the heat And it's still gonna be. It's not gonna work, brother, what is behind this door? Kenny's got his gun out, but boy doesn't have his. What were those things? what buzzing? they're not Roaches that fly. What were they? Oh, a cicada. A cicada is a flying cockroach. Donna's asked her after it. Aspirin, try a warm compress f right off. Oh, victor had a sister. Realize something, at least for this episode. Kenny, i know he said he doesn't have boys back, but really, this episode he's had boys back this whole episode. Oh, randall, oh, and that's the end of the episode. Randall has Donna tied to a tree And that's the end. And it looks like there's a new people there. Gosh, all right, next week can't come soon enough.

Speaker 3:

Well, thank you so much, Steve, for your awesome feedback every week. We love it.
