Kinetic Restoration is flipping the script on "massage therapy". Our team of massage therapists will find the root cause of your neck pain, back pain, etc and work to restore optimal functioning of the involved kinetic chain. That means we don't just skim over the whole body, or throw an elbow into the place that hurts! There's a lot of reasons why we could have pain in an area - but it's rarely just "where it hurts" . Our Human Movement Specialists also coach clients through corrective exercises to achieve long term injury relief.
The owner, Janelle Cooper, started her massage therapy career shortly after a local massage therapist and chiropractor helped her overcome a back injury. Her experience working as a personal trainer and physical therapy aide gave her a solid foundation, and massage therapy completed the venn diagram of "do what you love, what you're good at, and what can provide for you". She started Kinetic Restoration in 2020 and quickly outgrew her tiny room on Great Neck Rd. Janelle wanted to create a workplace that empowered massage therapists to use their knowledge and skills to help people in pain. Our location has expanded twice in Virginia Beach (plus added Moyock, NC location) and we've had tremendous success helping clients understand their pain. We help them eliminate many common issues instead of relying on pharmaceuticals, injections, or OTC pain management. Don't expect to fall asleep during our massages - although some people do! We want to harness the mind-muscle connection with an active style of massage so that your body gets the "reboot" it needs.
