Biblical Plan for Separation with the Intent of Reconciliation + Restoration
Purpose
The goal of a biblical separation is to provide space to evaluate and repair the broken parts of the marriage, resulting in two healthy people and a restored marriage that both spouses love.
Guidelines for Healing
Time frame:
Boundaries regarding communication with the opposite sex:
Types of counseling, consistency and frequency for wife:
Types of counseling, consistency and frequency for husband:
Expectations regarding enjoyable time together:
Expectations regarding communication and intimacy:
Living arrangements:
Care of the children; schedule for stays at home:
Goals that must be met for the separation to end and couple to be reunified:
- Counseling conditions outlined above have been met.
- Spouses have demonstrated only healthy behaviors for a prolonged period of time that creates trust and confidence that the spouse is healthy and safe for the couple to be together again.
