Empowering Women at All Stages: Pelvic Floor & Beyond
We are back with our next episode, continuing with our theme of "We've Never Really Studied the Female Body." Today, I'm chatting with Lisa, a fellow physical therapist who specializes in women's health, working with unique demographics such as dancers and those who are hyper-mobile.
What's clear in this conversation is that most women tend to normalize their health when there is actually an issue that needs to be addressed, or we interweave underlying health issues into our every day. It's critical that if we start to notice a change, that we start to ask the right questions. Lisa too frequently sees women who think it's normal to have to start scheduling their days around the accessibility of the bathroom, or not drinking too much water, or having pain while being intimate. This doesn't have to be your life!
Listen in as we talk about the journey of hormonal changes, prolapse, pregnancy, co-morbidities to pelvic health issues, misconceptions of strength training and Kegels, and how to ultimately take back your pelvic floor health while fighting for your health care.
