Tracy's Experience: Why Self-Care isn't Selfish
As we roll into a new year, Season 3 of the podcast is continuing within the theme of "We've Never Really Studied the Female Body." Today, Tracy is at the helm discussing why this season's focus is on the female body -- and why she is a passionate advocate for self-care and empowering women to talk about their health!
In this episode, we hear more about Tracy's journey with some of her own health struggles, as well as some of her patients, and working together to dismantle the generational programming of not speaking up about health challenges. We cover menstrual cycles, peri-menopause, menopause, UTI's, cancer diagnoses, and more -- all within the perspective of trusting yourself, finding a doctor that listens to you and your concerns, having honest conversations with your female friends and family members, and playing detective with your health!
Stressing the importance of self-care, community and conversation, this is an episode you'll want to share with your friends as we talk about ways to improve your quality of life. We are working to change what has been the status quo for women over multiple generations - where instead of not advocating for ourselves or each other, we come together to fight for our healthcare through knowledge, education, and power.
