Episode 21: Frankie Holbrook | From the Streets to Harvard

Kirk Driskell Episode 21

This Week we were joined by Frankie Holbrook Owner and Founder of  @shinehislightministries114
.
Growing up in Forsyth County, Ga Frankie always knew she marched to a different beat than her community. While some at the time could not look past race, Frankie wrote her first book at 12 years old! Performing in every play possible, by the time she was in her teens she was seeking out auditions in Atlanta and never looked back. By 18, she was in New York on the streets and was homeless. Learning some hard lessons at a young age, during her 20’s, she was completely lost. This is one of the reasons she believed she was called to the streets, to help the lost, the addicts, the prostitutes, and the suicidal drunks, because, at one point, Frankie was all of those things. She overcame every single one of them through the love of Christ.
.
This is what led to the Founding of Shine His Light Ministries, a ministry for the homeless, the lost, the broken, and anyone who needs to know Jesus still loves them. Shine His Light Ministries was born out of a call Frankie had from Jesus to shine his light in the darkest of places. They have been around for almost 2 years. While other groups may speak about issues in these areas, they actually go into these areas and develop relationships with these people. Not just serving food, but serving the lord!
.
Among the numerous books written and released, she is currently working on a new one "Surviving Suicide: Losses and Attempts". Check them out on Amazon if you are looking for that extra boost of Motivation!
