Phil Thorpe has nearly 30 years of experience flying breeding population (BPOP) and May Ponds surveys for the USFWS. He provides insight into how the survey process works from a counting perspective and what he saw from the air this past spring and summer. Thorpe cuts through the data and number crunching to provide human observations about duck numbers and habitat.
