A two-week challenge to stop drinking turned into a full-body wake-up call, and then something even bigger. Erin Gallagher spent seventeen years numbing herself with meth, crack, and eventually alcohol, sleeping in storage sheds by twenty-one and telling herself it was all she'd ever be. When a friend finally challenged her to quit drinking, she agreed mostly to prove him wrong. Within two days she was shaking through withdrawal, and within weeks she was having a spiritual awakening so intense that lights would flicker whenever she walked into a room.

Erin unpacks the long shadow of growing up in an alcoholic household: people-pleasing, freezing, learned helplessness, and the victim story that says you can't change. She explains why different recovery paths work for different people, including frameworks like Adult Children of Alcoholics, and how holistic practices like Reiki, tarot, Akashic Records, and intuitive development supported her own healing. Maria shares her own first unexpected energy-healing experience at a spa in Miami, crying through an entire session before she even understood what Reiki was, and together they challenge the phrase "everything happens for a reason," offering a more honest option: choosing purpose without minimizing pain.

If you've been wrestling with faith, guilt, or feeling "too sensitive," this conversation gets practical. Erin shares grounding rituals, energetic boundaries, and why taking one small action can break a stuck cycle faster than you think.

SPEAKER_00

Thank you, Marie. I'm so excited to be here and to talk about all the things so exciting and inspired. I love it.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, so what is your against all odds story?

Seventeen Years Of Addiction Ends

SPEAKER_02

Where did it all start for you?

SPEAKER_00

So my against all odds story, if I kind of start from going backwards, is when I stopped drinking after 17 years of alcohol addiction, of doing drugs, of all the things like that. And when I stopped, that's when I had my big awakening. I was like, I had when you are either an addict or anything else where you're like numbing or hiding or trying to cover your true self because of fear and it's all stripped away, or you stop doing something. Sometimes you don't realize, oh, I've been numbing myself or being this false identity for 20 years, 30 years, however long. And I didn't realize because I was in such deep denial from so many years of addiction, how deeply numbed out I was when I stopped drinking. I just thought, oh, I'm just gonna do this. It was like a test. Someone challenged me to stop drinking for two weeks, and I kept saying, No, I was against it, right? I was like, no, I have a trip to Vegas. I have my birthday. I have there was always something. And after he challenged me a bunch, I was fine, finally, I was like, fine, I'll do it and I'll show you. And then within two days of quitting, I was like having I was shaking and I did not realize how deeply addicted I was. But what happened was I had this huge spiritual awakening and I started, I mean, it was to the point where I would walk into a room and the lights would flicker. I was affecting electronics and stuff like that. And I was everywhere I would go, the lights would go out or something. I was like getting freaked out because of it. But so that's kind of where it started. But the against all odds part is that I grew up in a very chaotic alcoholic household. My dad was alcoholic, and the way that I coped was they say fight or flight. I was freeze. So I was always freezing or fawning, trying to make everything okay and everyone okay. So I became a people pleaser that way. So my identity was formed around trying to be who I thought people wanted me to be, or so that I could make the household safe. And then after years of trying to do that, you realize there's nothing I can do to make things safe. It's just like this. I started using drugs at a very young age. So I was doing meth and smoking crack and sleeping in storage sheds. And I mean, I just went straight from good kid just graduating high school to the worst of the worst. And I feel like I told someone that story, and she goes, You became the perfectly worst version of yourself. Because I was talking about how I had the perfectionist stuff, and she was like, You went the opposite way and just became the perfect. I was like, that's exactly what I did. And so after I'd say six years of really heavy addiction from the age of like 16 to 21, I moved to Boston from Washington State. But when I moved, I just replaced the drugs for alcohol. So then I became an alcoholic and was an alcoholic for another 13 years. So what happened was after quitting everything and having my huge spiritual awakening, I was having insane panic attacks and and spots would happen all the time, near-death experiences or almost passing out and not knowing what was happening to me. And so I went the route of holistic healing and I started going to spiritual, holistic supporters and classes and tarot and akashic records and Reiki and healers. And in doing that, I supported myself in healing my drug and alcohol addiction naturally and holistically. And so it was because it was really hard not to go, and it takes all kinds. I don't judge any path, but it was I could have very easily just got on a bunch of antidepressants and anti-anxieties and stuff like that. And I walked with myself through it. So that's the biggest piece that I'm connecting with you for, but to talk about like how it doesn't matter how far you go or how bad it gets, you can always rebuild and create the life of your dreams.

Family Cycles And Recovery Paths

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Yeah, I have experience not personally, but I think that my brother's addiction and watching growing up watching him fight that addiction for I think it was like 20 years or so, definitely was the moment of this is all I need to see to not not go down that road. But I watched it and I remember seeing him fight with himself in sleep. And it was it was the roller coaster of a family household that uh parents that didn't want to give up on him, but also knew that they needed to at some point. It was just it was a lot. So I can I could definitely and I see him now in his 40s, had a baby for that he didn't think he was ever gonna have. He got married, like all these, he's phenomenal in his job. It is so cool to see that type of transformation and that type of healing and the way that he went about it. And I think that you're right, everyone has to go about it the way that is best for them. I think that it takes courage when you do it without the additional supplemental help.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, and it helps, it does help. And like I said, how it takes all kinds because people know, and like you said about your brother, like everyone has their own path. And that's why you can't really try to help people that are in it because you're in it, and actually, like my mom always says, I wish I would have done A, B, or C or thrown you into rehab or whatever. And I'm like, actually, mom, you could have made it worse. I could have gone down a different path of like staying an addict longer if someone would have tried to come in and change something. I see it now that I work on a like the psychic level, doing like soul work. I see it as a sort of experiment that my soul took on. Okay, for this many years, I'm gonna do this in order to go down this path, in order to then heal it and then to learn how to help others heal it later as well. And so it's like we were talking about how everything happens for a reason or getting out of the victim story about like how did it happen for me? Um, is really important. And that's why I love about some people do the either medicinal route, some people do the traditional therapy, some people do what I did. There's so many different ways to do it. And I relate to and also honor all kinds. For me, growing up with my dad, he was in AA all the time. And so I grew up in the program in 12-step with him. And so whenever I tried to do 12-step, I loved it, but it felt like my dad's program. So it never felt like me. But there is a program called Adult Children of Alcoholics. Oh, okay. Which I really love because it's about, it's not about like in Al-Anon, it's about the alcoholic or the addict that's affecting you. In AA, it's about the alcohol and the disease of alcoholism. In adult children of alcoholics, it basically means that like you never had a chance to really grow up because you were either in a dysfunctional household. So it's all about how to cope and heal after growing up in a dysfunctional household. So for me, that was really helpful also.

SPEAKER_02

I love that. I never even heard of that. That's amazing.

Boston To LA And The DUI Wakeup

SPEAKER_02

So, how did you then come about? You said in was it in Boston where you started kind of going down this more spiritual journey?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it was kind of cool actually how Spirit led me, how God led me, because it was very kind of went around this a circle in the United States because I grew up in Washington state and I was born in 1980. So I grew up my teenage years in the early 90s, and here in this area of Washington. So I didn't grow up in Seattle, I grew up in the other side, and it was very white, trashy, crank and meth sort of thing. And it was when that started getting really big, like ice or meth or whatever. And so I became it was the perfect circle in the work way, yeah, for that to happen. But so growing up here, that's kind of like I got into that drug scene. And my mom's parents, so my dad's parents live in Washington State, and my mom's parents were lived in Boston. And so my mom, in order to help me, it was basically if I don't move away from my hometown, I'm going to die. Like I was like, I'm gonna overdose and die if I don't get away from these people and myself here, how I was living. And so I moved to Boston, which was huge, but I really needed that all the way across the country thing to completely heal everything. And again, I just switched to booze there, but I fell in with a really great group of people, engineers, very smart. I mean, they were all partiers, we were in our 20s, but it was very stable, but also party. So I got to have that stability and party, but I didn't, I still went on with my craziness in Boston and then, but I went to film school there. And so I went to film school in Boston and the recession hit after a while, and I couldn't get any more film and television jobs in Boston because it's a very small industry there. And so a friend of mine who lived in the Los Angeles area was like, just move into my house. I just got a divorce, I'm mortgaging this house that's open, and so I moved all the way to Los Angeles and started working in reality TV. My gosh. Yeah, and started, but I continued drinking and everything, and it was in LA. That's where I got a DUI, but it still took me another seven to 12 months after getting a DUI to like snap out of it, and have my alcohol teacher, the one that when you get a DUI, you have to get all the classes. And in the class, that was the guy that would challenge me over and over to quit drinking, and I was like, no, I'm not going to. And then so that's where I had my awakening with quitting everything, and then that led me to not only doing the healing on myself, but to realize I think I'm here to do this as my purpose, to do this to help others heal and to find their purpose as

Purpose Over Reason And Self-Trust

SPEAKER_00

well.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I love that. I used to say all the time, everything happens for a reason, blah, blah, blah. I don't believe that anymore. And let me kind of elaborate a little bit. I don't think that there should be a reason for bad things to happen to people that are innocent or children, or I don't there shouldn't be a reason for that. However, I think that when you look at life happening for you and not to you, I feel like we all go through the experiences that we go through and we can find purpose in those experiences. So I I don't believe it should be a reason, but we can always find purpose. So I wouldn't change anything that I have gone through, and I've gone through so many things in my life because it's made me who I am, and I feel like I have a purpose.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, that whole thing of because I get both sides of it. I understand that everything happens for a reason, but it can come off as dismissive for people that are really struggling. It's kind of like when you're really struggling and you tell someone and they're like, it'll be okay. It's like I know it will be okay at some point, but right now it's not, and I need you to hold space for like where I actually am now. And it's very hard for people to sit with darkness or heaviness or sadness without trying to change it, fix it, or make the person feel better. And and so I get the both sides of that. I think, and you're right, it's it's not that it happens for this reason. We don't want to have a reason for anything that's victimizing someone to happen, but what we do with it, like how am I going to take it? What reason do I have that's going to help me and possibly others? And it doesn't have to be for others. I have a lot of clients where I'm like, you're here and meant to be selfish, you're not here to take everything and do everything for others. Because sometimes a lot of the people that come to me are such givers that they are tapped out, they are drained. And I'm like, you get to do everything for you. And if people need something, they get to take care of it for themselves. That's on them, not you. So there's all sorts of stories when it comes to that.

SPEAKER_02

I love that. Yeah, I think it's just it's just a beautiful journey to even realize it. Yes. I honor that journey in not only myself, but in like all the people that I talk to. And it's so powerful when you uh understand that what connects us in all humans is the shared emotion. I could have gone through something completely different than what you've been through, but there's that shared emotion that connects us, and I think that kind of is what uh shows others that I don't have to have gone through the same thing as you, but I can understand what that feeling that you went through, and the fact that you've you feel like you've seen another side and found purpose behind it gives hope to those that need it.

SPEAKER_00

So yeah, and I love too how the universe or God or spirit will connect us to the right people at the right times. There's never a coincidence with that, there's always some, it's like this big chessboard, okay. This, this, this, and then and I love seeing all those connections and how they fall into place through the oh, I know.

SPEAKER_02

It's like back and look and connect those dots has been super cool. The way that I met my Reiki master friend that ended up being the catalyst that I from that session I had with her back in 2022, this podcast came about. And from that, I've met people like you that I'm like, oh my God, I feel like my life has forever changed because of this connection. But this connection wouldn't have been here if years ago I wouldn't have met this lady that my friend was like, Hey, you should, she's in school to be a therapist, and she needs somebody to practice on. And I know that you're very open with your story, so you can make stuff up if you want. She just she needs the practice, and that's how I met this woman that completely then altered my life in so many different she just had pieces of like inspiration throughout the years of my lifestyle.

SPEAKER_00

I know. I actually know most people I hear, plus myself, had a big awakening during their first Reiki session. It's like the activation, how it happens. It's so interesting because a lot of times it will be like a vision or a just an acknowledgement. And like you were saying earlier, like the fact of knowing it, like why something is happening, or and that's what when I do work with people and myself, it's like just acknowledging it and being open to it is enough because some people will be like, I need to be doing this, or I should be doing this, or I should be doing it. I'm like, you're doing everything perfectly by knowing and just acknowledging it, that's it. That's all you have to do. The pieces will fall into place, you don't have to force it. But unfortunately, sometimes with everything like with social media or whatever, we're comparing ourselves or thinking we need to be here when we're there, and all of these things that we think we need to be doing, or the way that we need to look, or all of these like false things. And I'm like, that can sometimes get that can actually sometimes make us go backwards because if we feel like we're supposed to be doing that, and then we get in our head and then we make ourselves feel bad about it. It's like, no, just acknowledge when something happens because a lot of people aren't doing that. A lot of people are walking around zombies in their lives.

SPEAKER_02

Absolutely. I have a mindset coach that I've been just great friends with for many years, but he always says, Stop shooting all over yourself. Yeah, you shouldn't be anywhere except for where you are right now, and it's I think it's beautiful and perfect when that when we actually understand that. Yeah, exactly. So, what role did do you feel intuition and self-trust played in rebuilding your life from the ground up?

SPEAKER_00

Yes, it's interesting. I grew up in a household that was my parents were hippies in the 60s and 70s, and it was really open. I got really lucky with that. I was able to practice whatever spirituality I wanted. I I never had any judgment. It wasn't like don't do that or do this. I luckily had that laissez-faire, figure it out on your own, see how what do you like, what do you not like. So I had that freedom from the very beginning to kind of go my own way and what felt good. And so I was always really spiritual and intuitive, but didn't really know it or know how to manage it. And so that's a lot of the work that I do now is that a lot of people that come to me are highly, highly sensitive, high-functioning, usually high-functioning women that feel everything and they attribute it, or they'll get, for example, they'll have high anxiety or ADHD or Audi HD, like high functioning autism. And I help them to be able to see that those are actually gifts and how to use them, that those are might be psychic intuitive gifts that they are attributing to something else. Not to, of course, dismiss AD, ADHD or ADD, but there those things are usually intertwined, right? And so I was able to really just flow through my own spirituality, even during my addiction, even when I was on death's door. I wrote a story on Substack about it, about how I think it was called God Found Me in the Crack House or something. It was basically like even at my worst, when I was this drug sick and just really at the bottom bottom, I felt God all around me or spirit all I call it God, but it's just the all there is, right? And sometimes I think people think when they're doing wrong things or that they're bad and that God or spirit isn't there with them. And I'm like, it's actually there with more. It's just that you may not be able to hear, feel, or see it if you're clouded by whatever. And so spirituality was always around me. I just had numbed it so long with what I was doing to survive and cope with being highly sensitive that I didn't really know how to manage it until when everything popped open and started getting extra and and because I started hearing and feeling spirits and stuff. So I had to go to a medium and be like, what's happening to me? Am I a medium? What's happening? And thankfully, with my own openness, and there were a lot of friends that didn't get it at first. But as like when you're evolving or opening up to things, there are people in our lives that are meant to be with us for a season and not always. Yeah. And there's always that grief grieving the parts of us that are we're releasing or grieving the friends that were there with us then, but don't need to necessarily go with us to the next chapter. So I was I always had that inkling of spirituality, but when I quit drinking was when it really smacked me in the face and was like, this is who you are, this is what you're meant to do. And that's where I started getting into the intuition piece and learning about that. So, like you said about Reiki and other things, it was like I call it spiritual dancing where you're led to one thing and then the next thing it felt like that. It was very, I got clean, then it was like what felt like I needed to go to this intuitive reader, and then I felt called to Reiki, and then I felt called to Akashic Records, and then I felt called, so I just like popped all over, either getting support from others or realizing I was meant to do it. Tarot, astrology, all the things. So that's a really long answer to your question.

SPEAKER_02

No, I love it, I

Faith, Shame, And Letting Yourself Be

SPEAKER_02

love it. So I was the opposite, we were raised Catholic, and it was that was either that or you're in the wrong religion, and everything else is wrong. So it made me have to feel like I wrestled a lot with spirituality because I feel very connected to God. I know I have a badass relationship with God. I know it. I've been through enough near-death experiences in my life that I could say the connection is there. And I know I had an aura reading one time and she painted my hands with I don't know, energy. Yeah, was it like a digital digital screen or something? No, I have actually the painting up there. I'll show you after we're done. Amazing, but it's like energy, and she was activating something, and she's you're meant to be a healer, and I never really understood it, and I don't necessarily know what way it's supposed to be, but I know that like when I'm aligned to the things that make me feel that inner knowing of ah, this is exactly where I'm supposed to be. Amazing things happen. Whether it's with people around me or so I know that something's there, right? But I had to wrestle with that that but I'm supposed to be very straight and narrow Catholic. And if this is not what I b believe in or in what I preach and what I whatever, it's not okay. And so it was a lot of that wrestling back and forth with is this okay? But God is everywhere. And it's so I had to understand how it was everything was okay for me and what felt right to me. And you are will you are okay. If this is what you believe, have at it. I am not here to deter you from anything. I'm here to support. I'm here as rah-rah. I am here to support whatever you decide you want to do. And so because I felt because I never had that choice and felt horrible for the longest time. Oh my God, I really enjoyed that Reiki session. And oh my God, I tried this Akashic record thing once, and am I just going straight to hell?

SPEAKER_00

Yes, I know. I always say, let people be who they are. Like, why can't we just let people be who they're especially like when I see, like you said, I've seen this work heal with such light? Yeah. I mean, I healed a seven 17 plus year drug and alcohol addiction in all my childhood trauma. Like, yeah, and where I could be compared to where I am now from all the spiritual work and holistic work I've done is insane. It's insane. And so, yeah, unless for me, it's like you're not hurting anybody. But I do, I think that God is everything. God is in everything, it's everything. So luckily, because uh growing up in the non-judgmental household, I was able to just like I don't have that mindset. I guess there's something that I really liked where it's like there's fixed mindset, and forget what the other one is. It's like open mindset, or yeah, where it's basically like you're either fixed in this is the way it is no matter what, or you're open to experiencing different things or evolving, or maybe I'm not right. Maybe that it's challenging yourself with love. Is that belief something I believe? Is it something that was indoctrinated? Is it something that's serving me or not? And in a neutral way, versus like I'm not doing that because when we're judging either ourselves or others, we're really wasting a lot of time.

SPEAKER_02

Like, yeah, absolutely. Yeah, I definitely agree. I feel very called to just just be a good human. Yeah, that's what feels right to me. I am a good human, I wish good things for others, you know, kind, good human. That's what I want for my kids, that's what I try to emulate. At work, they call me the purple energy girl because I'm always bringing my purple energy to whatever room I'm in. And I just want to be a good human and help other people. And that I think is where my purpose is taking me. And I don't feel judged anymore. I'm just gonna do me and it doesn't matter whatever anyone else thinks.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I love that because when it comes to guilt and shame and all of that, it's just poison, it's toxic in the body. I mean, the mind-body connection, it's if we feel those things, the so for example, if we're like trying to lose weight or something like that, and we can't, a lot of times it's emotional stuff, or if we're holding on to the shame or guilt, it's like you can work out until you're blue in the face and do all the things, but it doesn't work. If you hold it, if you're holding on to emotions that aren't serving you, it's gonna, it's just gonna stick in you and create all sorts of problems.

A First Reiki Release Story

SPEAKER_02

So I wanna kind of share with you my first my very first Reiki experience that I didn't know was Reiki. So I used to be in the hotel industry, and my destination that I covered that I was the product development manager for was Miami. And there was this hotel in Miami called the Canyon Ranch Hotel, and it was a holistic, very spa resort kind of feel, and they had all kinds of different treatments. And my contact there was like, Maria, you have got to try this. And I was like, Okay, what is it? And she's I'm actually gonna book you because you've brought us a lot of business. I'm gonna book you a session with this lady. It's called the energy healing massage.

SPEAKER_01

And I was like, Okay, what are you talking about?

SPEAKER_02

What is this? And she's believe me, don't freak out. But I spent the whole time crying and I was like, dude, what are you signing me up for? But okay, whatever. Yeah, what is it? So I go in and she doesn't ask me too much, except, is there anything that I need to watch out for? And so I sit down and I'm like, Yeah, do not touch my lower back. My lower back is to the touch, it hurts. Don't just leave it alone. You can massage everywhere else, just don't touch my lower back. And she was like, Okay, and so I lay down and it's this beautiful white room with so much light coming in. And there was at the time, I didn't know what they were, but there was bowls all around, sound bowls, and I was like, God, this is just it's just dreamy, it's beautiful in here. And so I lay down, and all of a sudden I feel that she's just hovering over my back, and I'm like, what is happening right now? Because I what is this feeling, this twitch that I feel, and she's not even touching me. Yeah, I thought this was a massage. Well, yeah, and so she ends up saying to me, Oh, I feel like you have a lot of sexual trauma right here, and presses down in my lower back, and but it was like this energy that just pressed down, and I spent the full hour crying, cry crying, snot like crying, letting it all out, and I think that for so long I kept this dis-ease in my body, and it was creating this disease, right? And it was I was like shook a f as I finished and I was like, What just happened? And I had dinner with my friend right afterwards, and she's and I went in my gym clothes, and we just sat on the beach for a while, and I was just like, What did I just experience? And she's like, I know, right? She was like, This was so crazy, and it I didn't I still didn't know what it was. Years later, I meet my friend Rachel and I do a Reiki session with her, and all of this things that I was like, it all connected after that. I didn't have back issues and I wasn't sensitive to the touch on my back, and I'm like, what just happened to me? This is crazy. And for so many years I just held on to this pain and this grief that uh and this trauma that I just couldn't let go of. And yeah, so that was like my first Reiki experience that I didn't know was Reiki. And when I found out, I was like, that makes so much sense now.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, and it's crazy how fast it can be released because people were so used to when I have a pain, all I can think about is the story around how it happened and how it's gonna take either just as long or it's never gonna be able to take care of, or if someone wants to say, I can make your pain go out like that, it's like there's no understanding that that can happen. But there's so when we have that emotional tie or connection, or we're holding it in our body without realizing it, and then all of a sudden it can happen. We can release something like that.

SPEAKER_02

It's and I I think that not knowing that was what was happening, or that was what I was to expect without so going in without any expectation. I felt like there was no walls up, no, I don't know, uh prejudgment of or pre-same or guilt or whatever. I was just going in for a massage, and it was life-changing, but that's not what I was I went in thinking that was gonna happen, and it was like, oh my god, that was phenomenal. I can't, I could still remember being in that room and just letting it all out.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it was wild, it is wild, and you're right with like when you think it's gonna be a certain thing, or when you can make up a story, or make up a like, or judgments can come up, or conditions, or whatever, and you can stop yourself from fully receiving it. It sounds like it was like set up not only from your friend, but spiritually for you to just walk in and be able to it overrides the judgment or whatever, like you said, the decisions that we make or the beliefs that we make about what we're gonna do, what's gonna happen, or whatever.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

How To Get Unstuck With One Action

SPEAKER_02

What would you say to someone that feels stuck in a cycle that they don't know necessarily how to break?

SPEAKER_00

So, what's interesting about the work I do and what makes it a little bit different is that I am shown what specifically is creating the imbalance for that person. So for each person, it's gonna be different. So, for example, people will be like, Do you do dream analysis? And what I will say is you can bring me a dream, but and I will tell you what your guides are showing me around it, but it's not gonna match at all. What if you were to go on Google and say, What does this dream mean? It's gonna be specific to you.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

So the first thing I would say is is because the first thing about being feeling stuck is all about like how to empower yourself and how to take action. Like you said, we were talking about this ahead before we started recording about like how you asked yourself, What do I need? I think that's what it was. I can't remember, but basically, you get to really go deep into taking one action. That's what it was.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

You were like, What one action, or your coach had said, take one action toward your dreams. It's like that. What one action can you take toward either your dream or the person that you want to be or that you think you are? And that will start opening up your mind and to wait that there's actually no limits. And the limits that I'm seeing are either from my family or from my partner or from this version of me that I think I am. And so the first step is really to break apart your own beliefs about yourself and to take really one action. So, because I'll have a lot of people, for example, that will say they'll they will have been feeling something heavy for a long time. And they'll come to me and they're like, I think I need a session, but I don't know. And then we'll walk through the process and they get scared and then aren't able to take the next action, which I totally understand. People do what they're meant to do when they're meant to do it, and so sometimes it's just not the time. But what I always say is push yourself to do something that may help you open to what could be that thing that's blocking, whether it is a reading with someone or a free call with some like a discovery call with a coach or something, just to start getting an idea from other people, having a community or whether it's a spiritual community or just of people that do the same things you do, that can give a little bit of perspective. Because sometimes when we're in something, we have our own conditional thoughts around it, and someone else could seize all your beauty and gifts and could be like, I see you as this. What crafted open for me is I'm talking about this, because I felt this way where I was like, I feel stuck. I started taking leadership classes. And in leadership, in the course I took, it was like a big group of people, and we were split up into little groups, and it was a really intense leadership where the first thing you would do before we knew anyone in our group, we were supposed to look at each individual person and say, How you show up to me is. Oh, and so it was that's kind of powerful there, it was confronting, but because we knew coming in, this is leadership, we're here to open ourselves up. And if we're gonna sit there and be like, I can't believe you said that, then we're not gonna learn, right? So people would look at you that did not know you at all and say, You show up to me as sad, you show up to me as very powerful, you show up to me as whatever it was, and it really gives you this idea of how you show up in the world that you may not be able to see. So that's those are some things that come up for me around if you're feeling either stuck or it to break up the perspective that you're having because sometimes we're stuck in our own story or whatever around what's going on or why why we're stuck, right?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah. I love that. I love that so much. What limiting beliefs or roadblocks do you feel you had to overcome to get to where you are today?

SPEAKER_00

The biggest one was when you first start coming out of the cloud of who you think you are, you will have this, you have this tightly knit identity around the this is who I am. Yeah. And it's really hard when you start doing the opening and start healing, where you're like, if you are married to that story, it's really it can be really difficult to see it as your empowerment story versus what happened to you and why you can't change.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

So my thing was like being stuck in the victim story of I'm an addict, I can't get better, this anxiety is never gonna go away. I did have that very fixed mindset of this is just how it is. And so when I was first in leadership or courses or classes, my story to myself was like, this is how I am. I can't change it. I'm just frozen in this version of myself, right? And growing up with a dad that was very victimish himself, what I grew up with was this always happens to me, once again, of course. This all so I grew up in learned helplessness where everything is just that's how it goes for us. And so it was, I was stuck in this thing of my dad ruined my life. He was an alcoholic, and because of that, this is what the way I am, and it was always other people and why my life was the way it was. And the biggest thing I used to say is that I was like frozen with emotions. My emotions are frozen. I can't unfro I'm just like this. And I had a lot of people in that because I was in leadership courses and stuff call me out. They're like, Aaron, like with love, I have the same father you did, but I don't let it judge, I don't let it hold me back. My dad was like hitting me every day violently, and this and this and that. And what really changed for me was that someone that was calling me on my BS, which I really needed, was said, Aaron, I want you to make a list and write down if my dad had not been an alcoholic, blank. And I want you to write down the good, amazing things in your life that would not have happened. Oh. If so basically it was like, if my dad had not been an alcoholic, I wouldn't be born. Like my sister wouldn't be born. I and the reason I moved away from my hometown to go live in Boston and start my life was because I wanted to get away from him. I might not have moved from my hometown. I might have died of an overdose if I stayed. I might have gotten into this light or gotten pregnant and had this life. Of course, the life that I had would have been the one I needed, but I was pushed through that. So, and this is why, like when I work with people and they have the judgments on their self or this or the stories, I don't judge them for it because I know that's kind of where you have to start before you can open up. So those are the limiting beliefs and the things that had me wrapped up or frozen and hard to open up and move forward. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

I love that. That's very good insight because we all kind of start in that self-judgment and stay in that cycle until we kind of break ourselves out of it.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Yeah. I called it, I did a course once called Rebuilding Your Reality. And it was based on 3D, which is being in the 3D reality of Earth and a human on Earth or whatever. And then it was like 4D and 5D. So, like when you start to ascend or to think differently, or to not think I'm just a body stuck in this experience, and you start to think, wait, I have a soul plan, there's other things going on here. When you start divorcing yourself from the idea of who you are, you can see things so much differently. And there's a sense of freedom around it and uh and expansion. And so it can really serve you to let go of that. Oh, that's what it was the fixed mindset and growth mindset, to get out of that fixed mindset and get into the growth mindset. And it's sticky, it's not always gonna be easy. There's gonna be times when you think you know it all and you don't, or there's gonna be times when you think you don't know anything, but you actually know exactly what you're doing. So it's it's follow the path, let yourself be the human that you are, like there's nothing wrong with you, you're doing in perfect timing and letting yourself just flow.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. I love it.

Grounding Rituals For Sensitive People

SPEAKER_02

So, what daily habits or rituals have helped you reach the your level of success?

SPEAKER_00

So I like how you frame it with level of success. I've been running my spiritual business, Air Inspirational, I've been running my business for 10 years now. And it's had so many iterations because in doing your purpose work as a job-ish, like doing the podcast and everything, it can be easy to get meshed or to not be able to separate yourself from whatever your purpose is. And so for me, I need to especially so the work I do, I'm connecting to multidimensional energies and people's soul paths and purposes and different light grids and different languages and all of these different spiritual dimensional things. And because of that, and me being this dense, just I'm just a human, right? Like anyone else, yeah, I can take on a lot of static or heaviness or whatever without realizing it. And so I it's very important, especially after doing this work this long, to have for me, and every person's gonna be different, but for me, I don't really start going until 11 a.m. For me, like I'll wake up at 7:30, and even from 7:30 till 10, I am just doing, I need to get into my body, I need stability and grounding in my body and like that, okay, I'm that presence of being. And it takes me a while to get into that before I'm ready to do this level of work. And so for me, I usually will have what I find where God leads me is like one thing at a time. I will be right now, I'm doing a course in miracles, which is basically, yeah, which is like a it's I call it like the holistic Bible. It's like a version of the Bible, but it's talks about like how to connect to the deepest parts of yourself and know that there's nothing wrong with you and how to empower yourself through that. So I do like a lesson a day from that. It's 365 lessons, one a day, and I'm on 330. So I have really stuck to that. It's very hard for me as someone who jumps all over the place and wants to, I'm like a little fairy that wants to and I have to like me to dedicate myself to Aaron. You said you do integrity is my number one value in my business and my life. And so when I say something, I do it. Yeah. And so my word is very important to me. So when I say, and I mean to myself, so when I say something in integrity to what I'm doing, I make sure I follow through. Not to the point where I have to follow through because I said so, or else then that creates shame or whatever. But so yeah, so Course in Miracles, I like to do 30 minutes of just laying on a yoga mat in my I have a room with Himalayan salt lamps, so it's like this really amazing light energy energy. Yeah, and I just lay on a mat and let myself do whatever, whether it's actual weights and workout or just deep stretch or crying in the fetal position or or just laying in meditation or self-hypnosis or whatever. I just let spirit and my body guide me, and I just let myself have that space. Also, time with I'm a cat mom. I love my little kitties. So I have two cats and I love to just lay in bed and relax. I'm a cancer, comfort is my life. So if I could like work from bed every day on my computer with my little robe, I would. So yeah, being comfortable, feeling safe in my body, getting grounded, drinking a lot of water, eating really nutrient dense foods. I am to the point now, because I have a very strong relationship to my guides and God, where I will know if I can even feel if on a cellular level my body is off and I'll be like, I'm gonna get sick in four days. I can feel like how long it's gonna be. Wow. I'll feel like a seed in my body of oh, something's gonna happen in my left shoulder. I can feel everything. So, and that's a blessing and a curse because when you feel everything, then it's very overwhelming. So it's really like getting in touch with myself, also with the overwhelming thing. How to get in touch with my gifts, my sensitivities, and create an auric film around myself. So I'm not open to everything and everyone, because that can get a lot. And I know I'm sure a lot of the people that tune into your podcast are highly sensitive or extra sensory or feel everything. And so that's what helps me is to kind of really get grounded with God and my guides and create that. I just say about yeah, I just say God's white light. I surround myself with God's white light and clear out all of the static with God's white light. And that's what helps me.

SPEAKER_02

I love it. I love it so much.

Where To Find Erin And Farewell

SPEAKER_02

Okay, so Erin, this has been amazing. Yes.

SPEAKER_00

Thank you so much.

SPEAKER_02

Tell our listeners where they can find you.

SPEAKER_00

So my business, as I said, is air inspirational. It's a play on words. I like to one of my biggest values on top of integrity is inspiration, inspiring myself, inspiring others, helping people to heal on the deepest levels in their soul and in their lives so that they can live the freedom that they came here to live. So I help people see what their soul has in store for them, what they're meant to do, what they're here for, and how to take action on that, and also how to find their psychic gifts, utilize them and use them for whatever, whether it's to help themselves and that's it, or whether to create a psychic business out of it. So my biggest things are I'll do one-on-one readings with people. So either tarot or Akashic Records, and that's where I connect to the soul blueprint of a person and walk them through their path and purpose and past lives and future lives and everything else. So I will do readings, but the readings are usually lead to either three or six month packages, and that's about the transformational soul coaching to help people get from point A to point B about where they like where they want to go. And then I have an ongoing program called Psychic School. So I basically, it's here local in the Tri-Cities area of Washington, but and people fly here to take it. So people can fly here, but I'm gonna start doing it online on Zoom as well. So it's basically how to tap into your psychic gifts and how to use them. And we go into clairvoyance and we do fun psychic activities, and there's a yeah, and there's an opening meditation with a breath work coach and then a closing sound healing at the end. So it's a really great experience, and that's a weekend course, and then I have a thing called Spiritual Business Academy. So that helps people create a spiritual business if they want to or take their gifts and go deeper with them. So those are my things. My name is Air Inspirational on all the socials, so I'm mostly on Facebook. So Facebook, Air Inspirational, Instagram, Air Inspirational, TikTok, Air Inspirational. I just keep it the same across the board because it's easy that way.

SPEAKER_02

Easy. Yeah, exactly.

SPEAKER_00

Um, and the way I tell people is just it's the word inspirational with an ER at the front. So because sometimes sometimes people can get confused about the word.

SPEAKER_02
