What is BELIEF WORK, and why is it so important?
Beliefs are fundamental to our lives.
The powers of our beliefs can shape and change our lives. What you believe (especially what you believe about yourself) and your thoughts will always equal your results.
In this week’s Yes Mujer Build It episode, I revisit one of my earlier podcasts that focused on BELIEF WORK.
If you have a goal you want to reach, such as making a certain amount of money, buying a house, making a significant impact in your community, or having a better relationship with time, then the foundation to achieving all of your goals is your beliefs.
Learning BELIEF WORK opens up so many opportunities for you. It shifts the way you view your life. You start to understand that what you BELIEVE you become.
BELIEF WORK is the process of taking a thought and making it a belief you feel in your body. The best part is that we can do this with any thought we have.
You can learn to choose beliefs that are in alignment with your goals. All of a sudden, reaching your goals becomes attainable!
It all starts with practicing BELIEF WORK.

Have you ever asked yourself, "Who do I need to BE to reach my goal?”
If you have been joining me in the different places I coach, you will notice that lately, I’ve been repeating the most fundamental tool I teach. It is the concept of BE. DO. HAVE.
In this week’s Yes Mujer Build It episode, I replay my one earlier podcast where I explained the concept of "BE, DO, HAVE.” I explain how this foundational tool reminds you that everything starts with who you are BEING.
You might ask what the hell that means?
Who we are BEING represents our thoughts, feelings, beliefs, intentions, and the energy behind our actions.
Your way of being includes embodying qualities like courage, confidence, presence, and trust, and it's up to us to CHOOSE who we want to be and how we want to show up in the world.
Start asking yourself, “Who do I need to BE, to reach my goal?” This aligns you with the qualities and mindset that support your desired outcome.
BE. DO. HAVE starts with your way of BEING first. And the great news is - you control your way of BEING. You control your thoughts, your feelings, your beliefs, your intentions and your frequency of energy. Therefore if you control who you are BEING, you can control any outcome!

Well, listen up because we have a special high-energy episode for you.
On this week's Yes Mujer Build It, we have a special guest: the all-mighty Karla Rendon, aka DJ KICKIT.
DJ KICKIT shares her journey of breaking the rules and living in her truth as a DJ and a motivational speaker. She talks about what motivated her "rebellion" against the expectations from her conservative Mexican upbringing, breaking social norms and doubtful peers to find the courage to embrace her authentic self. She encourages others to block out the noise and follow their hearts. She shares the story of how she took the opportunity of being let go from her 9 to 5 to fully step into her passion of being a DJ and now a motivational speaker in addition to that.
Karla's tenacity brought her major results in the Get It Done Mastermind. As she wraps up her final weeks in her second cohort, Karla talks about her results, which include increased income, more paid speaking gigs, and confidence in handling rejections. On this week's Yes Mujer Build It Episode, I was invited to join Dr. Erika Guzman on the Better Than Good Enough Podcast to discuss my journey of shifting away from the typical "successful first-gen Latina" stability and going full-time into transformational coaching.
The Better Than Good Enough Podcast is dedicated to raising consciousness in the Latinx immigrant community through sharing and listening to real stories from Latinx individuals. Each episode contains a topic relevant to immigrant Latines living in the USA.
We discussed my experience with my parents when I told them about quitting my good-paying non-profit job to pursue coaching and entrepreneurship. I also discussed how leaning into transformational work is vital to making the changes you want in your life and how surrounding yourself with like-minded people (shoutout to the amazing supportive spouses and partners) willing to support and learn with you is vital to your success.
Finally, I discuss why I love my job as an action-based coach and how my clients' work impacts the Latine community.

Did you know that it is common to experience imposter syndrome, especially in the Latina community?
Imposter syndrome can keep us from achieving big goals, but we can also feel it when we experience success. It happens when we feel like we don't deserve success or that we have not really earned it. We can feel like a fraud, and find ourselves with tremendous self-doubt.
In this week’s Yes Mujer Build It! episode, I share my experience with imposter syndrome when I was in disbelief that NASA contacted me to do a workshop for parents during the pandemic. I remember it like it was yesterday. I literally thought the email I received from NASA was a fraudulent email, only to discover it really was from NASA! I share the entire story on this episode.
What shifted me out of the imposter syndrome and back into the reality that this was a legitimate opportunity, was dropping into my heart. Dropping into your HEART is a powerful tool for conquering Imposter Syndrome. This tool gets us out of our brains and back into our bodies. It shifts the focus from trying to "prove" to ourselves that we Belong, to FEELING like we Belong.
In this episode - I cover three ways you can practice dropping into your heart:
When you drop into your heart, you remember the power of who you really are. The answers you are searching for are available to you. You just have to get out of your head and into your heart. Practicing dropping into your heart on a regular basis is a game changer for conquering Imposter Syndrome.

What if we learned how to manage the uncertainty of our lives?
If you are creating something, building a business, or working on a project, you will face uncertainty at some point. Things do not always go as planned. In fact the one thing that is guaranteed in life, is that there will be change.
The challenge is uncertainty can cause us to feel stressed and anxious about the future.
I see many of my clients experiencing this currently.
But what if we could look at uncertainty from a different perspective? What if we could learn to manage it in a way that does not create more doubt, but actually leaves us feeling better about the situation.
In this week’s Yes Mujer Build It! episode, I explain two tools for managing uncertainty. These tools help you shift your perspective on uncertainty, which opens up more possibilities that lead to action in your business and life.
The first tool for managing uncertainty is asking yourself this powerful question:
Ask yourself these powerful questions the next time you are feeling uncertain.
There are actually many things you can control.
The second tool has to do with shifting the way you look at uncertainty. What if instead of uncertainty creating stress and anxiety, you flipped it into looking at it as an adventure? What if uncertainty means being spontaneous, being more creative, being more curious, the way we are when we are on an adventure? This one simple shift can open up so much more possibility for you.

If you have been following me on my Instagram, you would have noticed that I just finished facilitating my Get It Done Mastermind retreat with my clients, and what a powerful weekend it was! So many things opened up for us during our time together, but the biggest message that we received as a collective was ABUNDANCE.
Have you ever tapped into your energy of ABUNDANCE?
In this week’s Yes Mujer Build It! episode, I teach you a three-step process for tapping into abundance. This process will help you move from scarcity to abundance in your life. We start with defining what abundance means to you, identifying where and how you experience it, and documenting your experience.
We live in an abundant world. This essence of energy exists between you and the things that you want to create, and it is available to you at any time, anywhere. If you are committed to achieving a goal or creating an outcome for your life, you will need to tap into abundance. It is very difficult to create from a place of scarcity, so if you are serious about creating the life you want–this episode is a must!

I am sure you know by now that your BELIEFS are the programming running your life.
Having a healthy belief system is crucial for creating the desired results we want to have in our lives.
In this week’s Yes Mujer Build It! episode, I discuss a four-step process for turning a thought into a BELIEF. Beliefs are important because they define how you see yourself and the world around you. The process is called BELIEF WORK, and It starts with stating the desired belief, visualizing and seeing it in your life, feeling it in your body, and finding proof that belief already exists.
Through this process, you can start to take on Beliefs that will help you create the future you want. You can change your beliefs so that you are 100% in alignment with who you truly are.
It all starts with practicing BELIEF WORK.

Do you feel pressured to succeed in life as a First-Gen Latina?
First-generation Latinas face unique difficulties. We feel the pressure to achieve the “American Dream” via good jobs, earning a stable paycheck, and status. We also feel the pressure to prove our worth by conforming to the “traditional” Latinx gender roles like marrying young, being family-orientated, and knowing how to cook. These pressures can try to sabotage us as we continuously build the lives we dream of.
It can feel like our definitions of success get confusing.
How do we find the balance between the two worlds?
In this week’s Yes Mujer Build It! episode, I share some of the pressures of being a First-Gen Latina and how to manage it. Pressures like being a top performer at work or knowing how to make black beans from scratch. We feel tremendous pressure to fit into these two very different worlds.
The first step in managing these pressures is to acknowledge that they exist within us.
Remember your definition of success doesn’t have to be either American or Latinidad. In fact, you can define your success as having the best of both.

Have you ever heard of FUTURE SELF WORK?
Future Self-Work is a practice that helps you become the future version of you. The version of you who has already achieved the goal that you want to achieve. It’s like telling the universe and your brain that this is what you want to have happened in the future.
In this week’s Yes Mujer Build It! episode, I’ll teach you a TOOL that you can use NOW to connect with the future version of yourself. The process is called Scripting. In Scripting we pick a day in your future life and you write it out step by step as if it was a memory. I use this tool during my Future Self Experience events to help you align your present self with your Future Self. It provides insights on what action steps you need to take to get you closer to your goal. Practicing Scripting is a simple yet powerful way to envision your future life right now, and it's available to you at any time.
There are many tools you can use to connect with your Future Self. Scripting is just one tool in the tool box. If Future Self-Work resonates with you, I invite you to join us in Inspired Action group coaching, where we focus on taking consistent action towards being our Future Self NOW.
It is not enough to envision being her, you actually get to take action to become her now.

I have a confession to make: last week was HARD.
If you have been following me, you may have noticed that my family and I took a vacation to the woods. It was great, but I got in deep.
Deep into the trees
Deep into my body
Deep into listening
And guess what I was told? The vibrations told me to SLOW DOWN.
Have you ever experienced this type of awareness or a deep awakening?
In this week’s Yes Mujer Build It! episode, I share my personal experiences of feeling overwhelmed. I also share the strategies I am using to not go down the spiral and actually cope with the stress, anxiety and overwhelm.
Often, we receive messages to slow down, take care of ourselves, or find a way to bring more joy into our lives. But what happens if we don’t heed those calls? Our bodies, brains, and emotions can and will shut down. But the way to avoid such overwhelm is to check in with yourself on a regular basis consciencely.
Start by asking yourself these questions:
Listen to what resonates inside you. Your answers are the guides to building the life you want.

Have you ever felt the need to reconnect with your sense of self or discover your natural gifts?
If so, get ready to take some notes because this episode is for you.
In this week’s episode, I’ll ask you two essential questions that will help you connect to your natural internal resources.
Your Center of Gravity is where you feel entirely connected to your purpose and grounded in your work. Your Zone of Genius consists of the skills or talents that come naturally to you and bring you ease and flow or the feeling that time stands still when you are fully engaged.
Finding your center of gravity and zone of genius is essential for recentering and balancing yourself. Asking yourself these questions helps you tap into your awareness, guide you to your true potential, and make decisions from a place of confidence—or, as I call it, “feeding your confident wolf.”
Take some time today, ask yourself these two important questions, and tap into refreshing and replenishing your cup.

Do you struggle with procrastination or avoidance?
Most people get into procrastination at some point.
Have you ever heard of Anticipation Energy or Stimulus Management?
In this week's episode, I share one of my favorite brain hack tools: Anticipation Energy.
Anticipation Energy is a Stimulus Tool you can use to overcome procrastination. It's a tool I regularly teach my coaching clients. It's also a great ADHD tool for managing your brain.
It works by increasing the stimulus in your brain for a particular task by attaching that task to something positive you are anticipating.
It starts with finding the right amount of stimulus that works for you. Examples of regular stimuli would be playing music in the background to help you study or to work by standing up to finish writing certain emails.
Anticipation Energy stimulus works by thinking of something you are looking forward to, like a trip you are taking or the excitement a child feels waiting for Santa Claus to deliver presents. The Anticipation of this event creates dopamine and adrenaline in our system. We then use that adrenaline to get the thing done we are avoiding.
It's a powerful tool that works really well in situations where the task you have to complete does not have enough stimuli.
Anticipation Energy helps you create the stimulus or the dopamine you need to follow through by connecting something you are excited about with something you need to get done.
I can't wait for you to give this tool a try!!

Happy First Anniversary to the Yes Mujer, Build it! Podcast
Today, as we celebrate the one-year anniversary of the Yes Mujer, Build It Podcast! Wow- what a journey it has been. We have learned so much!
Thank you to each of you for your continued love and support. Thank you helping us reach all the listeners we have and thank you for being open to all the tools I share here on the podcast!
In this week’s episode, I want to share a few insights and lessons learned during my podcast journey. If you are considering starting your own Podcast, this is an episode you get to listen to!!!
I spent some time evaluating all the highs and lows of podcasting this past year. Here are some of the gems I share on this Podcast.
Podcasting is A LOT MORE WORK than I envisioned. It takes time to learn a new skill, commit to building an audience with marketing, and most importantly, commit to following through consistently with a weekly podcast.
At different points of the journey this year - there have been high highs and low lows. Through it all, I have allowed myself to be guided by my 18 years of coaching. I honor all of the challenges. I honor the not-so-fun planning, scheduling, and tech issues. I also honor the DISCIPLINE it has taken to keep going.
After 1 year, here are my biggest lessons:
Lesson 1- Podcasting can be hard work. It was more work than I had intentionally thought.
Lesson 2- Podcasting requires an equal amount of time in marketing as in podcasting. Yes- Marketing!
Lesson 3- Podcasting has strengthened my consistency muscle.
Lesson 4- Podcasting has reminded me - I have A LOT to SAY.
And I’m just getting started.
Thank you, thank you, thank to all my listeners, guests and support team who make this Podcast happen every week !
As a gratitude gift, we're thrilled to announce a Special Giveaway to our Listeners!.
I’m giving away 20 exclusive Yes Mujer, Build It! T-Shirts!!! The care package will be mailed to you.

Have you ever thought about your relationship with MONEY?
And how often do you talk about how much money you make or don't make?
In this week’s Yes Mujer, Build It! episode, I discuss the importance of talking about money and building a healthy relationship with it.
As more of us seek to reach bigger financial goals, it is important to find safe spaces to share our feelings about money. Whether your current relationship with money is strenuous or abundant, it’s important to become AWARE of how you feel about money.
Inspired by the MONEY ROOM of the Get it Done Mastermind, I explain 3 practical steps to help you build your awareness around money and start healing your relationship with it.
1- Know your numbers
2- Talk about how much you make
3- Start to build an intentional relationship with MONEY
In this episode, I share:
· Dealing with the uncomfortableness around talking about money.
· The Importance of knowing your numbers and facing the facts of your money.

Have you ever felt like every time you try to get some traction on your goal, your fearful brain takes over?
Did you know your brain is literally trying to sabotage you from reaching your goals?
In this week’s episode of YES MUJER, BUILD IT! I explain how your brain is trying to stop you from having the life you really want.
Our brain’s number one job is to keep us safe. This is great for surviving a cougar attack, but reaching a big goal can feel like a threat. It wants to keep us safe in our comfort boxes, even when we don’t want to be there. The brain tries to sabotage you with thoughts like: ‘It should have happened by now,’ ‘I’m not ready,’ and ‘I got lucky.’
But here’s the magic. Once you realize you are not your brain, you can choose different thoughts to expand beyond your comfort box and reach your goals. There is no luck. There is you and what you create, and it starts with managing your human brain.

Have you experienced a life-altering event that made you question your entire belief system?
I have.
In this episode, I share my personal story of how I lost my younger brother, Rudy, in his 20s. His passing changed my life forever. It changed how I looked at life and how I felt about it myself, and ultimately, it changed my way of BEING. My brother’s death is one of the profound influences on why and how I coach today.
Losing a loved one is never easy, but when it comes as a complete surprise, it rocks your world in a profound, foundational way. What I learned from my brother’s death is that nothing is certain in life. Anything can change at any time; therefore, our value and worthiness do not come from anything outside of us. This was my first awakening to understanding where my value really comes from, my relationship with me.
Becoming a coach and the way in which I coach is in honor of my brother… I am honest, direct, and passionate about everyone doing the work. Because we only have this one precious life to live.
In this episode, I share:
· How you can shift perspectives after a shocking loss.
· Why supporting the "average mujer" is essential for me.
· Learning where Beliefs come from.
· Navigating a belief system that will work for you
· How to use tragedy as an awakening experience
· Why life is a game and how to play it.

We are living in a Consumer society.
But whatever happened to creating things, and tapping into our creator mindset??
In this week’s episode of YES MUJER, BUILD IT! I talk about the impact that Consumer versus Creator energy have on your life.
Creator and Consumer energy are two sources that guide your thinking when making life decisions. They determine your level of self-awareness and how often you look outside of yourself for answers.
Both energies can be useful, but only when you become the deciding factor on what you want to create.
Stepping into your Creator mode means using your intuition, innovation, and flow energy to create the answers for your life. By practicing this inner work, you start to feel the expansion of letting go of limiting boundaries and opening up to possibilities. Ultimately, you shift from consumer ideology to “I create the answers.”
In this episode, we cover:
- The difference between the Consumer energy and the Creator energy.
- Describe how each energy influences parts of your life.
- Why there isn’t a perfect tool to solve all your problems.
- Practical ways to step into the Creator mode.
- How to shift your awareness to navigate your self-management system.
- Why spending time in business creator mode is an important skill to learn.
