Can I Move Out of State with My Kids After Divorce?

Anderson Keuscher Brachmann

The Question:

I’m divorced and I have primary physical custody of my two kids. I’ve lived in Reno their whole lives, but I’ve been offered a much better job in Oregon, closer to my family and with more flexibility for the kids. Their dad has visitation every other weekend and some holidays. He’s already telling me there’s no way I can move the kids out of Nevada and that I’ll lose custody if I try. Can I relocate with the children, or does he get to stop me just because he doesn’t like the move?
